I am pleased to announce that, as of an hour ago, I finally have a DEDICATED SCRAP AREA!!! I am almost as excited as the day I got my Cricut....which now has a HOME out on my SCRAP TABLE, all set up and READY TO GO!!!

Earlier in the year, DH came home one day with a drafting table that he got for free on craigslist. He told me it was my future scrap table, we just had to figure out where to put it. It's been in the basement in pieces for about 6 months. A couple of weeks ago he mentioned that he was OK with setting it up in our bedroom......and tonight, he did:cheer2: !! It's awesome....I can't believe I have such a large table to spread out my work...and to be able to leave it out in between. I know I will get a lot more pages done in a dedicated area than I did on the kitchen table:rotfl2: .

The kids go back to school on Tuesday, and I become a SAHM with 30 hours a week without the kids at home:thumbsup2. I've made up a daily schedule for myself so I don't lose it being home alone every day, and I have actually dedicated blocks of time 2 to 3 days a week for scrapping! My goal is to get our 2007 Disney trip scrapped before Christmas.

Dance with me, friends!!

I'm so jealous! (of your scrap space AND your 2-3 days a week to use it!!)

Hey Kim, that's great I have taken one of the almost empty bedrooms (used when dd comes home to visit) as my scrapping room. It is a wonderful feeling when we have space that doesn't interfere with anyone/anything else.

:dance3: :yay: :cool1:  :woohoo: :dance3:

It is the best to have a dedicated space........I can walk away from something when I need to and know it will still be there when I get back.

Congrats and enjoy your new space.

I would set the "rules" for the scrapping area right now. Rule #1.... it is OFF LIMITS to the kids. Occasionally my kids will use my table for "project spot" and it drives me nuts!! And I have had two nice pairs of CM scissors "disappear" in the last year.

But since it is in your bedroom, my biggest advice would be to keep it clean and neat. Otherwise it will be stressful. I have a huge bedroom and a large dedicated scrapping area in it. But it is usually the neatest area in the whole room. I have enough stress trying to clean up after the three slobs I love and live with without creating more stressful messes myself!

Congratulations on getting your very own SPACE!! Enjoy it, create in it, rock it!......................P

i'm so jealous!!!!!

good for you!!!!! how nice that your dh got that table in the 1st place. enjoy your new space!!!!!

I had my scrap place in my bedroom too. Lucky for me, my kids were okay with taking over the basement and giving me the dining/playroom for my craft space. I had quickly out grown the space I had with my Cricut and carts. The pro is now I am closer to the family when making swaps. The con is now I am closer to the family when making swaps. :lmao:

You are going to love having a dedicated area for scrapping! It is great to start a layout and walk away from it should you need to. I feel I am more creative when I can scrap in little blocks of time here and there.

Thanks for sharing in my happiness, everyone! I had such fun yesterday! I worked on my Blizzard Beach pages. I have enough good photos that it's going to be 6 pages! Anyway, I've just started sketching pages on graph paper first and I got all of them sketched, the photos are cropped, the papers are all selected, and I have my cutting list prepared. It was so nice to be able to concentrate on what I was doing!

I am hoping to have 6 complete pages by the time the kids come home from school tomorrow....not a bad way to start the September challenge!

The only "problem" I have now is that *all* I want to do is scrap. I am a runner and I never take off 2 days in a row. I took off yesterday because we had family plans, so by all rights I should be on my treadmill right now....and all I want to do is go back to my room and scrap:).

Yep, that is the danger of your own space! I recently got more space added to my previous space, plus I got the Expression so I really have only wanted to scrap!

It's so nice to be able to leave out a work in progress. Enjoy!
