"I'M STUCK IN DISNEY!!!!!!!!" A Delightfully Unliveable TR ~ NEW TR 9/27!!!!!!!!!!!

All caught up on my return from WDW!! Loved the MNSSHP updates. So awesome that you decided to go to a 3rd party!
Your meet and greets with the characters really make me miss having younger kids. This trip was with preteen boys, and all they were interested in was riding the headliner rides. :sad1:
I do have to sincerely thank you, though! Because of your recommendations on LeFou's Brew, I took an EMH MK evening and made my way to Gaston's Tavern. The boys would have none of that "Princess" area, so I had to sneak away one night on my own! :thumbsup2 the Brew was just as incredible as you'd said. So thanks. (I even went back for another one a few days later-:rolleyes1)

Aww, boo for the boys not being into meet & greets! You know what, I honestly wasn't that into it for a few years myself but I got back into it!

That's excellent!! I am so happy I could help bring LeFou's Brew into your life. I'm not surprised that you went back for more. One cup of brew is not enough!!!

Hey Lia,

We finially got a chance to get caught up on your last few updates. :) So much great stuff as always. I just had to tell you how great your comments on the Villians Party were, LMAO!! :rotfl2:

Thank you so much for all the work that you put into your TR's. It really does pay off with the most entertaining reading on these boards!! All hail the awesome "Queen of the Poly"!!!!!!!

awdwnut (Rob & Jenn)

Heyyy! Yeah I just do not get that Villains show. Maybe someday I will be enlightened enough to understand it. :rotfl2:

Aww thank you! The only way I know how to do it is to give my all. I mean, if I'm gonna write about all my trips I may as well do my best and make them good!!

I just spent the past few nights catching up and must say I have missed being here just to read your TRs! Your excitement over your first MNSSHP is exactly what I hope to experience this year for my own. And now we know that Flynn Rider is not absolutely promised so we won't be incredibly disappointed if he doesn't show up. (But he'd better. I've got a thing for thieves.) Kind of using your TR as my unofficial guide to what possibly to do during the party. Hope you don't mind.

It was a bummer to read how your friend hit the wall during the party, though. :sad1: Disney really is for everyone and it's hard to find just that right person (or persons) who have the same level of vacation energy as you. I hope she's able to look back on the trip just as fondly as you are. Being stuckinDisney looks like such (expensive) fun!

Thanks so much! I really hope Eugene is there for you. It was so sad when he wasn't at first. Thank God I had another party to see him at. Honestly, you should be okay, I've never heard of that happening before.

So do I! As far as I know it was a great trip for her, she has never referenced it negatively. Just because it didn't end in the most perfect way doesn't mean we didn't make great memories the rest of the time, you know? You have to focus on the good.

It was expensive but oh well. I don't care. I had the time of my life so it was totally worth it. :thumbsup2

Dear Lia,

First off, I miss you.

Second off, helloooooooo Tarzan.

Love, Jess princess:

I miss you too :[

OCTOBER 30, 2012
Day 10, Part 7 In Which I Meet The Best Princess Ever

After my AMAZING m&g with Tarzan<3<3<3, Jane, and Turk, I spotted another GREAT costume.

9256235489_caa6ebc103_z.jpg

It's Jack Skellington in his santa suit!! AHH! You see, there were tons of Jack Skellingtons at all 3 of my parties, but all in his regular tuxedo outfit. This was the only Santa I saw. What an awesome idea! I love when people take something normal/common and put a spin on it. That's what I did by going as Mickey, and I'm definitely going to try and cook up something similar for my next MNSSHP! I'm actually already pretty sure of what I want to do... too bad I have NO idea when I'll get to go back. :'(

I love riding Jungle Cruise at night and figured there would be little to no line, so I went down there to check it out. It was all glowy and spooky!

9259012568_3b31c59280_z.jpg

Unfortunately, the ride was closed. However, it was also a Trick or Treat spot. So I got more candy and was on my way to Liberty Square. It was almost time for BOO TO YOU!!!!!

I went back to the same spot I was in for the first two parties, but on the opposite side of the street, so I could get another view. It was awesome seeing the parade from another angle!

9259012970_49c635062c_z.jpg

I started taking photos, but then I realized... I took a ton of pics at my first party, and a ton of video at my second... so I just wanted to sit back and enjoy this one!

I did snap a couple of my favorite part of anything ever, the Haunted Mansion dancers, on my phone though!

A6gNl8dCcAAgAU3.jpg

I love that these pics are cell phone quality AKA not great. They just make the whole thing look even spookier... like real ghosts.

JHSDHJSKD. I just LOVE that so much. That is my #1 coveted WDW job followed by the dancing zebra. Oh my God. HAUNTED MANSION BALLROOM DANCERS MAKE MY LIFE.

So... next I have to tell you a story about one of the most precious little kids I have EVER met in my life.

I am kind of a whiz at finding a good parade spot. There is a trick I know which is to sit/stand right next to where they cut off the spectators area to leave a path for people walking through. Just before the parade, they close off this path and front row spots open up. Works EVERY time.

So, I went and sat behind this family that was in the front row, expecting to move next to them and into the front once they cut the path off. They didn't know about my plan, and IMMEDIATELY made room for me to sit in the front row with them. I was honestly so touched by that, it was just so kind! They were a mom & dad dressed as Haunted Mansion ghosts, a girl about 12, and this adorable little girl about 4 dressed as Belle. She looked EXACTLY what Belle would have looked like at 4 years old. It was seriously the perfect costume for her.

The only member of the family who was fluent in English was the 12 year old. She and her little sister were so ridiculously sweet. I told them they didn't have to make room for me, and that there would be room once they cut the path off, but they INSISTED. So, so, sweet.

The little Belle did know a bit of English and so I tried to chat with her. I really can't stress how beautiful and sweet this child was... she was just SO innocent and content in the moment. She wasn't one of those OHMYDGOIDODHDID IM AT DISNEYWORLODLLD kids, but you could tell she appreciated what was happening SO much. Like, she was just as excited as the kids who scream, but she was just more calm about it. I kept telling her she was the perfect Belle and she would just be like, "I love Belle."

At one point she accidentally spilled her popcorn, a lot of it on me, and her older sister apologized like a million times but I literally did not care at all, she was so adorable that she probably could have thrown up on me and I would have been like whatever. Watching her during the parade with her eyes as big as saucers, pointing out and identifying the characters made me want to cry. This kid was the epitome of what Disney is. The joy, the wonder, the innocence, the love, the magic... it was just all showing on her face.

At the end of Boo To You, Goofy rides by on a giant gumball machine and Cast Members deliver lollipops to everyone watching, but you gotta have your treat bags open to make sure you get some because they go by quickly (pro tip!!) So I told the girls to open their bags because they were gonna deliver candy, and the older one translated what I said to the little Belle. So she got all excited and opened her bag really wide, and they gave her a TON of lollipops. I didn't get any, but I didn't care, especially because I already had so many from previous nights. I actually ended up giving most of mine away once I got home.

Little Belle was SO excited about all the candy, the joy on her face, omg. And then... the cutest thing of my entire life happened.

She looked over and noticed that I had gotten no lollipops. And she looked really sad for a second.
Then she reached into her treat bag, took a lollipop out, and offered it to me.

YOU GUYS. MY HEART. IT MELTED.

It was the sweetest, most precious thing ever and I will NEVER forget that little girl as long as I live. She had this look of sad kindness on her face, like she really felt bad that I hadn't gotten any lollipops.

What a sweetheart. I told her it was okay and that it was her lollipop and that she could keep it. She just put it right into my treat bag. I said thank you and told her she was the sweetest little girl ever, and that she made a great princess because she was kind and giving, which is one of the most imporant qualities of a princess. Her sister translated and Little Belle got all modest and shy and just said, "Thank you."

I will never ever forget her as long as I live.

AHH. That whole experience just made my third time seeing that flawless parade EVEN BETTER. I can't tell you how thankful I am for all these great moments! I love Boo To You so much and seeing it a third time was amazing, but getting to watch it with this great family who raised their kids to be so thoughtful and kind was priceless. I love when you meet people like that who are just a total contrast to other rude guests and it just restores your faith in humanity.

So after parting ways with the cutest little princess ever, my heart was so full I thought it might burst.

I barely remember what I did after this, but I'm pretty sure I went back to the hub to check for Gaston AGAIN. It was the only M&G I hadn't gotten to do that I really wanted to. I was told he wasn't out tonight, and then I guess I ended up wandering around in the stores but I literally have NO memory of it.

9259013534_6c46e7c451_z.jpg

Hmm. Weird. I think I was overwhelmed by the whole night and whole trip and I needed a brain break. LOL.

Eventually, it occured to me... HEY. Halloween is like an hour away. I have to ride the Haunted Mansion! So I walked over to Liberty Square.

9256237191_bdd283c939_z.jpg

I got my fair share of candy on the way, and then it was time for an extra spooky visit with Master Gracey! Everything was all moody and foggy and AWEEESSSOOOMMMEEE.

9256237541_9ce7c85f4c_z.jpg

I have to say, visiting the Haunted Mansion on mischief night really amps the whole thing up. I've always been obsessed with the Mansion... if you couldn't tell spooky things + Disney = ME VERY HAPPY. It's always been one of my favorite rides. But on Halloween.... oooh, it's different. I can't explain it. All I know is I had one spooktacular good time.

9259014556_2a92642861_z.jpg

The lighting is just... oh, it's Heaven for me.

9256238073_448875e133_z.jpg

Even the Pet Cemetary was sa-mokin!!

9256238181_687523353c_z.jpg

OooOooOh, spooky. I LOVED IT. So much perfection... I can not even begin to explain.

So, where did I go next? What could possibly top riding the Haunted Mansion at MNSSHP the night before Halloween?!

NEW FANTASYLAND. DUH.

I figured this was my last crack at it on this trip, so I had to experience it one more time! I was also on two very important missions: 1. Buy some of the New Fantasyland exclusive merch & 2. Get my final Lefou's Brew! :'(

At first though, I mainly just wandered around appreciating the place. I was starting to get used to it as a part of the Magic Kingdom now. The OHMYHODODODGODHGDOD THIS IS NEW FANTASYLANDNDIDNOFLK started to wear off a bit (though not completely) and I just started to feel the same at home feeling I feel in the whole park without such FRANTIC excitement. It was lovely, you know, just chillin' in this place most of the public had not even set foot into yet. AHH.

8699428098_dbdfc2d9a2_z.jpg

I went for one last spin UNDA DA SEA.

9256238475_e879ba64bf_z.jpg

(Pretty random picture I know, but it's the only one I took this time around!).

Then I went into Village Gifts to buy a wine glass I had seen on one of my other trips to New Fantasyland. There was actually a whole Beauty and the Beast dining set but I didn't want to drop a bunch of money on it, especially since I didn't know if I could get everything home in one piece!

A6X_aLhCIAAYkez.jpg:large

I can't find a good pic of my wine glass, so here's one I found on Google:

9396951521_1479af0979.jpg

Still not great, but you get the idea. I'm in LOVE with this glass.

Wine is very important to me, and I can't believe I ever drank it in any other glass other than one with Belle & Beast's image etched in gold on it.

I have a big smile on my face every time I use this glass, and not just because I'm consuming God's Nectar, but because it reminds me of my amazing #StuckInDisney trip and the magic of getting to explore New Fantasyland before most of the world, without crowds, at multiple MNSSHPs. I mean... wow. I sure am lucky when it comes to Disney experiences.

I felt very excited, too, that I was getting EXCLUSIVE merchandise not found anywhere else at Disney World. So many of the stores have the same crap that seeing something new and original kind of gave me a rush, I gotta say. Also, they had signs up that you could only buy four per guest. I wanted to buy like 50, but like most young people, I usually drink my wine alone in bed, so one sufficed.

Very satisfied with my purchase, I headed into Gaston's to get my last LeFou's Brew of the trip!

8698303313_e2f0caf780_z.jpg

Oh, LeFou's Brew. You delicious, flawless, stunningly holy drink.

9259015316_2770db1fac_z.jpg

I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU.

Don't worry... I made it last. Here is a fantastic tip: Bring your refillable mug to the park and put your LeFou's Brew in it. I recommend this because unless you buy a souvenir cup (which I already had), the plastic cup is kind of flimsy and also, it's freezing so when you hold it you have to put napkins around the cup and hold that. It's just not ideal to carry it around a park. So unless you're sitting down and drinking it, I really suggest putting it in your mug. The other great thing is that it will melt much slower in the mug, so you can enjoy it at your leisure. The only thing is, the entire serving of brew will not fit in the mug, so you have to drink some first before pouring it in, or it'll overflow.

This has been LeFou's Brew tips by Lefou's Brew's #1 Obsessed Fan!

Any other questions, I will be happy to answer.

I am the LeFou's Brew expert!

Look no further!!!

Okay, let's move on.

My last MNSSHP was about to end, and Halloween was about to begin. I debated what to do with these precious last moments.

Then I came up with a genius idea.

I wanted to be on the Haunted Mansion when the clock struck midnight.

Midnight on Halloween is when the dead walk the earth and everyone's souls rise and... all that stuff. Or something. I don't know. But I know that it's an awesome time to be on the Haunted Mansion and so it needed to happen!

I booked it back over to Liberty Square, and right in front of the Haunted Mansion there was a dude dressed as Jack Skellington singing "What's This" from Nightmare.

I knew I was in the right place. Welcome home, Lia.

9259015002_4d7fe58431_z.jpg

I got in the queue for the Haunted Mansion just in time, zipped right through the graveyard, and right into the stretching room!!! WOOOOOOOO!! I WOULD DEFINITELY BE IN THE MANSION WHEN THE CLOCK STRUCK 12!

It was awesome. Oh boy did I enjoy that ride.

I'm pretty sure a ghost followed me home.

Or I'm a ghost.

Or both.

Who can really be sure?

I don't know.

Do you?

You know, I wasn't going to say anything, but your cadaverous pallor betrays an aura of foreboding.

Sorry, but I had to tell you. That's what friends are for. You can't go through your life with your cadaverous pallor a mess like that and no one telling you.

You should thank me, really.

Anyway... thus ends my epic 3-night run at Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. WOW was I a lucky girl. I honestly don't know if anything can ever top it!

Ending at the Haunted Mansion as the clock struck Halloween was the most perfect grand finale. What more could a Halloween-loving obsessed Disney fan ask for?! Honestly.

9399721450_d95812ceb7_z.jpg

Thanks for the invite, Mickey. Yet again your party did not disappoint. I love you, and HAPPY HALLOWEEN! :maleficen:hmghost:

Up Next: Oh baby it's not over yet! MY LAST FULL DISNEY DAY WHICH HAPPENED TO FALL ON ALL HALLOW'S EVE!!!!!!! ;D

Maybe it's because I'm a mom now, or maybe it's because I've always been an emotional mess, or maybe it's because I haven't had my coffee yet and am mourning the loss of sleep last night...but I seriously just got all choked up over the Belle giving you a lollipop story:goodvibes. Tears first thing in the morning. Put a little whiskey in my coffee this morning; it's gonna be a long day.

Thanks for the heads-up on my pallor. I kept thinking people were staring and didn't know why. You're obviously a true friend.

And most of all, I appreciate the tips for the Lefou's Brew, as I plan on drinking ALL THE BREW in September. I'm getting the souvenir mug (duh), but only once (I think, and could totally be lying). Bringing the resort mug is genius!

Generally, I'm not a big fan of kids, but your story about the little Belle you met at the parade and her giving you a lollipop because she noticed you didn't have one .... SO sweet! What a fantastic memory - just as good or better than a great character meet & greet! :goodvibes

That BatB dish is going to be one of my purchases on my upcoming trip! I have great ideas of hanging plates on my wall and I want that to be one of them :)

The story of you with the little girl & the lollipops is SO PRECIOUS!!! :lovestruc What a sweet little girl, and what a magical memory for you to take home from your trip! And all only made possible because you were stuck in Disney!

What an awesome third Halloween party. Riding the HM at midnight is a great way to close off an awesome 3 party run. :thumbsup2 So very "you" from what I know of you through TR's. :rotfl: Can't wait to see how you spent your last day!

Ooh, that's a GREAT parade spot tip. I'm going to remember that one. :thumbsup2

Oh man, I got such serious chills and a little choked up reading about your parade family encounter. That is seriously too sweet. I know we all say that Disney is for people of all ages, and it absolutely is, but when you get to see a child experience the wonder of Disney, there is just nothing like it in the world. Their parents are raising them right.

It's stories like this that make your reports so special. Thank you for sharing. :goodvibes

Just wanted you to know that I am a long time lurker and never comment on trip reports but this is my second comment on a report today! :cheer2: Your reports always make me smile and I just wanted to let you know how much I have enjoyed reading them. Can't wait for your next one to begin! Thanks for sharing.

hahaha I don't blame you at all. Let the whiskey flow!!!

I really am. You're very welcome!

GO FOR IT. :woohoo:

It was really one of the sweetest things I've ever experienced. :goodvibes

Yay! That'll look great on the wall.

It really was so magical and I am so grateful to have met her!

Yes, it was very me. :D I am so happy I got to experience that.

Wonderful pics! :goodvibes

Thank you! :dance3:

What a perfect way to end the night. And I also teared up- what a sweet girl!

It really was! I'm not surprised people are tearing up/crying. I felt the same way and I'm glad that's translating!

Ooh, that's a GREAT parade spot tip. I'm going to remember that one. :thumbsup2

Well said! :goodvibes

Thank YOU for reading! It's so great to share all this with you guys and re-live these amazing moments. Somehow they feel even fuller once other people read about them.

Just wanted you to know that I am a long time lurker and never comment on trip reports but this is my second comment on a report today! :cheer2: Your reports always make me smile and I just wanted to let you know how much I have enjoyed reading them. Thank you so much for reading & finally saying hi! :welcome:

Ohmygosh, that family was adorable! It's so nice to see kids that are just genuinely nice people. I mean, most kids are, but not all of them are willing to show it, and definitely not to a stranger. I love telling parents how great their kids are too because it always brightens their day. Too cute!

Ooooh, thanks for the tip on resort mugs and LeFou's brew! Flimsy cups usually spell disaster for me, but I wouldn't have thought to just pour it into my mug!

Such a heartwarming story, and you told it so well!

Glad you enjoyed your last MNSSHP. I am a HUUUUUGE Haunted Mansion fan too, very cool to ride it at midnight! And alone, you're brave ;)

I like your HM dancer phone pics, it definitely works.

And umm, wine! Yes! Great wine drinking glass. Fortunately I have a husband/partner in crime for my wine drinking. I'll have to get two. Also, some wine, since it's so much cheaper in your lovely country.

Thanks for the Lefou tips, haha.

What a sweet story!!! That little girl sounds like an absolute doll princess:

Apparently your trip report has made a huge impression on me, because I had a dream last night that you and I were at The World together! LOL. And here's the thing... I only dream about celebrities!

All hail Queen of the Poly.

Yeah, I am also choking back tears about your encounter with the little girl. I told my DH when I had my positive pregnancy test that I don't care if I raise a genius, prodigy, or the next Hanson brothers (they really did come to mind since I'm from Oklahoma)... I just want a kid that has good manners and is kind to everyone they meet. Then you get to WDW and sometimes wonder if that's even possible, so I love when I can read stories like this on the DIS. :goodvibes

Yay for updates!!

I love the awesome costumes you see at MNSSHP, especially the more uncommon ones! I have SO many ideas for costumes I just wish I was a local so I could go to like, all the parties!!

Those dancers are a dream job for me too, I would love it so much, next year!!

Oh my gosh, tearing up [legit] about that family, the kids seem so sweet. It’s always such a nice change when that stuff happens haha! Oh my gosh, she offered you lollipops?! ACK, best family ever!!

I definitely want to buy all the dining set too! It’s SO NICE! And I have a thing where I don’t want to just buy random souvenirs, the more I can use them in every day life, the better!

Good idea about the refillable mug! I’ll have to remember that in Sept!

What an amazing update to end off MNSSHP. The stories of your parties have made me SO much more excited about the fact that I’m going this year, and I just cannot wait! It really was a magical time for you and I’m so happy you got to experience so many lucky and awesome things!

Awww your third MNSSHP sounded like such a blast. I'm extremely jealous. I have to go to Tampa for work at some point and I'm hoping to stretch it to Sept and attend a MNSSHP solo!

I love Tarzan and Jane, what a great meet and greet you had with them!

I also loved your story about sitting with that family for the parade. They sounded so sweet!

I really want to buy the entire Beauty and the Beast dish set next time I'm down there. I would need to buy a dining room hutch to display them in but I think it would be worth it :rotfl: So Pretty!

I just LOVE your trip report!! I live in Northwest NJ. I lost my power during SANDY for 8 days, but no one I live near or work with lost their homes. But I have friends and family members that had lots of damage. One of my friends is STILL not able to live in her house in Long Beach, NY to this day. Getting stuck in Disney, my very favorite place, would be great, interesting!! Maybe I missed it in one of your responses, but what was the rate Disney gave you for the hotel during Sandy?? Can't wait till you complete this trip report, and I am looking forward to reading BirthdayFestivities13. Thanks!:wave2:

It's not that most kids aren't nice, they're just... kids. You know? Like they haven't fully learned yet so they aren't always going to be polite, sweet, patient, giving... but these kids totally were!

Yeah, I figured that tip would help a lot of people! I hate the flimsy cups and it's just so much easier to carry in the resort mug.

Such a heartwarming story, and you told it so well!

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it :)

As Mickey would say... "It's really not so scary." :thumbsup2

Thanks! I thought so too.

It's my favorite glass ever. And yeah, you can get CHEAP wine here that doesn't taste bad at all. At Whole Foods they have some that are literally $3.99. :lmao:

Anytime!

What a sweet story!!! That little girl sounds like an absolute doll princess:

LOL! That's so funny. You just never know who is going to pop into your dreams! pixiedust:

Aww. That's a very wise thing. It's better to raise your children to be kind than anything. Plus, Tay, Ike, and Zac are kind of freaks of nature. I mean... they've just been so talented since birth, it's a little absurd. The great thing is they are three of the kindest people as well though! Their parents definitely knew what they were doing and you sound like you do too! Congrats on the positive test!

Yay for updates!!

AHH me too. If I was a local I would be there seriously once a week. I mean it would be ridiculously expensive to keep buying all the tickets + different costumes for each one but it would be such a dream since I love dressing up so much. Even in NYC there aren't events like all through Oct that you can dress up for. I mean, it's NYC, so if you walk around in a costume on ANY given day no one will even notice really. :rotfl: Oh well.

Good luck next year! Keep trying if that's what you really want, you never know. :flower3:

I know exactly what you mean! I always try and buy practical souvenirs as opposed to like, keychains or whatever. Usually anything I buy from Disney I get great use out of.

YAY! I hope you have the most AMAZING time at MNSSHP. I wish I was going so bad!!! I can't wait to hear all about your experience.

It really was. I hope you get to go in September!! That would be perfect to line it up with your trip. I hope that works out for you! :goodvibes

They're fabulous. It was such fun meeting them!

They really were the sweetest family ever and I was so thankful we crossed paths.

So do I! It would be worth it. They're so pretty.

Thank you SO much!

It's so unbelievably sad how many people are STILL displaced. It's crazy. My uncle, who lost his home during Sandy, literally JUST moved into his new apartment on August 1. He was living in hotels and in and out of the hospital due to extreme illness since then. It's just been crazy. I feel so ridiculously lucky, my experience was a dream and so many people don't even have a place to live. It makes me so sad.

I honestly don't remember the rate exactly. I think it was like $30 off what it would have been.

Thanks so much! #BirthdayFestivus13 is gonna be one heck of a TR, and my longest yet! Crazy.

You got such spooky pics in this update I love it!

 The little girl who sat next to you in the parade oh my gosh that is so sweet! It's little moments like that that touch our lives exactly when we need it sometimes.
