In and Out in a Day

Hi, everyone! I'm here and reading along... just not posting as much.

Tinkerbell is doing fine. However, she's pushing her boundaries a bit. She came to us housebroken, but is pooping in my house! I think she's trying to see her limits. Well, hopefully, now she knows she can't do that and still have a happy "mama."

Jacob has a band concert tonight. He's really excited, as this is his first concert where he's playing both the trumpet and the French horn. He'll alternate songs. He's the only one doing this, so he is excited! I got to sit in a counseling session with him and figure out his plans for next year. He's set some pretty impressive goals!

Katie is thick in the middle of Les Mis rehearsals! She is playing violin in the pit orchestra, and it sounds really good. Of course, rehearsals are long and hard! I drop her off at 4:30 and she drags into the house around 11:30 p.m. And then, she's got homework to do! In a normal musical she would have time between songs to work on homework, but the orchestra is playing 100% of the time with Les Mis! Sigh! At least her grades are holding steady! She's tired and grumpy, but the grades are holding steady! She's also preparing her audition for Theater productions class and Musical Theater class for next year. Those auditions are next week. Cross your fingers for her!

I've had Katie and the twins at the doctor several times in the last couple of weeks. All 3 are coughing up a storm. Katie and Leslie have been put on inhalers, and those seem to be helping. Katie had to have a chest x ray, and it did show some junk in her lungs, but not to the point of pneumonia, yet. While we were at the doctor, he suggested taking some blood from me, as it's been a while since we checked my levels. Well, the report came back, and there are some really low numbers. He's calling in an appointment for me with the Hematologist. Keep your fingers crossed that there's nothing seriously wrong. I'm a bit worried!

Ellen - I check in from time to time. Sometimes, I just don't have anything to report so I don't know if I should just say hello and go or just lurk on by. :confused3

Sounds like you're nearly at the end of your 'hump'. I think you've been very gracious about the whole thing and I hope you get a nice long holiday.

Glynis - I hope that you get the results back from the blood test soon and there is nothing wrong. Keep us informed. And I'll be thinking and praying for you.

I'm hoping to get back to a 3-day working week after Easter. It's crazy at work but I think this little spell of full time work is paying off. I have almost all my project elements in place and if I have them in play, work will just be a monitoring and the occassional push from me. We'll see how next week goes.

Keep well everyone.

Ellen - Hopefully things will settle down for you at work soon.

Glynis - I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Katie and her audition and will also be praying nothing is seriously wrong with her. I can imagine how much you are worried.

PIO - Glad to hear you have your work project pulled together and hopefully can get back to a three day week.

Things at work are deteriorating fast. It's one thing to accept we will be merging with another credit union but they are using me as the scapegoat because God forbid we can't blame the economy or our regulators. I am tired of fighting it and quite frankly tired of defending myself. I'm putting it all in the hands of my Lord.

WFD - Grilled steaks, baked potatoes and a salad.

Wow! You have your hands full, I think. I wanted to just say that Tink is probably just stressed a bit. give her time and she will relax and get back to her housebroken self.

I have been following the sick kids and I cannot imagine! It is happening with the girls here and Welby was at the end of her rope last week, Nola was home from school all week and that is unusual. Kady had a bug.............it goes on and on. Spring can't get here soon enough, I think the kids all need a week out of school, the germs just keep getting passed back and forth. There is a light at the end of the tunnel!
I am keeping your talented kids in my thoughts!

.

Stop in! I am guilty of checking in but not taking time to post but now that Buddy is back to work I hope to be more organized. This has been the longest Winter in Lay off history! I have not been able to get anything accomplished, in school or home :guilty: but hopefully we are back to normal!

Best place for stress is in His hands. :grouphug: Kat- you can't change whatever is happening so sometimes it is best to let it all go and just do what you can to maintain your own sanity. You are in my heart and prayers through this, dear friend.

Will be a quiet weekend here for me. Really need to get some cleaning done around the house. Next weekend will be busy as my DN is coming to stay while her big sis has a 3 day swim meet. Going to plan lots of cooking and other activities to do with her.

Now, Marilyn-------no cleaning on your slow weekend!

I get paid hourly and I am afraid if they salary me I would be working 60hours per week. But I really can and do come and go as I please, so it all works out.

The only time salary is a good idea is if you are not going to be putting in a lot of extra hours and you put in LOTS of extra! I am hoping you get your vacation soon!

Where is everybody? Oh well, I will keep talking to myself. :rotfl2:
G

I am back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry that you have had to carry the conversation but I sure do appreciate it. My poor old mind has been fried lately. We are on Spring break and I must say that I have had big plans but did none of them ;) Buddy finally told me to stop trying and just do nothing, and I decided to listen to him for a change :rotfl: I do pick and choose, don't I?;) Anyway, I am going to Marisa's for a while and hten coming back home to make dinner and maybe pick up a bit.

See you all later!

Good morning,

I just have to say that you all are the greatest bunch of ladies. I feel so blessed to be able to call you all friends. You all are the best part of my day!! I guess that is why I will NOT let this thread die. ;)

Glynis~ Sweetie, I am holding you oh so very close while you wait for the test results to come in. I know you are worried but thank God that you have a Dr. that is tuned in to you and knew you weren't right. Nip it in the bud before it gets any worse. We can't have you not feeling good. Prayers are with you my friend. Please let us know.

PIO ~ So glad that things are coming together on the projects. Now step back and let your work do it's thing. You amaze me!! :thumbsup2

Kat ~ I am so sorry you are having to go through this on top of everything going on. But I love your attitude. God's hands are a good place to be. Change what you can, accept what you can't and let him handle the rest. That is all you can do. And at night when you leave - hold your head up high knowing you have done the best you can. That is all you can do sweetie.

Nan ~ Enjoy your Spring Break - Buddy is right. You have been running yourself ragged, enjoy this break. Enjoy the peace and quiet of your house with no Buddy. I always look forward to the rare moment I have the house all to myself. Enjoy!!

It is suppose to get to almost 70 today - we shall see. Even warmer tomorrow, but then on Saturday, Sunday and Monday we are to see some rain (YEA) with possible snow (YUCK). Oh such is the life on the Plains.

WFDT ~ Breakfast for dinner. Omelets, bacon and rye toast. I can't wait!

Make it a great day!!

Kathy, I am so sorry  Is looking for another position an option? I know you have worked there for a long time, but you have to put your health first, and the stress just sounds overwhelming.

Glynis, wow you are busy! I love Les Mis.

Nancy, enjoy your break!

Hi to everyone else too! I have been gulty about not posting regularly as well. There's just nothing exciting going on in my life to report on lately. Nothing bad, just the same old same old. Go to work, come home, cook, eat, sleep, repeat ;)

Ladies, today is Liam's 14th birthday! I am heading over to his house after work to bring him some cupcakes.

WFD: not sure, something easy since I will be getting home later than normal and John's out at a business dinner anyway.

Becky- How about cupcakes for dinner :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes Just kidding, maybe..... but please wish Mr Liam a very Happy birthday! He is getting older much too fast!

Glynis- try not to worry too much, the Dr is on top of everything and you have a prayer circle here for you!

Dan and Erica are coming for dinner tonight. I don't cook much lately so when I do I like to have teh kids here. Pot roast, carrots and potatoes, salad and green beans. Flakey rolls too!

/
St Patrick's Day is Sunday so I am having the crew over. New England boiled dinner, cucumber and onion salad, and Irish soda bread. Something green for desert. If anyone wants the recipe for the soda bread I'll post it, it is delicious!

Hello ladies! Been busy here and about to get busier. This weekend we will have my youngest DN while her sis has a 3 day swim meet. I have to plan lots of stuff for her to do to make up for not being able to stay with the rest of the family at the hotel. My sis is helping at the meet and it's just too much to have to try and keep track of DN and everything else.

Glynis and Kat- :grouphug:

Nancy- I didn't get much done. The only thing I managed to do this weekend was change the sheets on my bed, flip the mattress and clean the night stand. It was almost completely covered with papers, hair stuff, medicine type stuff, books and other things. :scared:

Well I'll see you all later, have to head down the road.

Becky - Finding another job isn't really an option right now. I can't abandon my co-worker. Maybe after the merger is complete it will be a possibility. They really broke my spirit yesterday, attacking my integrity. It was all I could do not to get up and walk out for good.:sad1:

I can't believe Liam is 14!!! I sure do miss Laura.

Glynis - I'm so sorry, I misread. I thought Katie had the blood work done. I'm keeping you and all of the kids in my prayers.

Nan - I planned on doing corned beef & cabbage on Sunday but neither Johnny or I really "love it" and he's been asking for fried chicken lately so that's what I'll be cooking.:upsidedow

Not cooking tonight, we may go out for Chinese.

Hi all!

I haven't been here in eons but got a DIS app for my phone. So maybe I can pop in more like FB. Mostly I've been consumed by every day chaos.

Kat you have a great outlook of turning it all over to Him. Just wish you didn't have to deal with it.

Glynis can't wait to see Tinkerbell. My fur ball needs therapy I swear...he won't stop licking himself...

Ellen thinking of your work too. Hang in there.

You all have been in my thoughts. I just couldn't get here.

WFD: Cajun sautéed shrimp, pasta, salad, ?

Julie

That is just not okay, Kat. I wish there was something I could do, i am just so MAD for you right now! Please let me know if there is anything I can do, i feel so helpless

Well HI back at you Julie! I missed you!

Morning Ladies,

Kat ~ I am so angry hearing about how you are being treated at work. That is awful. I wouldn't blame you - but I do understand - if you walked out. Get your resume out there, there is someone better that can appreciate you. Hang in there it will get better. Call if you want to scream!!

Julie ~ Wow girlie it is good to see you. Pop in when you can. You have been missed.

Becky ~ I also can't believe Liam is 14 - where in the heck did those years go. I really miss Laura around here, please tell her hi.

Nan ~ You talk so much about your cucumber and onion salad. I would love to have your recipe. Those are 2 of my favorite things. Your St. Pattys dinners sounds wonderful.

Merle ~ Yes, your quiet time is about over. Summer is so busy for you. You are a GREAT Aunt.

I really hate to ask again but I need your powerful prayers. Plus I know you all will completely understand. We were at Stephanie and Marty's over the weekend and noticed Addie (their 3 year old Great Dane and Cooper's (my boxer) best friend) was limping on her front paw. Stephanie took her in yesterday and they are 80% sure that it is bone cancer. They will biopsy it soon and has said it might not be. It might just be inflamation. I don't know why they tell you things like that because you know we are all thinking the worst. Addie is the BEST dog and is so good with Lilly. We are all just devastated. If it is cancer they giver her about 2-3 months. My heart is just breaking as is theirs. Please if you will send some prayers for our Addie. She doesn't act any different at all, Stephanie said she was in the back yard chasing a squirrel last night. Bless her heart she has no idea!! Please pray for her. Thanks!!

WFDT ~ Lazagna, green salad and garlic bread sticks.

Make it a great day!!

Ellen- Poor Addie! I don't know what to say but that your sweet puppy in in my prayers. I don't understand why they say that either, you cannot get that image of cancer out of your mind. Please try not to think the worst :grouphug::grouphug:

My salad is so easy. I thinly slice sweet onions and cucumbers. Add some sort of dressing, either Italian or I make my own. I generally use garlic, salt and pepper, a pinch of sugar, rice wine vinegar or cider vinegar and olive oil. You know I use whatever I have in the house, but I do try to let it marinate a few hours.

Kat- I agree with Ellen- start thinking about moving on. Easier said than done but I believe in being prepared.

Good morning, everyone!

Kat - I'm so angry for you!!! You should NOT be treated like that! I'll pray that things either calm down, or work out so you can get out!

Julie - Good to "see" you!

Nancy - Your St. Patty's dinner sounded similar to mine! We had the corned beef and cabbage with soda bread for dinner. Birthday cake for dessert. Alan celebrated his birthday on Sunday, since he was at work and in school all day yesterday!

Ellen - Prayers for the furbaby! What a sad thing!

Things here are so busy (what else is new, right?). Katie's high school production of Les Mis, is almost halfway through their run. It's going so well! The kids are so talented, and the shows are sold out each night! They paid $6200.00 for the royalties, and made that up almost twice over just in ticket presales! Pretty amazing! The show was adjudicated by the Utah High School Musical Theater Association, and was nominated for Best Production, Best Director, Best Set Design, Best Costume Design, Best Lighting Design, Best Pit Orchestra (that's where Katie is), Best Ensemble, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress! It's been quite a journey for these kids!

Jacob auditioned for Symphonic Band for next school year, and made it on his French horn. He's really excited as most 7th graders are required to do Intermediate band first. Now, he's gearing up for auditions for Jazz Band on his trumpet.

Katie will audition for the Productions/Musical Theater class tomorrow, and she feels ready. However, we'd both appreciate your good thoughts and any pixie dust you could throw our way!!!

No idea what's for dinner! Something fast, as I have to be at the show for most of the night!

Ellen- I'm so sorry you've got another sickie. You just can't catch a break, but you already know that. My pup was sick a couple of weeks ago, I don't think he ever wants to see pedialyte again! I cleaned up so much vomit I ended up getting a new area rug. I have decided this is my last dog, as much as I love him I just don't want to deal with the stress of sick pets.

Nancy- I make a similar cucumber salad (so did my grandmother and my mother does too) but I add crushed red pepper. We have it in the summer a couple of times a week.

Glynis- congratulations to the kiddos!

Well we woke up to more snow! I keep reminding myself its good for the water table. They said less that an inch but we have five or six already. It's just on that rain/snow line so it's really gross. That said I have the woodstove going and am about to start a batch of white bean chicken chili for dinner, perfect for today.

Snow here too! Crunchy snow. It was sleeting on top of it so it has been messy in our neck of the woods. It is warming up though so I am off to school!

Kat - So sorry about your job situation. I hope that you're keeping it together there. I sympathize.

Nancy - I'd love the recipe for the soda bread. Sounds lovely!

Marilyn - Hope the swim meet went well.

Julie - Hello!

Ellen - Prayers for Addie. Hope things are going well.

Glynis - Sounds like things are going well with Les Miz for Katie and the Band for Jacob. Hope Katie made it through the Production/Theatre class.

Well....Easter is not too far away now. I committed to working 5 days a week until Easter and then head back to 3 days a week. I am feeling a lot more comfortable about the workload as I have a lot of my pieces in play now. We'll just have to wait and see.

Thanks so very much for the prayers and good thoughts for Addie. No news yet, but I will let you know, when I know. Please keep praying though, I KNOW it helps!!

Nan ~ Thanks for the salad. I think I can do that. ;) I sure thought of you all day yesterday with the pounding of snow you are getting. Bless your heart. How is Buddy coping?

Glynis ~ Way to go Katie :thumbsup2. Les Mis is one of my favorites.
I am over the moon for Jacob :thumbsup2 That is wonderful
Have you heard anything from the Doctor about your blood tests?

Robin ~ When I saw on the news yesterday that you were to be dumped on again, I sure thought about you. Happy first day of Spring :rotfl2:

PIO ~ Good deal about the job. I always feel better when I have a plan. Please don't tire yourself out though.

Kat ~ holding you very close my friend. :wave2:

Pastor Tess is coming in this morning. I can't wait to see her. I have tons of questions but I don't want to scare her so I will let her set the pace. She has a dentist appt. and will stop in for a bit after.

WFDT ~ Tonight is our last Lenten Dinner of Lent. I always look forward to these. They are so much fun. Tonight we are having a potluck so lots of great food. These little ladies really know how to do a potluck proud.

Make it a great day!!

Marilyn - Hope the swim meet went well.

It went well. She swam in a total of 8 events and made it the finals of 5 of the 6 events that had finals. Two were relays that don't have finals and the one final she didn't make it into she was an alternate.

In the one relay she actually broke her swim leagues record in that stroke but because she swam second it doesn't count. :(

Going to get busy, busy here the next couple of weeks. It's time to get ready for the next school year.
