All the Deluxe resorts offer room service. The Polynesian's is great. Their cheeseburger is really good. You can order the famous Tonga Toast, too. We've also enjoyed GF room service and so far have had mixed experience with BC/BCV.
The moderates also offer in room dining past four pm (pizza, chicken, sandwiches) and the All-Stars offer pizza delivery. The deluxe resorts definetly have the most in-room dining options though.
Originally posted by familyoffiveAZ I saw on Deb's site that the Polynesian offers in-room dining. Is this the only resort which offers such, and how is the food? TIA!
The Poly has great in room dining! We've had it the last two trips we've been. We've also had in room dining at the WL so I think all deluxes have an extensive menu whereas the mods have a limited menu. At the Poly we had BBQ chicken quesidillos and grilled chicken salad. Pricey though! We paid $36 for just those two dishes but well worth every cent as it was delicious and very convenient.
In that case, I think I'm sold on the Polynesian. Although I don't like the pictures of the rooms, the outdoor surroundings, the pool, the transportation convenience, and now the awesome food reviews have me sold. Oh, and especially the drinks. After spending the last 3 out of 4 years in a constant state of pregnancy, I'm looking forward to a nice tropical drink!
The room service at the GF was great, but I'll tell you what ticked me off: while everyone KNOWS that room service is pricey, I found out the hard way that a can of Diet Coke was $3.50 from room service ( I had no idea that it would be a can of soda; I thought it might be a larger serving!), when I could have spent only $2 had I taken a can from the minibar!

And you could have bought a can of coke besides the ice machine for $1. At the Poly there was a soda machine right next to the ice machines and surprisingly Cokes were only a buck!
How did I miss that? The funny thing is that I went back and forth with this "big " decision as to whether or not to order this Diet Coke or not. When I saw the price I thought to myself "it can't be a can; anyone would be a fool to pay that much when I have it right here in my minibar." Oh, well...
