I'm home almost for good.......

DH and I drove down to our home in Cocoa from MA, and we got here Thursday.

You'll never guess who our first guest to drop by was!

Most of you know him! It was ncligs, or Nick@OKW+VB!

I have to say he is as great a guy in person as he was here, and his wife and daughter were just wonderful people too!

We are headed to Disney on Friday. Getting our new licenses tomorrow so we can save a boatload o money on that FL Resident/DVC member discount on annual passes! We are staying at CBR with some WISH board friends for the weekend.

No DVC stay until October though!

I guess it's okay since our new home is only 40 minutes away!

We DO have to go back to MA one more time though- for the last 2 weeks in Jan. Then we'll be Floridians for good as of Feb 1.

So PM me when you are coming to DVC/Disney. I want to get good use out of that annual pass and dh and I are up for meeting any members of our DVC family.

We just returned last night to the artic tundra of Wisconsin from 2 weeks in Florida. My husband travels for business and called me from the road a couple hours ago and asked the question: "Why don't we live in Florida?" My answers were "Jeb Bush", "We like paying state income taxes", "You like snow" and finally "I don't know". More may make it worth leaving my state of WI to live in the state of FL. Just maybe. I guess I could work on getting rid of Jeb from the inside .

Glad you are safely home. Hope it's all you want it to be. I am so jealous - my neighbors/friends just left this morning. They will try to be "snowbirds" the first few years. They moved to Ocala - one hour north of Orlando - I can't think of the development right now - Spruce creek or something. Did you move into a development? Did you guys retire and moved out there or will you guys be snowbirds. My "snowbird" in-laws are also leaving Sunday for Jupiter - boy they are all leaving us behind.

Did you move into a development? Did you guys retire and moved out there or will you guys be snowbirds. My "snowbird" in-laws are also leaving Sunday for Jupiter - boy they are all leaving us behind.

We are not retirement age yet. DH is closer than me, he's 56, I'm 39, so we'll be working. Neither of us owned a home and when we started to look for one we decided our down payment would go a lot further down here than in MA.

We got a brand new home in Cocoa that's twice the size of anything that we would have paid twice as much for in the Boston area. It's hard leaving family behind, but I'm sure they'll come visit!

Congratulations Annie! I wish you all the best in your new home and new state. I am a former FL resident (moved there from RI in fact). I really do miss living there and we hope to move back some day. Maybe we will PM you when we visit WDW late this year! Best wishes, and again, thank you for the kindness you showed me a while back.

COngratulations on the move! Are Nick and Cindy going to be neighbors? I know they are moving down there as well.

Not neighbors really, they will be about an hour south of us in Vero Beach. I would have loved Vero, but Nick and Cindy will be retired and since dh and I are still working stiffs we needed proximity to larger cities like Orlando and Melbourne, so we ended up in Cocoa right on the corner of 520 and 95.

But we are in a beautiful new development and they are starting Phase II for all of you who decide to leave the winters up north behind and head south. Believe me, if we can do you all can too!

Oh Anniet.... I am so happy for you and I am soooo jealous. We want to move to Florida so bad especially with this awful weather in Michigan. We are just chickens to actually make the move. You know fear of the unknown. I can't beleive you got to meet Nick! I miss his smiles and his knowledge around here!

congrats on your move! my dh would love to do the same someday...i'm not sold on the idea as we've come halfway (from PA to SC) and I'm really happy here. A 6-7 hour drive isn't really a big deal, especially once the kids get older.

enjoy your new life...a big move like that is always an adventure!
