In general, what do you eat for breakfast most days?

Breakfast is such a difficult thing for me. Years ago I developed an allergy to eggs. That ruled out a lot of the items that I liked. Then I became hypoglycemic and I couldn't just eat cereal for breakfast. If I did my sugar would crash within about 2 hours. I'm not a snacker. I had to have protein. I'm too lazy to get up early to make a good breakfast and I just don't want to eat that early.

Then last month I found out that I have Celiac Disease. Now I can't have gluten. Well that rules out the rest of the breakfast world for me. There are a few cereals I can have and some gluten-free frozen waffles are sold close to us. But I really don't want to eat breakfast on a work day. I never have liked doing that. I only want to eat it on the weekends.

My gastro wants me to eat it every day though. I had been eating peanut butter crackers for breakfast until the Celiac diagnosis. Now I haven't found a suitable substitute. **sigh**

There are several fruits that I'm allergic to as well so several of those are ruled out. Only certain brands of oatmeal are safe. I haven't found any at my stores yet that are safe.

So Monday - Friday I don't eat breakfast. Saturday & Sunday I either eat Rice Chex or Van's Frozen Waffles.

Nothing usually in the weekends, I'd say 3 out of 5 weekdays, a bowl of oatmeal, a cup of tea and a small(like 2oz) glass of milk.
Not when I first wake up though, have to get up, get the kids off to school, come back, do things for an hour or so and then eat. I never wake up hungry.

I definetely need variety so everyday is usually different...

My favorites are:

Cinnamon/Sugar toast
english muffin 1/2 peanut butter 1/2 orange marmalade
cereal - special k w/red berries, adult cereals w/nuts added, and Count Chochula or Lucky Charms
Pop Tarts about once a month
Over easy eggs (once a month I am allergic but deal with it)
Frozen pancakes w/light butter, no syrup
Oatmeal with fruit and nuts
Weekend pancakes w/hot apples (no syrup)
bagels, very thin layer of cream cheese

And I rotate between coffee, hot tea, and water.

It varies, but I try to get protein at breakfast. Sometimes it's a couple of hard boiled eggs or a peanut butter sandwich or a sardine sandwich. I also usually have a glass of juice and coffee.

It is hard to make me cringe when it comes to food, but you just did. :rotfl:

I usually stick with ceral or toast with peanut butter. I don't really care for eggs and would rather have pancakes or french toast in the evenings for dinner.

During the week a grilled cheese, chicken, or turkey. I'm a total left over for breakfast eater. My mornings are much more pleasant if I have protein in my system. I just don't have the patience to scramble eggs during the week.

And coffee, I can't function without it. But there are days that I go straight for the Diet Mountain Dew.

Today I had doritos... now the only reason I went for them was because they were still sitting out from when I made the kids their lunches to take to school.. ;) I'm a leftover kind of person too, pizza, chicken, whatever is easy to make.. I'm lazy in the mornings.
