So, I normally hang out in the I guess, Disney section, with Resorts, Restaurants and such. However, for our next trip, I was interested in the BC/YC. However, we are open to any resort really.. Just trying to get away from the senior class trips. SAB looked really cool too! We are non-DVC. Some posters recommended I try renting points. I don't really understand the whole renting point process. If someone could please explain to me how this works out. How do you know how much each point is? Is that up to the renter's decision? Are the points more during peak times? We are looking for *****. We have rented rental properties before in the OBX so we aren't rental newbies. This DVC thing though is throwing me for a loop! :dance3: TIA :thumbsup2

EDIT: Date info has been removed so as not to be construed as a "Reservation Wanted" post - Chuck S

there is a link to the point charts for the different DVC resorts in the top righthand corner.

you can only rent a reservation for BCV (not for BC/YC). a studio is similar to a hotel room but at BCV, you will only have 1 queen bed and 1 sofabed.

please also be aware that renting 5-6 months out is getting to be short notice in timeshare terms. BCV may already be booked up.

please read the Considering Renting from a DVC Member? thread. it will explain that you are renting from an individual - they set the pricing terms, cancellation terms (if any) and so on. disney will not get involved if something goes wrong.

definitely feel free to ask more questions if this is confusing.

Before purchasing DVC, we had wonderful experiences renting. However, there are some horror stories out there, rare, but some. Just make sure you feel comfortable with the great and possibly not so great situations that could occur. I do want to say again though, that we had great experiences with renting. Be careful....those great experiences are what made us buy our own little piece of the pie!!!! :woohoo:

Yes.. proceed with all renting... with caution... there is some serious risk involved.

oh no! are you just talking about regular renters risk? or is there something that I am missing?? :scared1: you can PM me if stories can't be shared on the public board
