In Search of My Body....Not the One I ATE! Vol. 5: Goddesses are Always on Top!

OMG, wicked drunken post. :lmao: Jeff had shots lined up for us. Yes, just the two of us. We do this. Have I mentioned that I am loving him lately? Yes, we are really getting along and having fun right now. It has to do with his whole job stress stuff. We are both feeling like "us against the world" if that makes sense. But it is great marital bonding.

I agree with Lyz! Being sick bites, but being sick on a holiday is brutal. Get better soon Paula.

That's awesome!

Happy Monday everyone. One more week to vacay for me!!! :woohoo:

Just a quickie check in as the new computer is having hemorrhages off and on so I have to stay off certain sites...:rolleyes1 IT keeps coming in to check randomly. :surfweb:

Anyway, for the challenge. Still on track. Holding goal weight so -3 lbs overall right now. Miles for the week are 49.16. Yeah I looked at that and went  as it is ALL foot miles. No biking last week at all. Just insane. So I read an article in Runners World over the weekend that Kara Goucher is running over 100 miles a week training for Boston. The difference between training to run and training to win...double miles...:scared1::scared1: Guess I will just stick to running.

My 20 miles went okay yesterday. The wind was blowing upwards of 40 mph and it was all of 35 degrees (it will be 75 in Nashville the day of the race) but I layered up and went out anyway. I still have this hacking cough going on and was giving myself a load of crap the whole way. At 11 miles, I got hit by a wind gust that literally took my breath away. It was right dead onto my face. Then I started coughing with all the extra effort and called Mike. I finished out another 9 miles using my Leslie Sansone walk DVD. Not the best quality miles but miles just the same. Overall, I had an 11:45 mpm average with the last 9 miles walking. At least I know I can finish the marathon with walking if I have to. I hope not to have to. Still looking for between a 5 hour and 5:30 finish time and I think it is doable under race circumstances. This is a proving thing to myself. I did not believe I could run an entire half until I did it in WDW so maybe, just maybe, if there is another marathon in my future (Goofy IS still open) I can run that 4:45 time...:scared: or not...

Have a great day everyone and someday I will catch up when I have more time. This week, 3 more long runs, hair appointment, chiropractor appointment, oh yeah, and packing...:headache:

Morning all!

Easter is done. The food was eaten, the wine was drank (drunk? whatev.) Today I'm moving on.

Just saw a Today show clip - the Duggars are making a "big announcement". I can hardly wait. :scared:

Oh no, #19 maybe?

Tonight is my super late night. I have to work until 10pm (11pm for all you East Coasters). Yuck! I hope I don't have to take any supervisor calls after 9pm. I'm not looking forward to it at all.

Happy Easter everyone!!!!

Nothing big going on here. I am still sick, so no Easter events for me. My family is down the street at our neighbor's house enjoying easter dinner. I have been sipping Gatorade and eating Saltines for the second day now. I did try some unsweetened applesauce and so far that seems to be holding its own. We shall see. Tomorrow's weigh in (assuming I make it there) should be interesting. If only the loss would last I'ld be fine.

Anyways - hope you are all enjoying this special day with friends and family. Easter is about rebirth so let's celebrate that!

Paula
O poor you Paula! The kids have something too! Not effecting them that bad but still they aren't themselves. I do hope you feel better and that someone saved you a plate. Good luck on the weigh in.

Please don't fall over a goat!:lmao:

I could hardly wait to hear the news... I was figuring that Josh and Anna were expecting! ANd I was right. Hold on WORLD they are starting the Duggars part 2. Wonder how many they will have. Lets see she is 20.. @20 years of reproducing! OH MY UTERUS!

So good times were had by all yesterday! We did breakfast with my mom! Only after the kids had us up at 630 am because OMG the EASTER BUNNY HAD COME! Even poor Sam was up! Stephen got up at 500 and hid easter eggs through out the house! THe kids had fun looking for them! We skipped Church this year, I honestly didn't want to deal with the drama that is going on in my church. I have gone every sunday for the last four years, but the Drama going on with the ministers Family is just getting to much so I haven't been going! Easter Sunday would be no different, it may have been even more because the WHOLE FAMILY would have been there. So I skipped it.
Got some unexpected news, my SIL announced that she was leaving her husband, that was kinda not that unexpected but the shocker was that she is seeing someone. Someone close to the family. I kept all comments to myself, seeing I don't live in her shoes I can NOT judge! But as for her leaving her husband I think it's time he is an alcoholic and doesn't like to work. She is struggling to make ends meet ever month and he just sits on the couch and drinks.

Lyz here is the photo of my flower bed with the new wall around it! There used to be old rotting rail road ties where the stones are now.
V
CIMG2891.jpg

I can't wait to plant flowers in it! I bought a Butterfly flower garden mat to plant in the center of it and then I plan on doing tomatoes and lettus and maybe pumpkins and water melons ( the boys got seeds to start those)
Ok off to clean up the house and then tan and then off to work!

Oh no, #19 maybe?

No, Grandchild #1. Good Lord. Can you even imagine? What's next? The Duggar Family Compound Expansion Project :lmao:

Steph - big plans for your garden! :hippie: Looks so nice all tilled and ready to plant. I still have to get out and finish cleaning out my perennial beds.

 for your SIL. I'm sure that things have been difficult.

Paula! No fair. I call a *time out*on your bugg. Doesn't it know it's Easter!

I know... this is really starting to piss me off at this point...

I am home today because I have been banned from the hospital. Just got the call from my sister that Dad is out of surgery and all went well (thank you God). He'll be in the recovery room for a few hours so they kicked my mom and my sister at of the hospital to get some lunch and some fresh air. Once he is placed in his real room, I'll sneak up there so I can see him and then come back home. Don't want to get him sick with this on top of his knee replacement.

Thanks for all the well wishes. Still hoping to make it to JC tonight (loving the number on my home scale, but I don't think I'll be able to maintain it once I start eating and hydrating again).

Oh - question for you exercise gurus. At what point should I start working out again? The stomach is calming down, but haven't eating anything more than dry toast and cereal today. Was thinking I may try some lean protein and rice later, but not sure if I should cancel my appt. w/ Jesse tomorrow or not. Thoughts?

Kelly- Edward AND Wine?? Lucky! :lovestruc

:lmao:

Lisa, I don't think you seem like constant drama. And you know I'm not just saying that!

Besides, I can barely keep anything about anyone in my head right now. For instance, I spoke to Jodi tonight about bringing something over. 5 mins later I call her back to tell her something else about it, and she was like, yes, I know. We JUST talked about this! :rotfl:

See? My mind - not there!

But do what you need to do. :thumbsup2

I literally have very little going on. It's WONDERFUL. Have to make food for tomorrow. Word.

So made me smile.

ugh... feel like total crap today... Jesse sent me home after about 20 minutes of a light workout because I had lost all color in my face. I am off to become one with my bed now so I can kick this before Dad's surgery on Monday...

Have a great Easter everyone!

Sorry Paula. :hug:on the surgery.

Hi everyone :flower3:

So I have finally packed! I know, nothing like leaving it till the last minute! Still got a million and one things to do, so this is just a fly-by!

Roddy - Hi! Thought of you earlier - theres a new Dr Who episode showing in 10 minutes, an Easter special!

Lyz - Love your eggs :lovestruc

LisaV - Take some time for you, no apologies needed

Everyone - sorry if Ive missed anything :flower3:

Be back later :upsidedow

Crap. Sorry I missed you Kelly. Hope you're having fun.

Kelly - have a good time in Cyprus. And take pictures so we can see you in your dress.

Regarding you MIL - well you could take the high road, but I don't advise it. Lol. You can be sweet and snarky all at the same time. If you dish her crap back at her, there are 3 possibilites, all of which are in your favor.
1. Nothing will happen and everything will stay the same. Eh.
2. She'll be really annoyed with you. Who cares at this point, right?
3. She might be respect you. Bullies only bully people who let them.

So when she cuts you down or belittles you, snark right back. And then come tell us, so we can laugh and laugh and laugh.

How long are you gone? Will you be checking in?

My God. Jean's long lost twin. :lmao:

That's cause you're on their "list".

LisaV - your red trench. Featured in April's InStyle Magazine. Page 135 (I think). How cool is that! You are on the cutting edge sista.

Happy Easter Everyone! The next time you hear from me, I will have eaten too much, said too many inappropriate things, and above all, repeatidly reminded my little one that Easter is NOT about the Easter Bunny. Good times.

Take a picture of the picture. Oh you said April. I guess I could get off my lazy behind and check it out, eh?

Okay, Erika - I just LOVED this. Just LOVED it. Made me happy to read.

It's so the truth. People can go both ways. Just really smiling. Kudos to both of you. Glad to hear that he's dealing with everything at work.

Jean and I, although we are not together, have always felt that. Just last night I said, "I am so proud of us".

Erka, I didn't miss the new changes, did I?

Kat!. Stop with the legitimate. Feelings are feelings. But I know that you're just being sensitive to what some of our friends are facing.

Hi to everyone. Paula - good to hear that he's out. As for the workout. I think rest periods are highly underrated. When would the rescheduled day be? Or when is your next time with Jesse?

The reason I actually stated I would be off is because we have some really sweet people on this thread that I didn't want to worry. Ms. Steph is so sweet that sometimes she checks on me if I'm off - even when I'm just busy. :lovestruc Steph.

Me - I am still struggling but feeling like I'm less in it right now. And when I'm fully in I'm just so needy and that makes things worse.

I am hopeful that male's sexuality will not take me down one day. :lmao: Well isn't that a cute sentence?

Oh crap - I didn't even think of the worst translation.:lmao::laughing:

Life is so funny sometimes. Don't mind me while I totally entertain myself. ;)

Nancy - Hope you really took in my compliment - I know you commented on it. But really took it in cause you look fantastic. I know you have goals - and they are important - but take in how great you look.

We have a milk campaign here. I assume it's a Canadian advertisement. It says something to the effect of -

Oh crap I'm going to kill it. I should go look it up. :surfweb:

“Why lose sleep over the shape of your body when you can wake-up and get into shape?”

“Is it better to have a body in shape than obsess about the shape of your body?”

Just got the call from my sister that Dad is out of surgery and all went well (thank you God).

Good news, Paula. Here's hoping for a speedy rehab for him as well.

Oh - question for you exercise gurus. At what point should I start working out again?

whoo boy. You may not want to ask me  If I am upright, I'm exercising. Maybe not at the same intensity as when I am healthy, but I'm moving my body. You may not have enough strength yet to work with Jesse, however - but I personally would be in the gym doing what I could.

but then again - some people have been known to call me obsessed. Not sure why :rolleyes1

:lmao: I thought that was the campaign! :lmao: I was thinking what a horrid advertising slogan - then I realized what you really meant. :lmao:

I like those Lisa. Thanks for sharing. And yes, I do realize that I'm O.K. "as is". So much of it for me is how I feel. And right now? I feel like the Pillsbury Dough Boy! I totally over-indulged yesterday :rolleyes1

Hi gang,

Dad is on his way to his room, so I am going to be storming the hospital soon. I am actually a little hungry (yeah) so I am going to attempt to eat some protein, see how it sits and then head over to see dad.

Not sure what to do about tomorrow's session with Jesse. I may try it and just take it slow. We'll see how it goes I guess. I am stubborn and don't want to lose my momentum despite what my body is telling me.

Gotta run... I'll check in with you all later.

Thanks again for the well wishes...

Paula

PS - I am reading everything... sorry I can't respond to you all right now.

Feeling hungry is great news!

I almost forgot to check in with my challenge!

For the week ending yesterday:

Tracked - 6/7 (not yesterday. But the rest of the week was bang-on!)
Water - good
Alcohol - only yesterday - I had some wine
Exercise - 1455/1800 - pretty much on track. I'm ending my challenge this Friday as we are leaving on Saturday for San Antonio.

You know what Paula I'm a load of crap. Jean and I are always fighting about "you're sick. You're spent. You shouldn't be working out" And guess what - we both ignore each other, give each other a glare, and workout. When I'm on a schedule I am very stubborn. Very. Little takes me off. That's why this week has been so strange. I've still been on hour long intervals every other day but I never struggle on this end and to do six days straight and it's hard.

So I think your plan is good. I came on to say that and Nancy already did. It might be the release you need.

However, that doesn't change my mind about rest being highly underrated. I do six days on/two off on purpose. There is nothing like that first day back on after two. Nothing. I feel so incredibly strong.

Stubborn. Stubborn. Stubborn all of us.
