Sausage gravy is good, hamburger gravy is better, blackberry jam sounds great although raspberry (w/seeds) would be better but the best biscuit topping of them all (IMHO) is real melted butter and honey that just drips off!

I'm an English muffin fan, myself... although I love either type of biscuit with sausage gravy. Yummy yum yum.

I like biscuits with dinner -- maybe with some stewed chicken or something, but for breakfast I just say no.

For breakfast we have (if any) flaky with butter for each layer, it is usually dinner when I make Sausage or Hamburger gravy with buttermilk biscuits, because of the extra prep time involved!

Did I miss something? I never assumed OP was referring to only for breakfast, I thought it was a biscuit poll regardless of when you eat them. DD loves sausage patties on a biscuit for breakfast with grape jelly - my DH the New Englander introduced her to the whole grape jelly with sausage on a biscuit thing.....I'm from California, don't think I actually had biscuits until KFC added them to their menu so we would have had them for dinner with brown gravy.

I have to say, I'm really disappointed that me being a wonderful person is tied for last with dried pressed bean curd biscuit substitute. My self esteem is taking a blow.

Are biscuits with sausage gravy a Southern thing? I've never heard of it.
We have toasted bagels with butter and jelly or cream cheese.
