In search of my body...not the one I ate! Part Deux... We sit at the popular table!

EriKa -
I say do it. Once they are older with sports/girlfriends/boyfriends....much harder to do and I feel they would have more regret. Now - they would be okay.

I rememeber wanting to move when Treyner was in 4th grade....somewhere south...now I regeret not doing it because I am stuck here with a 12th, 19th and 7th grader, 7th not so bad to move - but HS much harder..esp sport wise...

Pla your time doing things they could not do in Maine...educationally etc...

I know tons of people in Orlando with Tupperware being there plus my cousin and her husband live there...he is a CEO with for Pfizer..they are pretty well off and live in a great area...I could ask them some questions for you about home schooling etc...

God has blessed you with the family to support you down there....it, may lead to something else...the path seem open for you...I say do it...:worship:

Lyz... give me a day or two and I will price you out one. Does screen size matter? Would you prefer a 17" widescreen or is 15.4" enough?

I will look at Dell and Gateway (we have a Gateway and like it), and get back to you, ok?

Erika, I say go for it... sounds wonderful. I hope J is on board.

Dawn, Paula, Liz, Steph, :wave2: .

Work is getting gradually better. Home is MUCH MUCH better. For the first time in close to a year, I have hope.

Eating and exercise and such is going great too... haven't gone over 1200 in a week, keeping the exercise up, weighed 169 this morning. 3 lbs from pre-WDW weight. :)

I don't know. I swing back and forth. Biggger better at home, but smaller would be better for travel. Any recommendations?

I like Gateway too. Thanks so much. All the technical stuff might as well be in Chinese. I just want it to work.

That is GREAT, I mean GREAT news. I "hope" for you too!

Kat--awesome news about both the weight and home. Maybe we can chat tonight. I can actually hang out tonight! Amazing!

Ok, I have more news....and it is big....

So I went to Kohl's today because they are having a huge buy 1/get 1 sale on all capris and shorts and I am in desperate need. So I bought a cute pair of Levi's knee-length shorts....

Size 4!!!!

That is my GOAL size! Ok, truth be told, these are definitely vanity-sized b/c I know I am a solid 6. And they are really comfortable (I don't have to lie down to zip 'em up or anything)...but they do give me some (mini) muffin tops. So I can't wear a shirt tucked in. But they are a 4 and they fit and are comfortable, so I am happy! ::yes::

Erika-
Happy inches lost!!

Happy Sabatical!! It will be so great to see how it all works out.

Happy Size 4!!

Heather :flower3:

Stacey, Good luck!!! Have an amazing wedding!!!

Stephanie, your hair is adorable. So cute! I like what you have picked out for your house, too!

Erika, Go for it, anytime you can - if not Spring 09, then Fall 09. I think it's a wonderful opportunity and am so excited for you and proud of you! And you can bet I will come visit!

Liz - thanks for the health food tips. I will look for the noodles for sure. I live in small town USA, but we do have health food sections, and a Whole Foods about 1 hour away.

(I love Whole Foods. When we go on "girls day out" with MIL's family- our day is always capped with a trip there. Isn't that funny. We go to the grocery on "G.D.O.") It's food heaven. So many ideas.

(And a side note. We own a Bobcat. So it's funny to hear your weekend revolved around access to one.) (Jodi and Nancy probably have one too.)

Kat, sounds like work is "same ol' same ol'". Course, I'm very intersted in your home life. Fill us in if you get a chance.

OK - EriKa, Kat and Liz, my technology babes. I need a few pointers. I am in the market for a new laptop. I have the June flyer from Dell.

(I like Dell. Personally haven't had any problems. I know everyone has different opions. For instance. I HATE Hewlett Packard. I will never, in the rest of my whole entire life, buy another piece of equipment from Hewlett Packard. So, if you feel this way about Dell, I've not had that experience.)

That being said. I don't know what I need in terms of ram or gig or whatever that stuff means. If one of you could point out the "min" I need to do the following:

-Play on the internet. i.e. DIS and webkinz:hyper:
-AIM
-do some (hopefully not much) work from home. (I'll get MS office)
-and if necessary, have room to load up my Quickbooks programs if my business computer goes down.

and what is the difference between a "laptop" and a "notebook"?

price of course is a factor. I don't want to spend too much. $1000 is my limit, but I'd like to spend MUCH less.

Any free advice you can offer moi'?

I love Whole Foods! It's just fun to walk around, and I can totally see that topping off a girls' day!

I KNEW you had a Bobcat, just knew it. You have to remember, we are basically a suburb of NYC. There is something like 75-80% working or have worked in NYC (or right outside, as companies move out of the high Midtown rents) in my town. About half of my friends don't even do the most basic landscaping themselves, let alone order dirt fill and change the geography of their backyard. I can count on one hand the amount of guys who would do that. We are the freaks, right? I don't even tell people that we are doing things ourself, without a contractor, because I get so many looks and head shaking. We hire out for NOTHING despite Nick's job - he caught a train home to shovel gravel; that is so not done. I mean, God Bless his handy little butt, because we sure wouldn't have done our kitchen or renovated our lower level if he couldn't have done it himself. I am sometimes jealous of those people who have painters, or a contractor to do their bathroom, or a landscaper. It seems so nice to pay people and get it done instead of the man who works fulltime doing it on the nights and weekends. But, he is handy and we are not flush, so Bobcat weekend is big fun! I'm sure he'd own one if we had a place to put it! We have a tractor he never uses but that we needed, right? The only thing, the very only thing, I pay someone to do, is mow our lawn once a week. They charge next to nothing and it lets Nick get at least a few hours of relaxation - if he's not in the midst of some other major renovation! :rotfl:

Hi Kat!!!

Oh, and Erika - congrats on the size! Vanity or not! Whoo-hoo!!!!:cool1:

Hi All - sorry I've been MIA....just been a busy time of year for me....always more to do than the hours in the day allow for! :confused3

KAT - I now understand why people like hockey. I turned on the TV the other night and that play-off game was on (I'm sure you know what I'm talking about, even though I don't! ) It was overtime, and those guys were amazing - nutso crazy men, but amazing! :worship: Don't even know who won, I went to bed before it ended - but it was such a nail-biter, even for a non-hockey fan! ::yes::

ERIKA- I'm sure if it were me, and a decision for me to make about my family and my future, I'd be full of doubts, questions, angst....:faint: ...but, if you've already decided that home-schooling is part of your plan (a very good choice, IMHO, for a variety of reasons)...I'd definitely suggest you talk to your school board and see if you can get the cirriculum that they use. That way, your kids will be on pace with their peers when they return.

if everything else falls into place, I think you should go for it. If you don't, you really need to ask yourself if you'll spend the rest of your life wishing that you had done it. It's only 6 months. Your kids are still young (not like my teenagers, which is a much more difficult age for an adventure like that!)..what a great opportunity it could be for all of you. And - if you DON'T like it (yeah, as if!)...you'll be done in 6 short months!

Oh and Erika - SIZE 4??? Woman, you have become one of those skinny *itches that I wish I could hate (but can't, because they are just too nice)! Seriously though - I'd be wearing those shorts with the tag stickin' out like Minnie Pearl and her hat! ::yes::

Now...about ME....I've been riding my bike like, well, like the way Erika runs! Like Forrest Gump on wheels! :rotfl2: Did a nice, easy 22 mile ride today..holy cow, I'm addicted. AND I finally bought cycling shoes. Tomorrow it's going to rain, so Thursday I'll try them out. I've been promised by absolutely everyone that I've spoken to that I WILL indeed fall off my bike trying to get out of those clips. :scared1: I'm going to make DH stand in the drive way and catch me as I practice..

/
(And a side note. We own a Bobcat. So it's funny to hear your weekend revolved around access to one.) (Jodi and Nancy probably have one too.)

Well, we don't own a bobcat ourselves, but BIL does, and he lives right around the corner from us (a dairy farmer. DRINK MILK everyone!
:drinking1 )....we do have a John Deere tractor with a bucket though - I got to use the hay tedder last week to "fluff" the hay as it was drying - and then I did run the baler for a while too...it's kinda funny because I am SO mechanically challenged, that when DH is explaining all the finer points of the PTO I just laugh. :confused3 Just tell me what gear to drive in and I'll go...:drive: I'm just out there to get a tan....

Erika~ :woohoo: on size fours I don't think I have ever seen a size four except on my daughter!

Kat~ glad things are still on the right track at home!

Nancy ~ as you talked about putting hay away it flooded my mind of memories of coming to Vermont and helping on my mom's friends farm! I always Helped out unloading the wagons! I used to start school with huge scratches on my arms from the bales.

Liz~ thanks about the hair. I am getting used to the color.

So I had to change the counters because the sample that they gave me wasn't from the same company that we got the house from  I tried like hell to get her to put it in but she said she couldn't.
If you look in the corner lower right there is a brown formica and that will be the counter top for now!
CIMG1614.jpg

Then I added some other stuff in to! DH hadn't a clue about it and when she mentioned them he was like WHAT? WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? I was like well you told me not to bother you again at work so I just took it upon myslef to do what I wanted !!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: That will teach him to tell me not to call anymore!;)

So we signed our sales agreement today and put down our down payment. We also had a friend doing the heating system and he was charging us close to $16,000 for the whole thing and our sales person said she thought that was really high. So she called her guy and it came in for under $12,000 so guess who we are going with! So we should have everything back within the next two weeks and then closing and then the house gets built in PA and then taken apart and brought up on a flat bed trailer! I will have pictures as the days come closer and it all is going on!!!!!!

Just jumping in here to say that the June Monthly Weight Loss challenge thread is posted if anyone is interested in joining!.........................P

Happy Windsday! Oh I just can't wait to be bouncin on that pooh ride. Less than a month to go!!!
We kept losing power yesterday. I was on the treadmill and kept starting over. Ache a little today.

Stephanie- your size 4 comment has me giggling and ahhing, because it was said so sweet.

Hi guys, I am back, will go into details later, here is the short version,
funeral for a friends father ran their store Fri, Sat, Sun (plus wake), Mon.(Plus funeral) church right next door took turns with another girl helping. Trying to figure out what to eat since the Dr. took away all Dairy and Wheat for a month. On new med's hate them, cleaned up yard after getting 2 1/2 inches of hail. Looked like winter here, took 2 days to all melt leaves everywhere, plants shredded. Getting ready for school to end this week and Hanna grad pictures next week, and don't forget soccer.
Have been walking, have trainer appt. in morning. Doing business paperwork and keeping up on house work. PHEW did I forget anything.

OH ya who doesn't have a bobcat, tractor and a front end loader, plus many many semi's....:) I do miss ya all, I have lots of reading to catch up on so I can see who's been up to what. Hope all will well in your neck of the woods....

Talk soon. :grouphug: hugs to all..

Wow--expected to come on here and catch up....WHERE IS EVERYONE???

I am here... actually sitting at my desk for a change! I think I may have won another fun-filled trip to Wilson tomorrow, though.

Went to the gym at lunch... I am so tired today. I think maybe I need to start eating more. I have been underestimating my calories a lot and by the time I enter them (after 11PM), it is somewhat too late to eat.

You know, I find one thing very amusing/interesting. It is amazing how many more people take interest in you when you are thinner.

Jodi, sounds like life is crazy!

Glad you have a desk day, Kat! And just who is taking more of an interest in you???

Jodi--sounds crazy, but hang in there! I know that going without dairy is going to be super hard, but you will see huge results with your weight, so that is good.

I am busy, but FUN busy. Doing lots of decorating stuff this week. Ok, off to pick up a new carpet for the playroom. Then I am taking all 3 kids to the mall...something I NEVER do, but the Disney store is going out of business and is having massive sales, so I want to get matching t-shirts, etc. for upcoming trips.

I will be online all night for anyone who want to chat! Miss you guys!

I'm here!

WARNING - Juicy Rant - might want to skip the next two paragraphs -

Spent the morning helping a friend whose house is out of control (and I mean filthy and toys and junk all over the place). I am helping her sort and process the stuff, pack it up, throw it out, and just get it to a point where you can see the floor. Her husband got a new job and is working from home, so he needs an office, and she is moving the stuff that has accumulated in her toy/junk room out - but honestly the whole house is like that. Nothing has a place, or a good place that works. Except for the kitchen.

Ironically, yesterday she was over my house and gave her 4 yr old soda (I am so against that, but it's not my child) and the kid left it buried in my couch, in a half sealed sippy cup. You might remember, my couches are white. And yes, I have a child, but we do not eat and drink in the living room, or anywhere but the kitchen/dining room...especially when you can see the living room from the kitchen. In my house, it's shoes off, drinks and snacks at a table. (Of course, adults do as they please, and that's fine, but these are the rules for children.) Obviously, at their house it's whatever, wherever. I got up to move some books off the couch, and saw this sippy cup half buried, and a stain spreading. It had just leaked Coke out. Thankfully, I have stain remover and could wash the slip cover. My girlfriend was not as responsive, even muttering about white couches and children, but let me tell you something - I have a white rug, too, and my kid has never ever spilled anything on it, because she keeps her drinks all of 10 feet away in the kitchen!

So today I went to her house, saw the state it was in, and thought, ah, it all makes sense now. Her couches and carpets are destroyed, and the kids color on the walls.

Okay, mean rant over. On the weight loss front, I lost 2.4 this week, for a total of 62.2! AND...I only have 25lbs to go! Who could have imagined I'd ever get this far???

Arrrgh. I'm feeling very discontent. Due to the storms of last night, we are flooded in AGAIN!!! My children are fighting and my husband is NOT cooperating in life. I have spent the better part of the day in bed and now I've got the "lazy-stiff" thing going on.

Kat-welcome to your desk. Yeah, who's interested?

EriKa-Disney-discounts, ummmm, count me in. AND SIZE 4!!!!!! Livin' the dream, livin' the dream.

Jodi-whew, you have been busy.

Nancy-loved the comment about wearing the tag like Minnie Pearl. Well, how'd the shoe clip go?

Liz-I can't believe that mom. I'd have stopped the little brat myself. And more weight loss. You are on a roll. Loving "the world according to..." Clothes falling off. I'm jelous. Not like Ms. Green. The, I love you, wish I had your drive, kind.

Heather-hunny pots. Ohhh, jelous about that too.

Stephanie-sorry about the countertop snafu. I see you wrote, "for now".

Stacy-aren't you like, about to be married? Good Luck and Have FUN!

Paula-rockin with the smart kids. Hope you're having fun.

Dawn-Tupperware anyone?

Lyz - Loving that you're reading it. As for drive, I do think a Richelle picture would do to you what it did to me, kwim?

Kick the family outside to the floods and reclaim your house! No? Well, it's a nice fantasy.

Kat - YES tell us more!!!

Jodi - I am so impressed with your commitment to your new diet!

I could have imagined it, for sure. I am soooo proud of you!!

What a wreck. That sounds like the antithesis of my household.

As to the interest, it was nothing major... my company is a large one (25K+ employees), and employs a bunch of people in this general area (we span about 4 buildings, probably at least 300-400 or so). A lot of us should really be working about 45 min east of here, where our operations center is. However, the tech market is better in Raleigh-Durham, so they allow us to work here in almost a mini-ops center. It is still a 25 min drive for me but much better than the hour and change it would be to get to the "real" ops center.

That all being said, you get to know people by sight, and quite a few people have joined my gym (since it is $10/month and 5 min away) and hit it at lunch. I have had a few approach me recently, that I know by sight but not actual conversation, and basically say hey, aren't you so-and-so and strike up a conversation. Maybe it is coincidence, but I sure didn't get that kind of thing when I *started* this gym thing 1.5 yrs ago...
