In Search of my Body...Not The One I ate...#3 "Crowning Goddesses As We Go"

Your phone may not have text forwarding. My last phone didn't, though this one does.

So J is home...and SICK. And being quite the baby, I might add. In 13 years with his company, he has used a grand total of 3 sick days. Yes, in 13 years. While he gets the occasional cold or whatever, he still goes to work. But if he is sick enough not to go in, it means he feels just awful. But the worst part is that he wants me to just sit there with him. Like, next to him on the bed or couch or at least in the same room.

Um, you are 40 years old. I have crap to do. We just got back from a long vacation and I am way behind on all fronts. I cannot CAN NOT just sit and stare at you all day because you are sick.

Not sure if I mentioned it here or not, but Kel is off to Boston Children's Hospital tomorrow for a bunch of invasive testing, etc. Not looking forward to it and that is a big part of why we went on the trip at this time. We like for all of us to be in a really good place when she has to go through this stuff.

AMY--I am way off on my Half training as well. Lots to say about that, too. I will get around to getting up to date.

LIZ--don't sweat the poundage. When it goes on fast, it comes off fast. You will back in the 150s before you know it.

There should be options and forward should be one of them well that is how it is on my phone! I have either reply or options
HMM I don't get calls from anyone!!!!!! HOW COME? DOES NO ONE LOVE ME ANY MORE????:rotfl:

Erika isn't is funny that when MEN are sick they expect the world to stop and take care of them! When woman are sick MEN expect that their world should continue like normal.
Stephen's the same way come sit with me I don't feel good! WHINE WHINE WHINE! I was sick on Sunday and guess what I still managed to bang out lunch and get dinner for the boys while he was out HUNTING! I feel for yeah today! I told Stephen to cut off his balls the last time he was sick and he just looked at me and I simple said Well I do things when I am sick and I don't have balls so I guess that means you need to get rid of them! He was kinda stunned! I think that was a day he begged me to call in sick so I could stay home and take care of him and the kids! He doesn't stay home on days I'm sick! MEN WHAT A BUNCH OF BUTT HEADS!

Ok, quick food post and then I will reply!

Yesterday...
Breakfast - 2 haystacks (the homemade fiber one cereal things)
Lunch - Half a salad, cup of chicken soup at Panera and an apple
Snack - Chocolate cupcake (can you tell what I got yesterday???)
Dinner - Bowl of chili with lowfat cheese
Snack - Movie theater popcorn! Yes, I had make up s*x with movie theater popcorn. It was okay, but not as good as I remembered - isn't it always that way??? :lmao:

So, 33 pts on Wednesday. I am down to 23 pts extra for the week, but that okay because I won't be drinking that away. Right? :rotfl:

Steph - Zac's levels ok? I know they were kinda wac on the 4th.

UMM no just had to run to the school because his sugar wouldn't go above 70 with 30 grams of quick sugar. I guess I will be re adjusting his insulin dosages! I was up last night checking him and doling out juice boxes at 1 a.m. Then finding something to do for 15 minutes besides sleeping so I can recheck it! Just waiting on his lunch numbers to know if I am going into work or not! Won't they just love me if I don't go in!:rolleyes1 I had a verbal warning yesterday for missing time! Oh because I couldn't use FMLA to bring zac trick or treating! So I had to call in sick! I swear for a hospital they have sucky sick time policies!

Erika I forgot to say good luck with Kel tomorrow at children's! Hope everything turns out ok.

Yes, can totally relate. Men are just....

No you didn't mention it!

And also, didn't you, like, participate in a triathalon?

No hablo dieto? You homemade fiber cereal? Ohh Martha.

LYZ!!! Do you not know me at all? Girlfriend, haystacks are fiber one and chocolate chips mixed up and chilled. Yum city.

Dawn - So glad B is doing better. Yes, we are in for Ragland Road, dinner, cake, et all.

EriKa - nice to see you back!

Steph - I am so proud of you for voting!

Nancy and Amy - We totally did Erika proud with our weekday drinking, didn't we? ;)

Kat, Sarah, VAL!!! Come play!

I'm here, I'm here. I was crazy busy at work yesterday, then didn't get online last night because we went grocery shopping and stocked the fridge with good-for-you stuff. THe fridge consists of a few measly condiments so it was time. And lately I have a total CSI:NY addiction so watched on on DVR and went to bed.

Food for yesterday:
B: coffee
L: michelinas mac&cheese (240), salad (100), can of tuna (80)
D: Spaghetti made with 96% lean hamburger (400-500?)
S: 1 bag ff popcorn (200) and 2 beers (300)

So, about 1400-1500? Not too bad. Exercise, none, unless you count meandering the Wally-World for 2 hours.

E, glad you're back. Will give y'all a report later, or maybe on chat? Long story.

Hmmm, sounds interesting. Please give me exact amounts. A cup of cereal and 2 cups of chips?

This. I will excuse. I like my telly.

Ya

E, glad you're back. Will give y'all a report later, or maybe on chat? Long story.

No chat for me tonight. It is Thursday which means online conference night for me. I had a sub for last week since I was on vacation and she didn't show, so I really have to get through a ton of material tonight.

Good thing we had such a great time on this trip, otherwise I would say it wasn't worth it...all of the stuff to do beforehand and everything that has to be done upon return. *sigh*

Ok, need opinions. (I am taking a quick break from work and going through some vacation photos...always helps with the post-vacation blues.)

I just love this picture of my kids and am thinking of using it for our annual Christmas card (gotta have those done before Thanksgiving as well). But the problem is that this is not holiday-ish or Christmasy or anything. What do you think?

Way OT, I know.

:rotfl2: :lmao: Only you would come up with this!

Okay, this is what you do:

One sleeve of Fiber One cereal. A whole sleeve of the squiggly stuff.
One package of semi-sweet chocolate chips, 12 oz.
Peanut Butter is optional. I don't use it. Dilutes the chocolate and doesn't add much flavor.

Take the chips, put in a glass bowl and melt them in the microwave for 2 mins. Then mix in cereal. Scoop cereal onto wax paper lined cookie trays. I use a teaspoon, but the recipe says tablespoon. I like them smaller so I can eat more.

Then pop them in the fridge or freezer! Once hard, I store mine in a bag or Tupperware in the fridge - Dawn, like the shout-out???

They are pure chocolate yum and good for you...keeps you moving! :lmao:

I LOVE it. Use it. I can't wait to get one!

Hi gang..

thinking of you all and reading everyone's posts.... work has me crazed today, but will post later when I get home from a friend's birthday dinner...

Food wise - I am doing good today...

B - JC cereal w/ raspberries, skim milk and a cup of tea
L - JC panini sandwich, yogurt, celery w/ PB and a banana
S - my daily apple and vitamin bar...

Love you all and my quick thoughts (not complete, but quick)...

E - don't need to have a holiday themed picture for your card... go with something that makes you smile... I like it when I get cards with everyone in the picture and not just the kids... oh and tell J to get over it... he is sick, be a man and deal with it....

Steph - I have ideas for your party... will send them later tonight....

Liz - glad to have you posting again.... you are such an inspiration... will have to try the haystacks...

Lyz - just love you for being you...

Dawn - sending hugs and prayers.... I can't be at Raglan Road for dinner, but I will stop by for drinks... I will be at the Candlight Processional concert that night... I'll call when I leave Epcot and we can catch up... I so need to send you all my schedule for that week so we can figure out when to get together....

Hey everyone!!

So, I got my LR in today. Well, since I had DD in her stroller, it was more of a wog, but I did do about 7 miles in about 1:40. Obviously way slower than usual, but ok. I thought I only did 6.5 ish, but since I forgot to turn my garmin back on 4 times after stopping it to cross roads, I used mapmyrun when I got home to check distance and was glad to see I had done 7 miles. I don't usually take DD on runs at all. ( I am selfish about my runs, I view it as my alone time) Her stroller is not technically a jogger, it is an all-terrain (it has the 3 wheels like a jogger). It worked ok. I may look on craigslist for a true jogging stroller. I decided the weather was just too nice to get on the dreadmill today. I sacrificed some speed, but at least I got the distance in. Only issue I had was a pain in my right leg. All the way down and it wasn't muscle pain or cramping. I hope to do some pilates and crunches while I watch TV tonight.

I also mopped and vacummed, 3 loads of laundry AND made chili for dinner!

Erika-I hope all goes well with your DD's appointment and testing. :goodvibes I also love the picture. It reminded me that I need to think about what I should do for a card this year.

Liz-I :lovestruc weekday drinking. I will be trying the haystacks next week. DD might even eat those.

Steph-Nothing wrong with boxed wine. target sells a great boxed sangria. And I am a sangria snob.

Everyone else-

Lots to report and very little of it good, I'm afraid...

Spoke with Dawn today and Baylor is headed back to the hospital tomorrow. The docs may do a skin graft after all. Poor kiddo is still in pain and the wound doesn't seem to be healing as they thought, so the graft may be necessary. She'll report in when she can.

As for my household...now I feel bad complaining about J earlier. This guy is S.I.C.K. Seriously, we have been together for 15 years, and I have never seen him like this. He is so weak he actually had to crawl to get to the bathroom. Just miserable. 102* fever, the works.

I assumed this was the flu...but lo and behold the kids come home with a notice from school. There is an outbreak of hepatitis A in the school! Apparently, the freaking CDC was there today and closed down the salad bar, etc. And they have a team of nurses coming and are vaccinating all of the kids and staff. Good times.

So of course, now I assume that J has hepatitis A and not the flu. So off he will go to the doc tomorrow to get tested. Hep A and the flu basically present the same way. Hep A is a virus of the liver. J and I cannot get this. We use our livers....a lot. :drinking: ;)

Tomorrow, as I mentioned, Kel is off to the hospital for a battery of tests. This is really nothing new, but she is still so tired from the trip that she just lost it tonight. She just sobbed and said that she doesn't want to go back to the hospital, etc. She is such a tough kid. This is the first time any of this stuff with her illness has gotten to her. She has gone through 5 surgeries like a champ. Never been afraid or anything. But she totally broke down tonight.

Thank God for grandparents. So here I was at home...taking care of a very sick man, trying to manage homework for the older two kids (who are swamped since they missed so much school), and Kel is having a melt down and just needs major TLC. My mom comes up with the brilliant idea of having Kel have a sleep-over at her house. It isn't a school day for Kel and this way she gets totally pampered and lots of one-on-one time. Perfect. My mom came right over and scooped her up and she is there now and so much happier and calm.

What a day, huh? Did I really wake up at Club Med just yesterday???

Anyway, I will report in tomorrow night when we are back from the hospital.
