As soon as the kids were on the bus, I had to go up to campus for the morning. I was granted the "corner office" so I had to move into it and get things set up today. It is huge and has a fireplace (that I am not allowed to use, but hey, I can say I have a fireplace in my office!

)
Nice! I have a fireplace in my office as well! (but of course, that's because my "office" is in my living room!
)
But here's the thing...my run tomorrow is a long run. Anywhere from 9-12 miles. In new shoes. What do you think? I asked at the store, and she said that I should just do a 2-mile run today to see how they feel, but I never run at all the day before a long run. Plus, at that point in the day, I didn't have time. I had to get home to meet the bus and then I had the kids for the rest of the day.
What do you think I should do tomorrow? On the one hand, I don't want to do that long of a run on my old shoes...they really have had it and I think I could damage my feet by doing such a long run on worn out shoes. But the same could be true of the new shoes, right? So....
I'm stubborn and stupid and tend to ignore most sensible suggestions.
So, I'd probably go for it. But then again, I'm an idiot like that sometimes
One of the guys that we ran the Disney marathon with has no issue wearing a new pair of shoes the DAY OF the marathon. Now - I may be stupid, but I'd never do THAT!
Is your route tomorrow a "loop" or an "out and back"? Something that if you decide these shoes just aren't doin' it for you, you can cut it short? Maybe you can "hide" your older pair somewhere along the road just in case?
TOM has been in town all week and I am carb-loading with the best of them. This isn't really a big deal since I am not watching carbs, but still...I am just craving them like mad.
