In Search of my Body...Not The One I ate...#3 "Crowning Goddesses As We Go"

Dawn, I think I just expected too much out of it. We also went 2 days before xmas and it was super crowded. We have season passes so I didn't feel cheated or anything, just a little disappointed.

Stay Safe everyone in the winter storms!!

Paula!!!! Love, love, love the pictures. Jellyrolls......we have always had such fun there.

So. We bought a chair & ottoman. Found exactly what we wanted tonight. exactly. right style, right fabric...right price, right availablity. It was totally meant to be. We pick it up Saturday. SO excited.

Stephen and I had decided earlier that this is what we would do for "us" for Christmas...instead of other gifts, we would get something for "us"...so I'm really happy that we found what we were looking for :goodvibes

Good luck tomorrow, Erika! We are expecting 8-14" of snow tomorrow afternoon/night. As long as the kids have at least a 1/2 day of school tomorrow...I'll be happy...another storm predicited for Sunday...

What fabric did you go with?? Everything I find is in the microfiber stuff. I'm not sure I like it or not.

We did get a microfiber...looks like distressed leather...it was exactly what we were looking for. :woohoo:

Popping on quickly guys. Scanned but definitely need to catch up at some point. And especially check out that TR.

Liz - it's Covert Bailey and he's done many versions over the years. The most recent, that I know of anyway, adds new to the title. The New Fit or Fat. Guess there was an old that I read. :lmao: Anyway, interesting I found. Like I said it changed my perception and some of my training methods. And made me realize that I'm changing my body's composition and ability to take off fat outside of working out time. I think before I read this book years ago I perceived that exercise was mainly in and out on calorie burn up. I didn't think about how you're changing your internal furnace so to speak. I find that a lot more inspiring when I work out.

I also based part of my long intervals on Hold It! You're Exercising Wrong by Edward J Jackowski. I don't buy everything he says (for instance I bulk and he believes squats and lunges bulk certain body types but they haven't for me too much) but he's kind of reponsble for my interval training. And with me always looking if I can keep up with what I'm doing for life. He believes that one's bodies get used to what you're doing and will react if you can't keep it up. A la Biggest Loser, eh? Like some simply can't keep it up. So many of the formers were on Oprah and they all said they exercise two hours a day. :scared1: I don't ever want my body to get used to anything I can't or refuse to keep up. So I'm always asking myelf - "Can you Lisa?" "Cause if you can't - make some changes".

So interesting reads.

Hi to everyone - I so have to catch up. I'm wiped.

We're actually getting a snow storm tomorrow! Yeah.EDIT: Whoops just caught it's coming from you guys so I guess you know:lmao: )I hate no snow in winter. We get hat some winters cold and no snow. And having my family on Saturday. I hold an annual movie/dinner Christmas thingy every year. We walk to a theatre all together and they all get their tummies filled in this tiny place. I still have to show you the place in pics.

Okay popping back on for a minute - have to get to work -

Fantastic news. BL stats are up. We started with 114 participants - I think. 28 went to the bitter end.

And I was #9 overall of all teams - all partipants. I'm thrilled. I am a competive girl and didn't expect to be that high overall.

Another BL starts soon. January 2. I think I need a break but it is a wonderful thing especially if you have a competitive streak. Don't get me wrong - I was happy for all - but I LOVE so LOVE a competition.

Unless I'm running of course. :lmao: ;)

Oh brother. Not ANOTHER one of you "Twilight" crazies  The gal that I work with....she told me today that if I don't read the book, she's going to bring it to work and READ IT OUTLOUD. :headache: Maybe. Just maybe. After the holidays. MAYBE. (if Lyz, Liz & Kat all run a 5K :rotfl2: )

Oh do it! Just to satisfy your curiosity - that way, if you don't like it you can call us all weirdos!

WOO HOO! Welcome, Kelly! My youngest daughter is Kelly as well...that and the fact that you are a Twilight fan means you are in like Flynn already! :goodvibes

May I say you chose a fabulous name for your Daughter! :rotfl: Its funny, I don't really meet many people called Kelly nowadays - in my class at school there were four of us, but not so many now!

Hi guys...Paula love the pics...you are really as cute as a bug...and look so much happier in these pics...

Thanks.... this really was one of the best vacations I have ever taken... more because of how I felt about me, but I think it really came from watching my parents be so happy...

We liked the Polar Express thing...but I knew nothing about it before we walked on...had no clue it was there so I was not expecting something...

So now I am curious..

Amy..Paula..what were you told or what did you expect? I usually am dissapointed when something I hope huge for is not what I expect...so sine I had no clue...it was okay...not fantastic...but okay...

E - you are certifiable...crazy lady...moving a dinner party and still running...you are our crazy, athletic, goddess...:worship: :worship:

Kelly - looove your pics...what ahandsome man you have...and look at you...you look 6' tall and slender as a willow...stunning....

All we wanted to see was the polar bear in the exhibit so to have to wait in line, watch a 15 minute movie of something I have already seen (and my dad fell asleep in - we did the walking route), fight the screaming kids waiting to see Santa only to finally get to the polar bear and find him asleep was very frustrating. Plus - I found the music in Sea World to be way to loud in general and it was worse in the line at Polar Express because we were trapped under a canopy. It was just plain horrible.... The exhibit was good, but I could have done without all the Polar Express crap...

Paula!!!! Love, love, love the pictures. Jellyrolls......we have always had such fun there.

My sister and I loved it there as well... just needed to get used to the idea of smoking in bars again... that is against the law in NY and I love the fact that it is... my throat was scratchy for the next two days because of that place...

Morning...it's a good day today. Dan comes in at 11:40 with the help of missing 2 snowstorms we are squashed between!

I am doing my little bit of Christmas shopping today....literally have done ZERO besides a present I stumbled upon not looking for Dan...my niece Skyler which I bought some cute outfits at the Disney Outlet in Orlando and...yup...that is it.

The trip was the main gift for the kids...they know that...we decided several years ago that they would rather have a weekend getaway or a trip than a bunch of stuff they do not need. It has been over 6 years I guess...They have really liked it and I like feeling we have memories...not closet stuff...but my kids are older...and when they were young...it was toooo much...but they also needed things then...now...not so much...

Baylor is the kid who wants $ to put towards a 4 wheeler he wants and has over $200 saved for. He keeps telling Dan to save his money and not waste it if he thinks Dan buys a coke he doesn't need! I wish I had been as good of a saver as he is! Carsyn got new outfits for the trip...and yeah...just feel like I need something under the tree I guess.

They all want a puppy...and that is very negotiable...I think we have decided on a golden retriever or golden doodle...have been talking with a breeder locally...

Okay...have a good day...will talk later!:lovestruc

Nancy....we want pics of your new chair! Glad you found the right thing for you two!:)

I totally get that...there was no wait at all when we were there...and I agree the music wa loud all over....now that I think about it...we could not hear each other during the shows...

We got in and out within 20 minutes total...and did not care about Santa...

Sorry that was kind of a bad time for you...BTW...Carsyn got her pic taken with goofy at MK since she saw you had one...I will need to post it for you...

Congrats on the new purchase.... enjoy it....

Amy - I am not a long line person...so agian...nothing would wow me at that point besides Sean Connery! Sigh!:cloud9:

Fly by for me since I am super crazy today...cooking, cleaning, long run, wrapping, Christmas cards, and grading. Not in that order. Plus a party tonight. So everything I just mentioned has to be done by 7pm.

Lyz texted me with the oh-so-important info. that Michelle Duggar had her 18th baby last night! UGH! How we hate those Duggars! :rotfl2:

See ya in the flip side...if I am still alive.

Lyz texted me with the oh-so-important info. that Michelle Duggar had her 18th baby last night! UGH! How we hate those Duggars! :rotfl2:

Ok, im almost afraid to ask this (but I will anyway, because I like asking stupid questions!) but what are the Duggars?

Kelly - here is an article about the breeders...er I mean the Duggars...

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/18th_baby

But honestly...whatever floats your boat...

I personally just could not get turned on by yelling out the name...

"oh Jim Bob...good golly Jim Bob...You are so amazing...Jim Bob"

to have even one kid with him let alone 18...

My BF in HS married a guy named Ralph...same thing...Ralph just doesn't exude sexy...it makes me think of Ralph Malph from Happy Days or a nursing home..your pick...

Where was I...oh yeah...they have 18 kids now and a perfect life with a mom who oozes sunshine and charm and is Mary Poppins on crack...and ya just want to slap her and say...have a real mom moment...I have seen your kids..they are all not perfect behaving...

They are super Christians as well...do not believe in even kissing before you are married...oldest son and his fiance only hold hands...and stare googly at each other...and cannot date alone...and it seriously makes you want to puke a little because the oldest kids still act like they are little in regards to the fact they don't have a single thougt it seems that is not their parents...it's like watching a cult almost...

Okay..sorry for those who love them...:worship:

you guys are seriously chatty - I LOVE it!

Hehe... I told you!!

Nancy, if only you knew how to post pics... Congrats on your purchase!

I am about 50% done with xmas shopping. My SIL is being a pill so she might get coal. I basically only need to get some things for the nieces (armwarmers, sigh, I feel like an enabler), a sweater for my FIL, and a frying pan for my MIL. Exciting. I should be able to knock it all out in a quick TJ Maxx run, or perhaps Kohls. I am considering doing so after work but not sure I want to deal with the crowds, sigh.

Last night was the company xmas party. It was actually quite nice. I generally dress down for work so I had a few comments about the difference. I guess I don't really realize how much difference makeup and fixing your hair makes.

Okay, back to Eclipse...

So I haven't read the entire thread yet, and probubly won't until this w/e (while i'm at my j-o-b:rolleyes: ) but I'm joining in thanks to some direction from dizneydawn... I realized I need LOTS of motovation and some humor would be nice as well!

#1 Name and Family you care to share plus a little about your weight struggles/programs you are on: Leanne 22, Husband Tim 26, "DD" Bella 22month (springer spaniel)
I have been stuggling with my weight since 2005, I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2004 and went on birth control, and when I came off in 05 My weight went on a hike, and it seemed like no matter what I did it just kept on hiking. My goal is to be the same weight I was when DH and I first met which is 160. I am now.... ugh 230, with a choloterol of 235. My dr said I had til the end of Feb to lose 15 lbs on I was going on meds.
Besides the weight and being uncomforatble in my body, the biggest factor at this point is b/c or the PCOS, it can cause fertility problems, and although we don't want to start a family now, we do one day, and with my weight it makes inferitility even higher, so I've started looking at my weight as not for my, but for my future family.
OK enough about that... on to more up beat topics
#2 What are some of your trigger foods?
Anthing that is sweet or easily assecible. I am HORRIBLE for grab and go type things, and this is something I really need to get out of the habit of. I love cooking, so a lot of times when I bored, I cook! (did I mention Paula Deen is my fav cook:rolleyes1  Not a good thing)
#3 What form of exercise (activity) would you love to do but have limited yourself from due to weight/confidence?
I played tennis in high school, and I L-O-V-E it!!! I truly miss playing tennis, but b/c of my weight I get so out of breath, it's just not working for me right now.
I also want to become a runner again. I ran about every day in high school b/c of playing in tennis, and I used to play soccer, but b/c of a knee injury had to stop. My goal is to do one of the marathons at WDW!
I also enjoy pilates and yoga, but some of the moves are tough right now.
#4 Occupation (if legal)
I am a EMT-intermediate at a hospital about 30 mins away. Although I enjoy it, it's more of a hobby, so I am going back to school for respritory therapy.
#5 What do you want to achieve from a healthier body / lifestyle?
I want to be able to wear cute cloths, and cute bathing suits. When DH and I first started dating I could going into a store get my size and leave. No trying on required. I want to achieve this again! Although I was 160 at the time, I didn't have alot of fat, besides my stomach having a tiny pudge, I was very happy with the way I looked!
I also want to turn any preventable causes of infertility astray.
#6 If you could celebrate with anything when you reach/ed goal, what would it be...or what would it have been? I would go in my parents attic and get out all my old cloths and wear them, and the of course have to go get more new cloths. I would probubly take a w/e get away to Concord Mills in NC! I love shopping, but b/c of the size I am now, I hate shopping for myself unless it's a purse or shoes.;)

As I said before I joined this board b/c I need all the motivation I can get. DH and I have been married 6 months, but it's been ruff. When we had been married 2 months my department had a big cutback lossing all OT, and also cutting back hours of regular employees. I went from 40+ hours a week to 12 hours in a good week. The worst part is we own our home, have 2 fairly new vehicles (a truck and a suv), and boat and a harley, and the big kicker, mine and DH salary were only at 5000 from each other. Fotunatly at this point we haven't had to get rid of anything, but unless I get a new job or more hours, somethings going to have to go. (hopefully it will be my weight so I don't have to pay more for clothes!!!)
Well I guess that about it for me now. I look forward to reading about everyone!

Of all the posts I just read, THIS is what I chose to comment on....:confused3 ...just what does that say about me?

Lyz texted me with the oh-so-important info. that Michelle Duggar had her 18th baby last night! UGH! How we hate those Duggars! :rotfl2:

I heard this on the news this morning. I almost gagged. The funny thing was, though, that even the news anchor was poking fun at them! (Kelly- if you didn't know this...all 18 of their kids have names that begin with "J". yeah. they're freaks like that:rolleyes: ). So the woman anchor says that "baby #18 was born...a girl, named Jordyn Grace....such a pretty name"...and anchor #2 (the man...) says.."yeah. They had to spell it with "d-Y-n" because they already HAVE one with "d-A-n"!" :rotfl2:

AND....Jim Bob wants MORE. The poor woman. This one was born by c-section. Now wonder - her uterus must have lost all it's elasticity by now :scared1: It can't contract anymore  (I'm about to have a Monty Python Meaning of Life moment here....:rotfl2: )

SOOOOO anyway....it's snowing here. We're supposed to get close to a foot of snow from this storm.

My kids had no school today. Whole entire STATE was cancelled. Of course, it didn't start snowing until 1:00 here, so they *could* have gone for a 1/2 day....:headache: But when I left work at 1:30 the roads were already HORRID. Absolutely awful. I live on a main road - state maintained....and the cars are just crawling by...you know it's bad when MY road is bad..

And Kat. I'm DETERMINED to get the pic's off my camera. And figure out how to post them. Someone who shall remain nameless, but who is currently on vaca in WDW with her hubby and 2 girls promised me detailed instructions....:confused3 ...but I think I *might* be able to do it....I just need to TRY!

Hey Girls,

:welcome: Leanne! You will find this thread very motivational and inspirational!!

Kat, I :lovestruc Eclipse. Somedays I like it better than twilight. and awesome that people commented on your difference!!

Erika,Steph Your to do lists today sound scary!!:scared1: :scared1: A goddess crown for both of you!

Don't get me started on the Duggars. I think the eldest got married down here in FL this fall. Hopefully they've kissed by now. Have you all seen the "not a clown car" picture of them, in the design of the motivational posters?? :lmao: :lmao:

So I braved the mall today. Some good sales that I thought I'd pass along.

New York and Company-50% off everything! I got a red sweater and nice black pants for 30.00. I had NO dressier pants that fit (which is a good problem to have!). I needed something for xmas eve.

Gymboree-25% off the whole store, plus additional random markdowns, plus if you have a coupon you can use it too.

Ann Taylor Loft-BOGO on everything.

Sears-40% off pretty much all their lands end stuff, even outerwear.

Everyone, :grouphug:

Hi Leanne! Welcome! :cheer2:

Kat - I wanted to tell you....Kohls. My boss went to Kohls this morning- she says they practically paid HER to take stuff from them  Seriously - she got over $400 retail of merchandise for $125.

Of course - it's snowing like crazy here now...so I can't go myself today...(it's a 30 minute drive in GOOD weather)....but hopefully tomorrow....AFTER I pick up my chair! :goodvibes

Hey....just two comments on this fly-by post...

First, Welcome Leanne! I am on a mom's tennis team here and I am running the Disney Half Marathon in 3 weeks...and I noticed that both of these are goals of yours. Please let me know what I can do to help!
