In Search of my Body...Not The One I ate...#3 "Crowning Goddesses As We Go"

Company gets here in about an hour and I am just about ready. House is clean, tables are set, food is mostly prepped....just have to do those last minute things, you know.

BUT why oh WHY do I knock myself out for these people? For snow sticks and a box of cookies. Oh joy. I will be drinking ALL day.

Snow sticks. I fear for their lives if they show up with snow sticks.(again) Try to enjoy. Really. I have a ridiculous family as well...so I understand how hard it is. It took a l-o-n-g time before I would not cry before, during and/or after a family gathering because some of the people I'm related to are so....so....there isn't even a word to describe them. Rude? Self-centered? Thoughtless? Absurd? Outspoken know-it-alls? :confused3 Well. NOW I'm in the holiday spirit!

Yep. Still snowing. lightly, but snowing. And we are supposed to get another 4-6" tomorrow. Not quite sure how much we've had so far....ya know what I could really use? :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Brought home the chair & ottoman. LOVE 'EM  End table will be here in a few days. :woohoo: Now I just have to go finish the rest of my shopping...in between storms. :headache: Then to a party tonight :santa: always a fun one....lots of good food, good drink and good company! (Ha. 'cause it's not a family party! )

Nancy - can't wait to see how awesome the chair looks...

It is still snowing here as well with more projected for tomorrow. I am going to be baking tomorrow so as long as the power doesn't go out I should be fine. I think I have most of my Christmas shopping done now (finally). Just need to pick up stocking stuffers for my parents and a few other little things and I should be good to go.

OH - a copy of Twilight found its way into my cart... I'll start reading it after the Chiristmas.. promise...

Have a good night everyone...

Paula

Just checking in before bed....

Ran my a$$ off all morning getting ready for J's family...then had the party. All went well, food was excellent. No snow sticks, but I got a (as in one) kinfe from my in-laws. A paring knife. They are SO messed about giving gifts! At least the gifts for the kids were appropriate (though not at all "even").

They all left at 6 and by 6:15 we were out the door to another party. Stayed there till 10 then went to our local bar where we are "regulars." Kids with grandparents.

J and I came home and hung out and talked by the fire.

Lots of booze.

Now, bed.

ERICA--welcome! Hoo Boy! Now life is going to interesting with Liz and Lyz and Erika and Erica!

Liz - on one of their shows she said she calls him JB when feeling passionate...so it is probably...Jaaaaayyyy BBBBbbbbbbbbbeeeeeee....or something like that...:rotfl2:

JB :lmao: Oh, and Jinger?! What the heck kind of name is that? Is it pronounced JinGer or like Ginger?

Um, like WINE maybe???? :rolleyes1

Many a time Ive been distracted by wine.

I will be drinking ALL day.

 Oh, is this a cause for celebration? I do love to drink all day (disclaimer: not really, I promise I don't have a problem! :rotfl2: )

Hi All,

I haven't seen it yet, but its not for lack of trying! Everytime Ive made plans to go (it opened here on Friday) somethings happened - Friday my friends car broke down, yesterday the mother-in-law summoned us and today we are going on a girls night out for my friends birthday!

Ok guys - exercise. Can anyone recommend a good exercise for me. My 'problem area' is my stomach. It always looks bloated and that seems to be where the weight goes along with my thighs. Now Ive got a cross trainer which takes care of the thighs, but can anyone recommend good exercise to tone up my stomach? I have had back surgery in the past and my back is pretty weak at times, so the exercise cant be too strenuous on my back (Hmm, I dont want much do I! :rotfl2: )

Any advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Or tell me to get off my lazy bum and find out for myself - whatever! :rotfl:

I hope you are all having a great Sunday :goodvibes

Crappy morning.

Snowing here. Again (stopped for a few hours last night). Actually cancelled CHURCH today.

Im very sorry to hear that. Thinking of you and your family.

ELEVEN MILES!

Woo Hoo! Long run, check.

AWSOME JOB ERIKA!!!!!!!!!:worship: :worship: :worship:

Sorry. I actually like some of the things they have going, but their politics are not mine at all. I mean, obviously, we worship Jesus in a very different way - I have one kid!
Umm yeah by the next one the kids should be walking or at least crawling out!:rotfl:
BUT I did go to the gym! I'm awarding myself a gold star for that. ;)
Great Job!:worship: :worship:

I told my self last night that that will be a THING that I need to do this up and coming year is to work out! I have the spare tire / innertube look going on and while my top is shirinking (bought size 14/16W yesterday and a 16/18 reg size top) my bottom is still HUGE! I tried on a dress and it looked ok on top but way to many rolls on the bottom half!

OH and AGAIN thanks for the drink selection! OMFG was that good! I think I had about 8 or 10 of them think I am still somewhat plastered! No hangover!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I literally laughed out loud at my desk. Good thing no one is here today!

Maybe you have to spend your spare time breeding in order to get your house looking like that! *shudder*
A friend of our family had 15 (6 their own the rest they adopted) and they used to have each child clean a room for the week whether they used that room or not. Each child responsible for their own laundry at age 10. But their kids (born) were older when the others came I thinkthe oldest child is close to 45 and then the youngest is 22 now the last kids they adopted was a family of four who were only supposed to be with them for 2 days after two years they adopted them.

Oh poor you Amy! The first time we went to Disney with the kids I thought Zac would be like that only because the kid had double ear infections and he was as good as gold! I've been there... I have had "THE" kid in the restaurant. AS I told my husband if people don't like then they shouldn't be in a family restaurant! Let them go to the Bistro where the prices are to expensive for families to eat!:rolleyes1 :headache:

So my day of friday went well! I got done what I needed and went to work. Drove home in ZERO degree weather and Snow! I think the state of NY is conserving on SALT and SAND because they weren't doing either it was a fun ride home!
Saturday I actually got to sleep til 915 AMAZING!!!!:worship: my husband for letting me do that! I got up and sat around and then wrapped Nate's Birthday present! He was 17 yesterday (god I feel OLD) We got him a cell phone, we put him on our plan! (Erika, I found the way to communicate with him TEXTING he texted me so much yesterday I think it was almost as much as he has talked to me in a years time he even texted me to check in on me this morning) So I went and got my hair done! Chopped a lot of it off! Still looks the same just shorter! Pic later I promise! I ran (no NOT literally)to the mall, went into the store from the main store entrance got what I needed and left! went home and got ready for the party! Stephen's company has open bar for an HOUR. I was desperate to get there ON TIME! I had on my old to big pants and a HUGE WAY TO BIG for me top. So after we drove Nate home Stephen said lets stop and get you something new to wear. I didn't find bottoms that I like so got a new top that is pretty LOW cut! I love low cut tops LOL! I texted Liz and Erika for drink suggestions! Liz suggested diet coke and vanilla stolli for only 2 pts!!!!!! OH MY was that good! Erika they didn't have the pomegranate martini's but bartender said that sounded good and will try to get some to stock bar with!
I think in the HOUR at the bar I had about 6 drinks ON AN EMPTY STOMACH NO less! ! Finally we ate! Then I had 4 empties at the table when I left!

So the snow is falling here No snow yesterday it was bright and sunny! BUT TODAY it is S N O W I N G! about 10" total for the whole day we are supposed to get! Ok need to go! my M O T H E R is here!

Nancy -

Sending hugs and prayers to you and SIL's family...

Paula

PS - I have not seen Twilight yet either so don't worry...

OMG, the SNOW. Yes, we are IN for the day. Ok, not toally. J went for his run this morning (it was 3.....THREE...degrees out but not snowing yet) and I am waiting for it to get a bit warmer (shoud reach mid-20s) and then I will head out in the blizzard. For a run. And we will also go plow out my parents and our seniors from the church that we adopted (we call them our "Oldsters"...which they find HI LAR IOUS).

But for right now...J is making Chex mix, kids are outside (yes, in the blizzard...we have a lot fo stairs that go from our deck to the lawn and the snow is so deep that they can make it a sledding hill, so that is what they are doing), and I am going to make cocoa for when they come in.

Stay safe, everyone!

Kelly--not ignoring you...I will post a great ab workout later. But you MUST strengthen your lower back if you also want to do abs. Will explain.

Hey Gang,

I feel really bad about neglecting the boards lately (very long days are killing me). Just in case I don't get too many posts in prior to Christmas, I hope everybody has a safe and happy holiday. I'm looking forward to alot of slicing and dicing up snacks (healthy ones even, lol). I must say, the past few days at work have been rough. Way too many people with amazing cooking skills, lol. Well, off I go to get reacquainted.

Amiee

Thanks for all the well-wishes everyone. I really appreciate it. Even though she technically wasn't related to my family, my kids all called her "Grandma" too...It's going to be a tough holiday season. SIL's mother was in her late 80's (not exactly sure how old...) but you would have never known it. SO active, healtly...still lived on her own.... Had a big Christmas luncheon at her house last week with 15 people from her Bible study group. She was very, very happy up until the very end. ...Honestly - given the choice, I think that's how I'd want to go to. Quick, happy...after a long, fulfilling life. <sigh>

Looks like the snow is finally starting to wind down here - it's been snowing since noon on Friday - and I'm getting to the point where enough is enough already

Got to make ONE MORE LIST. Check it twice...:santa: ...hope to finish my shopping tomorrow after work. Thanks to being snowed in, I did most of my wrapping....so check that off :yay:

Amiee...nice to hear from you!!

Nancy - sorry about the loss - our family will be praying you can find peace throughout this Holy season in site of the sadness.

I hope all of you are having a great weekend
How much snow do you all have? We just got about 8" yesterday...another 3-3" tonight and more on Tuesday....probably have about 15" so far....not as bad as up north...they got over 2 feet this weekend!
Steph - great job on texting with your stepson..Dan's kis=ds text all the time as well...many kids find texting easier to talk about their feelings/thought..kinda like note passing...
Aimee - thanks for checking in!
Kelly - I know that side crunches really help the obliques..Treyner just had a hard soccer workout...they got into the lunge position..and had to hop 50 yards like that...then switch legs...with feet not being farther that a foot apart in stance...said his hind end and upper thighs are still ringing today....

Amy - glad you are safe and sound....plane crash in Denver spooked me...
Erica - welcome on page 1 is a list to kind of fill out about yourself and will let you know about us....
E - glad your party went without a hitch!
E - no kidding - that is 3 set's of doubles we have now...maybe we should come up with stage names...

You are supposed to have your pet's name for the first name and the street you grew up on for the last name.

Mine would be:

Cricket Blaisedell.:lmao:
