In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate... Vol. 6: Goddesses just want to have fun

I AM HERE! Had an incredible day! Considering today was our travel day, we have already done a TON it seems.

I will get a full day's TR posted before midnight, but have to deal with life first.

For some reason, I can read my e-mail, but not respond. Not sure why. :confused3

And for those interested, yes, Illuminations was MAGICAL tonight.

I've had this happen, too. If you're using something like outlook or windows mail the SMTP/outbound server is often not available outside your ISP. If your ISP has a webmail site, it should work. Has Jeff tried email?

Good luck. Can't wait to read the first TR installment.

Hi gang...

Hope everyone's night is going well. I am thrilled that today is over. It was not a fun day at work and that's about all I'll say about that.

LisaV - my sister is two years older than I am and single (not sure what is wrong with the two of us, but what can you do). She lives on her own. We tried living together and it was horrible on our relationsip. We pretty much vowed never to do that again. I am sending you good vibes on the house hunting... :goodvibes

Nancy - sounds like Erin likes you guys and that is not always a good thing as I am finding out. Your trainer finds out that you have interest and it is all over. Jesse had me doing core for the entire session. I'll be lucky if I can sit up tomorrow morning. At one point, the sweat was literally pouring off of me onto the mat. My bondi band was beyond soaked. Yes, it was gross and yes, I sanitized the mat before we were done.

Erika - so glad you made it to Disney with no problems. Can't wait for the first part of the trip report.

Hi to everyone else... Things seem way too quiet around here lately so to those who haven't posted lately (and you know who you are)

COME OUT, COME OUT WHERE EVER YOU ARE!!!!!

We miss you!!!!

Trip Report – Day 1

The plan was to get Riley on the bus at 7:30 and leave for the airport at 8am. Girls didn’t have a clue. Last night I had to tell them that we got a message saying that they RE-closed school. Given all of the craziness and off-again/on-again that had been going on all week, they bought it easily. I told them that I had lots of running around to do and they would have to come with me. Cammie says, “well, if we have to do all of your stuff, can we at least do something fun for us?” I ask, “Like what?” She says, “Maybe go out to lunch?” That was an easy one! YES, we’ll go out to lunch today!

I woke up at 6:30, did the last few things that needed doing, got the kids up and ready. Riley was a HUGE help and was just bursting with excitement for them. So cute. Got him on the bus no problem.

Right before we are about to leave, the dog sitter shows up to get Bailey. Crap! She was supposed to get there AFTER we left. The girls were in the back room, so somehow I managed to get the dog, her bed, toys, and food all out to the sitter’s car without them noticing. Phew!

It’s time! In the car and off we go. They know nothing, expect nothing. I am grinning like a mad woman!

We get close to the airport and Kel starts asking questions. I already had this response prepared. “Well, Dad leaves for Asia next week, so we have to ship is luggage ahead. It is really far away, so it takes a while for the luggage to get there.” They are young enough to buy this.

God bless curbside check-in! OMG, I would die without it. So worth the tip money. Got the luggage checked, girls don’t suspect a thing—they aren’t even paying attention. Off to park the car. They ask why we have to go in to the airport. I have this response prepared as well. “We have to get a bunch of papers for Dad’s trip to Asia.” They don’t question it. LOVING this.

Cruise through the terminal and get to Security. It is a LONG line, which is very unusual. Super tiny airport and we always just sail through. Whatev. It is 9:45 and the plane leaves at 10:45 and the gate is like 10 steps from Security, so no worries. But we wait. Cammie asks, again, “what fun thing do we get to do today?” AHA! This is my opening. “What is the most fun thing you can think of to do?” She says, “Go to Disney…” (thankfully). So I am way casual and say, “Well, we ARE at the airport, let’s just go.” This starts a 5-minute discussion between the 3 of us…”But Riley and Daddy aren’t here.” And all sorts of stuff like that. Finally, I show them the Boarding Passes, with their names on them—and they FREAKED out! OMG, it was awesome! People around us clapped! So fun.

I cannot believe how great they have become at traveling. We get up to Security and they don’t miss a beat…shoes off, bags in the bucket, show their IDs, the whole nine. I didn’t have to do a thing. (Note to self: can easily travel alone with all 3 kids if need be.) We get to the gate and they are boarding. We don’t have to wait a second. Walk right on the plane. And the girls proceed to giggle for the next 2.5 hours. And hug me. And say thank you every 5 minutes for the entire flight. So great. I got lots of nice comments from the folks sitting around us.

Off the plane, grab the luggage, get the car, run to Target to get some stuff for the Villa, and we are off to BCV. We all three CHEER when we go through the arch!

Valet at BCV (thank you, DVC, for free valet parking). Hug Art the Greeter who always knows us. “Erika from Maine! I didn’t know you were coming!” (Like we are old friends and I would have called him. LOVE Art!) We check right in, 2:45, room is ready. We ask if there is an Epcot view room available. No luck. 2 minutes after we get in our room, Bell Services arrives with our Owner’s Locker and other stuff. PER. FECT. OMG, the service at BCV is the best, I think. On the down side, not thrilled with our room. REALLY far from everything. Otherwise, it is clean and in great shape.

Dump all of our stuff, load the groceries in the fridge, change into suits and head to the pool. Seriously, we were in the room for all of 15 minutes. Just enough time to get suits and sunblock on.

DisneyMay2009-Day1009.jpg

Storm-Along Bay is awesome, of course. Girls love, love, love the slide. And I did a few runs on it myself (channeling LisaV!). We cruised the Lazy River for a bit. Then I sat poolside with a cocktail and watched the girls have fun. Life is good.

Around 5:30 we decide to head to DTD for some dinner and shopping. Ate at Earl of Sandwich. EMPTY. Seriously, DTD was oddly empty. There were people, of course, but there was NO line at all at Earl. I have never seen that. There was no line anywhere. We parked in the FRONT ROW at DTD. There were parking spaces everywhere.

After dinner, we went over to check out the new Tren-D store. It is different, which is great. Not the same ol’ Disney merchandise as everywhere else, so that was great. On the down side, I didn’t really find much there that I liked. And I so so so wanted to. The idea is great and I like the genre of stuff in there, just not the specific items. Everything seemed to be off in one way or another. Found one shirt where I loved the graphic, but it only came in like neon pink. And I really wanted a Peace-Love-Mickey shirt. And the only one they head was Peace-Love-Recycle (and the recycle symbol was a Mickey head). Girls found bracelets there that they loved, so we got those. Shopped around the Marketplace for a bit, bought a few things for the kids, and then headed back.

Back at BCV, we headed over to Beaches and Cream so the girls could get ice cream cones to eat while we strolled the Boardwalk. It was a PERFECT Florida evening.

DisneyMay2009-Day1018.jpg

Warm, but not muggy. Brilliant. Had a lovely stroll over, watched some entertainers and generally just soaked up the BW atmosphere.

DisneyMay2009-Day1014.jpg

DisneyMay2009-Day1015.jpg

Headed back to BCV and stopped on the Epcot bridge to watch Illuminations. It was awesome and the girls just DIED with happiness. Back in the room at 9:20, showers, and in bed by 9:45. Asleep by 9:46!

And now here I am, it is quiet and peaceful, and I am just SO happy and relaxed.

I’ll come back and add pics in to the report in a bit.

Erika!!!!!:lovestruc

I've backspaced four times already because I simply do not have the words for what is supposed to be a TR for crying outloud (I'm talking to myself here:lmao:). Crap.

I guess - no I know, emotional me, is imagining where all this LOVE is going to take them one day. Is already taking them. Great, beautiful, fantastic places - lives. Love is not WDW of course. Love simply being you.

I'm so sorry I'm so flippin' emotional. I'm in tears.

Okay - getting ahold of myself. It's the bloody Grey's Anatomy. Last week, and I'm sure you don't watch Erika, Meredith says to this abused little girl's mother. "Don't you dare make that her story". "It can't be her story!".

So you see Erika. Look at their - Riley, Cammie and Kel - look at their :lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc story. Wow. Just imagine.

So you see why I stayed off people. :lmao::rotfl::lmao: You see! I'm a mush ball these days. And I simply don't care. There's no filter to save you all from me.

Love and fun and can't wait for pictures Erika. :lovestruc

Oh Grandma Nancy - guess what my dear. You're older. :lmao: I'm not yet 42. Soon though. And we're not old. I should have said older. But that Stacey girl - she's a baby. :lovestruc Stacey.

I don't know what the issue is Paula with you two being single.:confused3 Life's great mystery. All I can say those parents - must be totally cute. Because both sis and you are sugar coated cute.

Aimee - it's like your car is possessed by The Sound of Music. Never seen so many car issues in my life. :lmao:;)

Ronda - Ronda - oh Ronda. Please know in the future that that computer talk that you were spewing to Erika - it hurts my head. And Grandma Nancy's noggin' too. We have no idea what you are talking about. And simply don't want to know. ;):lmao::lovestruc

Yes Nancy I kwym (Nancy when the heck did you get to know computer acronyms - must you abandon me? :lmao:) But.......

I want to know examples Nancy!

Super happy early morning everyone!! Yes, the headache from heck has disappeared finally, around 10 p.m. last night...:woohoo:

LisaV, I posted the link to my race pictures. My travel pictures are sadly enough still on the camera. I am so busy running kids constantly that I have not even had a chance to sit down with them. You may never see them. Seriously, my last pics from Disney in October of 2008 came off the camera to make room for Nashville. I am pathetic I know. You can link the race photos at asiorders.com then click on the Country Music Marathon and put in bib 19056. You will see the first pic on the CMM page is the Biggest Loser couple crossing the finish line.

And zingers, yeah, I cast my share. Coping mechanism I guess. When you're hurting make em laugh. I have a truly sarcastic side which gets worse the darker my mood gets.

Erika, love, love, love the pics, the report, the whole scenario. I wish I could do that to my kids. Even as a youngster, if I had done that to Shelby she would have fried my head and eaten it. Kind of anal like her mom about the whole planny planny thing. My kids both travel well too. I forget that until we get ready to go. David has a hard time containing himself having an abundance of energy that is difficulty to reign in on a regular basis and then add excitement to that. Hope you all have a fun day planned today!!!!

Nancy, did LisaV call you grandma at 42. Hmmm, my bday is in October and I am 42, lets see who is older......43 in October how bout you???? Grandmas who have both completed a marathon.....

Ronda, I used to do Imitrex for my migraines but the 3 seconds of agony is not worth the short result that I get. I do better with rest, quiet and Excedrin Migraine instead. It just works for me and is slightly more naturopathic. I start with ice, and try to exercise to dilate the blood vessels but if that does not work, I turn to the least amount of medication that I can. Just me. It does not work for everyone.

Everyone else...

Today is a run day for me, but I missed my lower body/back workout yesterday so now I sit pondering. Do I run and workout lightly here or do I go to the gym and workout hard and take the elliptical instead. I will have to hold my decision to see if the drizzle here clears. Erika left a the perfect time, rain, rain and more rain here. I hope Florida is sunny and beautiful!!

So, I am involved with a new health site called PandaEndurance which was started by our own wonderful Windwalker (Dave). He has a program he wants to start called No Princess Will Race Alone meaning that if you are doing your first race, whatever distance, you will have a "buddy" to race along with you and help you through. I am more than willing to do this for any of you (assuming I can travel to where you are...:sad2:). Are you all still planning the Princess half? Anyone need accompanyment, banter, jokes, etcetera along the way? Oh and I will help you pace too as long as you don't bypass me and run under a 9 minute mile...:scared:

ERIKA!!!! LOVE your TR. I'm sitting here smiling like a goofball reading it! Love how you guys debated about going without dad and bro. So freaking exciting. Remember when I called you at WDW to tell you that you won a Podcast cruise?

LisaV - spew away my Deary.

LisaPR - like the buddy race program. :thumbsup2

I am going on a field trip to a dairy farm today. Weeee. That is if I can pull myself away from the current fan fiction I'm reading. Yes, ladies, I'm drowning in someone else's book right now and missing my own. Am I sorry? Not a chance.

xxoo

Erika - glad you made it to WDW safely. I am love, love, loving the TR so keep them coming as long as you can. Have fun!!!!

Can't say much, as I am off to a sales workshop for the rest of the day. Have fun without me everyone and I'll check in later this afternoon.

Now I feel like a pusher :) I'm glad you have something that works for you. When I read about your pain, it sounded like there was no end in sight. After my experience of losing two days at a time to headaches, I mention it. Thanks to advertising EVERYONE knows about Prilosec, or worse, Cialis, but fewer know about Maxalt, et al.

Erika - what an awesome TR. And what sweet girls. Are they guys coming down, too? I may have crossed wires, but thought you mentioned them as part of the cruise activities. I love the Earl of Sandwich. Nothing like it here. You're hitting all my favs... Beaches and Cream. I'm going to play Reflections of Earth now...

It's rumbly raining here. Should be clear this afternoon. Have a great day everyone!

Ronda

Ronda, Sorry. I am kinda buttish about being naturopathic. Just ask my kids...

I worked for a neurologist eons ago and he was a truly wonderful man. He gave me my first Imitrex injection and it helped then, as it would now. It is just that rush of intense nauseating pain that I cannot stand. I don't get migraines nearly as much as I used to. Less stress believe it or not. After my dad passed, I cannot name maybe 2 times in the 6 years (wow!) that I have had a migraine. Just Mike and his stressing me out.

Speaking of Mike and stressing me out...I just found US Air Portland to Norfolk VA for $325.80 for both of us round trip. Can you guess what he said?????:mad::furious: Oh there, I am much better now!!! :lmao:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMIEE!! Have a great day!

ERIKA - Love the TR, your girls are beautiful

LISAPR - Glad the migraine is gone, heres hoping it stays away! :)

LIZ - How is everyone?

KAT - I miss you! :upsidedow

EVERYONE - Hi :flower3:

Me and DH are going up to my brothers house tonight to watch our team (mine and bro's) in the football playoffs. 1st leg is tonight so Im dragging DH up there to watch it as well!
Im providing the Havana Rum and Limes, Dbro is providing the Pizza and Diet Coke! :lmao:

Erika~ loving the picture and OMG love the way you did it! The girls must have been so happy! (I can see it on the smiling faces). Love the fact that the greeter knew you!
Gee I get that at the "unnamed store", guess I shop there way to much!

Oh did I mention that is am so jealous of you right now! I would love to be in Disney!

So today I have Mother's day tea today with Tyler! They have been practicing poems and songs for all of us. The teachers make cookies and muffins and of course tea and coffee and juice. When I went two years ago with Zac it was cute. Unfortunately, they host it in the auditorium and it's dark in there. they use the stage lights but it's still dark. Of course they make us some paper flowers in a pot with some green tinsel all so cute keep sakes.
So I may or may not see my husband today, not sure what time he is getting home. I haven't seen him since 2 pm yesterday. If I don't see him today before I leave I won't see him till tomorrow! Between us working extra hours it doesn't leave time for "US". Which right now is a good thing he is sick and cranky and I don't deal well with it. YOUR A MAN ACT LIKE ONE! I still cook clean and take care of everyone when I'm sick! I have such a soothing aura when he is sick:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

So my boss is leaving , well one of them she is moving to Arizona. I will miss her! she and I got along real well considering she told me I was the bright shining star in the lab I think the feeling was mutual ! I will be sad to see her go today! She, her children and her EX HUSBAND are all going. Her and the ex buying houses in the same neighbor hood so they can share custody. WOW is all I can say to that!
Ok off to shower so I can look my best for TEA!
Have a great day everyone!

Amiee- it's your birthday?

Good God. How did I miss that one. Happy Birthday!:dance3:

I AM HERE! Had an incredible day! Considering today was our travel day, we have already done a TON it seems.

So fun. Loved that your girls were surprised like that. We did something similar once and the reactions were priceless! Love the TR too. Feel like I'm right there on the Boardwalk myself...:lovestruc

OMG. I swear you guys do this just to make my brain hurt

Jesse had me doing core for the entire session. I'll be lucky if I can sit up tomorrow morning.

So, how are you feeling today? :confused3

Oh Grandma Nancy - guess what my dear. You're older. :lmao: I'm not yet 42.

yeah. Thanks for the reminder :rolleyes1

Nancy, did LisaV call you grandma at 42.

She did indeed. Some people have no respect for their elders :rotfl2:

Hmmm, my bday is in October and I am 42, lets see who is older......43 in October how bout you???? Grandmas who have both completed a marathon.....

July. I win. Or lose, depending on your point of view :lmao: And yes. Look at us oldsters go! We're pretty dang amazing, don't you think? :woohoo:

I am going on a field trip to a dairy farm today. Weeee. That is if I can pull myself away from the current fan fiction I'm reading. Yes, ladies, I'm drowning in someone else's book right now and missing my own. Am I sorry? Not a chance.

Have fun on the farm, Lyz!
