In search of my body...not the one I ate! Part Deux... We sit at the popular table!

Good morning everyone!

That was definitely a rant and a half!!! I have a mother who is miserable with herself, her life and everything in it too. She takes it out on me as I am the only one out of 3 that lives anywhere close (sister in OK and brother in UT). Lucky me and lucky you too. Take it from whence it comes and remember that misery only breeds misery. I had to finally tell my mom that unless she perked up, she was going to have to find someone else to talk to. I told her she was too negative and she was bringing me down. Do you find that it just saps your energy talking to her....it does me!!

Erica, that just proves what a great mom you truly are. I follow my son around the first day too. My DD is 13 (nearly 14) and she is pretty independent but my baby is only 6 (almost 7) and he still needs me. At least that's what I tell myself!!

A big hi to everyone else and welcome to AmyKab. Nice to see you getting out and about!!

As for me, busy busy busy as usual. Just fitting in my exercise is hard work. With all the visiting family, I am up another 5 which makes me 10 up total now and not very happy about the whole thing. I went out on a 9.5 mile run on Sunday and totally dehydrated myself. Lost 4 of those pounds (obviously not in a good way) but managed to find them again. Since the family left, I have lost 2 total. My DD13 also announced to me that she gained 5 with the family home and I now outweigh her by a mere 2 pounds. Good thing she is all muscle or I would worry!!!!!

I hope everyone has a great day. I am still checking in even though I don't have much time to post. I don't have time to post anywhere and I feel pretty bad about joining, dropping out, popping in and disappearing again. I hope you all know that I am still out there lurking along with you and supporting silently. Keep up all your great work!!!

Now THAT is what I call a rant! :lmao: Holy cow Steph, how do you really feel??? :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Ok, just came here to get myself together a bit before I put my kids on the bus. Yeah, I am a crying mess every year on the first day. And I follow the bus (not like right behind it or anythinig), but I have to see them get off the bus at the school, etc. I know, I know....
Erika I follow the bus to .. Well no I pass the bus and wait at school so I can get a picture of the Kindergartner getting off the bus at school. I have my baby going off to school to this year hey that is three of us with our babies gone!!! We are now semi- empty -nesters!!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
Gosh Steph - that really sucks about your mom. She is supposed to support you not compete with you. I don't even understand that. Didn't you just take her on vacation with your family? UMMM no she brought us! To the cape that was her idea! I left her home on our trip to Ma and ME... didn't think she wanted to go visit my dad.. even though his GF wanted to know why she didn't come with????

Yes, I'd definately give her a taste of life without your help. A couple weeks oughta put her in a pickle. She will either "get it" or she won't. (And you'll probably miss her too.)

I'd tell her why too. Don't play games. Tell her, "since you think were idiots who can't get thru life, we thought you'd be better off seeking assistance from professionals".

Life really is too short and precious for petty bickering.
This is what she has been like MY WHOLE LIFE... nothing I do is good enough I have learned just to say OH well! Deal with it! She was having a fit at the party because Steph got all worked up because SAm took off with FOUR boys into the woods on a cart like ours and she was like oh she's fine there isn't anything wrong with her dating a boy she is old enough! I WAS LIKE HELLO THIS IS THE SAME WOMAN THAT WOULDN'T ALLOW ME TO DATE UNTIL I WAS 16 AND THEN STILL FOREBODED FOR YEARS AND THEN WHEN I FINALLY DID HAVE A BOYFRIEND YOU USED TO HUNT ME DOWN. Her response was I had reason you know look what happened... (I got pregnant!) I would have DUMPED his sorry A$$ before that if she hadn't been such a BIOTCH about the whole thing! I date him a whole month later well lets not say dated .. just exercised with him.:rotfl2:

EriKa - you're crying? There's no crying in back to school! Man up! (really, I think it's sweet the "in control" professor is wheepy to send her kiddo's off to school.) I'm suprised they ride a bus. I just assumed your town was a "drop you children off" town.
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

As for my mother I will just tell her you don't like the house that is FINE keep it to your FU*King SELF and stop talking about me behind my FU*KING back. That is always her biggest down fall is her cattiness and her mouth talking about other people. Well she will have no one left my grandparents are gone, my uncle is in SAMOA (sp)... I think that is where he is. And that is all she has for family.. You'd think that she would want to stay close to the only family that she has left! Not that she is close to my uncle either again petty competition! She is a sorry excuse for a mother!

Um, I checked out aim. Seems like no one is there. Include me in the PM details. Por favor.
I will...and I checked in 2 times yesterday...but no one was showing as on AIM....
Again, welcome Amy. Your timing is perfect. (were you a lurker too?) Ok, you have lost 30lbs by watching portions? Interesting. Gonna need more details. While I subscribe to the whole losing weight the right way, i.e., diet and exercise, I'm the first one to try a gimmick. If you got one, pass it along, sista.

Me too...can I just take a pill and wake up skinny....I mean if we can put a man on the moon for gosh sakes...

They need to make their own beds. Mine hate making beds and I am a stickler about that. So they now sleep on top of the blankets.:thumbsup2 And strangely enough, I'm ok with that. As long as the beds look nice. (my ocd is a strong b*$ch)

I am so not OCD....

Kat, sounds like your having a good time. I'm glad. Hope you do a food report. I want to hear what you ate, and if you liked Tutto Italiana and so forth.I wanna know that too....

Dawn, I can't even believe the saga about your daddy. Was this a mail order bride? Nuts. You, my dear friend, have one CRAZY family. Baylor (and his parents) survive the plane ride?He met her via the internet in 2005...visited in Jan - Feb 2006 and has talked with her ever since...then left to get hitched in August without a clear cut way to get her home...cause ya know the government has a vendetta against people from the Philippines...people from Africa can get here with no problems...(I guess all those slaughtered in Darfur wanted to die.. )He is just an @ss...

I have eaten my way thru the weekend. Bob is home and today is actually his 31st birthday, and I've been cooking and baking like crazy. Since he's been eating out for 2 weeks, I have been "homecooking". We are having a good time. Abscence really does help.
I have not been good for a week also...we all need to ban together...glad love is in the air also...
Ok Need some advise here. Saturday my mom takes the boys while I had hair done and the boys came back saying that "GRANDMA HATES THE HOUSE SHE THINKS ITS GROSS LOOKING.

Kick some butt Steph...it still confuses me when you say you talked to Steph....I keep wondering about multiple personality dissorder...bu by naming a alter ego your same name...would that be with a twist of narcisism...???:lmao:

My dad does that to me...ugh...

My dad was the you are never good enough guy. Hence my first very abusive marriage. Since he has passed, I have learned to forgive him. I seriously would rather have his badgering that the constant guilt trip my mom gives me. She just drains me. Five emails this morning alone!!!!

I am cleaning OCD but my kids have cured me of that!!! The cleaning lady is due any minute........:thumbsup2

e
I will...and I checked in 2 times yesterday...but no one was showing as on AIM....
I checked too, no one on not ven my KAT who always talks to me while she's in DISNEY!
I have not been good for a week also...we all need to ban together...glad love is in the air also...
Me Neither .. had that party and all. HOT FUDGE SUNDAE with death by chocolate ben and Jerry Ice cream and B&J cake batter ice cream
Kick some butt Steph...it still confuses me when you say you talked to Steph....I keep wondering about multiple personality dissorder...bu by naming a alter ego your same name...would that be with a twist of narcisism...???:lmao:
Some days I feel like I have one a multi personality disorder... Oh wait that is just when my thyroid is F*&ked up!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Yeah it is hard to get the Steph and Steph thing! We confused the he// out of stephens family for a good year because they called him steph and me steph ... ( I knew the whole family well not his brother for months before I knew him!)
OK I need to get these kids ready and run errands and go snag zac's school stuff at my mothers while she is gone! Pay bills OH and finish painting the garage! I will probably be dead to the world tonight I will try to AIM after 9.
And I am sure that I will be on and off all day!

Wow! Lots of people didn't have good weekends around here! Parents - family! - can be a pain-in-the-you-know-where, that's for sure. And I've learned that I am a lot more successful at advising other people on how to deal than dealing myself.

Think happy thoughts! Disney World! :goodvibes Exercise! :rotfl: I'm not going down the parent-bashing road - there's one thing I've learned, and it's that there's nothing good for me there. Disney World!

We're 2 days out from our trip - I still - and won't - fit into the skirt I'd bought. It's red - where else will I wear it? But I'm back on the newly-repaired bike, and did 10 miles Sunday (2 rides) and 7 yesterday (again, 2 trips). Scale is not my friend right now.

Things aren't as bad as all that, though. I tried on an exercise skirt at Target last week and it was TOO BIG! It was on the verge of falling off. So I bought 2 in the next smaller size that were 75% off! :woohoo:

Maybe I should start packing? I was supposed to pack last night, but all I did was count how many ponchos I have...at 11:30 at night... :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl: 3 would be the answer, so more are required to deal with Hurrican Hanna Bananna. Off to Walmart at lunch! Land of the 'No Hablo Englais.' Seriously. The morning greeters do not speak english. Don't bother asking where anything is.

Disney in 2 day!!!  I would deal with the hannah banana to go to disney. You haven't packed.. Oh yeah you are pretty close! I was packed and re packed and packed again for a week!:rolleyes1
Great Job on the BIKE! I am hoping to start walking again when the kids hit school THURSDAY.. they are the only school going on Thursday everyone else starts tomorrow! WEIRD I tell Ya!

/
OMG DEB! You haven't packed? See, this is the sign of a normal person. I'm so impressed. I pack weeks in advance, in ziploc bags, and label them. No kidding. I didn't do that for the cruise and I was so impressed with myself. (I did the bags just not the labels. Progress!) I do this for all trips, but it was Disney that got me into it. But Vegas, Vancouver, etc, all labeled, with underwear and socks included. Call me crazy!

I'm excited for you!!! We were going to be there NOW but we had the cruise instead. It was sad to cancel though. Emily asked me on vacation when we were going back to Disney. Ah, kid, wish I knew.

Steph - In my personal experience, parents don't listen to you when you say, Hey your actions hurt me. So I don't bother anymore. I think your mom is unhappy and that's why she does that, but it's not acceptable. So I would say, simply, "Mom, your comments to my children are unacceptable. Please keep your opinions to yourself, and if you must say something, take it up with the adults, and leave my kids out of it." If you bring up the hurtful nature of this, I think she will focus on that and it will go nowhere, but a dispassionate "This is not acceptable" goes farther because it's so unexpected and clear.

EriKA - Aww. That's very sweet. And here I am, on pins and needles waiting to ship her off!

So it seems I am up 7lbs. Whatev. It was a very very good week and half!

This thread moves fast! :scared1: Doing my best to get all caught up. Can I just tell you how much I  coming back to work after a long relaxing weekend!

Thanks for all the welcomes! Yes, I was a lurker!

I went back and reread my post from the other day..You all probably think I am some sort of major boozer!! Really, I'm not! I just enjoy my microbrews ( I am a total beer snob) and enjoy mixing my mojitos and sangria. The last time I dieted I gave up way too much of this stuff. I was not a happy camper. :sad2: I told myself this time I needed to find a way to still enjoy all of these things and accomplish my goals. When I do drink, I try to drink a bottle of water for every couple drinks I have.

Someone asked about my portions (still working on learning names here :) ). I don't follow any particular program. I just started cutting portions. Like if before I would maybe have 2 tacos at dinner, now I'll only have one. Or only eating half the cereal in the morning that I would have before. It did take awhile to adjust, but it is all good now. I have also eliminated most sweets. I've also gotten into the habit of eating slower too. I read something about it taking time for your brain to catch up and let you know how full you are. And I have been exercising about 4-5 times a week since february. The loss has been slower (maybe 5 pounds a month), but steady.

I will post my mojito recipe later, I have it at home.

:hug: to everyone having the family drama. I have my own and totally understand. :goodvibes

Well, I am off to appear busy at work.

Catch up with everyone later!

Amy

Okay, I don't know what AIM is? EEEK. :rolleyes1

AIM = AOL Instant Messaging. We all head over there for instant chatting. It's a way to "talk", uncensored, and privately. Whereas on the DIS it's slow, censored and open for public consumption.

When we all actually get to meet up and have a big chat, it is HI LAR IOUS and crazy. The last time we ranted about politics and The Duggers http://www.duggarfamily.com/navbar/images/header.gif That's all I'm gonna say, cause what happens at AIM stays at AIM.

Since summer, our AIM time has seriously taken a hit. And I miss alot of fun, cause I have to go to bed at a decent hour if I am gonna exercise in the morning. AIM usually takes place late and goes on for hours. It is serious fun.

If you download AIM to your computer and get a log in name (hint, they are all taken, think WAY outside the box) pm us with it. I don't personally post my AIM name here, cause if your not me, you are on a need to know basis.:rotfl:

It is Ty starting school Zac is heading into second and Sam is heading BACK to eighth.

Sorry I screwed that up. Must have Zac on the brain.

I am still checking in even though I don't have much time to post. I don't have time to post anywhere and I feel pretty bad about joining, dropping out, popping in and disappearing again. I hope you all know that I am still out there lurking along with you and supporting silently. Keep up all your great work!!!

We are a low maintenance crowd. No worries. If you don't make an appearance every now and then, we'll come looking for you.

We are now semi- empty -nesters!!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

:rotfl:

I have not been good for a week also...we all need to ban together...

I'm ON IT today.

....I keep wondering about multiple personality dissorder...bu by naming a alter ego your same name...would that be with a twist of narcisism...???:lmao:

Ohhh, deep and funny.

Things aren't as bad as all that, though. I tried on an exercise skirt at Target last week and it was TOO BIG! It was on the verge of falling off. So I bought 2 in the next smaller size that were 75% off! :woohoo:

1. Smaller size and 2. clearanced. What color was it? Was it your favorite color? We might just have a trifecta people.

Listen to this...remember Molli's bike was screwed up last week. And my sister and I fought it and fought it.

Well, hubby was in the office yesterday and I said, "Hey take a look at this. There is something wrong."

And before I could say anything else, he says, "Well the handlebars are all the way turned around, that's your first problem."

DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT I AM TELLING YOU? My one and only problem is I am an idiot. The freaking handle bars were completely, 360 degrees, turned around. The cables were all bound up. That is why the bike wouldn't roll. And we took it out like that and didn't even realize it!

Of course, I found it hysterical. He was shocked at my lack of common sense (ok, alpha dog).

All for now. Reading all day for me.

all labeled, with underwear and socks included.

Um...you have to label your socks and underwear?:rotfl: Socks come in pairs and go on your feet. The underwear, well, they go...:rotfl: . (Ok, I couldn't help myself.)

Very good advice.

EriKA - Aww. That's very sweet. And here I am, on pins and needles waiting to ship her off!

So it seems I am up 7lbs. Whatev. It was a very very good week and half!

So worth 7lbs. And you obviously know what you are doing.

This thread moves fast! :scared1: Doing my best to get all caught up.

You'll get the hang of it. I feel it moves slow. Utahmamma's thread, now that one moves fast and there are like 3,000 members. I tried it a year ago and had to drop out. Way to fast.

Can I just tell you how much I  coming back to work after a long relaxing weekend!

Are you being sarcastic or do you really like work?

Thanks for all the welcomes! Yes, I was a lurker!

I went back and reread my post from the other day..You all probably think I am some sort of major boozer!!

That was my first thought. Total Boozer.:rotfl: (seriously, jk)

What, Lyz, you don't match and plan out which socks and underwear to wear with which outfits? :lmao: Cause no joke, I TOTALLY do that. Loony-toons, I know.

Amy, we like boozers. Exhibit A, here. EriKA, Exhibit B. Kat, on vacay, Exhibit C. Now if you like Vera Bradley, we're really talking! :rotfl:

Liz, you are too much! No, I totally don't match my socks and underwear to my outfits. My socks are all white. And my undies are just basic. Nothing special.

I've heard southern women, I guess the proper term would be "Belles", match, daily, their bra's and panties. I don't know about you guys, but, I don't buy sets and I have WAY more undies than I do bras.

All for now. Reading all day for me.

I am LMAO at that one...it is too funny...I would totally do this...

2 quick stories about that sort of thing:

#1 Baylor was running late for pre-school one winter day...I was doing daycare for 4 other babies /toddlers so I was completely stressed with carseats /snowsuits...blah blah...
I had to drive him...and I was ushering him out the door in a hurry...could not get the coat to zip for the life of me...had a frusterated melt down saying "***...why will this coat not zip!" Baylor is whining...saying it is not comfortable...I say tough...finally say screw the zipper...and struggle to button it...and as I watch him waddle to the car in his boots...I notice his hood...
flapping at his bottom...:scared1:

The mystery was solved...it did not work because I had it on upside down...I laughed and laughed...pointed it out to him...he was laughing...and then said..."I thought you were smart enough to know which way a jacket goes so I did not check." :lmao:

That made it even funnier...cause he was laughing at how stupid his mother is...

#2 When Carsyn was in 3rd grade...she got a Mary Kate/Ashley training bra and panties set...totally was just a cloth bra...no support...but she had friends in gymnastics in 5th grade who needed them...so started getting self concious changing into leo's at the gym...

So I buy her a set...she goes into the bathroom to try it on upstairs...nd walks out with it on...complaining it doesn't fit right and she will not wear it...:headache:

I look at the bra...and it is like a halter with a huge strap around her neck...and then the arm straps...nothing around her back...

I start saying it must be defective...that I hope she did not take off the tags cause Walmart won't take it back...yada yada...

Treyner walks upstairs...(Carsyn was young enough not to be embarrased stading in a 2 piece in front of her brother...) and tells me to calm down....proceeds to walk to Carsyn...had her turn around...hold the bra part against her chest...unsnaps the neck piece...and then re-attaches it around the back...where it should have been... :rolleyes1

He says...you two are not very observant....and walks away...

I never pictured her first bra moment being explained how to put it on by her brother...and to top it off...wanted to know how he knew how to put it on when he was in 5th grade! He said.."I see commercials ya know"...and that my friends...was a parenting moment I will never forget...a bra-wearing woman for over 15 years by then...schooled by a pre-teen boy observant of Playtex bra's! :lmao:

What, Lyz, you don't match and plan out which socks and underwear to wear with which outfits? :lmao: Cause no joke, I TOTALLY do that. Loony-toons, I know.
I maybe have 8 pair of underwear to my name...that fit well...so if I packed them for a vacay early...I would be neked...:lmao:

Dan - he had at one point over 50 pair...no joke..he pannicks if he does not have enough...but after he ditched his old whitey tighty brigade...he is now at a comfertable 25-30 so we are hoping therapy will be over soon as he gets accustomed to only 2 drawers full...:lmao:

Amy, we like boozers. Exhibit A, here. EriKA, Exhibit B. Kat, on vacay, Exhibit C. Now if you like Vera Bradley, we're really talking! :rotfl:
Hey...just cause we support liquor (as opposed to licker Steph ;) ) for those that like it...it doesn't mean they are alcoholics...they are simply lushes....
Liz, you are too much! No, I totally don't match my socks and underwear to my outfits. My socks are all white. And my undies are just basic. Nothing special.
I want matching sets..cannot wait till they look cute...not like something Mimi from Drew Carry would wear..
I've heard southern women, I guess the proper term would be "Belles", match, daily, their bra's and panties. I don't know about you guys, but, I don't buy sets and I have WAY more undies than I do bras.

We need to start living like Liz...cause I am sick of living like...well me!

EriKa, she called you "exhibit B" :rotfl: .

Dawn - Hi Lar Ious stories!!!! Hahahahaha!!!!

Yes, I am a lush. Hey, I'm good at it!

Lyz and Dawn - no all my sets don't match up. But I do have a hierarchy of undies - the good ones, the okay ones, the ones I don't like and only wear for TOM or as spares. Doesn't anyone else have this? Come on! I can't be the only one! So I pick out the good ones, match 'em up with bras for vacay, and pack that way. I like the matchy matchy. Not that anyone sees them but me.

Wow, it's really "let my freak flag fly" day, isn't it?

:rotfl: Listen to how this sounds, "and the ones I only wear for Tom."

I am really amused today.

No, I recently purged my underwear and purchased all newbies. Thanks to the nifty stimilus rebate from the government. Thanks W.

Oh, nice. New undies! I want to wait till goal and buy matching sets. That's my dream. Matching sets. Sad, no?

Dawn: :lmao: :rotfl2:

I have never done anything like that before....:sad2: Okay, I once put my daughters free standing basketball hoop up backward and stood there looking at it and wondering WTH was wrong with the picture. In my defense, I was about 8 months pregnant and it had to be about 100 degrees that day but she HAD to have it. My DH came up the driveway like this...:sad2:

And, yes, guilty of the matchy matchy bra and undies. Victorias Secret is my friend (or is that DH's friend????) I will, however state that I have 3 pairs of matchy undies per bra just in case and in different styles for different occasions. TMI??? Yep, TMI....:rolleyes1

I think I should hit the lurker button again.......popcorn::
