In Search of my Body...Not The One I ate...#3 "Crowning Goddesses As We Go"

I think you need a 16. Low waisted. Then there's no issue about the tummy. Long shirt and poof! Also, I keep finding jeans for you girls with the skinnier legs and behind...they are popular now!

I don't think I could wear jeans under my gut... LOL... I like to have it tucked in... lol

Nancy - stop, breathe.... feel any better... good, now get back to sewing... those kids need costumes... can't wait to hear about the Cancun trip... and on the college application results...

Kat - how is your kitty doing? Hopefully, a little better???

YOU LOOK GREAT!:thumbsup2

I don't think I could wear jeans under my gut... LOL... I like to have it tucked in... lol

Sara I have a hard time wearing my jeans low too!

I am having such a RUSHED day. And my long run is out the window for the day. So I will have to do something else and get that in tomorrow. To do a 90-minute run, I need a 2-hour block of time and I just don't have it today.

Closed on the new lake house this morning. Done. Now I have the winter to decorate it. Val, you got here just in time. ;)

Good Morning everyone!
Thanks all for the warm welcome.

I live in Middletown, NJ with my husband Dan and our 2 kids, Marilyn (5) and Christopher (3). We are huge Disney fans - we have vacation club at Old Key West but usually stay at Boardwalk for our yearly visit. We just got back from our most recent trip - in early Oct. We love, love, love Halloween at Disney.

I'm happy to be here!
Val

OMG, how is it you are just now coming here? You are tailor-made for this group. Really. Kat, Dawn, and I are DVCers as well. Liz and Lyz are wannabes.

She scrapbooks! She has pictures of her WW transformation, month by month. How cool is that? Don't you think she should start uploading the digital images of that? They are really nicely done. They make me stuff look like, well....you know. ;)

Her job is pretty cool. Love how she glossed over that. Lyz, get on her and make her talk about it.

Yes, pics are mandatory. And there is nothing small about losing 45 pounds! Go YOU!

And Lyz, yes, get on this. :lmao:

Debating about doing Xmas cards this year... Are digital e-greeting viewed as a cheap cop out? Would any of you be offended to get an e-card? Saves money on postage and the cards AND is environmentally friendly... I don't see it as bad... Most people throw out Xmas cards anyway... What do y'all think?

Anywho back to work... I will try to post more today... (no promises tho lol)

On the Christmas card issue...several of my friends and I have discussed this for this year and the unanimous agreement is that online cards are cheesy. Now granted, we are in a different generation than you are, so that might be part of it. I was thinking about doing e-cards and Jeff was like HELL no. And so was everyone else. I know, I know...not the answer you wanted, but that is the decision we have come up with.

Having a great food day so far--now I have to run and pick up Kel's new bike for her birthday. The shop called and it is in! Phew! I was starting to sweat that one. We had to custom order it, so it's not like I could just run to Target and get one. I was really worried that it would not be here on time.

So cool you bought the lake house ... Where in the middle of no where maine is it??:rotfl2: i know that you like to rough it so will it have electricity? You know I am just joking. But where is it is it close to my dad? Oh I am taking off martin Luther king jr day to come to maine for the weekend!! Maybe we can hook up of the days we are there!

UMM DO NOT forget me I am so green that you guys can go ALL THE TIME!

Ok Kids are home need to go be MOM!:hippie:

Actually its just the answer I wanted... I still haven't made any decisions so I wanted an honest answer and I got one :) I haven't even decided if I want to send em period... So we'll see...

Kat - how is your kitty doing? Hopefully, a little better???

She is scheduled for surgery in the morning. Her bladder stones have recurred so she has to have them out again. She gets to wear the cone again for 2 weeks, which I am sure she will be thrilled with, and will have to be quarantined in the bathroom away from the kitten for at least 3-4 days. Poor kitty, and sadly, poor wallet. I know I shouldn't feel that way but dang, it's expensive.

As to the xmas cards, I am anti-card as a rule so I would be the wrong person to ask. It is just more paper to pile up. I guess I sort of see them as a throwback to the pre-tech age. I mean, what are they really for? We all keep up nowadays through email, text, phone, etc. Does anyone send a LETTER anymore? So I would be all for the e-card.

Okay, just realized I have to finish something... post more later...

At my day job, I'm an interior designer. On the side I bake fancy cookies for parties and events. (I am so sick of these particular cookies, baking them has not interfered with my commitment to WW.) Now, regular cakes and cookies, they are a problem. As are most comfort foods.

Newb - you are living my life. My dream, as a girl in elementary school, was to be an interior decorator for the "stars". Ha. Funny.

And I love to bake. My dream now would be to have a banquet hall and cater. So neat. I will pick your brain.

When you post a picture of you, please also post a picture of your baking projects.

My husband and I own a construction company. Residential and light commercial. We probably have some commonalities.

Was told I was missed so I thought I'd better get my butt back here before I get in trouble...

Well I worry about you cause once you start to drift away, you leave for like 4 months! Totally not acceptable.

In other news I've been eating poorly... but wierdly slowly losing weight so I think I am readjusting stuff...

I think our bodies are so forgiving. You can abuse it for a while and it won't push back. It's when you consistantly do the wrong thing you fail. Look at Liz, totally put on 6lbs in one weekend, then dropped it right back off.

And you look SO AWESOME in the pictures. You are a different woman. Did you feel lighter touring the parks? KWIM? We all know how it feels to traverse a park and feel hideous, and then catch a glimpse of yourself in a street window and remember that what you look like isn't the person you are in your head. You are literally someone else. Did you enjoy the park more because of it?

Lyz - I am loving your dedication to yourself right now... exercise, watching the food thing... you are gaining some serious momentum... loving it...

Paula, goodness, I am so struggling today. I want to just envelope myself in the comfort of food. The hotter/greasier, or sweeter/richer would just make my minute. Minute being the key word. Minute. Minute. I am chanting now. I am at 460 calories.

Oh NO STREP! I hope NOT!!!

It is strep. More after the jump.

Sara I have a hard time wearing my jeans low too!

Me too. I buy low then hitch them up. I am a 31 year old dork.

Closed on the new lake house this morning. Done. Now I have the winter to decorate it. Val, you got here just in time. ;)

So exciting. I would love to hear the details. Maybe over lunch.http://www.disboards.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

We had to custom order it, so it's not like I could just run to Target and get one.

 Do I scare you, with my common bikes?

Kat, I send cards. Not regularly, but I do. And I certainly LOVE getting a card or a letter. But you are all about the high tech stuff, so I can appreciate your view.

Mad has strep. I slyly asked for the shot and so when they came to administer it, we had full on trauma. She screamed and bucked. 2 nurses and I held her down. I was so not going to fight to force thick nasty liquid down her throat for the next 10 days. She out to be on the mend right quick.

My inner thighs are sore. I say, ow, ow, ow with each step. I blame Kelly Ripa. I did one of her recommended moves from a fitness magazine.

Ok, must do payroll. Check in, well probably in 5  .

Hey All...

Got my 8.3 mile stroller wog done today in a couple hours. Emphasis on the W though. It is unseasonably humid here today and that just slows me down. I think I started having electrolyte issues around 6.5 miles (despite drinking G2 and fueling a few times before this), so I doubled back to the 7 eleven and got a frozen gatorade energy drink and felt much better. We had to turn the AC back on yesterday since it's back in the 90's. Yuck. But at least it's done and I won't have to do a LR in Vermont.

I do snail mail holiday cards. I've got a lot of older relatives who don't do email at all. Which reminds me again, I must take photos of DD soon!!

I totally LOVE low waisted jeans. For me, they are super flattering. I refuse to wear anything else. I am paranoid of the muffin top look. :scared1: :scared1:

I'll be back later!

Amy

I haven't taken any recently now that I think about it... Thanksgiving is coming and I promise to take some... I promise...

Poor kitty.... take good care of her... I can relate to the poor wallet part... ouch...

As for Christmas cards, I still write them. I even write notes and letters to my friends when they are dealing with a bunch of crap to help them cope. Call me a softie, but I am still a little old school that way. It makes me sad that the digital world has all but eliminated the diaries, love letters and other mementos our moms and grandmoms used to keep. What traces of ourselves will we be leaving to future generations? OK - time to turn off my sappy self...

Step away from the food....
Repeat after me.... "food is fuel not comfort"
if the past 18 months have taught me anything, that is it. You can get through this... I am with you... even if it is minute by minute...

Doing well w/ my food choices today... I'll post the full day later tonight.

It did feel different... I felt free and pretty... I noticed people are nicer when you are thin which irks me!

I don't think I mentioned it but we did get major dreamed while there... DH was pin trading for Donald pins and we were trading with a cast member named Trish... Well we chatted with her about the pins and then went off to do more trading... Well she chased us down cuz someone traded a Donald pin with her. This led to a 45 minute conversation about the park and secret stuff in the park. We asked about the Lilly Belle and she said she'd see what she could do about getting us on it and took our number. She assured us that if we didn't get on there she'd work something out for us. So we get a voice mail from her the next morning (we missed the call cuz our phones are awful) and we saw her on Main St., she told us she had left a msg that the Lilly Belle wasn't running because of the rain and handed us a piece of paper that got us (DH, a couple gals we met the morning before who were awesome, and me) a 5 minute private meet and greet with a princess or 2 at the Princess Fantasy Faire which was at 4:05... We originally wanted to leave at 3 but because of that we didn't lol... She said to keep our phone on cuz she was still working on other stuff for us... So a few hours later while we were buying and trading pins she called and said to meet her by the Partners Statue at 1:45. So we met her there and she tells us we have to hurry to the train depot cuz we are taking the train to where we were going... So we get there and a few cast members are telling us the history of the depot and stuff (most stuff Will and I knew from our Walk in Walt's Footsteps Tour) and we get escorted to the train and the Lilly Belle is there!!! The Lilly Belle is a private car used to dignitaries and what not. It was originally built for Lillian Disney... It was sooo beautiful! They pulled it out cuz the rain had stopped! So we got to ride around the park in it and hear its history.

The train gal also gave us a pass for up to 6 people for any ride in the park (we gave it to Steph and Sarah because they were staying in the park)... Then we were told that was not all... Our Dream Team member Trish then took us across the park to the Haunted Mansion...
l_e63185bedf724949a353e0cca8c83b5d.jpg

We were led around the side of the building...
l_168bdcffdf9340428b75ea8a7f77ff3b.jpg

We got to see the original Pet Cemetary that was eventually closed off to the public!!
l_264610dd8a6443a3a509cd0fedb7d84f.jpg

We also go to see the door that celebs go into the foyer from when they have private viewings... She tried to get us one but the lines were too long :(
l_28ae2cea1f0b4fbb9a4198fe7ed558ef.jpg

All in all it was totally awesome and Trish took great care of us!!

I started this post at 7:45 this morning, before I went to the gym....it's now 4:00 and I'm home from work....I'm sure I've missed stuff in between!

Woke up with a KILLER headache today. I think it's an unfortunate combo of dehydration, lack of sleep, stress, and hormones. Went and did my run anyway...it felt great too! I'm really starting to feel like I'm getting back into my "running form" - just in time for the Turkey-Day race in 2 weeks! :thumbsup2

On the downside - I've remembered just how HUNGRY running makes me! I can bike for an hour and a half, burn twice as many calories, yet not be ravanous all day. Maybe it's the "afterburn"? :confused3

I love that I feel good. And whatever comes now is just added benefit.

That's a great philosophy.

Stacey - where the heck are you little master's girl?

:rotfl2:

I guess I want us all to strive for better - yes. But love ourselves too. As in accept and strive. Balance.

AMEN :worship:

Nancy--Goddess Crown for you--totally! For being, like, the ideal mom. Your kids are going to look back on this (when they are parents themselves) and realize how much you did for them.

What is up with the college apps? Where has he decided to apply? Just Norwich, or others as well?

Thanks for the praises :flower3: I really hope they do look back fondly....

College app's. Well - the essay is *done* (I myself may have tweaked it a bit more, but hey - it's not my essay, right? :confused3 ). Norwich is the ONLY school he wants to put an early application in on. :sad2: It's due the 15th (Sat). I'm really going to try to convince him tonight to put in 2-3 others - even if they are schools he hasn't yet looked at...just get a feel for what his options are going to be, yah know? I mean - if he wants to go to Norwich, and they accept him AND he gets the Army ROTC scholarship - that's AWESOME. If he gets in, but doesn't get the scholarship :scared1: that's a whole lot of $$$$ and I'm not so sure that I want to foot that bill....and if he doesn't get in at ALL? :scared: Gotta have a plan B, or C, or even D!

I think I'll have to take a mental health day tomorrow.

I wanna mental health day too....please???

Nancy - I almost left you out. How could I do that to a woman who spends her days baking.

I figured we would be seeing less of you for a bit. What with all the drama sewing, goat & teen herding, and choir arranging. Big hug for you.

Thanks. I needed that hug. :goodvibes

Lisa - I am Liz. I want to be a size 10 and weigh 155.

That's a great goal. :thumbsup2

I am 5'8" and my goal is about 150 or so. My lowest 2008 weight was 159.6. As of Tuesday morning I was 179.2.

 I know what it's like to lose then gain some back...then try to re-focus to lose again. It's challenging. And you're not alone...I'm in that "time to lose that which I've allowed to come back" phase of my life again....

Paula, what is the Liz diet? Champagne? :)

:rotfl2: PINK :rotfl2:

'K...so with the interruptions here - that only took me 1/2 hour! :faint: and my head still hurts...:headache:

I am not perfect, none of us is perfect, but we're in this together.

Once again, Liz....AMEN :worship:

Nice to hear from you Sarah! And yeah, I'm all for environmentally friendly, but when it comes to Christmas Cards? I vote for sending the real thing.

And maybe I'm just a freak - but I save the cards from year to year, then cut off the fronts and make gift tags with them...

but I was muffining over the top so I didn't get them... But at least they buttoned!!

UGH. the dreaded MUFFIN TOP. :headache: The bane of my existance :rolleyes1

I think you need a 16. Low waisted. Then there's no issue about the tummy. Long shirt and poof! Also, I keep finding jeans for you girls with the skinnier legs and behind...they are popular now!

ahhh...the fashion-ista speaks. :listen: We should all listen carefully - she KNOW'S what she's talking about! ;)

Nancy - stop, breathe.... feel any better... good, now get back to sewing... those kids need costumes... can't wait to hear about the Cancun trip... and on the college application results...

Awesome post - start to finish....except...when you told me to stop and breathe? well, I didn't expect you to send my RIGHT BACK TO WORK. <sheesh> :rotfl2: no rest for the weary!

Oh NO STREP! I hope NOT!!!

I'm one of those mom's that always REJOICED when the Dr. said "strep"....at least it's something they can give an anti-biotic for and the kid starts to feel better ASAP :rolleyes1

I am having such a RUSHED day. And my long run is out the window for the day.

BAH.

Closed on the new lake house this morning. Done. Now I have the winter to decorate it. Val, you got here just in time. ;)

Hooh boy Val. You are in for it NOW! :rotfl2:

Poor kitty, and sadly, poor wallet. I know I shouldn't feel that way but dang, it's expensive...

Yep. I know what you mean. Hopefully she'll make a quick and complete recovery! :cat:

I want to just envelope myself in the comfort of food. The hotter/greasier, or sweeter/richer would just make my minute. Minute being the key word. Minute. Minute. I am chanting now. I am at 460 calories.

Isn't that some song? minute by minute, by minute????:confused3 Probably some "oldie" from when I was a kid, waaaaaay back in the 70's :scared: :rotfl2:

Me too. I buy low then hitch them up. I am a 31 year old dork.

:rotfl:

<phew> I think I'm caught up finally

My head still hurts - DH has a meeting at 7:00, so I gotta get goin' on dinner. I so do not want to cook....:sad2: <sigh>

ooooooh-kaaaay.

So. I'm monopolizing the thread now.

Or talking to myself...:rolleyes1

My head is feeling better....yeah....2 advil and 2 HUGE glasses of wine...that'll dull the pain. I *think* that my pain was previously erronously self-diagnoised. I *think* that my brain hurt because AMY sent me telepathic messages to let me know I wasn't DRINKING HER SHARE! :rotfl2:

oh dear. There is no WAY I can sew costumes in THIS state.... well...I couldn't have done them with that nasty headache either. :confused3

So cool you bought the lake house ... Where in the middle of no where maine is it?? i know that you like to rough it so will it have electricity? You know I am just joking. But where is it is it close to my dad? Oh I am taking off martin Luther king jr day to come to maine for the weekend!! Maybe we can hook up of the days we are there!

Ok, so this is not a cabin or anything. We are calling it a "camp" or the "lake house" but it is about ~1500 sq feet, so while it is a lot smaller than our house, it is not super tiny like a cabin would be. ABout 1000 sq feet on the main floor and then a good sized loft above. Catherdral ceilings and tongue-and-groove wide pine panel. And yes, it has electricity and all sorts of other amenities like a flush toilet! :rotfl2: Only 1 bathroom though, so that will be a challenge. I will get some pics posted over the week-end. One wall is all glass looking out at the lake.

It is not too far from Albion. Maybe 25 minutes? And yes, we must do drinks if you come to Maine. I mean, you drive right by my exit on the way up.

Minute being the key word. Minute. Minute. I am chanting now. I am at 460 calories.

This is excellent. Sometimes minute by minute is the way to go. And scream when you need help. Eyes on the prize, right?

Me too. I buy low then hitch them up. I am a 31 year old dork.

:lmao:

 Do I scare you, with my common bikes?

Oh, this has nothing to do with being a bike snob. It has to do with Kelly's size. Due to the illness, she is super tiny. Her growth was stunted for like 18 months (she will catch up by like age 8 or so). But she has the abilities and agility of her age...but it is impossible to find a "big kid bike" in her size. She has been off training wheels since age 3.5, so she is a great rider. And we have been able to keep her in a small two-wheeler all this time. But she wants and needs gears, hand brakes, etc. And they just don't make them in her size. We found some boy ones in her size with hand brakes, but nothing for girls. So I had to go to my bike guy and he said he could get one for me but they would have to special order it.

To get an idea of her size...she is in like a 4T/5. And she is in first grade. Probably the same size as Emily.

Sorry about the strep. And yes, I would have done the shot as well. And good on the sore thighs. That means you are working. :cool1:

Hey All...

Got my 8.3 mile stroller wog done today in a couple hours. We had to turn the AC back on yesterday since it's back in the 90's. Yuck. But at least it's done and I won't have to do a LR in Vermont.

WOO HOO on the miles, Amy! Goddess crown, totally! And yes....now you don't have to go when on vacation. SO good.

I have to echo this. I keep a hand-written journal for the kids. I update it a few times a year...their favorite things, what they are into, and of the funny things they have said, etc. The written word is so importand and I worry that it will be lost.

:thumbsup2

Sorry about the headache, but great job on the run! And yes, he needs the back-ups!

And maybe I'm just a freak - but I save the cards from year to year, then cut off the fronts and make gift tags with them...

Um, yes. This qualifies you for freakdom. :lmao:

Nancy... PINK champagne, of course!! And I will help you by posting a few random things although I don't really have much to say, just a few min to wait for something to finish so I can head out of work.

I should go to the gym but it is already 7:30 and I have to stop at the store, too... which means not home until like 9:30.

I am sadly somewhat excited that my size 14 jeans that have been much too tight lately, are fitting rather well today even straight out of the wash. Plus I have new boots from my shopping trip the other day, so I feel all stylish. Well, that, and tall (they have a 3" heel).

Okay, stuff is done, off to somewhere (home, gym, not sure). I might be on AIM later, depends. I am caught up on CSI:NY for now. ;)

Food for the day...

S = apple, small (40)
Lunch = veggie sandwich (170); fiber one (140)

Exercise =

EriKa - I didn't realize Kelly was so tiny. Goodness.

Got my 8.3 mile stroller wog done today in a couple hours. Emphasis on the W though.

Go Amy!!! And I love having something "off" my plate, such as you just did. Get it done now, not on vacation.

It is unseasonably humid here today and that just slows me down.

That's too bad. I hate the humidity in Florida. It's like I get there and instantly need 2 showers a day cause I feel so scummy.

It did feel different... I felt free and pretty...

"I feel pretty. Oh so pretty. I feel pretty and whitty and gay, and I pity any girl who isn't me today. La la - la la - la la - la la - la la."

Sarah, I'm so glad. All that work, physical and mental, so worth it.

I don't think I mentioned it but we did get major dreamed while there.

Woo dogies, you hit it big. I love behind the scenes stuff. Wow.

ooooooh-kaaaay.

:rotfl2

:lmao: Hi Lar Ious. All of it.

I am sadly somewhat excited that my size 14 jeans that have been much too tight lately, are fitting rather well today even straight out of the wash. Plus I have new boots from my shopping trip the other day, so I feel all stylish. Well, that, and tall (they have a 3" heel).

Why that's not sad at all. It's awesome. I don't know how you walk in heels all day.

Food:
b: pb sandwhich (130) pickle (10)
l: 6 piece nuggets (250) side salad with lf Italian (80)
s: 1 nugget (40)
d: brocolli in butter sauce (100 I ate the whole box) 1/2 cup pulled pork with 2 tbsp of sweet bbq sauce (not sure of calorie count)

2 victories. What I did eat. And what I didn't eat. The rest of my family had pulled pork on keiser buns, mac n cheese and freshly made potato chips (still hot).

Have a headache. I am serious tired. I am heading to bed early.
