I'm not motivated....

I have to say that swaps are one of the things that give me a feeling of accomplishment. Since it takes me so long to scrap and I was so unmotivated for so long, it has been nice to work on swaps so I feel like I'm getting SOMETHING done.

DH asked me last year why I was doing swaps but I never seemed to get any pages done. I just told him that the swaps were fun and gave me a sense of accomplishment whereas my books will never be done which is stressful.

I'm working on fairly recent projects but I keep looking back at all of the trips we took before I started scrapping and I get totally stressed. I just don't have the same motivation for them yet I want to get them scrapped.

How do y'all handle older pictures?

Buffy, you always do such great work. Gorgeous layouts.:thumbsup2

I'm totally unmotivated too. I love swaps and I did paperbag albums for friends but I have no desire to do any of my stuff. I go in cycles though.

Shauna - how old?

For the most part I agree with scrapping your most recent pics first but for me that is 4 WDW trips. Talk bout Disney overload. I think I'm going to really concentrate on the dogs book, and to make it easy I'm going to pick 3 base colors, I'm thinking beige, dark brown, and a greyish blue. What do you think?
Oh and Popcorn was a dark red golden retriever. I need to round up a pic,
I think I only have 1 digital pic of him.

I have a few favorite scrapping sites I hangout at or check frequently. And I've found that if I do some of the 'challenges' each week it keeps that creativity flowing.

Shauna - how old?

Up to 9 years. Most of it is trip based but I just don't have the same motivation to scrap it. I used to take pictures differently before I scrapped so I have tons of random pics that I took on trips.

I started a baby album - for myself. That has been hard to do and I'm unmotivated to do it, even though I know I'll love the end product.

Old trips are hard, have you thought about mini-albums and bullet lists of memories and favorites of the trip?

I've been in a funk Forever. I'm far too hard on myself and can't rest until whatever page I've done is JUST RIGHT. So...this year I've made about 7 pages for myself and 4 pages for my mom's album. To stay crafty I've been making cards. I made 3 yesterday and was really proud of how they all came out. I need to let myself off the hook with scrapping and Just Do It...I have so many different albums going on...so many I want to do...so many years and pictures and I just rarely have the time. And like I said, when I do, it takes me forever to do a page because it has to be perfect. *sigh*

That's me too. I'm a perfectionist when it comes to crafts. I stink at card making though so I don't touch them. I did make cards for xmas that never got finished so I may pull those soon and finish them. They turned out ok, just not fabulous. You know how you can see it clear as day in your head but then it just doesn't work when it goes to paper. That's me.

I know exactly how that is and it bugs me soooo much!!! Drives me crazy that I can see exaclty how I want it and how beautiful it COULD be...in my head. Putting it on paper - :confused3 . :headache:

Well it seems like the funk has moved South! I think of scrapping, just can't get into it.:confused3

I know last year I made a 8x8 album for my neice of her wedding and now they are getting a divorce:sad2: or at least headed in that direction.
any how I thought the 8x8 went really fast and I did not have to put alot of effort into thought, the pages went quickly.

Hope I can get back in the mood soon.

my best friend wants me to do her wedding album but I swear as soon as I finish they will split up. Their relationship is pretty rocky at times. :confused3

I think I'm leaning more towards 8x8 for the dogs album. But I did find about 20 or so more pictures of him the other day so I don't know if they will fit in an 8x8. I hope they do. I also got his pics in chronological order. Now I just need the album.
