In Search of my Body...Not The One I Ate.. #4 "Inspiring Others... 1 Tiara at a Time"

I went for a run today and all I can say is OMG! I checked the temp before heading out and it said 18*. Definitely cold, but I have run in colder and have been ok, so I wasn't too worried. Plus, this was only a 4-miler so I knew I would be out there for too long.

Ummm....'xcuse me, Miss "My IT Band Hurts" :mic: Why were you out running today :confused3

And while you were *under* your calories for today. I'm over. I haven't completed the tallying but.... I *was* right on track....a tad on the low side actually. But then - we went to that dinner & dessert auction that I had to make the dessert for....and...well....for dinner I ate exactly what I had planned for. What I DIDN'T leave "room" for was the cheesecake that I would bid on, win then eat for dessert. yum. :goodvibes On the bright side....we shared it with everyone at our table so it went fast.

Oh and Kat...if you are out there...my kids are headed YOUR way this summer! a little town in North Carolina is their destination....

How do you come up with goals? I would like to try and figure out one for Feb!

Also wanted to say Hi to everyone I haven't said Hi to!!!!! ipromise I am trying to learn names:blush:

Heather, there is no method for setting a goal other than to try and be realistic.

For example, if you haven't been focusing on weight and fitness at all, then it would be unrealistic for you to set a goal of 10 pounds, plus working out 5 times a week, plus giving up soda (or alcohol or whatever), plus...and you get the idea.

Think of what you can realistically do and SUCCEED at. Don't set yourself up for failure by setting unrealistic goals.

You will notice that some of us have "n/a" for certain categories. That is because those folks knew that they could only focus on one or two things at a time and not several. Those of us who have a goal set in every category just means that some of those things are already in place and now "habit." You can use me as an example. I had to make the goal of tracking...because I suck at it and I hate it and I never do it. But I have been making my fitness goals for about a year now...so that is solid. So it wasn't a big deal for me to add tracking along with a fitness goal. It was like I was only adding one "new" thing. Hope that makes sense.

So your long term goals are to (1) lose 20 pounds and (2) get in triathlon shape, right?

Start small. Make your February goals something like...5 pound loss, drink your water each day, and work out 3x/week for 30 minutes each time. Or whatever you think will work for you (not sure if you have been doing any exercise or not).

Hope this helps!

WOW I check in twice in one night and there are only three post?? WTH?? I don't check in and there are 30+ post.:confused3

Well I guess since it's saturday night everyone has SOMETHING to do. I hope that everyone had a great time!:thumbsup2

Erika check those dates

Steph--which date and which show are you going to Disney on Ice? We go every year to the BankNorth Centre (gosh, it hasn't been the Garden in forever! :rotfl2: ...before BankNorth it was the Fleet Center and before that it was the Garden! We still call it that once in a while, too).

Anyway, we have tix as well...have to look up when and where. We had some for this month, but changed till February--Cammie's birthday and all.

Oh Erika by the way they changed the name of it again it is now Td BankNorth Garden. http://www.tdbanknorthgarden.com/
I haven't been in it since it was the Boston Garden! So that just tells you how many years ago that was and I went to see the circus Front row center ring... yeah spoiled brat I was!

Good Morning

So I didn't get my car worked on yesterday, but that's ok. It's not so bad that it can't wait a day or two. No, he didn't work on me either. :rotfl2: Get your minds out of the gutter. He forgot about a fight that he was going to watch with some friends.

I was so bad yesterday in the eating catagory, but I loved it. My mom took my aunt and I to the Black Buggy. It's a local Amish buffet ~ need I say more. I skipped the bread so I could have stuffing :rolleyes1 Lots of veggies though.

Mom told me a cute story while we were eating and I just have to share, lol. I wish all of you could have been there to hear it. So, my mom is retired and she watches my kids when I am at work. One day this week, Ryan was quizzing Taylor and Mom thought that he was quizzing her on school stuff. Not my son!!! :lmao: He was quizzing her on WDW ~ more specifically ~

Podcast listeners will start to die laughing...

The Lakes

Ryan said something like 'what do you do around the lakes? And Taylor put her hands on her hips and said 'we stay away from them bubby, Duh.'

Omg, I laughed so hard that other people around us looked at me. It was so funny. I had to explain to mom where they got that from. Thanks Pete! Who knows if it would have sunk in coming from me, lol.

Just had to share. I still haven't caught up from Friday night, but I will sometime today.

Later Taters

Hello everyone!
Hope everyone is having a good day. I am off to work. It's going to be freezing tonight when I get home. Last night it was -17.
Ok off to shower and get ready for work.

Steph - minus 17 :crazy2: Stay warm! That is some crazy cold weather!

Nancy - I googled devil dogs ::yes::
I found some interesting pictures of crazy dogs.
I also found out that devil dogs is the name of a fan of Lancashire and England cricket teams.
There is also a devil dogs website for Marines! Who knew? (apart from the Marines!) :rotfl:

I did find the cakes website - they look much nicer than Twinkies! Also, you can buy them reduced fat. Not that I considered it or anything...:rotfl2:

Everyone :wave2:

So today was my first day that I tried the C25K plan that Erika posted the link for (thanks:) ) and boy am I tired and sore but it was realy good for me and mentally I feel really good about it:cheer2: I was also very proud of myself for drinking 2 glasses of water today (I am always dehydrated and never thirsty) this is a really big accomplishment for me! Thanks for the encouragment and help everyone:grouphug:

Heather! Yay!! :cheer2:

Steph, I guess now isn't the time to bring up that it is almost 80 here in FL. :p

So, we are here at BCV. We have a studio on the 2nd floor, overlooking the villa pool. We got up around 10 this morning, came over here and checked in (room was ready), then drove over to DTD and had lunch at Wolfgang Puck Express. From there we toured the new Contemporary rooms at SSR, then went over to AK and rode Yeti and Dinosaur, and are now back in the room relaxing with a beer.

We may wander over to the pool in a bit, and although half of it is closed, the deep end and lazy river are open and that is still better than most resort pools! Tonight is dinner at Le Cellier.

Last night at Coronado Springs was also nice. We were supposed to go and eat in Germany but got lazy and decided to just eat at the Pepper Market.

They have begun room renovations there and we were lucky enough to get a renovated room. The decor is MUCH nicer and they have the flat panel TVs now.

Okay, off to enjoy my beer! :wave2:

Yikes! That is CRAZY cold. Not nearly as bad here. 0* this a.m....and it's warmed up nicely to the low 20's...

Nancy - I googled devil dogs ::yes::

:rotfl: I knew you would! And I'm guessing that your results were a little more...ummm...*family friendly*? then what you got when you googled Twinkie :rotfl:

:rotfl2: Much more family friendly - much to my relief (and DH's - imagine his reaction when he saw the 'Twinkie' websites!) :lmao:

Why does this double post? Oh why oh why?

Okay, so I've been reading. And shopping. I have bought more food than you could imagine.

I've come to some realizations. But more on that later. Good stuff. Shifting things. I have to write it all down.

Also, some career stuff.

So, darlings, lots of love and hugs and hope you all had a good weekend, and extra hugs for those you who I know didn't.

Hey girls!

So if I haven't posted by noon tomorrow about having done C25K, someone needs to call me on it!! I am finding no motivation to run. And i need to start since I have another 1/2 five weeks from today.

:yay: I LOVE that job  I will indeed be looking for that tomorrow.

oh...and btw...do I get to mention to a certain someone that they asked for accountability on their food, yet.....I'm still waiting? :confused3

I need to go and order my new running shoes. Haven't done that yet - mostly because I can't decide which pair I want (between 2, very similar...) so I think I'll just order them both and decide when they arrive. ::yes::

ummm....Amy? Are those new tags you are sporting? Or have I just not paid attention to them before....:confused3

And Liz- the Crazy Train tag? Am I really just that un-observant?

Hi gang...

Busy weekend for me, but a good one. Stayed pretty much on plan and got a rockin workout in yesterday with my man Jesse. It's official, I am becoming a gym rat (yeah - that is a good thing). I am finding that I am now working out in a way that is out of my comfort zone. Before any of you get concerned, this is a mental thing as opposed to a physical thing. I told Jesse that that was a good thing though. I trust him in the sense that he is not going to let me do something stupid. I just need my mind to believe that I am capable of doing what I am asking my body to do (Like lifting 70 pound weights during my reps - who knew?) All is good and my confidence is growing.

OK - off to get some laundry done and catch up on a few things.

Talk to you all later,
Paula

PS - Nancy, I bought myself a new pair of sneakers this weekend.... I bought Nike's and I am lovin them...

Kat - you sound so much more relaxed now that you are at your happy place. Have fun and have a beer for me...

ummm....Amy? Are those new tags you are sporting? Or have I just not paid attention to them before....:confused3

OMG.

OMG.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!

The tag fairy! She came! She saw! She tagged!!!! pixiedust:

Wow, I spend half my life here, have some of my best friends, and now, finally, I feel like a real DISer.

It's a moment. I'm having a moment.

Thank you Tag Fairy, wherever you are!

Have I caught up? Heck no. :(

Caution! Caution! Rant in process!

I have looked all over Evansville this weekend for those tofu noodles and can't find them at all. We are so backward. I would give almost anything for a real grocery store (Whole Foods, Trader Joes, or Cincinnati's own Jungle Jim's). We can't even get great hummus here in the store. Why settle for good when you know there is great out there. Need I talk about artichokes? Marinated with no oil that taste good ~ not in this hole in the wall. Can you tell I just got home from the grocery? There were 3 gallons of milk left. Products don't sell unless they are on the shelves. We have about 200,000 people in the area, so size is not an excuse. I used to live in a one stop light town and we had better quality stores. I swear!

Ok, I am done for now. :p

Heather and Amy ~ kudos to you for starting the c25k. I think I might try it. I must make time!

Everybody else :wave2: Back to reading!
