In search of my body...not the one I ate! Part Deux... We sit at the popular table!

Dear Nancy's Excess,

Please vacate the premise immediately. I know the visit to Olive Garden might have given you the wrong idea, but Ms. AkaSnowWhite is firm in her decision to evict you.

If you do not comply, we will have to take drastic measures.

Sincerely,

:rotfl2: Thanks Liz!

Now - must I get that notarized ?? :rotfl2:

So All THREE of my kids went off today!

:yay: :yay: A day to yourself! And I have to agree - you DORK! :rotfl2: eh- it comes in handy when they are teens. Good behavior means mom won't embarass you...too much... Happy packing!

Had my bike ride - holy moley do I feel the effects of that wine! :crazy2: very sluggish today. And I got bombarded by flying things today as well. Smacked in the lip by some creature, and had another hit my glasses, then fly up and UNDER my glasses- that one nearly caused me to crash! :duck: (I think the squirrels were double-dog-daring them! )

It's off to work for me - think healthy thoughts everyone! :goodvibes

:rotfl: You guys have me rolling. Liz, I need a strongly worded letter too, mmmkay?

Email! TOTALLY wrong. Good for you for calling it.

I was called "lame" for taking first day pics. Molli tried to campaign a few days ahead of said, first day of school pictures, but I shut her down pretty quick. (by the way, she posed for them all with a smile. tweens!)

So, I totally have to go back and comment on the three pages from yesterday. You guys were busy.:woohoo: And I still have like 50 pictures I want to share, just can't seem to find the oomph to download them.

Last night, I went home, got in my jammies, pulled up my hair and sat in the chair reading a book. Course I was interruped with homework, 5year old "needs", (one of which repeatadly discussing what to "be" for Halloween) and Project Runway (very welcome interuption), then bed.

Walked on the dreadmill this morning. Not hard (fast) enough, but, I so wanted to throw in the towel, I figure I am victorious on one level.

Off to get some work in. (quit laughing)

I am so with you on needing a nasty gram to kick my butt in gear...

Also, I read your edit about the purses and I agree. I love the classic Coach bags, but the fashion styles are starting to get old. I am on the hunt for a new purse, but havn't found one yet that speaks to me. I'm thinking croc definitely, maybe patent leather, but then there is the issue of what color... I fell in love with a gray croc birken type bag at Furla, but felt the $300 price tag was a bit (oh who am I kidding about ten football fields) out of my price range... I'm still looking, so I'll keep you posted on the hunt... I may have to venture to the big outlet center outside of NYC to see what I can find. Who knows, I may get a good deal on something...

Today has been a good day so far. Work has been keeping me pretty busy (amazing what piles up after taking four days to work on one critical project...) I couldn't even stay up long enough last night for Project Runway (I know... its horrifying). Good thing they show repeats all week so I can catch it. I know who won and lost, but gotta keep up with the details in between....

Have a good one everyone...
Paula

Thought I'd share a few pics of DD from our vacation in July! She's 14 months old! I am convinced that time has gone by twice as fast since we had her!

OMG!!! I am having the most crazy day. No time for DISsing, and that's really not acceptable.

I have read all 3! pages and would love to post but, three big things pulling me away. Nothing important to me, but everyone else's emergencies. bah.

I'll check in later.

Lyz

My turn today. :headache: :headache:   :headache: :headache: And I was supposed to leave work almost an hour ago for vacay! But got a phone call that strongly advised I reschedule my plans. So I'm ingoring him! (After, of course, putting all required contingencies in place, such as delegating to the team and telling my boss of my plans (both the delegating and the leaving.) At least I've dodged having to go to Seattle or Milwaukee on Monday...

Ok, today. Went to WW and weighed in. Up 6lbs! Whee!!!! YES!!!! It wasn't 10, it wasn't 7, it was only 6! As Erika said, I'm not signing the adoption papers! It's gotta go!

And then I worked until I fell over and then I got a cold. My throat hurts. I HAVE to go to bed! So, I will catch up tomorrow.

Night!!!

How often is it that we celebrate the gains? Of course, it's just visiting. It's not like the 'souvenier' will stay around long, right?

Had my bike ride - holy moley do I feel the effects of that wine! :crazy2: very sluggish today. And I got bombarded by flying things today as well. :rotfl2: I totally get this one - both the sluggish and the flying objects. Sometimes I ride with my hand in front of my face if I'm in the gnat-prone areas. I don't need any extra protein!

OK, so I am in L.O.V.E with the patchwork top - well, your daughter too! My daughter loves patchwork skirts and has asked me to make her a patchwork top - and this one I like the cut of. Have you ever tried teaching a kid to ride a bike who's wearing a patchwork skirt that has a 8.5 yard ruffle along the bottom of it and hangs to midcalf? There's not enough area between her bottom and the bike seat to contan that much fabric!

Off to finish work, then take a conf call in the car while I dash home. So much for leaving at noon and having a leisurely 2 hours to finish packing...

Deb

Deb, Lyz Thanks for the compliments on DD! The patchwork shirt is from Janie and Jack. It is a halter style. That reveals another one of my obsessions, buying way too many cute expensive clothes for DD.:rolleyes1 I would be totally embarrassed to reveal how much stuff she has. The shirt has a matching patchwork hat, but she is in a hating anything on her head phase. And since we were in Maine, she had to have the lobster pj's! And she got a lobster short and shirt outfit...

That email from the coirker was just so dumb. And what he was complaining about in regards to me, had nothing to do with him. Apparently I was being a "pain" and "whiney" because I was in our manager's office asking him to clarify a task he had assigned me. Nothing to do with said coirker AT ALL. isn't it always best to ask for clarification? :confused3 Anyhow, taking the high road on this was SO hard for me to do, but given how cruddy our work situation is anyhow, I figured adding tension from any grudge or anger I might hold on to, would be useless...

have a good afternoon ladies!

Amy
Your little girl is so cute... I miss those little years.. yes years fly by my "little" girl is now 14. I remember dressing her so cute and little ponytails . :rotfl: Yep! I'm there too! DD is going to be 13 in November - looks like she's 16! :scared1: I don't tolerate any clothing that looks....ummm....sleazy. :rolleyes1 And our rule is no dating until you are 16. Luckily, she still thinks boys are SO not worth it! :woohoo: Of course, she has 2 older brothers so she knows how gross/smelly/rude/stupid adolescent males can be. Sadly, some of her FRIENDS have gotten that teenage "crush" illness already. :scared: Some of those girls are so "boy-crazy" it makes me nuts! :crazy2: And their MOTHERS. Don't get me started on mothers who allow their girls to dress and act like little....well...harlots. :rolleyes1

So...(taking a deep breath now)....I've had a good "food & exercise" day. Didn't "sample" my way thru work today  Of course, there is still DINNER to contend with...gotta go figure that one out.

Is everyone on track for the day? :confused3

Hey! I can't believe that this is my first post of the day! That should tell you the type of day I had.

As soon as the kids were on the bus, I had to go up to campus for the morning. I was granted the "corner office" so I had to move into it and get things set up today. It is huge and has a fireplace (that I am not allowed to use, but hey, I can say I have a fireplace in my office! :rotfl2: )

Right around the corner from campus is the running store, so I got my new running shoes today. Nancy/Lisa/Amy--I am switching from NB to Saucany. They felt great. The NB offer more stability that I need. I am pretty neutral...just a tiny bit of pronation. So I am psyched to try these.

But here's the thing...my run tomorrow is a long run. Anywhere from 9-12 miles. In new shoes. What do you think? I asked at the store, and she said that I should just do a 2-mile run today to see how they feel, but I never run at all the day before a long run. Plus, at that point in the day, I didn't have time. I had to get home to meet the bus and then I had the kids for the rest of the day.

What do you think I should do tomorrow? On the one hand, I don't want to do that long of a run on my old shoes...they really have had it and I think I could damage my feet by doing such a long run on worn out shoes. But the same could be true of the new shoes, right? So....:confused3

TOM has been in town all week and I am carb-loading with the best of them. This isn't really a big deal since I am not watching carbs, but still...I am just craving them like mad.

Ok, today. Went to WW and weighed in. Up 6lbs! Whee!!!! YES!!!! It wasn't 10, it wasn't 7, it was only 6! As Erika said, I'm not signing the adoption papers! It's gotta go!

6 pounds is totally manageable. It will be gone in no time. And today is Thursday...how was your run???

OMG, HI LAR IOUS! Loving it!

Thought I'd share a few pics of DD from our vacation in July! She's 14 months old! I am convinced that time has gone by twice as fast since we had her!

Adorable kid you have there! I am digging her lobster-wear (and so is Liz, I am sure...she is like a lobster-obsessed freakshow :lmao: ).

Deb

Have a FAB trip! So glad that you are escaping work hell!

Hi,

Thought I'd share a vintage pic of DD, from about 1 year ago, at about 9 weeks old!

v49fh4.jpg

Erika Maybe meet somewhere in the middle as far as the run tomorrow? I am certainly no expert :lmao: , but maybe 6 or 7 miles? I need to get new shoes too. Preferably before we go on vacay next week. I have pretty flat feet. I love the asics GT2120's that I have, but they seem so heavy sometimes and I wonder if I could get something a little lighter.

Deb you are probably gone, but have a good trip!!

Stephanie Thanks for sharing the pic of your DD! I can't even imagine yet having to deal with all those teenage issues. And seriously could they make the jeans any lower waisted??:scared1: I am all for wearing non-mom jeans ( no offense to anyone who does wear mom jeans of course), but you have to draw the line somewhere.

Run today was a stonker, I was only attempting W7D3 of C25K (only a 25 minute run), but I had horrible horrible side stitches that required me to stop a couple times for a minute or 2. Oh well. At least I got the run in. And can I tell you how much I hate the dreadmill!!!

Just doing a bit of carb loading tonight with my glass of wine. Usually I'd have tomorrow off since I work 9 hour days, but I am working tomorrow so I can use 1 less vacation day the week after next.

Have a good evening!

Amy - she is so cute I could eat her. Adorable!!! I do love lobsters, and lobster-dressed kids. So preppy cute.

Erika - I got nothing for you on the run. As for mine, oh, you're funny, girl. I have a massive head cold and I'm trying to lie here and die quietly. I am hoping I can breathe by Sat so I can run!!! It's going to be here in almost a week...scary. :scared1:

Deb - I hope you got away successfully and are on vacay!

I had more things to say, but my brain is fried. Oh, yes!

Nancy - I am pretty on track today. Tracking it all! This is such a huge change from last week, it's gotta work!

Night, gang.

As soon as the kids were on the bus, I had to go up to campus for the morning. I was granted the "corner office" so I had to move into it and get things set up today. It is huge and has a fireplace (that I am not allowed to use, but hey, I can say I have a fireplace in my office! :rotfl2: )

Nice! I have a fireplace in my office as well! (but of course, that's because my "office" is in my living room! )

I'm stubborn and stupid and tend to ignore most sensible suggestions. :rolleyes1 So, I'd probably go for it. But then again, I'm an idiot like that sometimes  One of the guys that we ran the Disney marathon with has no issue wearing a new pair of shoes the DAY OF the marathon. Now - I may be stupid, but I'd never do THAT!

Is your route tomorrow a "loop" or an "out and back"? Something that if you decide these shoes just aren't doin' it for you, you can cut it short? Maybe you can "hide" your older pair somewhere along the road just in case? :confused3

TOM has been in town all week and I am carb-loading with the best of them. This isn't really a big deal since I am not watching carbs, but still...I am just craving them like mad.

yummm...carbs...I love me my carbs. :lovestruc

Oh! And I have a brother who is single...41 this week, works for ABC (which is of course owned by Disney which means he gets mega perks like free park passes). I'm just sayin...

As for shoes, I am on the other extreme end. I wear a KIDS' size 4. Try getting 4" heels in kid sizes! :rotfl2:

Oh geez that must be difficult with the size four. You win Erika!!!:rotfl: :lmao: ;) Hands down.

As for the brother. This thread gets more and more intriguing. Smiling.

Good Evening Ladies!

and 130 crunches tonight
!

Holy cow Amy!!

Lisa - Hey, girl, it's cool. I got, in marriage, a sister-in-lawish (not my husband's sister, but might as well be) who didn't own one purse. Now she has six. In 12 years. So I'm making progress. ;)

My college BFF is a size 11. It sucks. I'm a 10. Thank God big feet are in now. And I know what you mean - want to try a 9? UM, NO!

Oh, I might make it one day Liz. I get more girlie as the years go on......

I also live all of about 30 minutes from RPI (great engineering program, but not my first choice for architecture).

Paula

Hey Paula. Small world. My nephew just got a engineering scholarship there. But he's deferring until next year because his dream is to get scouted - hockey. So he's playing in Boston this year. Oh, I love Boston. It will be a shock for him because although he has Canadian genes - well they are mixed with Colombian and he has lived his entire life in Southern California.

Anyway, heard good things about RPI's program. So good to know you are seconding that.

Lisa, you are truly a girl after my own heart. I own one purse too. D (Mr Kat) actually brought it home FOR me from some conference, as he manages a luggage store and gets all sorts of crazy crap for free. I never carry it. He got me a nice wallet, too, and I promptly took the insert out, put my bank card and drivers licence in it, and I use that. I do carry (well, roll) a laptop bag to and from work, though.

Shoes... I am a 9.5 in my right foot and a 10 in my left. Which is also a mess, and too wide. My biggest irritation is that shoes wear out. My mom is also an 11, but 11N. AND, she just turned 70. Imagine her 20s!! She was 5'11", as well.

Someday, we will come to the Hockey Hall of Fame, and stop by and say hello...

I am a computer programmer, so feel free to PM if you need help. Well, next week anyhow, since this week I am off and on due to WDW.

Thanks for the help Kathryn. :lovestruc Appreciate it. Hope you are having a good time.

HHOF is only a ten minute walk from me. So come on down (well up:rotfl: ) and we can buy a purse and big shoes in hommage to Liz.

Hi Ladies!

Hope everyone is having a good evening! Pretty boring here..Dinner, wine, walk, pilates, more wine...:rolleyes1

Amy

Doesn't sound a tad boring to me Amy. :thumbsup2

Have a good evening!

cute. cute. cute.

Evening all -
Yes..it is evening still...had to say a few things...

1st - WW - gained...5 pounds...ummm can you say Sate Fair 2 times and the Renassaince festival and then noot being consious the rest of hand to mouth times were not good? But it was in a 2 week time span...so not quite as bad as Liz :thumbsup2 -

sorry Liz - had to make myself feel better and you have the big 75 ribbon and you can suck it up much better than me! :lmao: ;) :worship: Please know I am seriously kidding...actually LMAO in my delerium

Okay - so the game Treyner was benched on is now a huge issue...was in the paper...front page of sports section..named all 6 kids who were benched for "un-excused abscences from practice" which is BS...first..again 1 pratice...not many...second of all what about the jocks who get minors, arrested for theft etc... and are not playing football...did not see their name or their issue blabbed about in the paper...

I was approached by some of the other parents tonight...asked if I would be part of a mtg with the AD on Tues to discuss this...

The coach released the info to the reporters...that pisses me off to no end....he made a unilateral decession..okay he is the coach...then bad mouths them to the media...and then the media does not get it right and makes it sound like there were multiple practices...

I do not know what to do...this coach is the coach who will be Treyner's coach through next summer for the premire league...but at he same time..this was not okay...at all...Treyner is seriously pissed...1/2 the team said they did not know about the practice..and those who did...found out from temmates over the weekend...the coach announced it Friday from what I hear when half of the guys were walking to the lockers...and excuse me...but a Friday annnouncement when the weekend plans are in place may be alittle late notice for some families when it is a 3 day weekend and you want them there by 3:30 p.m. on Monday.

The problem is...Treyner is drug into this because he is one who got benched...they are doing an investigation...interviewing players..etc...and I do not need him blackballed because of this...it already looks bad to have his name in the paper...and any future college coaches to read it and think he blew off practices and had to be punished by a coach...

Advice??

Did well today food wise until...this cr@p at 7pm till now...and then had some mac n cheese and 1/2 a thing of starbursts..and a doughnut...but until then was stuill allowed at least 20 points for the day...and I have my weekly extras...so there they went!

I am going to the YMCA tom...1st time...

Cute kids everyone...and Lisa - excersize is code for afternoon delight...or evening...or mid-morning...or sunset...or sunrise..or midnight...or lunar eclipe for all that matters...

Stephanie's form of exercise requires a partner (we think it is her husband, but at like 6 times a week, we tend to think she's got a little somethin' on the side...;) )
