this site is a little confusing to me, but I'm trying to plan a trip to WDW at the end of August. Has anyone been there then? If so, how is it?

I took my 6 year old daugther last August and I vowed I would never ever go again in that heat!!! It was absolutely unbearable- The humidity was so high I would sweat just standing in the lines.

Don't get me wrong, we still had a wonderful time, - we just missed the two hurricanes and left in between and before they closed the airports - so that is another thing to be aware of. The weather is unpredictable and it rained at least once every day. One day we had the most severe thunderstorm I have ever experienced and it came on very quickly.

If I only had the option of August I woud definetly go in August because I am "disney obsessed" - So far I loved going in both January and February- had warm weather both times we went in the winter - no humidity and the line ups were almost non existent.

I am leaving tomorrow in the very early a.m. and will be experiencing Disney for the first time in April - So we will see how I make out with that.

I have to say, I am not a sun worshipper, do not sun tan and have an allergy to the sun - so going in the summer months for me was probably not a good choice. My DD had so much fun she couldn't have cared less if it was hot or not.

Anyway, any day at Disney is fabulous, whenever you end up going - ENJOY

We went last year near the end of August (just dodged one hurricane and cut our trip a little short because another was coming) and had a great time. The crowds were pretty low but it was VERRYYY HOT!!!!! I don't mind the heat too much but my DDs were complaining the minute we left the A/C of our hotel room. We've decided to plan a late November trip this year because hurricane season is over then, the weather should be a little cooler and we've never seen WDW dressed up for Christmas. Have fun planning your trip!

Hi! During the summer if we have a choice, we either go the very last week of May/first week of June or we wait until the end of August. The end of August is all but impossible anymore...the kids are back in school here. The heat doesn't bother us...it's just as hot here at home, but it is really something to consider if you're not used to it. It gets incredibly hot & humid. But I have always found the crowds to be considerably smaller during the last half of August compared to any other time during the summer. If that is the only time you can make the trip, then it is really worth considering due to the smaller crowds. If you can go anytime, then I would think about another time to avoid the heat and humidity. ::MinnieMo

we went the first week of aug. last year with dn 15, ds 10, dd 6, dn 4, and ds 3. yes it was hot but their is alot to do with air conditioning. We loved swimming. We did not try the water parks but stayed at saratoga springs and the kids loved the pools. We are taking our own water bottles next time. We have been their in Feb and Aug and arg going in May and the Feb we will go in Aug again but we are getting anual passes so we want to make the most of them. Get Priority seating for you trips and if you have a little princess start callin at 6:50 in the am for cinderellas royal table the first possible day (3 months before your trip).
