In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate... Vol. 6: Goddesses just want to have fun

(I gave it that name to make it sound more appealing and happy - better than 'get yourself to WW fata*s!) :rotfl:

:rotfl2: So, how did it go?

Nancy - what was the recipie download you had said you used to input homemade foods into?

http://www.amazon.com/Cookn-with-Ta..._1_9?ie=UTF8&s=software&qid=1241661421&sr=8-9

It comes with a cookbook of recipes (on the software, not a hard-copy cookbook), and the ability to add/save/create your own recipes as well as determine nutritional breakdowns. Other functions that I don't use - like list makers, etc.

Are your papers graded and turned in?

 I thought that was a fair question!

It's amazing how much better I feel when I'm eating healthy -- you'd think I'd remember that during the times I'm chowing down on junk, huh?

I hear ya sister. I forget too often as well.

Hug your family today....seriously.

:grouphug:

Erika - have an AWESOME trip. Maybe by the time you get home I'll have taken my San Antonio pics off the camera :rolleyes1

Lyz - how are Stephen and Joe doin'?

Paula - is it raining where you are? Did you get out on that bike yet?

Erin totally kicked my bummocks yesterday. I hurt today :headache: We focused on legs & core yesterday. With chin-ups & straight arm planks thrown in for good measure. I hurt like I haven't hurt in a long time. AND as an added bonus, I get to do it again tomorrow. :scared: whee.

And today I was freakin' hungry. OMG hungry. All day. I ate well, was a little high on my points, but I can honestly and truly say that I was eating because my body needed it. My water was ample. My food choices were good. I just needed fuel.

My most sincere apologies for my absentee-ism. Just really busy. Living in a swirl of constant motion and controlled chaos. Things will settle down in a few days. I hope.:upsidedow

Nancy - sorry about your being sore after your workout. That totally sucks.

Sadly, I have not been out on my bike yet. The cycling gods are simply conspiring against me. My mom found out yesterday that she has a pretty bad case of glaucoma brewing in her eyes and has to have some procedures done in the next week or two (including blasting a hole in her iris with a laser - ewww). The doctors are confident that this should take care of it and with drops she should be fine long term (thank God).

We are still working out the schedule for everything, but since dad hasn't been cleared to drive from his surgery, it is up to Donna and I to coordinate our schedules to get them both to where they need to go. By the time, we get that all straight, it is going on 8:00 and it is too dark to ride outside. The good thing is that I am getting my miles in at the gym so I am not losing ground. They are heading to camp on Friday and the weather looks good for both Friday and Saturday so I should be able to get out then.

So, that is the fun we are dealing with in Albany. Oh and the Dalei Lama was in town today. I didn't actually see him in person, but we were in the same building so that was cool (yes, I know I am a loser... :rotfl:)

Have fun at your workout tomorrow morning. My butt kicking is tomorrow night.

EriKa - I'll miss you the most. Just sayin'.

LisaZ - such a shame. Things like that give you so much perspective. Like who cares about weight when you could be enjoying your family, kwim?

LisaV - Big Hugs to you. Glad I'm tickling you. I'll think of something else.

Nancy - you are exhausting me. Totally.

The hogs are fine. Nothing exciting yet. They eat and poop. Eat and poop. Getting bigger. They like carrots alot. Celery, not so much. Marshmellows, YEAH BABY!

Steph - money money money.

Paula - sorry about your mom's eyes. Scary.

HI Everyone!!!

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!

:rotfl2: So, how did it go?

When you're greeted by the WW leader with 'Hello Stranger' you know you've been away too long! :rotfl2:

I have half a stone (7lbs) to lose to get back to where I was before - so 8lbs to get back to goal.

From today, I will be tracking on here, so sorry if you don't want to read my food choices but thats life :lmao:

Erika - Have a fantastic time! :cool1:

LisaV - Just because

LisaZ - So sad about your co-workers wife

Everyone :flower3:

So Im at work again. One day I'll be a Lady of Leisure :rotfl2:

WOO HOO! I'm going to DISNEY!

So excited! And it is POURING here. A total deluge. LOVE that. I'll check in tonight from BCV, after watching Illuminations. WORD.

Kelly--1/2 a stone, that's nothing! :lmao: OMG, I love using stones as a unit of measurement! You'll take it off easy-peasy.

Have a FANTASTIC time - I know you will!

Half a stone sounds so much better than 7lbs!

Hey All -

I suck so bad I know, between finals, 2 people leaving work (1 fired, 1 resigned) and prepping for vacay i've been slammed.

I hope everyone is doing well - I plan on catching up after vacation. Finally getting a chance to relax!!

DSCN0796.jpg

I'll be on periodically - everyone have a great day!

Erika - Hope you have a blast - the weather here is beautiful - low to mid 90's and sunny!!!

Stacey - Have a great time on your trip!!!! Get some rest while your there.

Erika - Safe travels and let us know that you got there all right. Can't wait to hear about the reaction of the girls when they figure out where they are going.

Lyz - thanks... :goodvibes We are all starting to calm down a bit, but it is scary.

Kelly - 1/2 a stone? Easy peasy - like Erika said. You will be back at goal in no time. Track away. We love reading about your food choices!

Hi to everyone else...

It is a dreary kind of day here this morning. I have a big meeting this morning with one of our contractors and we need to get this issue resolved quickly or things are going to get really ugly. I'll check in with you all later, but in honor of those who are at (or soon to be at) Disney...

Have a Magical Day!!!!!!

Hey
E~ have a great trip can't wait to see the pictures!

Lyz ~ isn't it always about the money!

Liz~ hows little baby girl doing? and How Jody and greg doing?

Paula ~ raining here too! YUCK , I guess it would be ok of I were a duck!

Nancy~ take a break, sit put your feet up.

LisaV ~ miss you!

Stacy~ have a blast on your trip!

Kat ~ where o where r u?

Kelly~ not to bad! only half a stone! NOT BAD!
So during the interview i was told I would basically be a Nurse! without the degree.... How's that work?:confused3 I would call in scripts to the pharmacy, call patients to tell them to change their medicine. I would be doing throat swabs, and vitals and blood drawing and OMG everything else! Think when you go to the doctors that person you see before the doctor that would be ME! He sees 18 - 24 patients in a day! Which is a lot, considering they take a hour lunch break. I asked about salary to which I was asked how much I made at the hospital and I shared that my base hourly wage and then I have a shift differential. Then said that they would not be able to match it but would try to come close. I told them if it was for the office here in my town then I would be willing to go less because I wouldn't be driving or driving far. But as I am still traveling 20 miles each way.... I would still be using the same amount of gas. SO I couldn't go to much less...kwim??
So I am kinda torn, if this was to happen in September I would probably jump at the chance but it's not . Why September you ask! Because I am thinking I have a pool and I will have two hours of bug infested swimming if I were to take the job! If I don't then I will have 5 hours of swimming in sunlight.. I may be a vampire but I crave the sun!:rotfl2:
Ok off to fax my resume! Then laundry and work! I would like to walk but it's POURING! Not a duck water isn't my thing!:lmao:

From today, I will be tracking on here, so sorry if you don't want to read my food choices but thats life :lmao:

How's that tin 'o sin doing? Still there taunting you?

WOO HOO! I'm going to DISNEY!

:woohoo::woohoo:

It is a dreary kind of day here this morning. I have a big meeting this morning with one of our contractors and we need to get this issue resolved quickly or things are going to get really ugly.

Hope the meeting went well, Paula

I'll check in with you all later, but in honor of those who are at (or soon to be at) Disney...

Have a Magical Day!!!!!!

 And for those of us who are in Disney only in our minds?

Steph -I'm all for doing whatever works best for you. All things considered. You are fortunate to be in a place right now where you don't NEED a job. You have one already that, while maybe isn't quite ideal, may be a better *fit* than the one you've been offered. Do whatever is best for you and your situation. No matter WHAT the reasons are - if you aren't happy in the job, it's just going to make you miserable all around.

Had another killing workout this morning. I swear - Erin is trying to see just how far she can push us before we reach the breaking point

I'm off to work - then orthodontist w/Becca followed by a drama club meeting (no costumes - just discussing awards for the kids :goodvibes) so I won't be back until later this afternoon.

How's that tin 'o sin doing? Still there taunting you?

:lmao:Funny you should mention that! Im just sat here at work and I could smell something, so my bloodhound nose came out - it was biscuits! Someone had left the lid off the Tin 'o Sin (which I have successfully avoided all day) and I could smell gorgeous cookies and other chocolatey biscuity goodness!

So, I put the lid back on. Without having a biscuit, chocolate, sweet or anything. Im very proud of myself.

:rotfl2:

Popping in...

Kelly, good job with the tin o' sin. You did great! :goodvibes

Erika, have a great trip and I cannot wait for pictures. Me in Disney jail...I need a fix...

Nancy, Erin loves you, it's how we show our love for clients that have "it". My trainer will push me to the point that I call him names and then he says "I love you too hon". Good thing I actually like him...:rolleyes1

Steph, good luck.

Paula, hang in, I am thinking Magical Day too.

Everyone else, :grouphug: I am sorry, I am battling a migraine today...forgive me please.

Workouts are going well. Eating is going well. I have not slept much due to Mike's ever growing economy anxiety and tossing all night then turning on the bleeping TV. Flip, flip, flip, what is up with men???? Anyway, I guess I have taken to my old bad habit of grinding my teeth when I am actually sleeping, hence, the migraine. I am trying to work through it loading Excedrin but I have hit the max dose for the day already and yeah, it is still here. I had planned on gym and cardio but it is looking like the bed instead. I cannot perform my nonsingle parent, single parent duties like this, I just can't.

Take care everyone and I hope it is going well for all of you. I just cannot concentrate on anything right now. I apologize, I really do....:sad1:

Long overdue check in. My laptop sent up smoke signals a few weeks ago and I’m just now getting settled back into the recliner… my prefered web position. :surfweb:

Erika – I am so jealous. I haven’t seen Illuminations since 2005. I miss WDW. DGF is not a theme park fan and doesn’t like rides. The half marathon trip in January will be our first together. Mission: Space = bad, Spaceship Earth = good ; ) I’ve been to WDW more than 20 times. I know some of the ins and outs and am going to plan a GREAT trip.

We have continued running after the Trolley Run. It’s really helping us lose weight, but we need to find a way to run together more. Neither of us is enjoying the treadmill 2x a week. We’re able to run together on the weekends. To have something to look forward to we’ve signed up for the Hospital Hill 5K (they offer a 10K - which I briefly entertained -and a half marathon). It’s held June 6. As the name implies we are going to suck wind.

The weather has improved and I have been able to bike work. My exercise has been biking MWF, running 30 minutes TR and once on the weekend. I’ve started up golf and walk nine holes on Tuesdays to boot. We’ve been hitting the water fitness class at the Y a couple times a month and the dog ALWAYS needs to be walked. I am more active than I can ever remember and it shows.

I need to start strength training. I found a couple of yoga strength DVDs at the library. Any advice on yoga or independent strength training would be appreciated. No Jesse, no Erin :scared:

I am starting to get into the detailed planning of our annual neighborhood block party… moonwalk – check, porta potty – check, attendance prizes – not yet ; ) I’ve got time (June 13). We’re planning a roadtrip with DGF’s nieces in late May and I want these ducks in line soon.

I started volunteering at a local residential home for kids with behavioral problems. I cannot imagine a situation so dire that the BEST answer for a third grader is to be placed in a residential group home, yet they are full most of the time. They serve kids 4-12 years old. The overwhelming majority are acting out as a result of physical or sexual abuse. My work group has adopted their dormitories for Christmas. I toured the place and thought I could do some good there. The purpose of the mentoring program is to model appropriate adult behavior and interaction. :sad2:

The last two weeks have seen a dramatic uptick in activity for ME. Spring starts a lot of things – least of all mowing the yard - and I’m starting to feel like something will need to give. I am firm on my sleep requirements. FIRM. I said FIRM.

Paula – good luck on the weather. Riding with a destination is so much fun. I hope you live in a place where you can GET somewhere. I’ve ridden in circles for exercise and I’d much rather ride to the library.

Kelly – tin ‘o sin – great phrase. I faced down left over cake and other celebration remnants last week. The siren song of chocolate icing.

LisaPR – YES! That’s what it is, Disney jail. Do you battle your migraines with other drugs? I struggled with them for years and then hit on the triptan family of pharmaceuticals. Life changing, seriously.

Life is hitting on all cylinders. So much so that I’m watching for the thing that is going to wallop me.

Ronda

Kelly, good job with the tin o' sin. You did great! :goodvibes

Thanks Lisa!

Everyone else, :grouphug: I am sorry, I am battling a migraine today...forgive me please.

Take care everyone and I hope it is going well for all of you. I just cannot concentrate on anything right now. I apologize, I really do....:sad1:

So sorry about the migraine - I suffer from them too so I understand how much of a killer they are

You know you have no need to apologise to us right, taking care of YOU is the main priority

Kelly – tin ‘o sin – great phrase. I faced down left over cake and other celebration remnants last week. The siren song of chocolate icing.

Did you win the battle against the chocolate icing? I have fought that battle many times, not always victorious! :lmao:

I need to start strength training. I found a couple of yoga strength DVDs at the library. Any advice on yoga or independent strength training would be appreciated. No Jesse, no Erin :scared:

Jesse really isn't so bad...
really...
Yeah, who am I kidding, he kicks my butt and I go back for more. Have you tried the 30 day shred? I am not sure if that is entirely strength training, but I know it has some strength training components to it. It might be a good place to start. I have also had friends who are huge fans of the Total Gym, so that might be another option.

Life is hitting on all cylinders. So much so that I’m watching for the thing that is going to wallop me.

Ronda

Ronda - you sound incredibly busy. It is amazing that you can fit all of that in and maintain your sleep requirements. However do you do it? Please teach me... No matter how few the number of balls that I am juggling at any given time, I always seem to still drop one. To paraphrase Dori - Just keep going, just keep going.

There is a bike path that follows the Mohawk River (and goes by a few lock gates) and a number of parks that I plan to do most of my cycling on. I am not quite up to riding in traffic yet, but should be soon. Once I get to that point, I can start riding to specific destinations.

Here's to resisting the chocolate frosting...

Kelly - chocolate icing. I'm batting about .500, but they set the stuff out around 9:00 a.m.

Paula - I don't ride in traffic if I can help it. I'm lucky that my commute is almost all path. I don't think I could do it otherwise. Traffic makes me squeamish. Being right doesn't matter when the consequences are so lopsided.

After getting settled in our home, I looked up (a year later) and declared, "I have a lot of bandwidth that's getting wasted." I started searching for ways to do good. There's nothing wrong with being a do-gooder :) That and we have a housekeeper come every other week. OUR TIME has value and it's a price we're willing to pay. It frees up the weekend. As we've gone through a couple of job scares in the last year we laughed that Alice would be one of the last luxuries to go. She keeps the peace :)

Ronda

Stacey!!!!

You're so young! :lmao: So young. :rotfl2: I don't know what the he## I''m laughing about. I guess cause I'm old. And so cute Stacey. :lovestruc

Ronda - I adore intervals (quick switching between short cardio and weights over and over back and forth) re questions about how to get the weights in.

Paula - lots, eh? Is Donna single? Does she live with you too? I know you've probably said but I forget. How's Papa feeling? Don't you love I'm giving him a new name. :rotfl2:

Nancy - you see you've made me curious now. What is Erin up to that's new with you?

Crap Steph - I must go back. I think I missed something about the job. Here we go. This is what I wanted to say. Stay firm Steph. Stay firm.

Lisa PR - I have a bone to pick with you. Please for the love of God send me to your race pics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will haunt you in your dreams. You have no idea about Cutie and I!!! Amd your sarcastic talk about hubby - it amuses me to no end. I don't know if that's good or bad - laughing. :lmao:;) You have a way with words Lisa. You must fly some pretty good zingers his way, eh? :dance3:

Nothing bought as yet. Gosh I feel tired just to keep looking. I should be excited. I keep having this feeling like I want to go home. Shutting up now. :lmao:

Kelly!!!! WW. Good for you.

Hi Lisa Z!

Amy - So is Delena into everything right now? Oh Gosh - growing so quickly.

Yes Lyz - entertain me. It's my God given right to be amused by you.:rotfl:

Liz - :lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc

Erika - can't wait for the TR.

Dawn - where'd you go?

:lovestruc to all. Roddy!!!!! Where for art thou? Kitty Kat - if I"m coming on during the only playoffs that matter (which are wonderful by the way:lovestruc) you can come on during that ridiculous other type of playoffs. :lovestruc;). Miss you.

Cutie! Get this. So I'm making dinner for my parents last night. And you know what goes through my head. Are you ready?

That one of my dreams is to whip dinner at your husband! :lmao: My dream. :lovestruc:rotfl: And I'm a good shot too!:thumbsup2

I've becoming so incredibly evil. :3dglasses

Nancy, Erin loves you, it's how we show our love for clients that have "it".

I know. She loves working with us :lovestruc because we work so hard. But she is on a mission to fit into a little black dress for a wedding this weekend - and WE are paying for that :scared1:

No matter how few the number of balls that I am juggling at any given time, I always seem to still drop one. To paraphrase Dori - Just keep going, just keep going.

I feel the same way, Paula. Sleep. I think I need more of it :cloud9: and I definitely need to have less balls to juggle

I don't know what the he## I''m laughing about. I guess cause I'm old.

shut it. I'm the same age you are, so you just called me OLD

Nancy - you see you've made me curious now. What is Erin up to that's new with you?

Ugh. She's just pushing us to the next level, kwim? She is making us do things that we never thought possible. It's good, really. But so freakin' hard sometimes.
