In and Out in a Day

Hi everyone.

Nancy - Those are great subjects you're taking. Have fun with the learning; and the marks will take care of themselves.

Ellen - Hope you had a lovely time with Marty, Stephanie and Lily.

I'm in for a busy time between now and Christmas. Just took a look at all the end of year type functions that are on for the rest of the year and we're going to be doing a bit of running around between DH, DS and my calendars. :faint:

Happy Friday all,

Nan ~ I hear ya! We got our pictures taken on Wednesday and the photographer kept saying "Smile Doug". What she didn't know was - he was!! :rotfl2:
I think you misunderstood me. There are 2 ladies each day that come in and help the photographers. I just run the computer from my office and tell them of any changes. Plus I bet our church is a LOT smaller than yours. We only have approximately 200 families.

PIO ~ Thanks, we had a nice time last night. Lilly wasn't in the best of moods though. This time change we had is really messing with her. She was up at 5:30 and by 7 she was ready for bed and a bit cranky. Bath time and she was in bed, so we didn't get a lot of time to play. Bless her heart.

I am getting a cold/sinus infection or something. I feel awful and just want to go home. But I am at work at least for awhile. I may go home early. It is just me and Pastor Dyton this morning and he is in his office so I am not infecting a bunch of people. I haven't been sick in years and I am not happy about this now either. We leave for vacation in a little over 2 and I sure want to feel better. I have a lot to do between now and then. Dang it!!

WFDT ~ a big ole pot of Chicken and rice soup. That should sooth the throat.

Make it a great day and weekend.

PIO- what a time to have a busy season! Your work load is high as it is, so to have a seasonal uptick is a big issue.

Ellen- yes, our Church is bigger, but there are more support staff. And w committee handles just about every "extra" activity that takes place, so the admin doesn't have to do the "extras" (although I bet that every activity does impact her). We also have a DRE as well as support for her too.
I chuckled picturing Doug smiling!

I also feel for Baby Lily! The time change is messing me up too!

I have no ambition today. The Chimney Guy us coming and after that I am making chicken and rice for the guys working in the shed.

Ellen - Take care of yourself. I hope this early cold means that you're immune for the rest of the season. Rest up.....you need to be well for your holiday. I hope Lily adjusts to the time change soon. Its not fun, is it?

Nancy - Chimney Guy? Is he cleaning out your chimneys or something?

We woke up to cloudy skies and rain this morning. I'm taking it easy for now but will have to start the Saturday morning house clean chores soon. We have to head to a guitar group class this afternoon and will then be hosting one of DS' friends over for the rest of the day. His parents will then head over to our place for dinner later.

I'll be cooking some fried rice and serving it with sweet and sour chicken and a stir fry vegetable. I hope that's enough of a selection. DH said he would organise munchies to start and dessert. Here's hoping we have enough food!

Morning girls,

I am right in the middle of Charge Conference reports, Thanksgiving Letter and Reporter. In other words I am swamped. I will be in and out very spotty for awhile.

I am feeling a bit better. Thanks for the well wishes.

Love and prayers to you all!!

WFDT ~T Bones, baked potatoes and acorn squash.

Make it a great day!!

Happy Hump day,

PIO ~ Thanks. I wanted you to know I am thoroughly enjoying your Trip Report. I haven't been able to read for a few days - but eventually I will. Your pictures are stunning!!

Nan ~ NO worries. We know how busy you are. Pop in when you can.

I have a bit of time before the craziness starts this morning. We have another funeral tomorrow. And all reports were due yesterday - I got 3 - 3 that is it. Grrrr!!! I have to have the book ready for approval by Friday. Only a holy intervention will make that happen. ;)

WFDT ~ Chicken fried steaks, boiled potatoes with white gravy and roasted beets.

Make it a great day all - I am really going to have to dig deep today to be nice. :scared:

Hello ladies. Been a couple of weeks around here. :crazy2: I had some sort of flare or something a week and a half ago. Ended up in bed all weekend and my knees were so bad I could hardly walk. Last week I had to go get a shot of cortisone because my right knee continued to hurt. It is much better and I am back to my normal hop-a-long self. :thumbsup2 I think part of the issue was that I was having trouble sleeping and my body had enough of that.

Football, HS that is, season is over. Our boys didn't do as well this year but did end the season on a high note. They won the last game 41-13 and our best player had 310 rushing yards with 4 TD's, one of which he got after a 95 yard run. :woohoo:

Now starts winter swim for my oldest DN which means either getting her and keeping her occupied in between her events while her dad works the meets or keeping her younger sister while their mother goes to watch the meets. I had the older one Saturday night after the meet as her dad was working all day Sunday and her events that day weren't until afternoon. She didn't want to get up at the butt crack of dawn and sit around all day waiting, her little sis had stuff all day Sunday and my sis wouldn't have been able to bring her up to the swim meet.

Ta-ta for now.

Nancy - Hope you get the project finished.

Ellen - Thank you. The TR will be there for a while yet. No rush but thanks for reading along. :goodvibes

Marilyn - Oh no! The knee? I hope it's all better and that it stays that way.

It's meant to be warming up here. But you wouldn't know it from the weather. So far, it's been the wettest November we've had for a long while. I'd like a little bit of summer this year; just enough so that I can complain about the heat and wonder when the heck autumn is gonna start. :upsidedow

TGIF!!!

Marilyn ~ Good to see you my friend. So sorry you haven't been feeling good. Darn knees!!
Good luck getting everyone where they need to be. You are one busy Aunt - I sure hope the appreciate you. ;)

PIO ~ I just marvel how you are complaining about the heat while we are freezing to death.
Last time I was in your neck of the woods, I was on a boat ride in the Sydney Harbor, looking at the Sydney Opera House as everyone sang Happy Birthday to me. We flew home from OZ later that evening and when we landed in LA it was still my birthday. We had a 17 hour lay over so I went to DL. That still just completely amazes me.

Nan ~ How 'ya doing my friend? You can do this :cheer2:

The Charge Conference book in on the way to the District Super. as I type. Now all I have to do with it, is make 75 copies for the meeting on the 24th. Praise the Lord. I am pooped!! :rotfl2:

We are headed to Lincoln as soon as Doug gets off of work. The Huskers play Michigan State tomorrow. It should be a good game. It truly could go either way. We are 7-2 and they are 8-1. But they are playing in our house. We shall see!! "GO BIG RED"

WFDT ~ Jimmy John's. We asked Matthew to get them again so we can eat when we get there. YUM!!

Make it a great day and weekend!

Hello everyone! Hope you're all busy with real life.

I'm doing okay and trying to keep up with real life myself. I've managed to put the Christmas tree and some of the decorations around the house up. I'm debating as to whether to put out the decorations in the family room; and I'm thinking that this might be something that gets put on the backburner this year. If I have time, I'll put the garland and decorations out. Otherwise, the tree will suffice.

I'm hoping to get round to Christmas cards this week....aiming to write about 10 per night. Sadly, tonight is a no-go. I picked up a massive headache yesterday and am still feeling the pain today. So, I'm just catching up on threads before an early night.

Ellen - It was 30 C today before the cold change came through. I thought of you and your comments in the last post.

Keep well all.

Hi All! First, I know that there has been wicked weather all over this country, but honestly, I am still in shock thinking about the tornado stricken area of our Country. Prayers offered for those people who were in harms way, and for those resilient people who will rebuild.

I am drowning in work, but I really think i am really managing my time badly. My project went well, and I hope that he shares our grades soon. We have tests due, and they are take home. I know that I prefer them, but he makes them very difficult to compensate for the luxury of using our resources. One due tomorrow and one on Monday. Marisa is coming to walk me through one part that I just cannot get. The teacher is okay with collaboration as long as that is what happens, so I sure do hope after Marisa explains it, I can do it.

I hope all of you are well and will check back in soon!

I typed out a long response this morning and it is gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, it is really cold here in CT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have the heat up to 70 and an still shivering. I do hope all of you are well, and hope that as you get ready for the holidays, you take some time for yourselves.

Ellen- you do more than 3 people, I worry about you!
PIO- I saw that you are busy at work, but that is always teh way you roll!

GLynis- Still thinking about you!

Marilyn- how are you doing? I hope that the shot is still working and your knee is pain free

Well, I am going to my sisters tonight with Marisa and Kady. Deb is home and we are having turkey for dinner to celebrate. Deb is not going to make it back for the holidays, so we are skipping class! I spoke to the professor and he is okay with it.

The test was okay, I think. Marisa checked it all over and she never woul dhave let me turn in something that had mistakes in it. I am now starting on my Intermediate test, due Monday. Marisa has already started it and said it was tough, so I am :faint: before I even begin. Oh well, Wish me luck

I'll be back tomorrow!

I'll share. I think you all know that I needed a change at work. So, when I came back from the vacay in October, I initiated discussions with my client. I love their workplace but don't like the current program/work that I'm on. They were very understanding and will move me on to another program of work in the new year. Win, win, win! The only thing left is for them to make sure that I have a new work contract in place for next year. This current one finishes at the end of the year.

PIO- Good for you! I am so glad you made changes at your job, you were way too stressed!

Morning ladies,

I am sorry I have been absent for awhile but I am proud to say that the conference book is completely FINISHED!!! That is such a relief!!

PIO ~ Good for you!! I am proud of you. Life is to short to do something every day that we don't enjoy.

Nan ~ Any test scores yet? I am glad you were able to take some time and be with Deb. You work way too hard. You might worry about me but I worry about you also my friend.

Glynis ~ You are in my thoughts and prayers. I hope it all works out for you.

Marilyn ~ I so hope the knee is feeling better. A few days after the shots and it should be. You are way to busy to be hurting.

Well I can honestly say I am almost ready to leave on vacation. We will leave bright and early on Sunday morning. I have to pack yet and pay bills, but other than that I am ready. I am almost ready here at the office also.

We are heading to Lincoln today at noon as Ethan is singing in the Nebraska Children's Choir at the Leid Center. It is going to be a fast trip but I wouldn't miss it for the world. The concert is at 4:00 (who in the heck has a children's concert in the middle of the afternoon) so Matthew can't go, but we are picking up Stephanie on the way. But we will meet for dinner afterwards then book it for home. Doug is off of work till December 2, but I have to work tomorrow. It will be a short night.

We are in for some snow today and tonight. Keep us in your prayers as we will be on the road during the worst part. Oh how I love winter.

WFDT ~ Ethan's choice (I would put money on it that it is Red Lobster).

Make it a great day.

Hello ladies. The knees are hanging in there, still some pain but much better than it was. Now to do my exercises to keep it that way. :rolleyes1 I'm sure though at some point I will have to have them operated on but I am hoping to avoid that as long as possible.

Still doing my "exteme" couponing although that will end soon, the store we have been going to is only doing it until the end of December. But I have been able to get lots of stuff to give to the local food bank so it's all good.

I do have to tell you about my "stolen" turkey. The store was running a special where you had to buy $250 in groceries to get a free turkey. The amount that counted was after they ran the store card but before they took off any coupons. I almost had mine in just two trips. :yay:

I went to one store on the 9th and had a little less than $50 to buy and I would be set. Last Saturday the 16th I went to a different store and when I looked at the bottom of the receipt when I got home it said I had redeemed the special on the 11th. I went back to the same store on Sunday and the woman looked it up and sure enough "I" had gotten the turkey on the 11th and I had also been to the other store that morning. :scared1:

This particular store only gives out the key ring tags and I had lost one of them so either this person picked it up thinking it was theirs, or they saw what I was doing with the coupons and when I dropped the tag picked it up knowing that they would be able to get that turkey faster. :furious: I had the card canceled and was issued a new set and they put the turkey on the new card.

Well it's off to do those darn exercises, see you all later!

Marilyn - :furious:. That is so unfair!!!! So sorry your turkey was stolen. Hope your knee does more than hang in there. Hope it gets better soon.

Ellen - Enjoy your vacay. Where are you going?

 Hi everyone else. Hope you're all well.

Well I can honestly say I am almost ready to leave on vacation. We will leave bright and early on Sunday morning. I have to pack yet and pay bills, but other than that I am ready. I am almost ready here at the office also.

Good morning Ellen! SOunds like a frantic weekend but a fun one! I love a childrens choir and am impressed that aethan is participating. I know he will be the "star" in your eyes! Please post a little video on FB, if you don't mind, I would love to "go"!
Safe travels in your snowy drive!

I do not have any scores from the last test and presentation yet. SO far my grades are about 98% in both accounting classes and in my nutrition class 100 in the Mac class.

I do have to tell you about my "stolen" turkey.

I am so mad about your turkey troubles! It looks like the store gave one back though, did I get that right? I will never understand folks taknong things that do not belong to them, it never turns out well.
Those exercises are no fun, but keep it up!

Well, I am working on my list for Pie Night, which is on Sunday. For the past two years, we have been following in Glynis footsteps and get together for Pie
before Thanksgiving Day.

So far I am making Mystery Pecan Pie, Salted Caramel Pie and Cranberry Cherry pie. I am also serving Pizza Pie. I have complained bout my persnickety Dan, and his list of" Not Pie" Pies is hysterical, so this yer I decided to serve Pizza Pie, just for him :rotfl: He sent me a text that he is making a "Pie" chart of his favorite pies :lmao: I did say that if he served oit, he needed to sample the first :slice" LOL!

What is everyone doing for Thanksgiving?
