In search of my body...not the one I ate! Part Deux... We sit at the popular table!

I seem to have caught some sort of bug. I thought it was just being hungover but I didn't start feeling bad until during my workout (~6PM) and I felt really, really crummy all evening. Severe chills, clammy, then warm and sweating, etc. And nothing I have eaten is left. I went to bed at 10PM and woke up about 3-4 times to be sick again (not throwing up, thank God), and the last time at 6AM feeling super nauseous. I ate a few crackers and had some soda and I do feel better now, just on the weird side.

I was supposed to drive to Wilson today but called my boss and begged off until noon-ish. Back to bed for me....

Sorry to hear it, Kat! Hope you kick it quickly!

EriKa - the pics are awesome. That is neat that you do this every year. How do you get to the island? Has weather ever called the trip off? Has anyone ever gotten seriously hurt? (Cause I'm seeing alot of water and craggly rocks = stress for me.)

Your children are gawgous. The weather looked spectacular. Was the ocean water cold, or did it get hot enough in the day it felt good?

What all did you eat?

We call this "extreme" camping, though now that we all have kids it is not as extreme as it once was. We do 3 different trips per year...but it looks like we only have one other this year plus a "regular" camping trip. We have other friends who want to go with us, but we don't allow non-certified folks on extreme trips.

No, we don't cancel for weather. That just means we get to use all of our foul weather gear. It's like a game to see how we can keep stuff dry, etc.

As for danger...no this was not dangerous. This is Maine, so the rocky coast is part of life. And all of these kids have been doing this since birth and I would trust most of them more than any adult. We have had a couple of incidents over the years. But part of being on this team is that we are all certified First Responders. And as I mentioned in a previous post, everyone has a specialty. We have two people who are wilderness paramedics. These two can practically do open heart surgery in the field. No kidding.

Water would be considered cold for most people, but pretty warm by Maine standards. None of the adults went in, but all of the kids did...a lot!

Food. Well, things that you might not find appetizing (the whole vegetarian thing and all). Let's see...one night I made Pad Thai with tofu. This was YUM. Better than any Pad Thai I have ordered from a restaurant. Another night I made this really awesome marinated shrimp dish (I named it "drunken sailors" since the shrimp were marinated in a tequila and red pepper marinade) which I served with garlicky potatoes and strawberry salad with home made sesame dressing. The meat eaters had some sort of pork tenderloin, I think.

Breakfast one morning was (you will love this) blueberry-raspberry-strawberry crepes. SO good! And the other morning was just blueberry pancakes with veggie bacon, bagels, etc. Normal breakfast fare. Lunches are non-events...burgers, hot dogs, mac and cheese....regular food.

Kat - I can TOTALLY relate!! I've been sick since last Wednesday. The good news? I've lost 4 pounds. The bad news? THIS REALLY, REALLY, REALLY SUCKS! I definitely don't recommend it as a weight loss method!! :headache:

[/COLOR]

Sorry you have been sick, Nancy! Hey, at least it is the losing weight type of sick....I never get those!

I am off to WW tonight! It isn't going to be good! maybe 1 pound in two weeks? DUE TO TOM! YUCK!

How did it go? What are the results? And TOM finally hit here! Yeesh!

As for me--I had a great day back. I did an 8 mile run (which I was sure would never happen, so I feel great that I stuck it out), I did a core work-out, and then tonight I went to a boxing class. In between all of that I schlepped kids to swimming lessons and the beach.

Kat and Liz--I tracked all day and will send it your way! But man, am I HUNGRY!

Erika - Instead of meeting in NYC, can you come here are cook for me? Please? I'll go to the gym with you for two hours! :lmao:

Yes, send us your food!

So, the good - went to the gym for two hours! No, really. I swear. Step class and weight lifting class (called "Power"). The questionable - Went to the movies with Nick and ate popcorn for dinner. The bad - I have this attitude of "I exercised like heck all week, I better have lost some weight!". Never a good attitude to have. I guess I'll find out on Wed!

I MADE MY 10% GOAL:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
I HAVE LOST 25.8 POUND!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry LYZ had to scream it from the ROOF TOPS!!!
OH WAIT there is more I tried on my nieces size 16 and they friggin fit!!!!

WOO HOO for two hours at the gym! Awesome! As for your thought process...welcome to my world! I am the same way..."I just ran 8 freaking miles...pass the pizza...I should still lose weight!" Doesn't work. Learn from me so that you can keep losing!

WAY TO GO STEPH! Goddess crown for you!

E- I know it's not the healthiest choice, but I just can't live a life without popcorn at the movies once in a while. It's like a world with sunshine or love or cute shoes or good champagne...no life at all! ;)

YAYAYAY!!!! :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Go Steph!!

I had to skip hockey tonight... not only did I not really feel up to it, D took the keys to the car by mistake. Probably a good thing as I am not really 100% yet.

But hey, I can't really keep food where it belongs, so maybe that will mean more weight loss this week...

Thanks guys... nothing like an upset stomach and the image of fat French Canadians lounging around wearing practically nothing!! :scared:

I am feeling much better and am contemplating whether or not to go to hockey tonight. I should probably skip it.

And in other good news, I had one email bite on one of the resumes I submitted, and another impromptu phone/tech screen at 5PM today. The first, I don't think we are on the same page when it comes to salary, but the 2nd resulted in them wanting to bring me in for an interview next week.

Not a bad ROI for submitting about 6 resumes!

Nancy, hope you feel better!

Yay for resume responses!!!!

Morning everyone!

Things we need updates on...

Nancy--DS' back issue. And your health. How are you feeling today?

Lyz--hogs. Are they growing now? Isn't the 4H fair, like, soon?

Dawn--WW meeting. It was 5 days ago and we have yet to hear...:listen:

Darla--check in, please. We would love to have you here.

Michelle
--same. Let us know what is up with you.

Stacey
--are you all moved in to your new place? Is life returning to a more sane pace these days? Are you used to your new last name? (assuming you took his...Liz and I did not. Rebels, we are! :lmao: )

Off to the gym (shocker, I know!) :goodvibes

Good morning everyone!

I hope everyone is having a good start to their day! I leave for Disneyland the day after tomorrow!!!! :cheer2: Other than that there is not a lot going on... Just work and sleep... LOL! Have a great day!

Sarah

Good morning!

Updates...

I think movie theater popcorn and I have broken up. He tasted delicious but in the end, did not treat me well last night. I am afraid I might become one of those people who sneak in their healthy snacks. Save me!

It's the first day of July, and as promised to Erika a long time ago, I started my walking to run program. Not C25k - that felt too structured to me. So there I was today. I went out for 30 mins, and jogged for 30 seconds five times, walking in between. I didn't die. I do wonder how I will ever get to running for 3 whole miles.

Do you ever feel like you wish you didn't have to do this? Exercise, watch your food, etc? I do. I wish I was just a runner from childhood, and never gained weight or had to diet or change anything or any of it, really. I mean, I enjoy the gym, but man, I wish I didn't have to learn this stuff. The learning curve sucks sometimes.

Say it isn't so!! Popcorn is such a good friend... LOL! I couldn't ever give up popcorn... Thats one of things I am looking forward to most at DL... I know what you mean though about wishing things weren't the way they are... I'd love to have a quicker metabolism and not have to worry about my food all the time... I'd love for it all to just come easy.

Amen, sister.

Popcorn and I are still together. It's just his movie theater cousin I was having a torrid affair with for years that has finally done his damage for the last time. I can't promise in a weak moment I'll won't go back to him, but he did a number on me I'll not soon forget.
