In Search of my Body...Not The One I ate...#3 "Crowning Goddesses As We Go"

Liz - I need more info on these chocolate haystacks.

You said a sleeve of fiber one cereal - the squigglies. So I imagine a sleeve, like a sleeve of Ritz crackers.

I finally find fiber one and there is only one bag in the box, right? Like normal cereal.

It was 4.99 and I wasn't going to spend that much if it was the wrong thing.

Next, how many do you make? This box is humongous and I imagine like 100 haystacks. What size and what is the point and calorie count?

Do you freeze the extras?

Food today (random, but okay) Looking at this now, it's probably not really enough for a long distance day.

B:honey nut cheerios, skim milk~200 cal
Food/Drink during Wog : pretzels, fruit snacks, G2, frozen gatorade energy drink
L:Peanut butter and jelly on whole wheat, about 250 cal
Snack:Tomatos and mozzarella maybe 200 cal
Dinner:Cream of wheat cereal maybe 250 cal

Drinks:Skinny coffee, water, G2

Nancy: So glad that my telepathic skills are working properly!:rotfl: Advil and Wine sounds like a great remedy for a headache!! I haven't been into any drinky-drinks since Sunday. That's a long time for me.

Erika: Your food and exercise post reminded me I need to order the shred DVD!! The cabin sounds awesome.

Kat::woohoo: for the jeans fitting better!

Sarah: Loved all of your pictures! it sounds like DL was a great trip!

Val: Your jobs sound like so much fun!

Paula,Lyz: I think wog is such a fun term. (and perfectly describes what i do when I venture out with DD). I like it almost as much as coirker. I am so lucky to have this time right now. I would have never attempted an 8 miler with DD while I was working. I would have done it on the weekend, by myself to get it done as quickly as possible so I could go and do the 5 million other things that needed to be done. This time is absolutely priceless.

Liza, Lisa

DH is still not feeling well. I think he might have some sort of food poisoning. He is going to the doctor tomorrow. DD is having her 15 month appointment tomorrow. She is all off schedule because she was so sick with the pyelo infection for her 12 month, so obviously that got put off, so we're just now getting to the 15 month.

Cheers!
Amy

Liz--inside the Fiber One box there are two packs (sleeves) of the cereal. So that is what she means.

Going to sleep? Party Pooper. (Hey, I can't talk...it is Thursday, which means conferences...which is going on right now and I just am toggling.)

Hi gang...

sounds like everyone is in for an early night due to headaches, exhaustion or work.... unless your Stephanie and then it is for exercise...:rotfl2:

anyways, here is my food report for the day

B - JC cereal, dried cherries, skim milk and tea
L - JC beef chow mein, broccoli, LF choc milk
S - apple, vitamin bar
S - pretzel crisps w/ laughing cow cheese
D - JC meat loaf and potatoes, broccoli, green beans
S - JC pumpkin spice cake and tea

OK - off for my last snack and then to bed... this getting to work by 7:30 is killing me....

have a good night everyone,
Paula

I am sadly somewhat excited that my size 14 jeans that have been much too tight lately, are fitting rather well today even straight out of the wash.

I can relate. Small victories though :thumbsup2 But those HEELS? I'd totally twist an ankle...:headache:

2 victories. What I did eat. And what I didn't eat. The rest of my family had pulled pork on keiser buns, mac n cheese and freshly made potato chips (still hot).

ooohhh..sounds YUMMY. :goodvibes Your choice was way better though.

Have a headache. I am serious tired. I am heading to bed early.[/B]

Oh no, not you too! :headache:

Nancy: So glad that my telepathic skills are working properly!:rotfl: Advil and Wine sounds like a great remedy for a headache!!

Ok - definitely not enough food, IMO.

Yeah - the advil and wine worked. For a little while. :sad2: Buzz is wearing off, headache is returning. I'm throwing in the towel here soon and going to bed.

Exercise:
short-ish run - 4 miles

Food:

B-Kashi/blueberries/milk
Sn - banana/yogurt/protein powder smoothie
L - salad w/3 oz. turkey breast (no dressing - forgot to pack it), fiber one bar
Sn - fresh pineapple (about 3/4 c) 1 oz. tortilla chips w/ 1 oz cheddar cheese
D - brown rice, steamed green beans and this chicken/mushroom dish that I make (has no real name....but it's yummy)
Sn- yeah. 'bout that. I had a piece of ice cream cake. :scared: don't even want to read the label on the box. I blame it on the headache :rolleyes1

oh yeah. and wine. The remainder of the bottle of Cab, then polished off the chard. :rolleyes1

NANCY! I am shocked at you! You START with the white wine and then go to the red! :lmao: :rotfl2: Sheesh.

NANCY! I am shocked at you! You START with the white wine and then go to the red! :lmao: :rotfl2: Sheesh.

I know, I know. Cardinal sin! :lmao: But I really thought that the first tankard of red would do the trick! :wizard: Didn't expect to have to call for back up! :rolleyes1

Wow - so much to read!! I will catch up soon..It's so great to see the rapport in this group - Liz was right...this is a great place.

And by the way Liz - that's for your praise...I wish everyone on the board could see the face of our WW leader Julie, when Liz walks in the door on Wednesday mornings. Her mouth drops open. Sometimes I don't even recognize her. She changes every week! I think the people that are really losing in that group are doing so in part because of Liz's enthusiasm and weekly contributions to the group. She is amazing!!!!
You ran 4.5 miles today in 45 minutes!! That is excellent. You were moving!

I'm trying to get names straight here...so please forgive me if I'm messing up...
Lyz (DisneyWorldDelight?) thanks so much for sending the details form. Unfortunatley, I'm not clear to send pm's in my NewB. state. Should I just paste it into a reply? Also, I love that you work for Vandelay Industries! We have a Vandelay Cafe in a nearby town. I think they must be related.

3DisneyKids - congrats on your new vacation home! I hear Maine is beautiful -I have always wanted to go there. I'm so glad I'm finally here...I had no idea all this Disney-goodness was here. Do you scrapbook too? Ths Disney books take a long time but they are so worth it.

MunkyMe - love your pics - don't you love Disney at Halloween? You were in California? Love the dream story, too.

Paula - constructions mgmt scares the bejezus out of me! You must be a strong woman! Managing 1 contractor is about all I can deal with right now. Our firm usually does commerical work (mostly libraries) but we seem to have a flood of residential at the moment (which I prefer). Looking forward to swapping recipies!

Ok...time to read more...I will get a grip on this eventually.
Hope eveyrones heads are feeling better! I'm all too familiar with the pain in the head.
Val

Hey All...
. We had to turn the AC back on yesterday since it's back in the 90's. Yuck. But at least it's done and I won't have to do a LR in Vermont.
Amy

You just wait AMY till you come to Vermont! you had better bring a warm clothes and a parker! BRRRRRRR it's cold up here! Right now it's 44 and the wind is whipping! and I think rain! I had wanted to plant bulbs today but when I came out of the grocery store the sun had turned to rain! When do you head NORTH?
Ok, so this is not a cabin or anything. We are calling it a "camp" or the "lake house" but it is about ~1500 sq feet, so while it is a lot smaller than our house, it is not super tiny like a cabin would be. ABout 1000 sq feet on the main floor and then a good sized loft above. Catherdral ceilings and tongue-and-groove wide pine panel. And yes, it has electricity and all sorts of other amenities like a flush toilet! :rotfl2: Only 1 bathroom though, so that will be a challenge. I will get some pics posted over the week-end. One wall is all glass looking out at the lake.
Ok this is about 400 aq feet smaller than MY HOUSE!:scared1:

It is not too far from Albion. Maybe 25 minutes? And yes, we must do drinks if you come to Maine. I mean, you drive right by my exit on the way up.
Actually I don't if I come from here. I take rt 2 all the way. OMG it's long, but shorter than if I drive to boston and then drive to Maine. But I may take an afternoon and drive down mind you I will have three kids in tow!

Hey Val, I'm Stephanie! Welcome!
I had a cheat sheet for about a month I had three columns one with DIS names, One with real names and a third with AIM names! You will get the hang of it ! I so need you to come to my house and re do it! I have HORRID wallpaper in my house ... in fact in my bedroom there is wall paper with pirate ships on it!
CIMG2364.jpg

This is TOTALLY NOT MY DOING! I just bought this house a month ago and I need to start shredding wallpaper! My half bath is worse it is aqua fish swimming with gold glitter !
Not a great Picture!
CIMG2355.jpg

I know I OWE Pictures more than this! really I was going to take some and then I ended cleaning out Sam's closest and that was an all day chore and I had to work so It is half done! I will get on it! I promise!
Here is another one! NOT MY STUFF! I took these while we were redoing the garage!
CIMG2347.jpg

Ok Sarah LOVE the pictures ! That is so cool that you got all that stuff... Nothing like that EVER happens to me! NO free cruises no magical wishes! I saw the dream team last year and they walked the OTHER WAY! How magical was that! Hoping for some magic on the next trip!
Ok off to go make cheese and crackers for 40 kids:scared1: both boys have snack day tomorrow! I can't wait for snack days to be over!

Ok Food for the day!

Breakfast~ banana ( I actually ate breakfast this morning!)

Lunch ~ home made corn chowda! a Coke Zero

snack ~ 20 oz water

Dinner~ roasted chicken, butternut squash (2 helpings), 1/2 c stuffing, glass of milk and a POPOVER!

20oz water while doing dishes!

Oh pampered chef update! I had $607 in sales! I got $115 FREE and got the only two stones that I didn't have in that free stuff plus bought 2 more EXTRA ONES for 60% off! I stopped there! So i spent $23. Not bad!

Steph -- LOVE Pampered Chef. I have some microwave plastic steamer pots that I adore. I used them at least twice a week to steam veggies.

Val, I can totally see Liz lighting up the room at a WW meeting. I can't wait to meet her.

E, congrats on the lake house.

Lyz/Nancy, I always wear heels, except of course to the gym. Usually somewhere between 2" and 3.5" (which make me between 5'10" and 5'11.5"). Not sure why, I guess I just think they lengthen the body and shorten the feet, and lengthening is better than widening, and my feet are big so I will take anything that makes them look smaller. And heeled shoes are cute. My feet are used to it. Plus I have a desk job so it isn't like I am on my feet all day.

Nancy, you sure are picking up our slack!!

Amy, hope DH feels better soon.

I take kitty in in the morning. Hopefully this time I don't break down in tears when I drop her off, like I did before the last surgery. Poor vet tech didn't know what to do. They love Trinity, though... she didn't even need to be sedated to shave her belly and do the ultrasound last week, such a docile sweet kitty. She is currently under a blanket on my lap, a last quiet evening before spending a week of discomfort. I hate hurting animals even when it is necessary... they just don't understand that it is for their own good, you know?

Food for today:
B: Coffee
L: half slice of pizza (150?), salad (100)
S: other half of slice of pizza (150?)
D: Rest of chicken liver pate made last night (250), fiber crackers (200), ff pringles (70)

Total, 920. But, not sure on the pizza, it could have been up to 500 cals in a slice (big flat NY style supreme pizza), so could be as much as 1120.

Exercise, 40 min on the arc trainer (no hands Liz!!), 30 crunches on the weight-bench ab crunch, 30 on the oblique ab machine (the one that swings).

Water, 80 oz.

I was just happy because I didn't leave work until 7:45, had to stop at the grocery store, and didn't let the fact that it was 8:30 stop me from going to the gym. :)

Hope everyone has a great night!

It was our first time going to Disney during Halloween time... It was fantastic! The Halloween party was a blast! I loved all the decor too!!

Good Morning Everyone!:flower3:
Stephanie - Thanks for the cheat sheet idea. I had little notes on post its all over the table last night before my post.

And duh...I finally found the 3rd post Lyz mentioned, with all the profiles. Oh happy day!! It's like the Rosetta Stone...

I think the pirate paper get snaps on the kitsch factor...aagrh! And I had a little bathroom like that in my old house - with a tiny little sink. I got so big when I was pregnant, I could not use it. I LOVE to wallpaper, so if you need any encouragment on your papering journey, just give a holler!

You are going to all have a great time at Disney - you are going soon, right? Where is everyone staying? I can't wait to see the pictures...will it be the first time everyone meets?

Look at Val! Waking up the thread and everything! ;)

Another busy and rushed day today! Back up to campus for me (third time in one week and that never happens) for yet another meeting. Then I have to clean my house at some point because the girls each have a playdate coming over, and you know I can't let their moms see my house in its "natural" state. :scared: Then of course, I still need 2 hours for that blasted long run. And it is raining. So even if I find the time today, it will be in the rain. At 45*. Not fun, but at least I have the podcast. (Yes, I save it for my long runs.)

Oh and I should mention the real stress of the day. Kel's friend that is coming over today. Her mother is my nemesis in town. SO not going to be comfortable. And of COURSE my kid would just HAVE to be best friends with her kid. That story is a story for another day.

First, I owe an apology to EriKa and Nancy. I tend to gloss over when I read your exercise. You guys push so hard and far that I just expect it now. (The newb reminded me inadvertantly.) And I don't say "Yaay" or anything, but when one of us mere mortals walks a lil ol mile - I'm all jumping banana. That's not right, and I'm sorry.

Ha, that is so true. I love it! She is SO the superstar. I think she should probably start getting commission from WW. Liz - how many converts do you have now?

Lyz (DisneyWorldDelight?) thanks so much for sending the details form. Unfortunatley, I'm not clear to send pm's in my NewB. state. Should I just paste it into a reply?

Yes, you should post it into the thread. That way everyone can read it and I'll add to the first page.

Also, I love that you work for Vandelay Industries! We have a Vandelay Cafe in a nearby town. I think they must be related.

Val- are you joking with me? If not, I'll explain. I don't really work for VI - it's a joke. Vandelay Industries is from Seinfeld (George Constanza always used this name when he was lying about where he worked.)

I don't think I could bear 6+ full on months of cold. No way.

I so need you to come to my house and re do it! I have HORRID wallpaper in my house ... in fact in my bedroom there is wall paper with pirate ships on it!

Ha that's so funny. Do you and Steph exercise in character? oh and EriKa's "camp" house, 250' Bigger than my everyday house!

Lunch ~ home made corn chowda!

Steph - could you, pretty please, send me the recipe for corn chowda. I have recently had some at a restaruant, and I loved it! So freaking good. And a calorie count too if you have it.

Oh pampered chef update! I had $607 in sales! I got $115 FREE and got the only two stones that I didn't have in that free stuff plus bought 2 more EXTRA ONES for 60% off! I stopped there! So i spent $23. Not bad!

Congrats on the party. I love Pampered Chef. A local rep always has a booth at the Home & Garden Show that I committee on. She "gives" me a piece and a big ol discount for placing her in the same place each year.:yay:

Lyz/Nancy, I always wear heels, except of course to the gym. Usually somewhere between 2" and 3.5" (which make me between 5'10" and 5'11.5").

Kat - you are killing me. I wish I wore heels all the time. That is my dream. When I'm a skinny minnie. I weigh too much now and it just hurts. I wear heels to church and business dinners but that is only hours, not a whole day.

I take kitty in in the morning. Hopefully this time I don't break down in tears when I drop her off, like I did before the last surgery. Poor vet tech didn't know what to do.

 I understand. Our pup is family.

I was just happy because I didn't leave work until 7:45, had to stop at the grocery store, and didn't let the fact that it was 8:30 stop me from going to the gym. :)

Great job, so tempting!!!

So I went to bed early and laid there with a headache till 11:30. That was not my intent.

Off to the dreadmill. Catch you all on the other side.

Oh and I should mention the real stress of the day. Kel's friend that is coming over today. Her mother is my nemesis in town. SO not going to be comfortable. And of COURSE my kid would just HAVE to be best friends with her kid. That story is a story for another day.

Ok, that is HI LAR IOUS! and holds so much promise of funny! Can't wait. And yes, get that house clean. We can't have that witch thinking you are not perfect!!!

:lmao: Wow, Val, you woke up the board! Erika...you are slacking! What were you doing, girlfriend, WORKING or something all night? :lmao:

Sorry. I'm tired. I find this hilarious!

Okay, food for yesterday and then a real post!

Breakfast: 4 haystacks (LYZ, I swear I will write the haystack primer today)
Lunch - homemade panini with two slices of bread, one laughing cow spreadable cheese, three slices of turkey and mustard.
Dinner: This is my coup! I ordered Italian bc I had a friend over (she's a professional organizer who was doing my office with me - HEAVEN and FREE bc we swap services). We ordered a huge salad, a chicken wrap (with grilled chicken, veggies, small amount of olive oil and vinegar) - delish! and sauted escarole.

OMG. SOOO good! And no fatty stuff! (Val - New Corner in Red Bank - they deliver to me)

Snack - A 2 pt choccolate WW bar.

Lots of water, no formal exercise but I did organize my office and that's super tiring!

I love all the action on the board! I have to go and take Em to school and do my two hours at the gym, so I will come home, reply to all of you - it might take 3 posts! and then write The Definitive Guide to Haystacks, by Liz.

Morning!!! Let's make it a great day to start the weekend!!!

Oh, and I should mention since she won't. LIZ. Her daughter Emily--who is 4 years old mind you....just got her first Vera Bradley purse. Ya, I know. :rolleyes1

Val - so you are new to the DIS boards? Isn't that crazy. You even own DVC.

So anyway, for Val and the rest of you, I recommend the Budget Board. I check it daily around the holidays. I find tons of gift savings there.

3/4 years ago, when ipod shuffles were $100, I got mine for $69 from a tip there.

Couple years ago, on Thanksgiving night, right after midnight, I learned you can buy many of the Black Friday Sale Items from Walmart ONLINE! Right then I bought 2 name brand digital cameras for $88 (each) for christmas gifts. (Oh and a video camera for me.)

Anyhoo, thought I'd share.
