I just wanted to tell you why.....:o

Remember that our advertising guy.... you know, arms flailing, cheeks flushed, papers flying, incomplete sentences, darting from place to place, pacing the floor and slamming cups of coffees??? Yeah?? Well he makes me crazy.... he makes me do things I don't normally do..... you know, things like yelling SHUTUP and listen to me!! Yep! That's right, I went in to explain a situation to him.... I got like 2.215 words out, and the arms started going, the spit was flying, you could see the red rise..... he was babbling about something so unrelated..... I stood there in frozen shock for a second or two, and then I shook it off and started again..... gently putting my hand in the air to calm him (and ward off the spit) as I carefully and soothingly started to once again shed some light on the current misunderstanding....... I think I actually managed 2.782 words this time... and just when the wind from the afore mentioned arm disorder readjusted my curls, I blew. I yelled "just shutup and listen to what I'm trying to tell you!!!" And by golly, he did. Imagine that!!! I explained.... he listened, and then somehow everything I said just vanished..... he started his panic.... I gave up (something I don't do easily). I mumbled something about..... "If you would just listen for once" and left. Two minutes later, he went in my bosses office and closed the door......     I may be standing in the corner all day tomorrow!!! YIKES!! It was nice knowing you all! Can someone direct me to the time-out chair please?

Heidi I don't think your the one that needs the time out chair. Does he do this with you or everyone? If he does this with everyone I don't see the boss saying anything to you. If anything he just might make you eat a tomato.;)

Seriously I wouldn't worry too much. This guy sounds like he has a few screws loose.

Oh gosh... {{hugs, hugs, hugs}} and pixie dust!

Maybe he just had to talk to the boss anyway and it was just the timing that made it look bad. Or maybe he realized that he talks too much and was asking for a roll of duct tape for his mouth. Or maybe I'm exaggerating just a little (but maybe not, who knows, LOL ;) )... but my point is to try not to get yourself too worked up tonight, there's nothing you can do right now anyway but worry and that won't get you anywhere. (Easier said than done, I know!)

Thinking of you, Fishbone! Everyone has days where they say things they shouldn't have. Hopefully there won't be any problem, but even if there is, I'm sure a simple explanation and an appology would clear things up. (Even if he doesn't deserve the appology :p ;) )

{{{hugs}}}

I agree. The boss has likely heard his ranting and knows very well how he behaves. I wouldn't worry yet but do let us know, OK?

Do you need me to come out there???? I will you know. ;)

Just let me at him, as I am super familiar with his species.

Hang in there girlie, you will be OK. I know it's weird and a bit scary.

Hey, email or PM me tomorrow and let me know how it's going.

:D :D :D <--------- That's what you need to do

he's a lune!!!!!!!!!!!!! don't sweat it. we have one of those where i work too. i think every work place has atleast one. except mine thinks she own the company. NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Next time tell him he doesn't want me to have to come down there ;)

I'm sorry to LOL but you wrote this in such an amusing fashion I couldn't help myself.

Any hope that this guy will get transferred or something?

What a nut, maybe he's on crack or something! I have a coworker that runs to the boss for everything and exaggerates so bad. She has run off plenty of good coworkers but boohoo she's always the victim. She is friends with the boss so whatever she says is it! I almost quit because of her and I have been there 25 yrs. It's like grade school. I finally got the nerve up to tell my boss how I really feel and boy did I let her have it. She's a good boss but a sometimes crazy hyper cuban. I told her how I really felt about her friend. This coworker picks on one person at a time so I'm not "it" right now, unfortunately the new girl is it. My boss can't figure out why everyone keeps leaving?
My solution for keeping her off my rear: I bring her veggies from my garden and I nicely say here these are for you but I would like to say take this cucumber and ................................!!
Her and another coworker exchanged ugly words yesterday and the week before it was another coworker. The coworker told her she was tired of her listening to all her phone calls and running to the boss ( some of the calls were very personal).
Good luck to you, I know what you're going thru!!

Considering I am familiar with the situation (but not the whole conversation, come tell me please!) I can promise you that you still have a job!

The spit flying, over reacting lunatic, is just that - a lunatic!!!

Our boss is very familiar with him and his behavior and will trust anything you say over psycho boy's!

I feel your pain my dear - usually on a daily basis! :D

Tamie

Tamie just informed me that Ted (that's our boss) is in with the CEO and some of the other black leather chair dwellers!!!  Maybe they're plotting my demise!! HELP!!!!!

Or to quote Tamie, maybe they are plotting

psycho boy's!
lol lol lol hee hee hee

black leather chair dwellers

Do we work for the same company??? All the 3rd floor conference rooms have the black leather chairs (executive-land) our conference rooms, have regular office chairs.

guess who just figured out how to use the Quote feature???? :D

That happened to me when I worked at the University. I told one of the Professors to SHUT UP -- because he kept interrupting me. The look on his face was priceless (how dare a lowly support staff person tell me to shut up and I can't believe she really just said that). I thought for sure I was going to get fired, but the next AM I told my boss and he just shrugged and laughed. He never interrupted me again.

Sounds like he's definately sick... I know my co-worker's girlfriend is suffering a nervous breakdown and is in the hospital right now. The things you described just remind me off her.. the ranting and the screaming and the irratonal behaviour. Scary. Hope things turn out alright for you.
