In Search of my Body...Not The One I ate...#3 "Crowning Goddesses As We Go"

Now that I think about it in my sufficiently buzzed state, I don't think I have ever run in a hat or visor. I did just receive my WISH hat and visor. WTH did I order them?? :confused3 Anyhow, They seem like they would be all right to run in. I usually just use a bondi band. Much cooler.

And Edward walking with Bella into school. I about passed out at that part. :lovestruc Eclipse is awesome.

Trying to decide what DH and I should do tomorrow night at Disney. After the osbourne lights, my parents are taking Delena for the night. MK open until midnight, Epcot until 930.....

Ok, so some Christmas shots and some ice storm shots.

Here we are decorating the tree. And one shot of the tree "finished." Now note...this is after the KIDS finished. Each year, after they go to bed, I go back and do it the way I want it. Are we surprised? So, I will have a "real" pic later when I post the rest of my decorations.

But...I hate this tree this year. We went smaller (it is 8 feet) and it bums me out. We usually go with 10 and put it in the cathedral ceiling part, but decided to downscale this year. Never again.

And in case you ever wondered what Magical Express looks like at 3:30 am, here it is:

DSCF6685.jpg

Funny story here. So I get to the bus and Miguel, the driver (did I mention that I always have to befriend drivers?) he asks:

Him: "How are you doing today?"
Me: "It is 3:30 in the morning, do you really need to ask that question?"
Him: "Is it only 3:30? I thought it was noon!" ha ha
Me: "No, you can tell it is 3:30 because it is pitch black and evil and vile."
Him: "Oh this is gonna be a fun one, huh?"
Me: "No, I'm ok. Hey, if I have to be here at 3:30, we might as well do it right. Let's rock this Magical Express!"
Him: "I like your attitude. Ok, hold on...let's burn this bus!"

And off we went. I liked Miguel.

Ok, the ice...

And in case you thought for a minute that my kids weren't true Mainers...
Yes, shorts in an ice storm. That's my kid.

And for Twilight lovers. Penguins. Lovely.

OMG, so many things.

Nancy, i swear I will reply to you when I am not buzzed. Lisa, you, too. Basically, entire thread...I have been drinking and can only talk Twilight and general merriment. But I love you all and do read what you write. :goodvibes

Scene where Edward walks her into school...OME. I adore that scene. Could watch it again and again.

Adore Eclipse. Amy, love your stalker work. :thumbsup2 It's made of win.

BD is hard for me. I like it but I like Eclipse better. Hmm.

Ice storm! Great pics. And the tree - what is wrong with it exactly? I can't find a thing.

Weight loss - ate a lot today. Tomorrow is exercise, back on the wagon. I really feel like I have to ween myself off the indulging. Man, it was a week ago I was heading to Port Orleans and waiting in the car with Erika for Kat to check in. Good times.

Amy, have a FAB time tomorrow. So jealous that you are there!

Lyz - Buy your own copy of the books. Trust me. I need copies just to lend out. Sick, no?

Oh Liz, I feel you. I need to stop indulging as well. It is like grief. I want to go relive last weekend again but this time with sleep. :)

E, glad you have power again. Great pics! We rarely get snow down here, just ice. So sucks, not even a proper snow day involved.

Amy, have fun this weekend!

And, yeah, I drank the koolaid. Started the book around 11:15, as of 5 min ago was on page 317. Will likely finish it tomorrow and then have to go buy the others. You all are making me break my cardinal rule (never buy new books, only used). I will be in Target anyhow on Sunday to pick up a TV stand to go with new TV that arrives Tuesday.

Now, off to bed!

MORNING! Rise and shine!

Ok, everyone PLEASE...can we go back to posting our food and exercise again? Let's start today, mkay?

MORNING! Rise and shine!

Ok, everyone PLEASE...can we go back to posting our food and exercise again? Let's start today, mkay?

Hi everyone,

Sorry guys - but I won't. (But I will of course cheer you all on). I know myself. One food - I don't look at - never have with my weight loss. And two - I'm an obsessive personality. And the less I look at things in general the better I do and the happier I am. I am really that obsessive. Unfortunately.

And here's where I am at -

Yesterday was our last BL weigh in. I'm taking a break. The scale will always make me more successful. Well - true and untrue. I didn't have a scale for the first half of the 78 pounds (I added this week's loss Liz:rotfl: ) and did fine. But it was years and years to lose. The last 40 have come this year alone because of the scale. But it makes me obsessive. And I pick mental health and happiness first. I haven't been able to learn from Liz. I haven't. :sad2: I wish I didn't put everything into the numbers but I do. And my emotions are attached to a loss.

So no scale for a month or two. It left the house Friday morning.

Exercise -

I think I was at a higher loss these last two weeks because of a heavy exercise schedule. I am always six days on and two days off. However in the last month I think three of my six day rotation choices were intense. Hour long intervals with hour cardio in between days. Jillian was one week. But the rest were rotated like that. And I feel spent. Overtrained. Lethargy. Fogginess. Achy (not normal workout aches). Not the usual pump you up feeling from exercise.

So I'm scaling back. Still 6 on - 2 off. But some more pilates. More classical stretch. More lighter options with the intensity which I love so. And only Jillan - because she's a short workout - will be six days on in a row. If I do my hour long intervals the 6/2 will not be for that week. It wil be intervals only every other day and then another choice after to be back on 6/2.

I firmly believe the body reacts to changes - big time. So I'm thinking my weight might stabilize or slow down for awhile until it gets used to the changes. But I have to. Lethargy is not what I want out of exercise since this is for life. I want to feel good more than I want the last pounds off.

So this is a long post. And where I'm at. So keeping on everything. Eating everything. Only foods I adore - healthy or crap - and trying to eat consciously. Emotional eating seems to be gone now from all my emotional work. I want to question that with paranoia but I think I'll just say Thank God. You take that out and it's a friggin' a lot easier to manage. So attempting conscious eating and exercise, same old, and where I end up is where I end up.

Thanks for listening everyone,

Lisa

Erika - loved the pictures. Ice storm wreak so much havoc. A lot of my friends were in the Montreal/East coast US one years back. But my goodness it's so beautiful too, eh?

Cullen/Twilight - you guys. Almost making me count my change to get the Gosh darn book.

Hi to everyone.

/
Amy - you mentioned the carb change you have to do so for the race. (and Erika of course), It intrigues me. I know you need the carbs for the body's energy for the race.

But do explain how it has to be so many weeks before. I love hearing about training and races. And strategies. So educate moi.

First, awesome that you are in for the Goofy. But no way I could run with a tiara on! :lmao: I usually have to ditch my hat after a couple of miles.

Ugh. When I run I never wear a hat. Or sunglasses. They drive me nuts. I think it's because I sweat so much. Anyway...I *mentioned* the fact that I STILL don't have a "goofy"...and Stephen's reaction was "oh my GOD. are you KIDDING me?" :rotfl: Then, he pointed out the fact that since I already have a Donald & a Mickey...if I were to go for the Goofy next year, I'd get ANOTHER Donald & Mickey for those races as well...and I'd STILL be (as he put it)....*unbalanced*.

I hate this tree this year. We went smaller (it is 8 feet) and it bums me out.

Ours is smaller this year too...and I don't like it either. I mean - it's a nice tree and all...but...just not really what I prefer.

And in case you ever wondered what Magical Express looks like at 3:30 am, here it is:

ummm..what IS a magical express bus? :confused3

Nice pics. Especially the shorts in an ice storm. I'd be FREEZING

I really feel like I have to ween myself off the indulging.

Same here. I got home from my trip a week ago today. Just am not "feelin' it", kwim? :sad2:

Ok, everyone PLEASE...can we go back to posting our food and exercise again? Let's start today, mkay?

yes, yes!! That's what I need. :woohoo:

I agree completely. And also, I believe that everyone's body acts/reacts differently - so what works for one, may not work for another. The big *trick* is figuring out what works for YOU. For me...I need to track. I am a "mindless" eater. Just graze without thinking...so I need to pay close attention to what the hand is putting in the mouth  and if the hand is forced to write it down on paper....well, then...hopefully it will think before acting

Hmmm....for me...when training for the long events (1/2's and full marathon) I ate more carbs then I do normally, because they offer a more readily usable energy source to the body. So, the night before my "long runs" we did quite often have pasta - quick energy conversion there. One of the challenges that I faced, was if I didn't feed my body the "quick energy" foods, it would start to draw from my muscle for the energy it needed. :headache: Kept the fat (of course :rolleyes1 )...."ate" the muscle:scared: of course, muscle burns more calories at rest than fat does - so that was totally counter-productive

However, when trying to lose weight, I do much better with the slow-digestion foods...high fiber, lots of quality proteins...minimizing the "white" starches, like white pasta, potatoes, breads, white rice, etc.

Did I even answer the question you just asked. :confused3 or was I just rambling again

Oh and DAWN...where are you, woman? :confused3

Thanks Nancy. It's all so interesting to me. All that that you all have to do for races. So intriguing for me. Thanks for explaining that.

Dawn is just returning this weekend I believe.

Exactly Nancy. It's knowing yourself. And knowing what is best for you. Often in the past I hestitated to talk about my choices - because it triggers others when they're not doing the same. But that's silly. I am a cheerleader for anyone's choices (unless they are unhappy because of their choices - and then I will speak up) so why shouldn't I be able to think outloud about mine. Which have worked - for me.

It's wonderful to hear you say that. Everyone is different. I get so frustrated when people talk about exercise - what works - when what works for one might not for another. I'm big boned - "woman don't bulk" well I'm sorry I do folks I don't care what they say. Sometimes when my body is lifting - my arms no longer fit - and I do mean fit they can't lie flat down my sides - with my torso - honestly physically uncomfortable and I have to watch it. Certain cardio builds my lower legs in an awful way. Etc. Etc. Etc. Whereas a small boned woman can lift a certain way and not get the same effects. It's just rational thinking that everyone of us is different and what works for me - might not for you. And vice versa. I know, 100%, that food tracking is an excellent tool for many. A given. But not for me. I like to not think about food. Thanks Nancy. That really helped me. I get lonely sometimes. :lmao: Feeling like why can't I make peace with the scale like others etc. etc.

I agree with Nancy. And sadly, I am in that bad place where the more I train, the more I gain (or at least maintain). My body knows that it is going to need all of this fuel and thus doesn't let any go. Of course, I am drinking plenty of alcohol, and that is never good for loss. :rolleyes1

So after the half in January, I will scale back my distance and up my weight training and try to take off these last few pounds.

And LYZ...I am still laughing about the Victoria's Secret episode. TOO FUNNY!

And trip, plans. Now. Not tomorrow or Monday. And you will be doing a live report, right?

Kat is just about done with Twilight. What would that be, like 24 hours? Nice.

I remember Oprah saying something similar Erika. She sad that she continually gained when training for her marathon. That because she had to put in the distance - it was a big change - for her - from her previous intensity during workouts.

I just find all the preparation so interesting. Do you start to lessen your running a week out or something as well. Nancy? Amy? I guess I'm a race groupie. :rotfl:

Erika - I'm a nag. Hair. It looked so much lighter. Did you lighten it? Or that just stuck from the summer. It's a pretty shade.

I think your tree looks pretty regardless of being smaller. It's nice.

Lisa--no, I didn't lighten my hair. I have never colored my hair at all. I have no gray and it bleaches out and highlights all by its little self in the summer. So those are the highlights you are seeing. They are much more vibrant and prominent in the summer and I love them. I still have a lot of highlights right now.

It is, however, time for a cut. Nothing huge...just a trim and re-shaping kind of a deal.

Lisa, if you PM me your address, I will send you Twilight. I can't stand the thought of you wanting it and not having it.

Done, as of 3PM today. And that is with a healthy dose of internet, not getting up until after noon, and going to bed at 2AM last night.

Now I need the next one. It's a sickness. Thinking of going out and getting the rest. At full price (well, target/walmart discount price anyhow). You all SUCK!!l

However, I did get somewhat back on track at least so far today. Lunch was a boca burger, ff spinach dip, and fiber crackers. Going to try to stay strong for dinner... still not feeling well enough to try working out. I definitely have the cold but so far it isn't awful, just raw sinuses/throat and a runny nose.

Lisa, whatever works for you, you know? The most important thing is your health and happiness. And I really admire that you are making this a lifestyle, not a diet or a deprivation.

Do you start to lessen your running a week out or something as well.

yep. It's called "tapering". You train your body to run progressively longer runs each week...then as the "big race day" approaches, you run progressively SHORTER distances. That way your body has been trained, yet somewhat "rested" for the race.

(where is the stick-out-the-tongue smiley? ). Plenty of "natural gray" here. I'd be happy to share...:confused3

Precisely why I'm holding out....

One of the girls that I've worked with for 6 years is graduating from college tomorrow. A semester early with a double major! Party at her parents house tonight. I gotta go. Just gotta. For several reasons. The most important, of course, is 'cause she's fabulous and I love her to pieces. But...almost equally as important.....they are MEXICAN. Yep. the food is AMAZING and tequilla abounds  ...and I soooo need to re-live some of my vaca right now ;)

OMG, this is why I love you, Nancy! :lmao: Gotta love a fellow tequila girl! At some point, please remind me to tell you about the Square of Tequila. Great story. I told Liz and Kat...and now Liz is drinking with her husband. Good stuff.

I drink with mine all the time. But no tequila. Although, I do have tequila and margarita mix left over from the trip... :scratchin

So, I didn't go out and buy the rest of the books yet. But I *am* reading the draft of Twilight from Edward's point of view on Stephenie Meyer's website.

And, I didn't stay strong. Pizza for dinner.

Nancy, hope that you enjoyed your dinner! Sounds wonderful.

Amy, hope that you are enjoying WDW tonight!

Liz, sorry I missed you last night, I logged off. Texted today but you are off buzzing like the social bee you are, I think. I will be around all day tomorrow (after 11AM-noon), so call and we can discuss.

E, hope that you have caught up on everything now. :goodvibes

First Twilight. Thanks Erika. But no. I can't see anyone sending it here for the same amount it would take to buy it myself. I'll shut up about it. I appreciate it Erika.

Hair. You lucky little sh!t you. Holy crap. No gray :scared1: Are you 39? That's wonderful. My mother has just turned whitish in the last couple of years and she's 72! :scared1: Redheads they turn bloody blonde instead. Lucky.

You. Your colour is beautiful. Just beautiful Erika. Lucky, lucky you.

And Kat - thanks for your words. You made me feel better. Thank you.

yep. It's called "tapering". You train your body to run progressively longer runs each week...then as the "big race day" approaches, you run progressively SHORTER distances. That way your body has been trained, yet somewhat "rested" for the race.

Oh how I would love to drink. I love drinking. But I have rosacea. Sucks.

Actually - this makes losing weight easier. I don't love other drinks, non-alcoholic ones:lmao: , so I drink mostly water. Cause if I don't love love love something I won't have it. But drink drinks - oh how I love rum. How I love you rum. Geez I'm romancing rum and C-O-O-K-I-E-S this week online. Oh boy.

Then, he pointed out the fact that since I already have a Donald & a Mickey...if I were to go for the Goofy next year, I'd get ANOTHER Donald & Mickey for those races as well...and I'd STILL be (as he put it)....*unbalanced*.

Nancy, I agree with his logic. Like you and EriKa, totally need to have another kid. 3 makes an odd number. 2 or 4 is acceptable. (Liz - not you, one is enough. One is perfect.)

And trip, plans. Now. Not tomorrow or Monday. And you will be doing a live report, right?

There are no plans. Just park touring. Epcot on Wed (dinner Italy), MGM Thurs (lunch H&Vine), Friday MK (lunch LLT) evening at DTD, Sat AK - evening BW (dinner at B&Cream), Sun whatever we want (dinner Plaza - MK).
Hopefully swimming and a trip to the outlets. It's going to be loose and easy. See the holiday trimmings and act like tourists.

Yeah, I don't guess their will be a trip report. I'd have to pay for internet access. I'll keep up with the thread on my phone, but posts will be few and far between. I'll text you from the bathrooms:lmao: .

Word.

Love Mexican food. Yum.

Today I cleaned my house. Deep cleaning. Tired.

Hey everyone, i refuse to claim thread bankruptcy, i'm starting back where i left off, so this will take a while (and seem like old news for everyone).

I am typing this in WORD and saving every two seconds as the computer is still spastic. Now it’s not the power, but apparently something with the graphics card? Every few minutes the graphic feed to the monitor just stops. If I turn the monitor off and on, it works again for a few minutes, not sure whats up, but it’s IRRITATING! :headache:

Anyway… I begin…

Everyone – I’m sorry so many people had bad black Friday shopping experiences. I had those experiences once, NEVER again, I sleep in until 10 that day usually. Oh, and all of this commenting over “Twilight”. I feel the need to run out and read it, such hype!

Erika - again bear with me, probably “old news” and you’ve blasted past this, however 18 miles in two days….. WOW! Good for you! I’ll post pics of my sad sad Christmas decorations in a separate post, I too however am a colored light fan, just a warning :cutie: . And from what you’ve been telling, your mom does sound like an absolutely remarkable woman, I can see where you get it from!

Amy – Congratulations on the ½ - so proud of you!!! I bet you felt like a rockstar! I know what you mean about your house needing to be “mom” clean, bruce gets so annoyed when my parents come over (which isn’t often) because I turn it into a two day clean fest, I just CANNOT have dishes in the sink and the house MUST smell like cleaning supplies…. Those pictures of Delena are ADORABLE!

Steph – I’m so sorry about the trouble and drama with Nate etc.. That’s really tough, I haven’t had experience with that but Bruce had 3 mothers, and one of them cranked the psychological abuse to a whole new level trying to play him against his step mother, it’s sad. Hang in there, I think you are doing the best you can given the situation!

Dawn – you always inspire me….

Lisa – you always know just what to say

Liz – That side shot with your “before” pants, you look awesome, so proud of you! – And I wish I could eat those haystacks, they sound great, BOO for the inability to each Chocolate…

Lyz – your bathroom Christmas tree is cracking me up, that’s great! :rotfl:

Everyone who went on the trip – those are great pictures, you look like you had so much fun!!!

Taking a small break to eat some food- only 19 more pages to go!!!! :scared1:
