In Search of My Body....Not the One I ATE! Vol. 5: Goddesses are Always on Top!

PAU-LA! PAU-LA! PAU-LA!

YOU ARE A GODDESS! Through and through! I am so freaking amazed and inspired! So proud and so proud to call you my friend! WOW!

Just wanted my post to Paula to stand on its own.

Liz--glad dinner went well. How is the bathroom coming anyway?

Amy--nope, no swimming involved AT ALL! And as Pete always says, "Stay out of the damn lakes!" :rotfl2: (He ends every podcast with that! He gets so irate when he sees WDW guests swimming in the lakes. His rants about it are truly funny! They give that warning all the time and talk about locals who have died from the amoebas.)

So no, no water involved at all. Just mud. And it isn't over your head! :rotfl2:

That would be SO MUCH FUN if we can work it out. Jeff and I are still planning the before/after stuff. Not sure what we are doing yet, but we will be finalizing plans in the next few days. The main problem, I think, would be the bike since both teammates need to use the same bike. And since you have legs that go up to my ears :worship: I don't know if we could manage that or not. I will look into what people do in those cases. There must be some way to handle that.

And if we can't make the race work, please, let's try to plan drinks. Can you pencil it in for the night of the 9th? I know we will be there that night for sure, and since J and I will so much time together on the ship, he won't mind watching the kids for the evening while we go out. :cool1:

Name, Age, and Family - Nancy(42), married for 20 years to Stephen (46) with 3 kids Seth (17.5) Nate (almost 16) and Becca (13)

Weight Loss Program, History and Current Goals - Lost 45 pounds on WW. Maintained that loss for oh, 4 or 5 years, and slowly regained about 15 pounds. For the last few years I've been battling back and forth. Reaching goal, then slowly putting 5-7 lbs back on. Then taking it off. And putting it on. I'm currently in the "it's almost all back off" again phase of my cycle.

Favorite Exercise and Healthy Snack-Love to work out. Love it. Love to run, bike (especially on my road bike). Currently big into the weight lifting and strength work. I'm leaning out and feeling buff  Healthy snack? Ha. If I liked healthy snacks I wouldn't be in this mess, would I!

Favorite Indulgence - wine. Red wine. Red, red wine. Red, red wine you make me feel so fine, keep me rockin' all of the time (are you singing with me yet?:confused3 ) But. Been on the wagon for about 2 months now. <sigh>

Best Disney Pixie Dust/Magic Story Wow.Ok - Not pixie dust or magic, but always makes us laugh.

We took the kids to Disney for the first time in October of '99. Nate was 6. We ended up in the very front seat on the Great Movie Ride. Nate was sitting nearest the "driver". When we hit the Wild West scene where the ride is "high jacked" Nate FREAKED, started swinging and nearly clocked the "high jacker". Took the guy by surprise :lmao: I had to hold him back and explain that it was ok. They were all actors, and it was part of their "show".

Checking in & catching up on it!

I don't remember the last time I checked in, but I have been tracking and on-target. For today:

Food: 27 points

water: good

Alcohol: none.

Exercise: killer  Circuit training - 75 minutes. Total to date 1940/2100.

And because Lyz and LisaV will ask, here is the description of the Muddy Buddy race:

Each race features a 6-7 mile course and 5 obstacles. At the start of the race, one team member will run and one will ride the bike. At the 1st obstacle, the rider will drop the bike, complete the obstacle, and begin running. The runner will arrive, complete the obstacle, find their bike, and begin riding. Teams will continue leapfrogging each other through the entire course. At the end of the race, racers will crawl through the infamous Mud Pit crossing the finish line together!

So each of you basically has to run 3 miles, ride 3 miles, and complete obstacles along the way. Doesn't it sound like a RIOT?!?! OMG, SO much fun!

It does sound like a riot. It so does. I so love my life. Races, races everywhere. And I don't even have to run. :lmao:

As for your Delena comment Ms. Erika, Amy cover her ears, Piss off!:rotfl: :lmao:;)

Have you told you all how much I love Piss Off. :lovestruc :surfweb:

I remember that... it is up with with when Liz gave her parking spot to Bruce. :rotfl:

OK - report time. Weighed in at JC tonight and lost 1-1/2 pounds. Can I just say how much more I like the weeks when it is not TOM than when it is? Very happy about that. My JC consultant keeps telling me how much she is loving Jesse right now. I can't keep telling the guy how big his fan club is getting. His head will get absolutely huge. I told him about you all and he is like, bring them in when they come to town. We'll work out.

Went to the gym to do some cardio and totally rocked out on the bike. Was feeling good so I did three sets of intervals and an extra five minutes of straight spinning. Felt awesome when I was done. Now, I have to actually do some work work (yuck), but it has to be done.

Fantastic Paula. Congrats.

Liz, Erika--Thank-you! :goodvibes  I was looking at the disney pics from this weekend and realized it was the first trip in a long long time where I didn't totally hate any pictures of myself. Somehow MIL got a pic of me in my bathing suit and I didn't even hate that. It motivates me to continue on.

That's so lovely Amy. So happy to hear that. Truly inspiring. :lovestruc You look fabulous. Such a noticible change with the last bit, eh?

Yes, Delena is getting so big. She's at that half baby girl/half little girl stage.

The water. I don't get it Erika. They swim at FW for the Athletes for a Cure Triathlon, don't they? :scared1:

Damn. I really want to play! You guys are funny and cooking with fire today!

Okay, back to my life. But have to say, HOMG, Paula! :cool1: Just told Nick about your loss, he is impressed too! Goddess crown!!!!!

Paula, I do feel good. And I threw together a dinner for the inlaws and they loved it and it was low points and I did it in 10 minutes - after being on the phone with Erika while in the grocery store. So I feel really good about that. The dinner and all. And I made things happy even though I was stressed. I succeeded. So I feel successful. So Good God, please let me lose this week!

xoxo to all. Be back to play tomorrow!

Thanks Liz and tell Nick I said thanks. That is awesome about the 10 minute, low point dinner. Gotta love it when things like that work out. Sending you hugs -

PS - check your calendar for Sunday, March 22nd. I am going to be in Long Island that Saturday for Odyssey and since I'll be so close to NJ, maybe we can get together? just a thought...

Getting off the couch to run - very cool
Completing a 1/2 marathon - awesome
Seeing a picture of yourself in a bathing suit that you don't hate - priceless

Total goddess crown for that. Truly inspiring!!!

Erika- AWESOME job on the tri. Just went back and read the report. :worship: :worship: Outstanding placement!!! Love the TRI shirt! are you thinking sub 30 5K for this coming weekend?? I have a 5K on april 4th and I am hoping to take about a minute off my time, so hopefully sub 33, closer to sub 32.

As long as the muddy buddy doesn't involve swimming in any of the water around WDW I would contemplate it. Too many weird amoeba's in the water. Seriously, there have been people who have died from brain amoeba's they got from swimming in FL fresh water. :scared1: : :scared1: :scared1: Are you going to spend some time at WDW on land before/after your cruise?? At a minimum I need to get my butt over there for drinks if you are going to be there.

Paula!! :cool1: :woohoo: on the weight loss. Seriously, an inspiration!!

Amy - thanks... we all inspire each other around here.
Oh and the amoeba thing is just scary...

PAU-LA! PAU-LA! PAU-LA!

YOU ARE A GODDESS! Through and through! I am so freaking amazed and inspired! So proud and so proud to call you my friend! WOW!

Thanks Erika - you are making me blush...

Remember - You all carried me for the past year. Not to mention that I had great teachers in all of you... Where else would I have gotten the idea to enter a bike race or consider doing a 1/2 marathon? Thanks to you all...

I KNOW, Lisa!

And I SO want to do that tri! In fact, LIZ (because she is awesome) sent me a FREE registration form for that tri! FREE! (She got a free entry since she did a Race for the Cure last year and raised so much money! :goodvibes ) And she offered her free registration to me.

But YES, the swim is in that lake! Bay Lake. WTH?!?! I mean, Disney has signs all over the place that says Don't Swim in the Lakes. And then they have a race IN THE LAKE.

I suppose I could wear nose plugs or something, but I think I would have a hard time swimming that way. And I think I would just be all-around skeeved out. :scared:

So, I don't know. Plus, I will have already been to Disney 3-4 times in one year by that point, and I don't know if I can manage to get away AGAIN! :lmao:

/
I'm here. But I'm not alone. Have to work hard at looking like I'm working hard.
:rotfl2:

Sorry! I was...

AT THE GYM.

Spin class! The instructor greeted me enthusiastically by name and said she had missed me. Isn't that nice? :goodvibes After the class, she stopped me, we shared war stories (her son DIED of a brain tumor years ago. How AWFUL is that? ) and she said she'd pray for my mom.

Then I went to buy a water bottle - Paula's exact one - and vitamins and extra D for active women - that's me, didn't you know - and then new running shoes. And then home to shower and eat my veggie burger.

I am Erika's disciple!

Okay, love you all, gotta go get the kids from school. Be back in 20.

Work blows.

Liz ~ awesome about the instructor's recognition. So sad about her son. I can't imagine. Spinning? What did you think about it?

Here's a question...does anyone else have a SO who is trying to improve his/her fitness along with you? My SO works 12-hour shifts 4 days on, 4 days off (day-day-night-night). He REALLY wants to get fit, and has a gym membership (different gym than mine), but like a lot of people has bad eating habits. How do you encourage a loved one without making them feel like you don't like them the way they are, but while supporting them in their efforts? It's really hard!

Cathy, I don't have any experience with this, but I hope you find some advice that helps.

Stephen sabotages a lot. Like can you bake brownies or Boy I wold kill for your cake or honey your such a good cook can you make. Yes along with him I can't resist my baked goods.

Why are all guys like this?!?:headache:

Oh did I mention the trouble that my boys got into the other night while I was at work? My all white cat is now white with a yellow back....... the boys sprayed painted him, along with my washing machine and basement window and door. YEAH I WASN"T HAPPY!:headache:
Ok off to shower so I can go to WW and own my ten pound GAIN!

____________

OMG! Stephanie. As a mom, I feel your frustration with your kiddos. BUT, as an observer :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: I bet they had a ball!

Good luck with WW!

Hey! You're talking about my best friend. The

:rotfl2:

It says to the neutral me, "She likes the banana, it's her choice and she has the right to like the banana if she so chooses. Peace be with her. "

It says to the anti-banana me, "OMG, THE BANANA IS ROBBING HER OF HER INTELLIGENCE AND SHE DOESN'T REALIZE IT. STAY AWAY FROM THE BANANA FOR YOUR OWN SAKE, PLEASE, PLEASE, DON'T TRUST THE EVIL SHENANIGANS OF THE 'PEANUT BUTTA JELLY, PEANUT BUTTA JELLY, PEANUT BUTTA JELLY WID A BASEBALL BAT' BANANA. "

:rotfl2:

After my initial shock and horror! I thought it was funny too!:rotfl2:

Your poor cat! Please tell me that you took pictures!

So cool. Sounds like a load of fun, just stay out of the lakes, lol.

Yeah Paula!!! Keep it up!!!

I am off to read some electrical and fire protection specs. I'll be back to check in later (if I am still awake)
Paula

That just doesn't sound fun at all.

Just wanted my post to Paula to stand on its own.

Oh no! Poor baby (well, don't tell him I said that, far from a baby now).

Amy ~ your quote is missing! Where did it go??? Lil' D is so adorable. Growing up so fast.

I know I am missing some of you. OMG, I need some coffee.

:flower3:

:rotfl2:

That just doesn't sound fun at all.

Trust me it is not. I think reading the phone book or the dictionary would be more stimulating than this.

On everybody else's behalf: PLEASE TAKE PICS!!!!!

WORD!!!

Did the mechanic make it back from Daytona all right?

All of this talk of getting together reminds me...

Who has Disney trips planned and for when? I know there are some trips coming up.

LisaV--you will be in Vero soon, right? Dates?

EE--when?

Cathy--anything?

Anyone else with something in the works?

HOLY CRAP! I was thinking the exact same thing as Liz! AMY!!! You look THIN THIN. Like, always been thin. Just a normal thin girl. Like, totally thin and as though you have always been that way! WOW.

And sweet T on Glenn! :goodvibes

And now LisaV can be happy since she has her Delena fix! :rotfl2:

Roddy, you scare me! :lmao: Too funny!

Ok, ok, I hear what you and Kat and LisaV are saying. I do. But I look at that picture and I just think, "HOW can they NOT see the ginormity?!!? Like, that is the hugest, widest, broadest back ever. How do they not see that?" Seriously, that is what is in my head. And then I think, it must because they can't tell my height. Like, if I was taller, then that broad back would be normal. But I am short at 5'2".

Maybe I will get to a point where I am ok with it. And yes, my Herculean shoulders got me through the tri. So I am trying to give them their props! :rotfl2:

My next race is only 6 days away. Yes, I am racing again on Sunday. Just a 5k. But I want to PR it. We'll see. I am going to see how I feel tomorrow. I am still sore right now.

And NANCY! :lmao: Ha! Totally made me laugh when I was like, "Why do my glutes hurt?" I guess all of my pains are from the swim, since I swam SO hard. Much harder than any training swim.

Do you remember when I was SECOND out of the water in my first tri?

I so agree on Amy!! SO THIN!!!

Once again, if you think that you are the hugest, widest, broadest thing around, then I shudder to think what you think of me!!

Oh and Nance--

Do you have a WDW trip planned? Can't remember. We will be there in May and on May 9th is the MUDDY BUDDY! You said you wanted to do it! How awesome would that be to do together?

I looked on the website and they have them all over the country...everywhere BUT New England! The closest one to use is in Richmond, VA, so too far for a quick road trip. But if you will be in Disney...:rolleyes1 I mean, surely you want to take Seth for a graduation trip, right?

Lyz/EE--I was going to do the MB with my buddy David Parfitt, but Pete isn't sending him on the cruise! Can you believe it? I thought for sure he would be on the cruise! So now I need a partner.

AMY! AMY! Don't you all think AMY should do it with me?!?!?!

Did you know that Richmond is like 2 hours from me? Not that I would do a Muddy Buddy, but it is.

Paula, GREAT job!!!! :yay:

Sorry that I didn't comment more, but I am in a hotel in Greenville, NC because my MIL was rushed to the hospital this morning. Keep her in your thoughts.

I didn't eat well tonight.

WORD!!!

Did the mechanic make it back from Daytona all right?

Yes, he is back. Chatted a bit with him last night and tonight is his poker night. I had to set him straight about the time, lol. His phone didn't reset! :rotfl2: So, he went from central to eastern, then eastern daylight savings and then central daylight savings. He got a new tattoo and can't wait to see it. This makes 2 for him.

Paula...FB yet? Please? Pretty please?

I ran out of time yesterday. I was working on another project. I will get to this tomorrow after my training session. I promise...

I so agree on Amy!! SO THIN!!!

Once again, if you think that you are the hugest, widest, broadest thing around, then I shudder to think what you think of me!!

um hello... last time I checked I was bigger than you (not sure about you with your hockey pads on though and then I think I would be doing my best to stay out of your way...) so I totally agree with what you are saying. We all have parts of ourselves that bug the crap out of us, but please try to keep everything in perspective. It is much healthier on your emotions that way...

Did you know that Richmond is like 2 hours from me? Not that I would do a Muddy Buddy, but it is.

Paula, GREAT job!!!! :yay:

Kat - sending prayers your way... Keep us posted when you can and we are here if you need anything.

Hmmm....tattoos, mohawk, and bike week. Me thinks EE has a thing for Bad Boys. :rotfl2:

yeah... new ink huh? Sounds interesting...;)

OK - I am off to bed. I am beat.

Catch you all on the flip side.

We are going June 13th (trying to cut out of work early on the 12th though) and will be in FL for 2 weeks.

Yep, he called it a tribal scorpion. Whatever that means. :confused3 And the butthead didn't take very many pics. What is up with that???

Hmmm....tattoos, mohawk, and bike week. Me thinks EE has a thing for Bad Boys. :rotfl2:

Bad boy who has his head on straight, lol. :)

:rotfl2:

He also has a house, a hot tub, and a classic car. And <hold on for the bill collector in me to come out> a near perfect credit rating! Yeah, I helped him read his credit bureau. I do have a thing for the bad boy type (as long as he doesn't treat me like a bad boy).
