Erica I still get nervous before 10 miles. 8-9 don't bother me so much I just set my frame of mind that time does not matter, the miles do. I also, on particulary bad days, will R5/W1 and it makes me feel like the distance is more doable. After the 4 mile marker, something kicks in inside me and makes me feel like I could just keep going.
I have been toying with the Maine Womens Half. I run 9 on a general basis on the weekend so 4 more is no big deal. If you truly need some support, I would be willing to come down and run with you...not too fast though...I am only human!!!
