I'm thankful for...MICKEY!!! My Thanksgiving '08 TR!: TR Update, Last Day!

Anytime you need hair advice ask away! I took mine deeper last month but yesterday I put a deep violet blackish brown shade:lovestruc it! It's wicked shiny and next time I might do a little more violet, it so dark you only get hints but it looks fabu!

I am the temper tantrum/control queen, trying to get it under (via going back to therapy) control but alot of it is that I want things to go the RIGHT way (as in being on time, not staring at a map, having a plan, etc) That's why I was so happy to go to AK with Ecogirl. MADWALKIN' I say :thumbsup2 Girl, anytime you want to plan a trip with me, just say GO. I'm trying to plan a DCL for next year but everyone is dwindling on my. I. MUST. CONTROL. MY. TEMPER. :lmao:

Your hair sounds awesome! Some day I'll be brave enough to try a violet color!

I absolutely hear ya on wanting everything to go the RIGHT way! I feel like if everyone would just LISTEN TO ME, everyone would have FUN!!! :lmao: I think everyone in my family is used to that, but not my SIL! Hopefully, I can keep that on the DL on the trip!

I borrowed Ratatouille from one of my little patient's sisters today! She was also my supplier of the Little Mermaid. I think she loves being able to share her Disney stuff with me! Works for me! Not sure if I'll have time to watch Ratatouille tonight, but I can't wait to see it again. I love that movie!

I was at the grocery store yesterday and I saw in the checkout line that they have Disney gift cards there. So instead of going to the biggest-outlet mall-in-the world-in-which-I-can-never-find-the-Disney-Store, I can just buy our gift cards at the grocery store! That will also keep me from buying some shirts I don't need when I'm only supposed to be in there for gift cards!

My 3 girlfriends from high school had to cancel their trip this weekend. :sad2:

My friend's dog got bitten really badly by another dog this weekend and has a big wound that needs liquid stitches and antibiotics twice a day. None of the kennels will take a dog with an open wound. And her dog isn't supposed to be around other dogs till she heals, so none of the usual dog sitters can watch her as they all have dogs.

My other friend is a lawyer and her boss told her YESTERDAY that she can't take Friday off anymore (they were supposed to leave Friday morning) even though she asked for it off a MONTH ago!

So that leaves only one friend who is scared to fly by herself. She gave birth to a baby without drugs, but she's scared to fly by herself. :confused3

SOOO...no one is coming to visit this weekend. :sad1: Even though I'm sad, I kinda feel like God was trying to tell us that this trip should not happen. Like something bad may have happened if they came.

HOWEVER, we all decided that with the Southwest credits they will get for canceling their flights, we will all take a 30th birthday trip together next year. All four of us will turn 30 in 2009. So now we need to think of a great place to go! (Of course, Disney was the first thing I thought of, but I'm not sure they'll go for that.)

It is a disappointment that the weekend didn't come through, but already having flights paid for an awesome 30th birthday celebration is a good thing!

Disney seems like an excellent choice for a celebration - so many different things to do for so many different tastes. If you could go one one of the actual birthday dates, that person could get a little break on their park ticket. If they won't go for Disney World, though, you could think about trying out one of the Disney Adventures. That would be pretty cool, too. Or maybe New York and a Disney Broadway play, with some shopping at World of Disney, naturally.

There are plenty of ways to throw a little Disney fix in there, but even if you do nothing remotely Disney, you girls will all have lots of fun together!

So, now that you have a free weekend, you have time to knit a few sweaters and scarves for the cold Chicago winters ahead of you! :)

So sorry your friends can't come. But, as you say, everything happens for a reason - here's to a great 30th celebration!

Sorry to hear that your friends aren't coming after all :(. Hope the 30th celebration is so wonderful that it makes up for this missed weekend!!!

I completely forgot about the birthday offer at Disney World. That is a good point!

I think it would be so fun to go to Disney World with a bunch of my best girlfriends. Let's hope they think the same way. But you're right...whatever we do, we can sneak in a little Disney. And we're bound to have a wonderful time no matter what our plans may be!

Oh my goodness! Speaking of sweaters and scarves, I have been looking at my clothes to make sure I have everything I need for Disney. I know I'm gonna need layers for Disney. The evenings will probably be pretty cool. Well, I have discovered that I have SO FEW cold weather clothes. I think 3 years was just the perfect amount of time to stay here to allow me to donate almost all of my cold weather clothes. Time for some shopping!

So sorry your friends can't come. But, as you say, everything happens for a reason - here's to a great 30th celebration!

Yes, I can't help but feel that this trip was just not supposed to happen. There were too many things that happened to tell us that.

And I am SO excited about the 30th birthday celebration! My friends are all dreading turning 30, but I'm excited about it. We've all made some major accomplishments in our 30 years on this Earth, and it's time to celebrate that!

Sorry to hear that your friends aren't coming after all :(. Hope the 30th celebration is so wonderful that it makes up for this missed weekend!!!

Yes, hopefully, we can plan a celebration that will blow this canceled weekend out of the water!

TWO WEEKS FROM TODAY, I WILL BE AT DISNEY WORLD!

I was looking at our flight confirmation yesterday and I was reminded that our flight is at 6:10 a.m. :scared1:

I guess I'll be up at 3:30 a.m. on Thanksgiving! But I'll get up at any time of the morning/night if it means I'm going to Disney World!

Yesterday, we confirmed with our friends that they are able to watch our dogs during our trip. We are very fortunate to have friends that actually LIKE to watch our dogs. That saves us so much money and so much worry!

Oh, I'm SO excited!!!!!:hyper:

Two weeks from today, we are going to be at DHS for the first time since it has been called DHS.

Hopefully, we'll get there early enough to catch this show
PA280013.JPG

And maybe do some drawings
PA290048.JPG

And ride a super fun ride
PA290034.JPG

I did a 2 mile walk with the dogs this morning. Hopefully, I'll get one of those in every day till the trip! I am SO going to be ready for rope drop action!

I'm sorry your friends couldn't make the trip, but you're right - it seems like it really wasn't meant to be. I hope your friend's dog gets better soon. Poor puppy! :sad2:

OMG, a 6am flight! Can we expect a pic of your DH with "the look" for having to get up so early? :lmao: It'll be great, though. You'll have the whole Thanksgiving day at Disney!:thumbsup2

Can you tell I'm not getting ANY work done this morning? :rotfl:

I just ordered a pair of crocs from shoebuy.com with a 10 dollar off coupon code. I couldn't decide whether I should buy a pair or not, but with the 10 dollar off coupon, how could I resist?

My mom was able to use the coupon too to get herself a pair of crocs!

Yay!

Also, I received a 30% off old navy coupon today, so I'm going to head over there to see if there is anything I NEED for the trip!

Oh, I'm sure there will be many pictures of "the look" from this trip! You can count on that!

I feel so bad for my friend's dog (Paisley). I also feel bad for our other friend whose dog bit Paisley. He feels like it's his fault that Paisley got bitten, but they were just being dogs. And Paisley is on the mend and will be ready to play with her dog friends again soon!

Aww I'm sorry that your friends cant come :guilty: I believe what you do though, that there has to be a reason why this all happened, preventing them from coming. Maybe you are destined to take another Disney trip for your 30th! :thumbsup2 And there's always something you NEED at Old Navy...they always have good buys there too so its a win-win! :goodvibes

2 weeks and you're in Disney!!

I can't believe that your trip is so close -- how did it sneak up on us like that???

Was that your drawing of Minnie? If so, you are a way better artist than any of us at my house!

That really stinks big time about your friends not being able to go  ALTHOUGH doing a big 30th next year would be awesome! :dance3:

I LOVE Ratatioulle!

You're right...there were some things I NEEDED at Old Navy...two shirts!

Yay for 2 weeks! :yay:

When I started this pre-trip 14 years ago, I thought this trip would never come. I have to say, though, that the past year has FLOWN by. Thanks for sticking around for my whole TR!!!

That was my drawing of Minnie. I was shocked that it came out looking even remotely like Minnie! My brother is a wonderful artist, so I'm curious to see what his animation academy drawing(s) will look like!

That really stinks big time about your friends not being able to go  ALTHOUGH doing a big 30th next year would be awesome! :dance3:

I LOVE Ratatioulle!

Yeah, I'm still kinda sad about my girls not coming. I had already bought special food for the weekend and everything. Guess I'll have to eat it all myself. ;) I am stoked about planning a 30th birthday trip. It's looking like it's going to be a spa weekend...we just have to figure out where!

Ratatouille is on my to-do list this weekend!

Or you could pack it up and bring it with you and we could have a picnic out in the UK garden! :rotfl:

We have Ratatouille, but I can't find it anywhere. Drew watches some of the Pixar ones sometimes, and I think he may have taken it off and left it a someone else's house. I like that movie, except for the part where he's in the jar. I can't stand that part.

Two weeks from today, we'll all be waking up in Disney World. Yay, us!

I love Ratatouille, too, but I have a thing about rodents of any sort (they totally creep me out) and the scenes were there are hundreds of rats tends to give me the heebie jeebies!

Oh, that would be SO nice! :cloud9:

Yes, I would imagine that jar scene would bring on the claustrophobia big time!

Yay!!!

Waking up in Disney World is the BEST feeling.

I guess I block out the fact that Ratatouille is actually a rat when I watch the movie!

As MeMom mentioned, 2 weeks from today, we will be waking up in Disney World. DH and I may or may not have partaken in Black Friday sales online at midnight and we may or may not have a hard time getting out of bed for rope drop at MK!

We'll walk up this street (but it will be decorated for a different holiday!)

We'll see this magnificent sight

I hope to get one of my favorite treats in the whole World

And we'll go on some rides, including this one

Is this window decoration still there? I loved it!
