Ok, I just had to try these! I made them yesterday, but with Mint oreos. The oreo balls kept falling apart when I dipped them in the chocolate, so I just poured the chocolate on top and then drizzled more of it on. Even though they looked like an armless squirrel made them, they're so yummy!

I used double stuffed oreos, so next time I won't put as much cream cheese in it.

My family loves it when I make these. Mine never turn out prefect looking either but they taste great.

Yummmm!!! I'll have to save that recipe and make some for Thanksgiving!

I'm making those to give out at christmas with my chocolate covered pretzels and animal crackers. Everybody will go nuts. :cool1:

Oreo Truffles

1 pound Oreo Cookies -- 3 sleeves (45 cookies)
1 - 8 oz Cream Cheese -- room temp
1 pound Melting milk chocolate
1/2 pound Melting White chocolate -- (Can vary the colors depending upon the occasion)

Using a food processor, grind cookies to a fine powder.
Using mixer, blend cookie powder and cream cheese until thoroughly mixed (should be no white traces of cream cheese).

Roll into small balls and place on wax-lined cookie sheet.
Refrigerate for 45 minutes.

Line two cookie sheets with wax paper.
In double-boiler, melt milk chocolate.
Dip balls and coat thoroughly.
With slotted tool, life ball out of chocolate and let excess chocolate drip off.
Place on wax-paper lined cookie sheet.
In separate double boiler, melt white chocolate.
Using a fork, drizzle white chocolate over balls.
Let cool.

If not eating that day. store in airtight container, in refrigerator.

I made these for a Halloween party. They were a HUGE HIT!!! Thank you!!!

I make these all the time and LOVE them! I don't care for oreo cookies, but love these!

For everyone saying that they're going to make them as gifts...don't forget that they have cream cheese in them and should stay refridgerated. :)

I'm adding these to my Christmas cookie list. I make truffles once in a while, but these look so good too! Thanks for sharing the recipe.

Those look great. If you like those, try this. Bake a devils food cake. Crumble the cake up after baking. Add one can of chocolate canned icing. Just mix it in. Form balls. Refrigerate for 30 min., then dip in chocolate. They are wonderful.
