I'M JUST SHOWBOATIN' AROUND THE WORLD! & getting pooped on. Jan 13 TR! NEW TR POSTED!

I get so ridiculously giddy when you update!
I have been in love with the Mexico pavilion since childhood. It's just gorgeous. Plus, you're outside while inside....mind blown.
I have noticed that most people have no idea that you can go inside of the stave church. All I can think of when I see the fish gutting boy now is how happy he is. I point it out to people, haha.

OMG TRAPPER DONALD IS SO CUTE. Look at his furry little bum! So cute. I have such love in my heart for that duck.

Hoverounddddd...ound...ounddd
That is such a cute story about Matt & Bruce. Awesomeness all around. I just love WDW.

I have no idea what's to come.. A classic for lunch? Sunshine Seasons.
Next park HAS to be MK. It's Amy's first day ever in WDW!

Aww yay! Have I mentioned yet how happy I am that you're back on the DIS? Because I don't think I've made that clear at all.

Mexico is just wonderful. I love staring at the volcano. Mind IS blown.

Haha, yeah, I mean, I never go in there and see many others hanging out in the church. But I just loved listening to the LOTR music while the scary viking stared at me.

Fish gutting boy is just so ridiculous. He's become one of my favorite parts of Maelstrom!

He was adorable and the big reason we wanted to do that meet! But it just wasn't in the cards that morning unfortunately. You and Matt share a love for Donald! I got ridiculously adorable video of Chip and Dale though that morning.

Hoveround.. Hahaha I love that you just did the echo.

Yeah, pretty much how I felt. Super cute and pretty hilarious.

Ummm, yeeaaahhh. I think you may be onto something with that prediction. :thumbsup2

Hi guys! I just wanted to take a quick little interlude because I have to share this with you all.

I had a not-so-fun day today, and when Matt and I got home from work, I ran upstairs to change into my PJs while Matt checked the mail. He came inside with a package and told me I needed to open it. It was addressed to both of us, and I had no idea who it was from... But with the Mickey ears on our names, I suspected it was from a DIS friend...

I opened the package and found a card on top!

mecard_zpscdce5984.jpg

(Yes, notice the awesome Mexico pavilion shirt I am wearing. :thumbsup2)

I opened it up, and it was from the lovely Jen, aka FantasylandMom on the DIS, and her family! I blocked out their last name, but everyone in the fam signed the amazing card! It has Tinkerbell on the front, and says, "A friend like you... makes my world a whole lot brighter!"

Oh, but it gets better, because there were folded up colored in Disney drawings, one from each of Jen's kids!

Julia:

Can we just note the Mickey ears on top of the I in Dani?

Brynn:

mecard4_zps3b165f54.jpg

Brynn is a pro-colorer. Seriously!

Sawyer:

mecard5_zps2a6000da.jpg

Sawyer has some darn good coloring chops himself!

After basically squealing over the adorable Disney drawings, we immediately hung them up on our fridge!

photo1-1_zps16af1c68.jpg

We got into the rest of the package and came across some delightful Disney goodies, including a cute pop with Goofy and Mickey on it, Disney ring pops, an awesome plaque with a fantastic Walt Disney quote (which is going on Matt's desk at work), AND a Mickey Waffle-scented candle!!

photo2_zps49c6a54e.jpg

We clearly need a close up of this Mickey Waffle candle..

UM YUP! Talk about the best surprise gift to get in the mail.

It brightened my day and then some. And clearly this wonderful surprise deserved its own update!!

I am reminded daily of how blessed I am to have met so many amazing people through the DIS, twitter, and instagram... and it's all because of Disney.

I started writing my TRs in hopes of connecting with others with similar enthusiasm for Disney parks and sharing my adventures in my favorite place in the world... and I've gained some amazing friends who I would never have met if I hadn't joined this forum.

So thank you guys for being wonderful people. While I haven't met some of you in person yet, I look forward to it in the future! :goodvibes

Okay, I promise a new update here tomorrow morning, but I just had to share this wonderful surprise with you guys!

Continued in next post

How sweet of them!! We are glad you decide to write TR's so we could meet you! It is cool to have a place to meet people that also LOVE Disney!

Oh how sweet!!

Seriously, when I joined the dis I really just thought I was finding a place for tons of Disney information... Little did I know that I would find a community that is so welcoming... Especially in the TR community, and I haven't even ever written one! I haven't met anyone from here yet IRL, but I can't wait to!

Such a great way to end a yucky day!

I am really enjoying you TR, glad to see I'm not the only photography obsessed person who likes to take pics of all the little design details. I love them so! Keep up the great work!

Yay for random pixie dust!!!! What a sweet package from Jenn and family!!! :goodvibes

(Also, love your Mexico shirt! :thumbsup2)

I know, that whole family is pretty amazing! :goodvibes

And thanks, haha. I realized I was wearing it in those photos. Figured someone might appreciate a little love for Mexico! :rotfl:

How sweet of them!! We are glad you decide to write TR's so we could meet you! It is cool to have a place to meet people that also LOVE Disney!

I know, they are too kind!! And thank you, I'm seriously so happy to know everyone on here and share the same passion and excitement for Disney World. :goodvibes

I know, TOO kind, really... and it showed up on the perfect day for a nice surprise.

It's pretty amazing, this little community! I'm so glad I found the TR board and have basically "gone on vacation" with so many awesome people!

Aw thank you! I'm glad you're enjoying it so much, and also glad you're like me in that you are obsessed with taking photos, too!! Haha, I know it annoys Matt (though he's gotten pretty used to it by now) but I just love the little details at Disney. They make me happy.

Glad you're here!! :goodvibes

***Just a note that you should check out my last post on the previous page if you haven't already! Got a wonderful surprise from a wonderful DIS friend! :goodvibes***

Chapter Eight: Strawberry shortcake, ponchoing it up, and a monorail meltdown!
Day 2: January 18th, 2013

As we walked past the area between Canada and England, we noticed a ton of characters out and about, but they closed the doors pretty much right after I took this photo.

file_zpscac49611.jpg

We trekked on over to The Land for some food at Sunshine Seasons!

file_zpsc7f5f7c9.jpg

It was pretty busy but we finally made our way out of the restaurant area with our food, and I found us a table.

I went with my usual, the Turkey and Jack on focaccia with a potato salad on the side.

file_zps0f99aff1.jpg

Matt and Amy went with Chinese food, and Bruce went with a Pulled Pork sandwich I think. I have no idea why but I didn't get any photos of ANYONE else's food but mine! Guess I'm a lame-o.

I love that turkey sandwich! It's always super fresh and tasty and very filling.

Obviously, for dessert, I went with my favorite, the Strawberry Shortcake!

file_zps984bb771.jpg

Yumyum. I highly suggest this if you enjoy Strawberry Shortcake. It's SO good and light and just delicious. Everyone else went with the Strawberry Shortcake, except Amy got a banana bread type of dessert with frosting on top. She said it was really good, and it definitely looked like it!

We enjoyed our food and once we finished up, we headed out of the Land Pavilion... aaaand it was raining!

Fun fact: Every single one of our trips to Disney World, on our first full day in the parks, it has ALWAYS rained/we've have to wear ponchos. I am convinced because we are from Seattle, we are bound to always experience rain on our trips. Disneyland? It poured rain every day of our trip. So I guess we just bring the rain with us? Who knows.

Unfortunately, while in Disneyland, due to the crazy rain and winds we experienced (some of you will remember my poncho blowing all over the place on Mickey's Fun Wheel), our ponchos got super ripped and we had to get rid of them.

Sooo we bought new ones in the little cart near Mousegear! Bruce had a rain jacket on, but Amy also needed to buy one.

And you know what this means...

PONCHO PICS!

Hi Matt!

file_zpsa6664e57.jpg

Amy looks sad, hahahaha.

file_zps4e40a711.jpg

Aaaand Bruce photobombed me.

file_zpsa12517b5.jpg

Ponchos on, we were ready to roll! So we skidaddled on over to Spaceship Earth because it was a must-do! And fortunately, the line had also died down. I know it looks like it was longer but it wasn't bad at all.

file_zps5fb57737.jpg

Once we loaded, Bruce and Amy were right behind us, and mind you, Amy had never been on this. Bruce decided it'd be fun to choose the language as GERMAN, hahaha. So their entire narration was in German. Bruce actually majored in German in college, so he translated the entire thing for Amy as we rode along.

It was kind of amusing to hear German behind us and Bruce narrating away.

I said what's up to everyone's favorite scientist! It's not a very good photo, but my nice camera was in my bag due to the rain.

file_zps35d6bf34.jpg

As you know, Matt and I love making stupid faces on Spaceship Earth. It's our thing. Here are this round's...

file_zps2526cbb4.jpg

file_zpsb27a709c.jpg

We left Spaceship Earth, and I think Amy wasn't sure how she felt about it, mainly because it had been in all German, haha, and while Bruce did a good job narrating, it was still obviously not the same has having good ol' M narrating... and yes, I call her by her James Bond name because she was just so awesome in those movies, plus we just did a Daniel Craig Bond movie marathon a few weekends ago.

We moseyed on towards the exit, waved goodbye to Epcot, and made our way over towards the monorail!

file_zpsad2761c7.jpg

file_zps79e4e2dc.jpg

Being back on the monorail and hearing my favorite monorail spiel was like being on cloud nine. Seriously.

Funny side story:

So, the monorail man saying, "Please stand clear of the doors. Por favor mantenganse alejado de las puertas" is my ringtone on my iPhone. In mine/Matt's Ford Flex, our iPhones automatically sync up to the sound system when you're driving/the car is on, so if someone calls, your iPhone ringer will play through the car's speakers.

On Black Friday, Amy and I were leaving a store and I'd just gotten in the car and turned it on. As Amy was getting in, Matt called my phone so all you could hear was, "PLEASE STAND CLEAR OF THE DOORS. POR FAVOR MANTENGANSE ALEJADO DE LAS PUERTAS!" blasting out of the car's speakers. Amy stopped and looked at me in terror because she thought she set off some alarm and my car was telling her to get the heck away from the door, hahahaha. We both laughed SO hard after I explained to her how it was my ringtone and what it was from (since she'd never been to Disney World before). That story still cracks me up.

Anyway, sorry, I thought you guys would appreciate that story.

Bruce was spacing out while I tried to take a photo...

file_zps64b2b94c.jpg

He continued to space out...

file_zpse1532c5d.jpg

AND THEN he decided to smile... kind of?

file_zpse3075341.jpg

I needed a photo of us on the monorail, too!

file_zps83df7461.jpg

But obviously we couldn't go without an awkward face, too. I personally like Matt's nostril flare.

file_zpse53bbbd2.jpg

We rode along, and switched monorails at the TTC. We opted to ride the resort monorail, just because hearing the resort spiel is so part of the experience!

After we switched, out of nowhere, Bruce just stood up and started having a meltdown on the monorail while Amy told him to stop swinging on the poles. I seriously have no idea why he had his "meltdown" but the next sequence of photos had us all dying laughing.

You can tell he did not want to listen to Amy, hahaha.

file_zps04bb9c4c.jpg

file_zps1e8981d5.jpg

file_zps980ba550.jpg

Bruce had no idea I was taking photos of the whole thing, so then we were all dying because of how ridiculous it was.

file_zps08f1776f.jpg

As you can see, we're funny people, with no shame, so obviously these kinds of things just happen when you're hanging out with us.

Anyway, we arrived shortly after Bruce's monorail meltdown to... Magic Kingdom! YEAH YIPPY WOOHOOOOO!

Dani, I have to tell you this even though you're either going to get a kick out of it too, or think I'm really crazy...but, since I've been watching Biggest Loser, I'm rooting for the girl on there also named Danni (but obviously spelled different). Well, now everytime I watch and am cheering her on in a challenge, I'm now find myself saying "Go Danni Maroo!!" :rotfl::confused3

I HAVE to try Sunshine Seasons soon...I've seen it mentioned in so many TR's--especially that Strawberry Shortcake. If it tastes anywhere as close to as good as it looks then I'm in for a treat!!!

I totally cracked up at the ringtone snafu...that's hilarious! I too, have my hubby's ringtone set for the same thing!! Too cool, we are!!

That is so ridiculously sweet!!

But the burning question becomes, where can I get one of those Mickey waffle candles?!?!?!? :lmao:

Okay, evidently I was commenting to your last post while you were making this one!

That strawberry shortcake looks like HEAVEN.

The monorail voice story was too freaking funny! :lmao: I don't even know what I would do in that situation as Amy, even though I would recognize it from the monorail. I would think you had monorail voice guy in the back of your vehicle working security or something!!!

Wow, you guys really are unlucky with the rain, aren't you?! I hate walking around in ponchos in WDW, but it beats being at home I guess!

Hey, that's a post about ME!!!:rotfl2::goodvibes

Seriously, we love you people. You brighten our days all the time, so the least we could do was brighten yours. And even then, knowing you enjoyed it made us happy, too! That is a Win-Win situation right there!::yes::

I can't wait to meet up and have no shame with you. All about it.:thumbsup2

And for those wondering, the candle came from an etsy shop. I wanted to get the Beach Club scent, but she sold out the day before. WOMPWOMP! Still, pretty good for a second choice. She has random scents all the time. Right now, I think she's just listing big combo packages, but when I ordered there were lots of single scents available. It's just what she has in stock.

Again, you guys deserve every bit of pixie dust you get!pixiedust:

I love your side story about Amy and the warning she hears over your car speakers, very funny :rotfl2:, it made me laugh out loud. You are a joyous group of people, and this makes reading your adventures thoroughly entertaining! I look forward to your next update.

Aw ... how wonderful you got a present in the mail from a Disser !! That would have totally made my day.

Funny things:

SE in German
You and Matts funny faces on SE
Bruce Photobombing you
You and Matt's funny faces on the monorail
Bruce pole dancing on the monorail.

You guys make me laugh. Thanks for that. Looking forward to more :goodvibes

It really is strange that it rains on your trips so much! Why is that a thing for yall?

HAHAHA, Spaceship Earth in German. That's a new one. (Well, maybe not for the Germans.)

:lmao: That Black Friday story is HILARIOUS. I can totally picture some helpless person who didn't know what it was just freaking the heck out. HAHAHA.

Oh, yum and drool. I want that strawberry shortcake. Now. So good. Like ridiculous. The end.

Oh silly monorail rides, you always delight me!:cool1:

What a wonderful surprise from a DISer! I seriously love this community here :)

Yum, that sandwich at Sunshine Seasons looks really good. My husband and I always get the same dishes each time (Togarashi tuna noodle salad for him and the beets and goat cheese salad for me) that we go straight there and don't even look elsewhere. I wonder if we're missing out, but at the same time, we'd probably be upset if we didn't get to eat the one dish that we both love and crave!

WHAT IS THAT WEIRD OPENING BETWEEN CANADA AND ENGLAND?! I saw it open on my last trip too and my curiosity was very piqued. What is that blue facade? What are all those people doing?

OH MAN I love that Monorail Voice Guy has invaded your iPhone and car. That is marvelous.

Bruce seems fun. I may or may not be able to relate to his losing of his mind and acting crazy on the monorail.
