In and Out Burger

That's a good plan. That particular In-N-Out isn't the closest, but it's the easiest to find - straight up Harbor Blvd (north from DL) - and the bus stop at Harbor and Orangethorpe is steps away from the store. The other places you mentioned are spread out in the vicinity. Map here: http://www.wikimapia.org/#lat=33.8600815&lon=-117.9242527&z=17&l=0&m=b

I think this is the one we went to - and back in 2008 I thought the Character Warehouse store was right there too at the Orange Fair Marektplace. Is that correct??

Love to hit In and Out whenever we are anywhere near one!

Yes, it's nearby on the map. There's also a See's Candy store, and the "former Zody's" on the map is now a Walmart. Henry's on the map is now the Sprouts mentioned above, a Whole Foods/Trader Joes kind of store.

My partner and I were planning on skipping In-n-Out to devote more time in the Land, but now that I know the Character Outlet store AND See's Candy are right there too... Well, it sounds like we'll be making that trip after all. :cool1:

We went there - it's great. The inside is quite small though..maybe 10 tables at best. They are best known for the simple menu and the "In N Out" part of it. :)

the menu is anything but simple...

they have animal style, flying dutchman, mustard grilled, grilled cheese, extra toast, etc. etc.

While I will not nearly be as rude as the other poster who does not care for In-and-Out, I will say I just don't get what all the hype is all about? I have had burgers 10x better. Heck 5 guys beats In-and-Out by far. red Robin I find better. I think that it is way over hyped, of course all you out of towners want In-and-Out and want to help our local economy, who am I to tey to stop you. Enjoy.

I am totally with you. I had one a few weeks ago in Vegas with fries and the fries were not even cooked. They were soggy. This was my second time there and same experience.

As others have said, the one on Harbor Blvd is not the closest but definitely the easiest to find. We went to the other one once and got lost so now we always head to Harbor. I think cab ride would be about $10 each way?
In N Out is awesome. DH worked there for three years in his youth, and therefore got free burgers 5 days/week and still loves it. :confused3 I'd be sick of it if I'd eaten it that much but I do love eating there when we're on the mainland.

While I'm not a huge fan of In/Out I can appreciate their burgers because they are so fresh. Now the animal fries....I would make a meal out of just those! :rotfl:

We don't have In-n-Out ... we are looking at the experience of being able to say "been there -- done that".

I think I'm ready to order:

Grilled cheese dark with grilled onions -- animal style
fries dark

Let me explain something to you. There are not In and Out's everywhere, most people live outside of their market. So when you want something special you can only get when traveling, you do it. This applies far more to In n Out than the other places you noted which are coast to coast chains. Go on vacation to do something different than you can when sleeping at home.

I think we've got 4 now with anther coming about 7 miles from my house!

Thanks, I just went to thier site and it's shows 7 locations, between Orem and Farmington. It will be much nicer to get to thoser rather than have to make it to St. George where if I am it's likely I am going to Vegas or DL anyway.

Let me explain something to you. What I said was I don't understand the hype. I did offer a personal opinion of the place, yes, but I just don't see why people hold this place in such high regard. If you want to talk about a more localized burger, find a Fatburger. Blows In-and-Out out of the water.

You'd never think that a thread about a fast food joint would cause such controversy but every time anyone mentions In 'n Out on the DIS, the claws and fangs come out.

Every. Single. Time.

Seriously!! Everyone seems to be getting their panties in a bunch for some reason :confused3

While In-n-Out is certainly not my favorite burger (homemade beats anything, any day), when comparing it to other fast food type burgers, it's easily a step above. And for some reason I'm obsessed with their raw onions....:lmao:

That is what my reply explained, read it again.

Again read my reply. It was just a relay of basic common sense.

If you want to be nicer, then just suggest other SoCal specific dining options. It is that simple. There is no need to mock other people or thier opions.

Thank you! I guess some people don't appreciate opinions. This is America, right? :disrocks:
