In and Out in a Day

Glynis, Bob and I dated for a month before we were engaged. We didn't marry for a year and a half but we've been married for 29 years now. Doesn't mean they will do as well but who knows. I'm sure your friends were grateful for the support you gave.

Morning girls,

Lauri ~ good to see you my friend

Merle~ December 17th was a good day!!
You are so busy - just remember to stop once in awhile during this time and remember the reason for the season. :goodvibes

I am so excited and a bit nervous for tonight. The girls and I are getting tattoos. Let me explain - For my Birthday this year I made mention to the girls that I would like the 3 of us to get a tatto. I have always wanted one - a little one, somewhere. Well we have decided on a heart (Elizabeth has designed it) and we are putting them on the inside of our left wrists. I just love the idea of me and my girls all having the same one and in the same place. This is something that we will have for each other forever. Silly maybe, but we are really looking forward to it.

Liam will turn 1 on Tuesday (December 4th) so we are having his birthday party on Sunday. Matthew is coming home tomorrow night. We are so excited. Also Doug has his Christmas Party tomorrow night. When is was scheduled we had no idea that we would be playing for the BIG 10 Championship so they are moving it back to 5:00. So we all can be home for the kickoff at 7:15 - Yes here in Nebraska we take our football very serioulsy.

WFDT ~ I have no idea. We will all go out after our Tattoos.

Make it a great day and have a good weekend.

Oh, I'm hopeful that their marriage will last. He seems like a nice young man. There are just so many other factors involved. Laura (the bride) has had emotional and developmental problems all her life, and does impulsive things, expecting her parents to pick up the pieces for her. The groom is awfully immature for a 21 year old, and even though Alan's friend got him a job, he has been very belligerent and disrespectful about it. Of course, he got fired, and now neither bride nor groom has a job, and they don't have a place to live, currently, either.

I'm praying for them, but it's tough to see what they are going to have to go through. Hopefully, they are strong enough to make it.

Hi everyone. Finally finding some clear space to catch up with the Dis. Just seems like things are so busy right now that I barely even have time to say hello to my family!

Glynis - Happy belated birthday to Timmy for turning 4. That's a great age to enjoy. How did the wedding go? Hope the marriage is a happy lasting one.

Robin - Hope your computer virus has gone away.

Ellen - 35 years is a long time. Congratulations. I got engaged at 19 and got married at 21. Seems like a few of us were child....cradle.....brides. :goodvibes
Congratulations to Stephanie and Marty.

Kat - Hope the soup got eaten! Sounds like your weather is as changeable as ours. We had a day that hit 100 F this week. It's now back in the 60's, and they are predicting snow (in the mountains) and hail next week.

Marilyn - Your birthday this month? Happy Birthday! You're getting a tattoo? WOW! I'm super impressed. Will you post pictures?

Lauri - Nice to see you!

Hope you're all well!

Ellen, my 50th birthday present from my daughter was a tattoo. We both got butterflies, mine in on my right back shoulder and hers is behind her ear. This was her third one and after she got her first one I had started talking about it. That was six years ago so I finally got it done!

Glynis yes that is a lot to overcome. I guess time will tell.

Hi Sharon! How's things on your side of the world?

Becky, congrats to Caili for her role of Clara. I can't wait to see pics.

I know I've been away from here but I recently won an iPad and I discovered this neat app for the dis boards so I might actually get to spend more time here.

BTW. Another December birthday here. I'm on the 14th. Seems to be a popular month!

Happy birthday Lauri!

And WOW! You won an iPad??? That is so...my dream....right now. I'm so envious.

Things on my side of the world are pretty topsy turvy. :rotfl:
Weather is just crazy...as if life.

But I'm heading out to see Milos Karadaglic tonight. He's a classical guitarist that has taken the classical world by storm. For a young man, he's the only classical guitarist to have a solo guitar recital at the Royal Albert Hall..ever!

And better still; he was doing an in-store signing promotion at a local record shops in town last night. I turned up to get a couple of CDs signed and found that he was also doing 5 - 10 minutes worth of playing in-store. Naturally I had my camera handy.

After last night, I'm so looking forward to tonight's performance. I won't be able to take my camera tonight but given what I captured yesterday, it doesn't worry me one bit. ::yes::

Robin – I can’t wait to see the pics!!

Ellen – I googled degree sign and I think it was something like Alt0176?? I want to see the tattoo! WE take our football seriously here too, so I get it!

Marilyn – Your schedule makes me tired just reading it.

Lauri – How did you win the ipad???

Not cooking tonight, I have a migraine. We have plenty of leftovers so all is good.

Good morning ladies!

Glynis, it is good that you went to the wedding. I hope the couple makes it.

Lauri, congrats on winning an ipad! I love mine.

I am tired today! Had a busy weekend decorating the house for Christmas, and I did a ton of cooking so that I don't have to start from scratch making dinners this week. We are having fish chowder and popovers tonight.

Hi everyone.

Tuesday night and it was baked spuds for dinner tonight. We're on the countdown to school breakup and Christmas. It is our summer hols here and DS finishes school on Friday. He doesn't go back again until the very end of January. I have high hopes that he and I won't kill each other much this holiday....and that we manage to do some fun things together. DH will be working; so I'm planning on going to the zoo and museums with DS on the days that I don't work.

Keep well all.

Quick In here, while the kids are getting ready for school.

Things are good! We took Timmy to see Santa last night, and it was darling! Alan got some footage on his phone, so I'll see if I can get him to upload it to FB, then I can share it with y'all! He was so excited all day long about seeing Santa! This is the first year that he's really understood the concept, and it's all he can talk about. I was worried that he would be nervous and shy, but he marched right up to Santa, climbed on his lap and declared what he wanted... of course, none of it is what I have currently purchased for him, so he may get a few add ons!

Tonight is Alan's company Christmas party. This is the first year in 4 that spouses have been invited, so I get to go have a fancy dinner! Hooray!!! I'm making a pot of chili for the kids, so I don't worry about them once I leave. Alan is going to pick me up after his class, and we're going to spend most of the afternoon/evening together! It's been so long since we've done that, I'm really excited!!!

Made my first batch of Christmas cookies yesterday and they were a big hit! White chocolate cherry shortbread rounds! Yummo! Not too sweet, but a really pretty color! Most of the kids liked them, too. They made a bunch, so we sent a lot to neighbors houses!

Becky - I love seeing your food pics on facebook but I have to say the pic of Caili decorating the tree was simply stunning.:goodvibes

PIO - I had to chuckle when you said you hope you and DS don't kill each other. I remember saying that quite often myself.:rotfl:

Glynis - I can't wait to see the video of Timmy with Santa! Enjoy your night tonight!

WFD - Chicken Piccata, pasta and oven roasted green beans.

Quick in..............

Well Ladies, I am now the proud owner of a neat tatto. We had so much fun but I will say this............it hurt like he**. I truly thought I was going to have to have him stop. But I soldiered through. They did all 3 of us at the same time. I think they did that so I wouldn't chicken out. :lmao: But this is something I wanted to do and they all turned out really good. They are all alike, in the same spot, on the left wrist, and the same size but all just a bit different. If you know what I mean - 3 different artists with each a different style. We think they turned out just the way we wanted them. They boys loved them. We put before and after pictures on FB.

Today is Liam's 1st birthday. I can't believe he is one already. WOW, where did this year go? We had a big family party on Sunday. Elizabeth had a little 8" cake for him to get into and he did - BIG time. He had it everywhrere until he put his fingers in his mouth. His little face was priceless, then all he wanted to do was eat it. So cute!!

I got most of my Christmas shopping done on Saturday. I need to wrap it all, get my cards out and my baking done. Doug's surgery on his knee is next Tuesday and I will be home with him for a week so I am planning on getting a lot of it finished then.

WFDT ~ French Dip sandwiches on Cabittia bread, 3 bean salad and potato salad.

Make it a great day everyone!!

Kat - I won the IPad at a training conference I went to for work. It was a drawing and I thrilled to say the least.

Ellen I'm going to check out the pictures. My grandson turned one in October. It really does go by quickly and they change so much.

Becky, I agree with Kat that the pic of Cailli is stunning. Your food pics really could be in a magazine though.

Glynis, enjoy your evening.

Pio how old is your son? That's a pretty extended amount of time and I would probably feel the same way.

Kathy- I like the chew also, it's the only good thing on during the day. I just made polenta the other day, I made a recipe from California grill with polenta and pork tenderloin. It was very good.

Ellen-glad you're happy with the tattoo, I'm sure the wrist is one of those extra sensitive spots to get one. Happy birthday to Liam, boy that year went fast!

I just stopped in to say Hi and will BBL. i have that cold thing the rest of the family got i Disney and cannot even think straight. Will be back to chat later on! Have a great day!

Morning Ladies,

Lauri ~ That is so cool that you won an I Pad. I never win anything.

Kat and Robin ~ I agree!! I love the Chew - have only seen it a couple of times as I work during the day. I really need to DVR it - hummm never thought of that until now. I am such a nerd :rotfl2:

Nan ~ Welcome home my friend. Sorry you aren't feeling good. Coming home sometimes I get that way also. Just look at it this way - I would much rather feel bad at home than in Disney. ;) just sayn!!

We had our Christmas parade downtown last night. What fun. We had a float for the Church and all the kiddos and parents rode. Elizabeth took the boys and Liam fell asleep. So cute!! We came back to the Church for hot chocolate and cookies. They all sang Happy Birthday to Liam. It is so neat to see this sleepy little town all come out for the Parade. There must have been 500 people lining the 4 blocks of Downtown. We had a really fun night.

WFDT ~ Out to the Pub before Choir and Bells.

Make it a great day!!
