In Memory Of Sprout From The Very Kind Vets

A beautiful card arrived in the post yesterday from the vets surgery who have treated sprout over the past months. I would like to share this with you, although it set me off bawling again.

If it should be that i grow weak,
and pain should keep me from my sleep,
then you must do what must be done,
for this last battle can`t be won.

You will be sad, I understand,
don`t let your grief then stay your hand,
for this day more than all the rest,
your love for me must stand the test.

We`ve had so many happy years,
what is to come can hold no fears,
you`d not want me to suffer so,
the time has come please let me go.

Take me to where my needs they`ll tend,
and please stay with me to the end,
hold me firm and speak to me,
until my eyes no longer see.

Please do not grieve it must be you,
who had this painful thing to do,
we`ve been so close, we two these years,
don`t let your heart hold back the tears.


Thanks to all you very kind friends for your condolences and to the lovely person who pm`d me the words to rainbow bridge.

I know it will get easier as time passes but for now it is very raw and i am hurting. Thank you all.

Oh you poor thing .... I haven't had time to look at the boards lately and I've just seen that you have lost Sprout. I am so, so sorry. What an awful time of year for it to happen too - but then anytime would have been painful. We have had to make the decision for 3 cats and a dog over the years, all of them incredibly special animals. I feel for you.
