I'm taking off my moderating hat...........

Shirley, just read the news. As others have said, you are the board. You certainly welcomed me, someone who wasn't actually UK, and made me feel part of the group. I hope you stay around to contribute your thoughts, ideas, jokes, and good advice. Finally getting to meet you and some of the members last December was great. We'll have to do it again this year. I know that you are way too young to retire, so take a brief break, then stick around and keep us all company.
Joe

Many thanks for all your hard work Shirley, I know what a big job it is to be a mod, and you have done a great one.

Enjoy your 'retirement'

Bev

What are you going to do with the extra time on your hands?

I do definatley equate you as the Uk Dis.

I just had to post to wish you well in your 'retirement from the Mod Team' my dear friend, I know how hard it was for you to come to this decision. As has been said before, you ARE the UK Dis, and I know you will be sorely missed.

We had some great fun over the years didnt we, I for one will be always be thankful to the Dis for bringing us together so that we could become the great friends that we have :)

I am sorry I couldn't post this beforehand - my PC died completely on Tuesday and I am now the proud owner of an 'all singing, all dancing' new one! LOL

Take care and speak soon :):)

Shirley you were one of the pioneers of the UK boards and did a lot of work to get them going so smoothly. You will be missed. Things won't be the same without you to watch over us. Thank you for all the work and time you put it even when it wasn't easy. Hope you still visit as you always have good advice and kind words for those that need it. You are one of the few women I have ever met that I can say is a true lady. Best of luck in your "retirement".

I am really taken aback by your posts - thank you all very much indeed.

Hi Shirley

god what can I say, you have done wonders for this board - and janice also.
So sorry to see you go.
Thanks for all the help that you have given me over the years (remember the dd's ingrown toe nail thread:eek: ).

Take Care
love
Jeanette:wave:

Shirley, I haven't posted here very much in recent times but I remember you (and of course Janice) when I first joined the old UK DIS before we lost the boards (plus all the old glorious posts) and transferred over here.

After all your hard work, a well earned rest. I hope you still keep posting as enthusiastically as always and that we don't lose the sunny disposition and welcoming, friendly atmosphere you have created on these boards over the years.

Wherever the boards go in the future you and Janice will always be the First Ladies of the DIS.

Take care and very best wishes,
Peter

LOL Jeanette :teeth: Yes I remember the ingrown toenail thread ;)

Another thank you for the last posts since mine and Peter, you make me  (and yes I shall still be posting whenever I have the opportunity :) )

It is true, you are surgically removing your hat!! Thank you for making us so welcome, and although I hardly visit the DIS now I certainly will miss you, but luckily can find you at "home"!!

Have fun as a plain old DISer!! Not as bad as it sounds....:p

Oh no!

Just wanted to say a BIG thanks for all the help over the years and I still vividly remember the warm welcome that you gave me on my very first meet (now looking forward to meet number 12 or so this weekend)
