I'm Surprised Disney Doesn't Promote ABD Before

Back when the Disney Institute wasn't doing so well, I remember how heavily they promoted it. There were ads all over the resort televisions, print materials, and the CMs would mention it when you called to make ressies. I'm a little surprised they're not doing this with ADB, particularly with the itineraries that seem to be having trouble (besides the cancelled CA itinerary and the cancelled Backstage Magic dates, I know someone who went on a European trip and discovered she was the only person who wasn't a travel agent!). On our last Disney cruise, I was watching the plugs for the other cruise itineraries and DVC and thinking what a perfect opportunity it would be to have an ABD infomercial (geek that I am, I would willingly watch it). I wonder if they'll ever start heavier promotion.

There is one station at WDW that is running alternating 12min DCL and ABD infomercials 24/7.

I can now tell you that you get to stay in a castle in Germany where a giant used to live who had three beautiful daughters.

Or you can live the good life in Italy by making pizzas.

The one and only time I've seen ABD advertized was on the back cover of Business Week a few weeks ago. Other than that I wouldn't have known it existed.:confused3

We thought it was funny...watching the travel channel Samantha Brown Macchu Picchu show, they ran the ad for going to WDW for $1600. Seems like if they bought the ad space, they would have done better to run an ABD ad that highlighted the Peru adventure.

I guess Disney should offer all of us marketing jobs. :upsidedow

There are fold out brochures in the resorts as well now.

Just received our Annual Report from the Walt Disney company yesterday. A fold out brochure about Adventures by Disney was also included.

if you're lucky enough to be on the DME bus after all the other videos are over, they do run an ABD video. i'm pretty sure DCL provides you with an ABD brochure too?

I haven't gotten one on DCL, just lots of DVC stuff. Sure hope they start tho'! I want ABD to be around for a long time, as there are several European adventures I would like to take and that will need to be spread over a few years due to our cruising addiction.
