In Search of My Body....Not the One I ATE! Vol. 5: Goddesses are Always on Top!

Hi everyone! I am IN THE WEEDS! So I'll have to comment to everyone later. Miss you!

Miss you too.. Hang in there!

Just came in from eating lunch out in the park (greek salad w/ feta from my favorite vendor "The Big Fat Greek Truck" - YUM!!!!). It is really nice out there, temps in the mid 50's and sunny. So did not want to come back inside to my windowless hole under the stairs (yes, my desk is under a set of stairs leading to the roof - let the Harry Potter jokes begin), but here I am. Only 3 1/2 hours left and I am outta here.

Found some of the 'dangers' of Facebook today. A guy I dated ever so briefly after my friend's wedding just found me and did the whole friend request thing. (he was the best man, my friend was the bride and another of my friends encouraged me to do this as we were seated at the dreaded singles table together) He is a nice enough guy, but way too boring for my tastes. To friend or not to friend... oh the questions. Its not a big deal as nothing really happened there, but do I want to open that door up again? I'll figure something out, but just thought I would provide a little excitement to the thread by sharing.

Who knew that a simple little friend request could add a little stress / excitement to one's day? Sad huh...

Anyways - time to get back to work. I am working through a door and hardware schedule at the moment (Come on you all wish you were me right? :rotfl2: Please... :rotfl:)

Paula

Yeah Amy, I'm a Harry Potter fan. I'm ready for July to get here. I really didn't become a fan until I saw Order of the Phoenix. I had seen parts of the first two movie and was like "Meh, they're pretty good for kid movies" and didn't watch anymore of them. Then my brother brought me some of his movies to watch and Order of the Phoenix was in there. I was like "Oh, this must be the latest HP movie, I guess I'll watch it." I did, and loved it. So, then I went back and watched "Goblet of Fire" and loved it too. Now I'm quietly anxious for "HBP" to come out. On the inside, I feel like one of those nerds sitting outside the book store dressed like HP and Ron waiting for the doors to open. But on the outside I appear nonchalant about it. :lmao:

But it's all LIES. :rotfl2:

I go to HP opening nights! Well, I go to many opening nights, truth be told. Kevin Smith movies, HP movies, Spiderman franchise, will be there for Transformers 2 - Josh Duhamel fan. Sex the the City, remember I made low cal Cosmos and snuck them in for all my girlfriends!

I love movies. Movies make me happy.

Cedric is a good character, but I haven't seen the movie since R Pattz invaded my life. I remember him being smoldering. Apparently RPattz is the smolder king. Hey, like Keanu, I don't care if he can act.

Speaking of acting or the lack therefore of, I saw Fast and Furious and LOVED it. It might make you start saying "Ride or Die" a lot, but it's super fun and unintentionally hilarious. I'd sneak in a Happy Snap, personally.

I love movies too. Yet, as with music, my taste seems to be a little off from other people's. One of my favorite movies of late is "The Holiday". I thought it was a good movie. And not just because Kate Winslet was in it. :rolleyes1

I have to say I was saddened and dismayed at the fact they'd made another Fast/Furious movie. But, I may still watch it. I tend to find movies and parts of movies funny and/or interesting where other people are like, "Huh? What funny about that" but I came to terms with the fact that I'm weird a long time ago. :lmao:

Keanu Reeves lol, for fun my brothers say it like "Canoe". :rotfl2:

Liz - my sister has been bugging me to go see the new Fast and Furious movie. Guess I am going to have to go. Oh and Transformers is a favorite. I am looking forward to the next one as well.

I'm not a movie person at all. It's too much of a time commitment. I need light and quick, i.e. sitcoms.

Nancy - are you making gum or chewing gum to stay out of the sweets?

The girls and I colored eggs last night. I blew the eggs out of the shells, so I could not worry about spoilage and set them out. What I didn't realize was, they would float! We had to hold them under the dye. Which was a pain. Here is the display from different angles. Also, I was trying to decorate them using waterproof tape and while they look good, they definately look "home made".

And here are progress pics. This striped one, I wanted to be the vibrant green and blue, but the blue ruined the green. I guess I'd have to use a negative layer of tape for that, and that'd be a ton of work.

Lyz - your easter eggs are beautiful!!!

They make me smile! :goodvibes

Love them all.... Great job!

Awesome eggs Lyz. Great colors - I like the tape idea. We're not planning to color any eggs, but I do like egg salad and I put eggs in my tuna and chicken salads.... hmmm...

I am getting ready to run C@%K W9D3. That's it. I'll be done. I plan to run 30 minutes every other day until I think of something better. Most half marathon training programs last 14 to 16 weeks. That gives me over four months to find some speed1! I am pitifully slow.

I have today off - holiday for the financial set - but it's been far from relaxing. I am still messing with the little Habitat benches. It's my weekend for laundry and I'm trying to get ahead. We had an energy audit today. They put a big fan in the front door and say, "wow, look at how much air moves through here!" The house is 70 years old and we're trying to tighten it up. The local electric utility will rebate a bunch of money if we get the audit and implement one of the recommendations. After he finally cleared out I ran a bunch of get and put errands. Now safely back home I have a very small dog curled up and sleeping in my lap.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Ronda

Paula - Jesse's fierce, eh? Holy cow. Thanks for that - inspiring. FB, oh FB. ;)

Lyz - I was like cutie made a gay egg, cutie made a gay egg. But no, eh? :rotfl::lmao::rotfl: I'm so laughing. I loved the pictures.

Roddy - hi!

Amy - saw the marathon on fb. Forgive me if I missed it here or I'm letting the cat out of the bag.

People - I need your Disney marathon dates - is this the January one?

Liz - Hope you all have a fabulous time at your luau. :lovestruc

Me - Sighing. I answered Erika's Q about why I'm down a couple of nights ago and edited before work. I edited Cutie. Thought those days were over, eh?

I'm struggling. Everything is difficult. Eating consciously and even exercising - which I never struggle with. (Thanks for asking Liz)

It's attached to my pictures I posted from VB. I don't know how to explain this all without sounding like an absolute 12 year old lunatic. And part of me has kept it off here because it's hard for me to post such crap around others who are truly hurting/facing important issues. Someone, who I want to be clear was not being lurid, gave me some compliments that were a tad on the sexual side in my mind. Remember it's my mind - not to be seen. And I've struggled and struggled since that moment. It's like I can't hold the pictures or the compliments. I know this seems small and silly - I know. But it's huge, unfortunately. And draining me. I feel like I want to go to sleep for a year. Sighing. But if I can push through these feelings it will be an important breakthrough for me.

Okay, let's see if I can keep it on this time. :rolleyes1

Hi and love to everyone. Most days I simply don't know what I would do without you guys. So thank you. :lovestruc

Liz, I'm watching Elvis Costello and Sting right now. And Sting is blond, thank God. Just thought I would share that.

Costello has a variety show here - married to a Canadian - Diana Krall.

Anyway, I used to adore Elvis Costello. Loved him. And I'm sitting here thinking how much I have let go of what I used to love. Interesting. Tennis, photography and Elvis Costello. :lmao:;)

Hey Lisa! :wave2: Oh, that just made me think of something. Does anyone remember that song "Lisa, Lisa" by Pauly Shore? :rotfl2:

Well, I can't believe I said that I'd planted a garden and didn't say what I'd planted. So, I planted zucchini, yellow squash, large cucumbers, small cucumbers and peppers. I have no idea what kind of peppers they are, they were free at the place because they'd lost the tag that said what they were. :rotfl2:

I'm hoping for hot peppers, jalapenos, banana peppers or something. But, with my luck they'll be bells. Which is ok, but I prefer hot peppers. Oh, and tomatoes for the rest of my family. Blech. :lmao:

Paula

Eating lunch outside on a nice day is priceless, so refreshing. I am truely jealous Paula. It stormed again today (hail and tornados in the surrounding area). Ah, the joys of being on the edge of tornado alley.

As far as the guy on fb ~ was he a jerk to you? Or did you not mesh well? If it is meshing, I say go for it. You can always delete him. If it was that he was a horses behind, ignore away.

Oh, oh! I forgot to add: at least your desk area doesn't have a door too. That would be so bad.

Don't you just love sneaking stuff in? I am guilty of brining in a container of sushi. I so can't wait for Transformers 2.

For me, Easter eggs represent spring. Even as a kid, I equated dying Easter eggs to the weather changing. They are adorable!

I need to find some time to buy Easter basket goodies with a quickness - making vacation themed basket for the kiddos (Sunglasses, sunscreen, maybe a digital camera if I can swing it, I don't know what else yet).

Fun. My kids don't care about Easter Baskets anymore. Cash. that's all they are after

Thanks for the reminder on the biking. I am going to the bike shop this weekend to begin shopping for my bike. My race is like 15 weeks away and I so need to get started on training...

Bike shopping. :yay: Good luck. Ask lots of questions. Take test rides. Make sure it's exactly what you want!

Good Morning All.

:dance3: Roddy is back. Missed you Roddy!!

Hi everyone! I am IN THE WEEDS! So I'll have to comment to everyone later. Miss you!

I'm right there in the weeds with you Erika. So far behind in life I'm not sure I'll EVER catch up. Can I declare "life bankruptcy"? :confused3

Who knew that a simple little friend request could add a little stress / excitement to one's day? Sad huh...

I get such angst sometimes. Do I friend them? Do I UN-friend them? Why do they want to be my FB friend? Oy. It's enough to make one crazy :upsidedow

I'm not a movie person at all. It's too much of a time commitment. I need light and quick, i.e. sitcoms.

Me too. Can't even remember the last time I went to the movies. Speaking of movies, my boys are watching "My Cousin Vinnie". funny

Nancy - are you making gum or chewing gum to stay out of the sweets?

Chewing was the plan. Plan flew out the window however, and I ate some of the carrot cake scraps from when I leveled the cake before frosting. :rolleyes1

Your eggs! Beautiful. You guys did a great job.

I am getting ready to run C@%K W9D3.

:lmao: Please Ronda. Tell us how you really feel. Keeping things all bottled up inside isn't good for you.

Hope you got some good feedback on your energy audit :goodvibes

I'm struggling. Everything is difficult. Eating consciously and even exercising - which I never struggle with. (Thanks for asking Liz)

Sorry you are struggling Lisa :flower3:

I'm not so much struggling as I am floundering. I just feel like it's been 1 step forward and 2 steps back all week. Nothing bad. No crisis or trauma, or drama. Just a frustrating week. But the good news in it all is I am still tracking and still exercising. And even though I did indulge in some carrot cake today, I tracked it all and made it work.

Speaking of work - I have to work tomorrow morning - early too :headache:. So time for me to go to bed. Need to get up early enough to get in some kind of run before I go. And I should staple my lips shut so that I can't EAT anything :rotfl:

The FB guy is harmless. I ended things because he lived in LI and I was upstate and he was a bit dull. Just didn't click. I will likely friend him and see what happens. Not thinking much will come of it though.

Amiee - heard about the storms... scary stuff.

Nancy - sorry to hear that you feel like you are floundering. We are here to help if we can.

LisaV - sending hugs...:grouphug: not sure what we can do to help, but we are here.

I am off to bed. Have a good night everyone!

Happy Friday Evening everyone!

Roddy-No need to hide your true feelings about HP. HP is awesome. I was so sad when they postponed the release of HBP. Your veggie garden sounds wonderful!!

Liz--You definitely need to rewatch GOF. RPatz IS smoldering as cedric. And Edward. i still have not gotten over my twilight viewing from this afternoon.

Erika-Any input on a training plan your running guy can give would be great!! I am planning on venturing in to my running store and inquiring about any groups that I may be able to do long runs with. I know a lot of locals do the marathon, there has got to be at least a few people that I could run with. I am very concerned about probably having to do the longest training run around the holidays. Ugh. But it will be worth it when we cross the finish line and head to EPCOT for the drinks!!

Lyz- Loved the egg pics! I am going to try and do a few tomorrow night.

Paula- Hope you are feeling better soon! :wizard:

EE-I got my phone on Ebay. Someone whose name begins with a D and ends with an A spilled something on my phone and I needed to get a new one. My contract was no where near over so I looked on ebay and got one for way below what verizon would have sold me it for.

Slightly buzzed here, so if something doesn't make sense, feel free to blame the third glass of wine I just had!!

Roddy, love the garden. I always wish I planted one but it's a lot of work and my house, with land aplenty, is just a mess outside. Also, I sort of kill living things that aren't pets or children. Plants hang on for dear life with me. I can barely keep houseplants alive. My dad's a big grower. I think he feels sad when he sees my half-dad stuff. However, i do have landscaping that he designed! When it's alive.

Lisa, I loved that concert this summer. Yes, things I used to love. BNL. The Tragically Hip. Elvis Costello. Oh, so many bands. That was an amazing concert, though. Elvis Costello and The Police.

Ronda, WOW. You're done! How does it FEEL? Tell me! Just finished W3!

Lyz, those eggs look amazing. I watched Martha do them on TV today. She wears gloves and holds them down. And covers them in lace for patterns. You basically did what she does!!!

LisaV- And you did not spoil anything about the marathon. It is the one in January!

Ronda- WTG on finishing C25K! I think you will find your speed to increase steadily now. I know I have. And all of this training will be worth it when you cross the finish line at the Donald in January. :goodvibes

Thanks Paula. Bang on. Nothing. No one can do anything, except me. I just so incredibly tired - that's all.
