"I'M STUCK IN DISNEY!!!!!!!!" A Delightfully Unliveable TR ~ NEW TR 9/27!!!!!!!!!!!

I used to always hit Magic Kingdom on my arrival day but I too had a time where it made more sense to hit another park on the first day and I found I almost liked it better that way. That way the my first full day I could hit rope drop and there is nothing more magical than watching the welcome show and then stepping into the park and seeing the castle and all the Main St CMs standing and waving their big Mickey gloved hands...
That red velvet cupcake from starring rolls is the best cupcake EVER!!!! Oh, I wish February would hurry up and get here, I'm having serious withdrawals that only that red velvety goodness would cure. And pixie dust. And ToT. And Splash. Is it february yet?

I used to do MK first on every trip, but you're right. Sometimes it just make sense to do another park instead.

I'm surprised you didn't break down and cry at the thought of not riding TSM that day. I know how much of an addict you are (like ME!)...because I would have bawled...in the middle of the midway.

That's a good suggestion. Disney could totally capitalize on the "personal photographer deal". Really. :rotfl:

Hahaha. I never noticed that typewriter before at VOTLM. Hemingway would be proud. :lmao:

I'm crying over the loss of your cupcake right now. That just ain't right.

AHH I know. It was very difficult, but trust me, I got in MANY MANY TSM rides in later on in the trip! Next time though... I think it'll seriously be the first place I go. I AM DYING TO GO ON RIGHT THIS MINUTE.

They really could! I would like that a lot, cause I feel like candids are always better anyway. I hate when someone's photo album is just like *pic of them in front of this*, *pic of them in front of this* over and over and over. It's boooring.

I don't remember ever noticing it either! That's one of my favorite things about Disney is noticing so many new details each time.

Try to be strong. I had a few other cupcakes this trip, so not all is lost. Breathe!

Carrot cake is my favorite, which is good since its everywhere at the World. But I'm hoping to find some utterly adorable Christmas themed treats, even though I'm normally too full treat them! Sounds like a fabulous first day so far. I'll just be hitting refresh until you post more!

P.S. that ToT shirt is bad ****!

P.P.S. where is that handsome devil HT?

OOh, trust me, you'll find many many delicious Christmas treats! Don't worry about that for a second. It was an amazing first day, I can't wait to tell you guys the whole story!

Thanks... I think? I'm not sure what word you used there. LOL.

He'll pop in and out, don't worry!

I was so disappointed that we ended up missing VotLM this year. It's one of my favorites!! But the timing just never lined up.

LOVE your ToT shirt!

OMG those cupcakes look heavenly...as I wipe the drool from my chin. :rotfl: Too bad you didn't get to finish it. We have gotten the Butterfinger cupcake before, but I didn't get to try a new one this trip. That looks like the winner to try for next year!

Mmm, looking forward to seeing what you eat at Sci-Fi! It's a favorite of ours. We eat there every trip!!

Yeah, you always gotta miss a few things. Can't do it all. It will make your next visit there even more special.

Thanks! You really haven't even seen the full awesomeness of it yet, just wait. :D

Yes, they are AMAZING. I finally tried the Butterfinger one this trip, and it was ridiculously good of course. I still prefer the Red Velvet one though!

I eat there every single time too, and always get the same exact thing, so if you want a spoiler, head back to my past 2 TRs! haha

Whoops, I got edited!

OOoh yeah! Please don't quote my entire update. They're not too crazy about people doing that. It's not needed anyway, I'll know what you're replying to ;)

Hahaha well... when you think of it logically... YUP everything is going to be just fine! :thumbsup2

I completely agree with that.

She is really pretty! So is Regina. Even though she makes me cringe. AHH did you watch the Tallahassee episode!?! I'm like emotionally scarred from it. It was so intense.

There's something else I need to try at Pop... the Chicken Alfredo, right? AH I want to go there. And oh yess you should definitely stay at AoA next time!! That'd be so cute :)

I really am. I actually will be good at what I'm doing there. And I will feel like I'm working towards the big picture, finally. I'm WAY too excited. Ah girl, I wish we could just get an apartment down there together! It would solve a few of those variables haha

BAHAHA oh my gosh I remember. Your first trip report completely turned my Disney obsession up a few notches. I will forever be grateful. :flower3:

----

YAY for another update on the day I find this trip report! But now I'm craving MORE :lmao:

I love DHS! Voyage of the Little Mermaid was a huge part of my childhood too. I was just in complete heaven when my five-year-old self was watching that show. I wish I looked like Ariel just so I could be in it. The girl who I saw last time really was not too good. :headache:

I'm so sorry your Starring Rolls experience was not its usual wonderfulness :( How sad.

I'm sure Sci-Fi will make up for any disappointments! :thumbsup2

REGINA IS GORGEOUS. Her wardrobe and make-up as the Queen is one of my favorite things ever, oh my god. And in the flashback scenes where she is living with her parents still, they did the most unbelievable job of making her look youthful and innocent. FLAWLESS SHOW. And no, I have only seen the first 2 episodes this season, but I will find time to catch up soon!

Yes, you need to try the Chicken Penne Alfredo at Pop. Also the Mom's Fried Chicken & Mashed Potatoes. SO GOOD. Oh and the flatbreads roooock. You can't go wrong there basically. I like the food court at AoA EVEN MORE though. Oh my god that place is so awesome.

We would have the ultimate Frumpartment, you and I, it would just be spectacular.

Did it really? I didn't know that! My TRs ARE quite powerful though, so I understand. :D

Aww, I saw it for the first time when I was 5 too. I am with you, I was totally AMAZED. My dream job at Disney is Ariel in that show. Part of Your World is one of my favorite songs to sing EVER. I still sing it constantly, it's just perfect! They're having auditions for it in a few weeks (that and singers that can play Belle) but I don't know if my torso is necessarily ready to be on display 24/7.

I know! Trust me, I made up for the lost cupcake later in the trip! And yes, Sci Fi is always perfect and this time was no exception!

Yup! That's exactly what we did, hit rope drop the next day. I wanted to make sure Lee-Anne saw the Welcome show. You can't miss that!

It really is the best cupcake ever!!! YAY for going in February. Don't worry, the holidays will be here before you know it and then February will come quickly right after. At least, that's how it always feels for me. My birthday is in April, and once the holidays hit I feel like my birthday comes up SO fast!

Starring Rolls closes at 4pm?!! Who comes up with these rules

Hollywood Studios wouldn't be my pick for a First Day Park either, but it's where we'll be headed our first full day, too. I need my Magic Kingdom magic!!!

We usually go to Epcot first thing on our trips, it would be SO weird for us to go somewhere else!!! :rotfl: I don't know why we get started in these traditions, but I guess they work for everyone!!

UGH how weird is it that Starring Rolls CLOSES at 4??? I mean, I'm not opposed to an early-morning cupcake, but doesn't it make more sense for it to be open during a somewhat normal dessert time?

Hi! Long time lurker, first time poster :) I love the way you write...can't wait to hear about your extended Disney stay
pixiedust:

 I totally had that shirt back in the 90's. I wore it with hot pink shorts because I was stylin' :rotfl:

I REALLY DON'T KNOW. It's so annoying!

You'll have an amazing time doing Hollywood first. We definitely did :D

I REALLY wanted to go to Epcot first since I was foaming at the mouth for F&W, but the first day was the only Sci Fi reservation I could get and I really wanted Lee-Anne to see Fantasmic (and I'm glad I did cause it ended up being like her favorite thing), and there was no other time we could see it. It's really hard planning for someone who hasn't been to Disney in 17 years, trying to fit everything into 5 nights and 6 days.

I agree... I just don't understand it from a business standpoint, I mean these cupcakes are definitely one of the most popular desserts they sell, they are definitely the Dole Whip of Hollywood Studios, so it doesn't make sense that they would stop selling them 4-5 hours before park closing.

joining in :goodvibes Cant wait to hear how everything unfolds for you

:welcome: :D I can't wait to tell you guys all about it!

I'm in!!! Can't wait to hear about new Fantasyland!!

Hi, :welcome:!!! Unfortunately I won't get to that part for quite some time (the first day I went there was day 6) so if you have any questions, feel free to ask!

Hi! Long time lurker, first time poster :) I love the way you write...can't wait to hear about your extended Disney stay
pixiedust:

Thank you so much! And thanks for joining in the conversation. I love when lurkers come out :D

 I totally had that shirt back in the 90's. I wore it with hot pink shorts because I was stylin' :rotfl:

HOT PINK SHORTS? Thank you for giving me that idea because that sounds amazing. I kinda wanna wear it with bright yellow shorts next time, cause why not?

I definitely know the feeling of the MK on the first day, I used to always do it, it just doesn't feel real until you see that castle! I did Epcot first this last trip, and had to park hop over to MK to get that real feeling, baha!

TSM with a 75 min wait doesn't sound that bad, but I get about having someone else not wanting to wait in line that long first thing at Disney, haha

Starring ROOOLLLS. Ugh, those cupcakes, I never change from the red velvet one either, I tried the butterfinger one once and it just didn't live up to it! haha

I love your obnoxious character explosion shirt!!! :cool1: Anything with the monorail on it is pretty much perfect! :lovestruc

DHS is a fun park to start with, we always start with Epcot, but I wouldn't object to going to DHS first! It's probably hard going against Disney tradition though!

I love your Tower of Terror shirt! :worship: I really, really need like, every single ToT item of clothing they sell at DHS, I'm obsessed with that ride.

To me, a 75 minute wait for TSM doesn't seem that bad either, but I don't think my DH would be thrilled about it! He'd wait with me, but I'd feel bad! :faint:

Haha, I was thinking the same thing about New Fantasyland during my trip, wondering if I'd get to see it, knowing it was AP previews all week, and assuming my only shot would be during MVMCP! I'm so happy I got to see it TWICE! I was in tears walking in there the first time, seriously! :cloud9:

I'm sorry your Starring Roles experience wasn't that great! I don't know why that place isn't open past 4, it makes scheduling in cupcake time kind of difficult! When we were leaving magic hours and walking by there, I was telling my DH how it should be open late, because do they realize how many people would be in there, getting cupcakes at 11:00 at night on the way out? They are missing out on soooo much extra $$$!

I totally agree with you about the dance parties!!!! I was talking to my DH about this while we were in Disney and then I read your same thoughts on your TR! I was telling him how I wish Disney didn't do these extra things, especially the obnoxious pool parties at the resorts, because just being AT DISNEY is enough! Kids don't need to be constantly entertained in Disney World, just being there should be more than enough stimulation! Ugh, I don't know why, it just annoys me! :rotfl2:

You definately had me at "Stuck in Disney!" Now back to catch up!!!!

Ohmygosh, I love your ToT shirt! One of my cousins had a shirt like that back when it first opened and I was super jealous. So fabulously 90s! Side note: Have you ever seen the video of Regis Philbin doing a promo piece for ToT during the 1993 taping of Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Parade? It's also fabulously 90s, and as a 6 year old, I thought it was terrifying.

VotLM is one of those attractions that I love because of it's nostalgia factor, but I wish that they would digitally remaster the film portion of it. (Unless they've done this recently... I haven't seen the show in a couple of years.)

Starring Rolls definitely needs to be open later! That's so sad about your melty, no-good cupcake. I love Disney cupcakes, but they're so big and rich that I can never finish them in one sitting, so my cupcakes usually meet the same fate as yours. :(

Great start. The 'Ohana remix of Waiting for Tonight sounds fab and your character explosion shirt is so perfectly Disney. Also, I'm glad Hula Timon was there to comfort you through the dark, Stacey-less times.

At this moment I realized how much I hate stopping to take pictures. I like HAVING the photos, but I just don't like to interrupt my Disney rampage to do so. Basically my point is that I need a Photopass photographer to be assigned to me to photograph my vacation candidly while I run about through Disney.
I feel the same way. This is why we need Disney paparazzi. They need to stop taking pictures of celebrities and come take pictures of me to use in my TRs. I mean who wants their work featured in US Weekly when it could be used on the DISboards? :rotfl:

Stacey time is ALWAYS quality time :thumbsup2

BUS VOICE GUYYYY  Gahhh I really hope they don't phase him out.
He makes all bus announcements that much more magical!!

I love your shirt!!! DIY-ing is the best!!
Well...when I have the patience for it...and I don't destroy the shirt in the process. YAY!!

Even though they skip like 105% of the story, I will always love this show.
Haha exactly! I kind of like that they do that though. Sometimes I wish they did a 15 minute summary of all my favourite movies. I would still watch the full length movies BUT sometimes it's nice to get straight to the point, through the conflict, fall in love and then the happy ending all in the time it takes to make a sandwich!!:rotfl:

I'm so sorry to hear about your cupcake loss.
Good thing you were at DISNEY and there is delicious food everywhere to ease the pain...

Ahhh Sci Fi!! It's always a favourite :goodvibes
Can't wait to hear about it!

I almost ALWAYS go to MK first as well, but sometimes it's good to mix it up too! :goodvibes Ugh! Sorry about the cupcake tragedy! :worried: Losing precious Disney food is never a good thing... but it'll make that next cupcake all the better, right?! ::yes::

Cannot wait to hear about the new Fantasyland... I think we'll all be living in a semi-permanent state of suspense until you reveal it! ;)

Oh my goodness, you sound just like my DD!! I give you credit for waiting at the airport for Lee-Anne, I would have been awfully tempted to head to the resort too! Hahahaha!

We stayed at POP for the first time for one night during our last trip in June and LOVED it! So much fun!! The grounds and theming are delightful. Too funny about Lee-Anne not quite getting the Stacey obsession, give her time, she may come over to the dark side! DH does the exact same thing, "Can we watch something else for a change?" I'm like, "um, no I HAVE to see the "must-dos" again." Like I haven't seen them a gazillion times. Hahahahah!

And oh my goodness, we've done the same thing with the cupcakes - but last time I got smart and packed tupperware! It worked great packing all of our treats in the tupperware with waxed paper to help protect them from smooshing. They weren't as beautiful as when we first bought them, but the joy of eating Disney food at home for several days after the trip makes that post-Disney depression (PDD) a little easier to take! My husband thinks I'm crazy, but he certainly enjoyed himself some Disney treats at home! :thumbsup2

I love that you went to DHS first! It's so hard to choose which park to go to first and we all have our traditions, but doesn't hurt to shake them up a bit. I hear you about that first day when you arrive and you have the whole Disney vacation ahead of you - you can hardly keep from leaping around in joy!!! Believe me, DD and I totally understand! Anyway, loved your update and looking forward to hearing more!!!

HEY GUYS! Sorry I haven't gotten to my replies. I have been so busy, especially at my stupid job. UGH, retail. I hope you all have a wonderful and happy Thanksgiving. I love any excuse to publicly binge eat so I will be doing that in spades! And if you shop on Black Friday, please be easy on the poor unfortunate souls who work at the stores. I am one of them... hopefully you won't find me rocking back in forth in a corner while repeating "There's no place like home... there's no place like home..." and attempting to teleport to Disney.

tumblr_lv71388qfX1r4twato1_400.jpg

I found this on Tumblr and thought it was sooo cute! I love the random selection of characters Mickey & Minnie invited over. Brer Bear and Roger Rabbit are there! haha!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!! :D

I definitely know the feeling of the MK on the first day, I used to always do it, it just doesn't feel real until you see that castle! I did Epcot first this last trip, and had to park hop over to MK to get that real feeling, baha!

Starring ROOOLLLS. Ugh, those cupcakes, I never change from the red velvet one either, I tried the butterfinger one once and it just didn't live up to it! haha

That's so true about it not being real until you see the castle. For me, when I'm walking down Main Street and it comes into view, it's such a special "I'M REALLY HERE!!!" moment!

It's not that bad! It would be bad for like anything else but that ride is so unbelievably fun and entertaining that it's really not. Plus, you know if it says 75, it's probably like 60.

I tried the butterfinger one on this trip, it was delicious, but I am in agreement that red velvet is the one to beat!

Thank you! I agree! There's a new monorail wallet they put out not too long after I left and I want it SO BAD.

Yeah, eventually I'd like to try doing Epcot and AK first, but MK will always be the tradition!

Thank you!! I always want the shirts in there too but so many of them are like $35 each, plus I love retro looking stuff so I decided to just get the old one and work on it myself! :D

Whoever I marry is going to have to prepare themselves for epic waits in line for Toy Story Mania, on top of getting up at the crack of dawn for rope drop. :lmao: Just a requirement. When he proposes I will confirm this with him just in case.

Yeah, they'd make a fortune during EMH. I really don't get it. It's not like Disney usually misses obvious money making opportunities! LOL.

Haha, that's so awesome you said the same thing. It's just hilarious to me. Of all the things to do in Hollywood, you gotta set up a dance party? And they were EVERYWHERE.

You definately had me at "Stuck in Disney!" Now back to catch up!!!!

Yay!! Thanks for reading :)

Ohmygosh, I love your ToT shirt! One of my cousins had a shirt like that back when it first opened and I was super jealous. So fabulously 90s! Thank you so much! Fabulously 90's is the look I was going for. :D

Omg... I haven't seen that but it sounds WONDERFUL. I will have to try and dig that up!

Digitally remastering the film part wouldn't hurt at all! I kinda like the vintagey look though, it's like I'm watching my old VHS tape of it or something. :lmao:

I know, I'm pretty sad about it right now. LOL. Seriously though they need better boxes too, I hate those black ones that don't even fit anything. Disney needs the cupcake boxes that hold cupcakes up right and in place. That would at least help a little.

Great start. The 'Ohana remix of Waiting for Tonight sounds fab and your character explosion shirt is so perfectly Disney. Also, I'm glad Hula Timon was there to comfort you through the dark, Stacey-less times.

I feel the same way. This is why we need Disney paparazzi. They need to stop taking pictures of celebrities and come take pictures of me to use in my TRs. I mean who wants their work featured in US Weekly when it could be used on the DISboards? :rotfl:

THANK YOU WHERE IS MY RECORD DEAL. Look for Waiting For Tonight ('Ohana Remix) Ft. Hula Timon on iTunes next year!!!

LOL you are right my friend. Plus, I always really like when the Photopass people take candids of you talking with the characters or hugging them. They always either come out super cute or they catch me mid-gushing over a character and my ogre face is captured. Either way, they are quality photos.

Stacey time is ALWAYS quality time :thumbsup2

BUS VOICE GUYYYY  Gahhh I really hope they don't phase him out.

Ahhh Sci Fi!! It's always a favourite :goodvibes
Can't wait to hear about it!

Very true!! :bitelip:

ME TOO!! I feel like it's inevitable but I just hope it doesn't happen for a LONG time. I need to emotionally prepare.

Thank you!! haha, it took some practice for me to not destroy shirts. I definitely have a few jacked up ones in my dresser. The ToT one came out good though!

I agree! And the sooner we can get to Eric laying there looking all hot on Ariel's rock, the better! :thumbsup2

Yes, there were many other cupcake opportunities. Never fear!!

Yay thanks!! Sci Fi is the best!

I almost ALWAYS go to MK first as well, but sometimes it's good to mix it up too! :goodvibes Ugh! Sorry about the cupcake tragedy! :worried: Losing precious Disney food is never a good thing... but it'll make that next cupcake all the better, right?! ::yes::

Yup, I'm glad I did something different for a change! Don't worry... I totally made up for that cupcake later in the trip. And then some! :D

Ahh, I didn't get to go until Day 6, so I'm afraid you will be in suspense for awhile! But if you have any questions or anything, I'd be happy to answer!

Oh my goodness, you sound just like my DD!! I give you credit for waiting at the airport for Lee-Anne, I would have been awfully tempted to head to the resort too! Hahahaha!

I would have liked to have the extra couple of hours in Disney, but it was worth it to wait for her so we could go together!

hahaha, my future husband is going to have to be a Stacey lover. That's just the way it's gotta be. He could be the perfect man, but no Stacey, no marriage.

You are a genius with the tupperware and WAX PAPER. I actually thought of bringing tupperware but I didn't wanna carry it around. Maybe next time I will though!

Yeah, I'm glad we went to DHS first, everything totally worked out according to plan and it ended up being amazing. I didn't even miss the MK much cause I knew I'd be there in the morning anyway. Ahh that feeling of your first day is so intoxicating. I WANNA GO RIGHT NOOOW!!!

I always try to go to the MK first but with limited time its tough! Once we went to AK for rope drop but by 11 we were done and off to the MK! I LOVE your Tower of Terror shirt! How awesome! I'm not creative enough to even buy a vintage shirt online! I can't believe i missed Voyage of the Little Mermaid on my last trip, oh well. I'll just have to go next time! Great update!

Hello!!

Hooray for Hollywood! I, of all people, am definitely okay with you hitting DHS first. I LOVE THAT PARK SO MUCH IT IS RIDICULOUS.

Gosh, that is HEARTBREAKING that you only got to eat a little bit of the cupcake and then tried to save it and it was inedible by then. The same thing happened to me one with some zebra domes and I was devastated. We should probably join a support group to get through this scarring events.

ALSO...your ToT shirt is just fabulous. I find it shameful and embarrassing that I do not own one. Yes, there's the bathrobe, but those get hot. lol. I mean I have ride pics and pics with the CM and I wearing the bellhop hats all over my apartment but no t-shirt. Disgraceful.

I hope you survived working Black Friday! I had to work "Magical Friday". :rotfl: You know, since it's Disney. Luckily it went by fast!
