In Search of my Body...Not The One I ate...#3 "Crowning Goddesses As We Go"

The other thing that I suggest (but I don't have a link for) is buying a padded bike short LINER. This has all of the padding that you want, but is meant to be worn under any regular shorts or pants that you already have. They run about $25-ish but I bet you can find them on sale right now if you look around.

This is the best bet. Didn't even know it existed. I just mad peace with being in public in my workout pants. So, I can still use them. Happy. Thanks.

I just like that the last one is called shebeest.

Just finished bleaching the living begeebus out of a wee cube fridge that my coworker had. Moldy and disgusting, but now it is white, happy, and ready to store many veggies.

Oh, and since I posted these on the other thread, here ya go. Most of you have seen these already.

Here is my before/after (well, before is after about 15 lbs gone). Oh, and FWIW, I am 5'8". Starting weight was 218, "after" weight was about 170, lowest weight 160, in the pics below.

This is my lowest weight, which is about 10 lbs lighter than I am now (so above pic is just about current again):

Ya I definitely need to work my buns... they have certainly gone down but now I want to firm them up... I get a lot of calf and thigh work outs with my Gazelle and I know this because they were sore and stiff last night... but I think some squats or lunges could do me good.... I think to kick it up on fridays in addition to my gazelle i am gonna do the Mousercize workout I have on my ipod... its just a little 7 minute kiddie stretch and workout but maybe it will be just that extra little thing to look forward to on Fridays... Especially since I'm not rushing to to wake up... I have the whole Mousercize cd on my Ipod since I bought it on Itunes... Most songs have the workout instructions within the song... very cute :) Anywho back to the grind :surfweb:

Dang it. I hate lunges. I will have to try it.

Did you see he had work boots on?

Here's a thought. Maybe I could use my ellipitcal machine. Idiot.

And Thanks.

To work your butt on the elliptical, go backwards. Regular lunges will work primarily quads (though hams and glutes will certainly get some work, too). For mostly butt, do the reverse lunges. As Paula said, squats are great also...they will work quads primary and glutes as a secondary.

hey ladies...

I don't think there is any way for me to catch up on this thread. So, what's important that I need to know??

I swear I need a week to recover from vacay, especially one with both sides of the family! i have fallen off the exercise wagon a bit this week and TOM is totally kicking my butt this month. Since DD TOM has been pretty kind to me, but this month is making up for it. Anyhow. I am starting to feel motivated/excited to start my 1/2 training on Monday

So I thought I'd share some pics from vacay.

Picture of the ponies on Ocracoke island. They are sort of wild, they fenced off a large area when the road was built out there in the 50's. We saw really wild horses on the way out to Cape Lookout 2 years ago when we were on the outer banks.

The wind scoured the sand down to black! FYI, walking down the beach with 30+ MPH winds blowing the sand is a great alternative to microdermabrasion!!

Welcome back, Amy! Great pics! Love the beer one (natch ;) ). Cute kiddo!

Do you want to share your training plan for the half? I just finished my first half on Sunday and now I am turning around and getting ready for January. You would think I am all set since I just did one, but no. The reality is that I was not fully prepared for this half. I pushed it. My training schedule was far too aggressive and I didn't have nearly enough of a base since I had only been running for 6 months. So, now I have a base and I should be able to properly train during the next 4 months. This first one was all about finishing. The next one is be for time (well sorta...I am never going to be a speedster, but I have some pace goals that I would like to meet).

Amy welcome back. What do you need to know? Hmm, well we have been talking alot of exercise lately. And emotion.

The pics. Wow. The beach house. Wow.

E - what does natch mean?

Amy, where did you stay on the Outer Banks?

What a week to be there! I heard some of the waves were over 10 feet.

Hey Lyz, come visit me sometime and we will go out there for a weekend. It is only about 3 hours from here. Oh wait, but you hate driving...

Yeah. Can we take a plane?;)

Naturally. As in "of course." or "obviously" ;)

Oh, natch.

Oh my goodness. It is Beeeuuuutiful. I am sitting outside watching Mad play. The weather. It's perfect. PERFECT. Makes my heart sing. And I rarely choose to go outside.

Hey All
I am here... just got home from work I swear it was all babies tonight I had a 1 month old and a two month old and a 30 month old all to pick tonight! I HATE picking kids! I always want to cry while they are screaming their heads off!

AS for weight I think I am doing good! I am back down to what I was before TOM last week!
As for exercise If I could just stay on task and continue it.. I always find excuses not to do any.. To tired..... no one to watch the kids.... I feel stupid doing this(bellydancing dvd)!.... The gym's are all way to far away from me to go to and then come home and get ready for work! Most are located down by my work 20 miles away.(yes Lyz everthing is about 20 miles away... I live in the middle of no where..oh wait canadian border 7 miles away:lmao: )

Ok off to bed I am beat! Night :faint:

Lisa - GREAT JOB on 2.1 lbs! I hope that the rest of it gets worked out for you -

Kat - I'm with you - I'd much rather be a couch potato than work out.

Sarah - You can get through the @)*(#$ at work. Get the Monkey (ha!) off your back and let the bad stuff all slide off. Take it out on your Gazelle! It's now the weekend - enjoy! I have a rule - only obess about work halfway home. After I pass Griffin Road I force myself to think good things about my evening.

Erika, Lyz, Nancy - where can I buy the pads for bike riding? Links, please. After last weekend's 10-miler I was wishing for something!

Erika - need any hurricane tips?

Amy - welcome back! :flower3:

For the record -

(1) I'd rather NOT exercise. Book, TV, sewing, computer - heck, I'd rather do work! I have not got to the good endorphins...

(2) When I do, I DO want to look halfway decent. I've invested in a few exercise skirts and tank tops.

(3) And I'd rather do it alone, I hate goofing up, or being watched. My blotchy red face is no treat to look at. Which is tough 'cause I really want to set a good example for Kaitlyn. She would rather do anything than exercise.

(4) Not a lipgloss girl - can never remember to reapply!

And, Week 1, Day 3 C25K, completed. Harder than the rest - I got out an hour later (yay sleeping in!) and humidity was higher.

I am gonna look today. Going to sports stores. I'll let you know. Watch me have to ask some handsome young teenager where to find padded undies.:scared:

Deb - good job on day 3. You and EriKa like a "schedule". I like to fly flexible.

Erika - need any hurricane tips?

Yes EriKa, how goes the stuckinthehouseonsaturdaystorm?

It's Saturday. And I put my time in on the dreadmill. 30 minutes. No jogging. I felt whipped. Could be cause I slept until 9:45. I also did my weight lifting/strength training. I can't call it one or the other. It's a hot mess of both.

Steph - at least you kicked that tom weight in the keister.

Kat - are you kicking butt on the ice? Do you have a concussion yet? Can't wait to hear.

You know I bet that hockey gets alot of agression out too, kinda like E's throwdown with the bag.

So today starts the MOVING day! I asked currant owners because I don't officially own the house until Wednesday, October 1, 2008, at 10:30, if I could start moving some stuff in. So today we have Nate and my nephew Lance helping us move the BIG stuff. I have two wall units for the living room dining room and then I have one for my room. These used to be my grandmothers from her condo. Not my stuff but I have emotional ties to the stuff ya know. So all these wall units are now in my garage until after lunch I will feed the boys and put them back to work. My job is cleaning off the shelves and dusting ...God do I hate dust and I hate dusting even more! So there for there is a lot of dust everywhere! The plan was to leave all the clothes in the draws and just move them like that but ummmm it didn't happen that was so now I have to figure a way to move all the CLOTHES which we have a ton of! I have been cleaning out closets and draws since May and I swear there is still a Ton of stuff that we don't use or wear or want. I am trying to make the tough decision on what furniture goes and whats going to the dump. I have a great couch from Create & Barrel it's a pull out and the only thing that is wrong is the pull out bed is broken, springs are all busted. But the couch is in great condition. Steph wants to dump it and I want it. But to put where??? That I do not know!!
Ok off to serve the boys Lunch and get dressed and start moving to my new HOME!!!!

Deb

Hehe! I took it out on some Chipotle and 80s B action movies with my mom... Last night we watched King Soloman's Mine, Allan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold, and Firewalker... I grew up loving those movies... weight stayed the same so chipotle did its job.... I don't think i ever gain when I eat chipotle... most times in fact i lose weight... watched Demolition Man last night with DH (who doesn't have to work today :dance3: ), that movie is AWFUL!!! lol... it was sooooo cheesy... Anywho I'm off to go research nutritional info for Red Robin since DH wants to go for dinner :sad2: *grumbles* I swear weekends are a killer... LOL

EDIT: Went to the bathroom and weighed after and I lost a lb!!! LOL... I'm not sure which weight to record... LOL... even so now I don't want to eat Red Robin... LOL...

I think I may have found the TRUE reason behind my binging, but I'm afraid to say out loud what it is.

May take a doctor visit to confirm. I'll let y'all know.:scared:
