We were back on track with early rising today - up, ready & on the move by 7:40 or so! Today was the Cape May Character Buffet breakfast at 8. I didn't feel like hassling with buses to get over there, so we simply took a cab - a few minutes and about $11 or $12 later, we arrived. As you'll see in the dining report for this .. I loved it!!

After breakfast, I wanted to take just a short while and stroll around the Beach Club. It's pretty here, and I'd keep it in mind perhaps, for a future split stay with the Grand. Although I was glad I wasn't doing that this trip, not with all the construction going on over there -- looked like it could be potentially really noisy!

Since it wasn't TOO ungodly hot yet, we walked over to Epcot, and headed to Future World. First thing was the whole "Land" pavilion again, and there weren't really any waits for anything this time. Funny how one day, a place can be swarming with people and the next, be [relatively] calm. The boys wanted to go back over to Innoventions again, so I was happy to take them! LOL We didn't play too long in here though, as they also wanted to peruse Mouse Gear. When this store was first built, I wasn't thrilled because I missed the old set up. However, I've gotten more used to it now, and really like it a lot! It's just massive!!! LOL

Many purchases later <g> we emerged, and headed to HISTA. I STILL pick my feet up for the mice in this show! LOL I KNOW it's only air but it still gives me the creeps!! Next was a nice leisurely "UOE" ride, which both the boys snoozed through! LOL silly boys, this is a good attraction!! LOL

We headed around through the rose gardens and started visiting the WS next.
After several boat rides on El Rio de Tempo in Mexico, and each boy buying a Mexican marionette, we had to hurry along to our lunch in Japan, at Teppanyaki.

After lunch, since we'd skipped dessert, I decided to FINALLY try for myself some of the infamous Kaki Gori! Wellllllllll .. (Debbie, tell Jackie to cover her eyes! LOL) .. I didn't like it!!! WAY WAY too sweet for me. The texture of the ice was good, but the flavors were just too much. I had half strawberry & half tangerine. BUT .. I DID love the candymaker lady outside Japan .. she's amazing!!

We got FP's for the ride in Norway and while waiting, walked around, stopping in China, Morocco, where we listened to the terrific band there - I really enjoy that music!, and played a while in China with those stick things you toss around. In fact, the boys each bought a set.

We strolled through Italy (which looks strange with the scaffolding up) and shopped a little there, and somehow, ended up back in Mexico for a little snack outside. I just had some tortillas & a margarita, and the kids shared a burrito, Dave had one on his own. Afterwards, we made the rounds again (and nope .. I dont' get bored just walking around there & picking things to see here 'n there! LOL I can do that endlessly!) stopping at the zzzzzzzzzzz... oh sorry, fell asleep there! <G> American Adventure, and a few other spots. We timed it right and the "British Invasion" was performing, so everyone sat a while and listened to them.
Though I'm not a big Beatles fan at all, they're really very good. Then we caught a very funny skit about King Arthur peformed by the WS players, and THAT I did like a lot!! And the gentlemen from the audience that were chosen to play King Arthur & a knight did a perfect job with their roles too! LOL It's so much better for the rest of the audience when someone is chosen who "gets into" their "15 minutes of fame"!

The kids had bought magic tricks earlier, so after the WS players show, we sat & had a cider and watched THEIR "show"! LOL Evan LOVES having an audience for things .. and most of the times, he is pretty darned funny .. not always though! LOL

We then moved on to France, went in and saw the movie (my fav. in Epcot) and did a little shopping there. Oh .. had another snack too! <g> of a nice glass of champagne and a fruit & cheese plate. No one else was hungry!! While there, we decided to change the dinner plans. Originally, we were supposed to be at Chef Mickey's, and then do Eticket night at the MK .. but we'd already done that, so instead, I was able to get a Bistro reservation .. which I personally was much happier about! LOL

We got back around to Norway, and Dave took the boys on the ride again while I watched TON -- this is just such a cool, cool parade!! The music is just wonderful and it stays with you too! LOL I was humming those songs for hours afterwards!

After dinner in France, I bought some cosmetics I'd planned on before I left home, and then we headed off to the special viewing area available to Grand Plan guests for Illuminations .. which is just the Morocco boat landing area. It does afford a good view, though I think the area in Italy is a little better.

Once Illuminations was over, we managed to actually make pretty good time in getting back to the Grand. Luck held, and we caught both the monorail from Epcot to the TTC, and on to the Grand, without a wait.

Back in the room, while everyone else went to bed, I just sat up a while with a last glass of wine, and soaked up the night from my Grand balcony one last time for this trip. The next day was "moving day", onto AKL, and I wanted that remaining bit of time in 'my' hotel!

Day 8, and the move(s!) next!

I am pooped just thinking of it all.........thanks again for the report

I'm like you..I've heard so much about Kaki Gori that one day I'll have to try one. They sound like the shaved ice things we have around here. Its nice that you got some quiet time tonight.

That's exactly what they're like - the "Hawaiian" shaved ice things .. I did like the texture of the ice. What I didn't like was the syrup on them - it was just too sweet for my taste.
