More neat pictures! I like them. Sure makes me want to go back, one of our best trips ever. :thumbsup2

I loved the picture of the ship with the sign that says, "No Photography Allowed!" :lmao:

It looks like you’re having a wonderful time! Enjoy the rest of your visit!

Thursday was fun - Ala Moana Mall and a Driveby tour :rotfl:
When daughter returned, we left for Ala Moana Mall. Very beautiful mall, so much greenery. :flower2: :rose: :fish:
Bought very cool bags...2 for $20 at ABC store. Purchased one for me and other for daughter. (I am definitely going to need to buy at swap meet a larger suitcase :rotfl2: )
My feet were getting sore....dang it......so we were pretty much thru walking around and then headed towards Waikiki.
OMG, I cannot believe the hotels and condos. It has been 23 years since I've been here....I guess they've sqeezed :crowded: in a few more buildings. :confused3 :rotfl: .....

Here is anothe view of Tripler Hospital on way to Mall

Here is an example of traffic! It is merely 2pm and crowded !!!

One that is staying in a beautiful beachfront hotel just does not see/realize the amount of low income, etc. housing. DD says that she sees alot of beautiful vehicles parked in front of a shabby house/apt. Housing is very difficult to find here.

Zippy's restaraunts are numerous here.

Had to sneak a shot of some pretty dishes in Macy's :rotfl2: :rotfl:

It was about 4:45pm and leaving Waikiki past the zoo and heading on up and out of this area and gosh golly, there was the traffic!
So here we are driving and I came across Leonard's Bakery!!!! I so wanted to go here !!! and here it is! So daughter pulls into a tiny gas station and parks and I walk over and get the most delicious treat! Masaladas....yummmm

Oh boy - this bring back memories of when I was at Hale Koa just 5 months ago.

Yes, the traffic was horrid. so glad I didn't have to drive.

Did you get to Hilo's???? Wasn't it just wonderful.............

I'll be going back again before June, as that is when my son is being deployed to Iraq and I'm going over to visit again.

The Hawaiian Hilton is absolutely the best and most beautiful.

Enjoy the rest of your trip

beautiful pictures and those dishes look really beautiful. I think I need to take a trip to Hawaii.

What great pictures, enjoy your stay. We loved the Hale Koa when we went, it was 6 years ago. I want to go back!

I wanna go back!! (can you hear me whine?!?!?!)

3 weeks! Have a wonderful time - I look forward to your updates & pictures - keep 'em coming!

When will you be in front of the King's statue?

Oooh it looks so beautiful!! sunday I will be on Maui! Can't wait!!
Have a great time!!!

I too need to get back to Hawaii ! Great pictures. Now get out and walk in the sand!

I DID walk in the sand tonight! :cool1: We parked at a garage right next to International Marketplace. roamed some (I will get my trinkets at Swap meet for better prices :thumbsup2 ). and then we found this restaraunt that DD and DSIL ate at with DH's brother, wife and kids in the summer when they were visiting island. Big Kahunas. Nice tropical place. great sandwich! I had a Pina Colada! :drinking1
Then we roamed some more....lots of buildings and lots of people. We walked across the street to the statue , called DH and he and DS saw us!
(I will share some photos tomorrow----DSIL's computer is not on and they went out just now for errand , or to get away from me :confused3 :rotfl: .
Then just to the left of the statue there was a stage area with hula dancers (community hula groups). so pretty. Such a beautiful site. Then we roamed across the street again to walk thru the Hayatt Regency. Then on up the street.

We walked up and found an entrance to the beach and walked there. When we arrived at the beach area this young gal greeted us and said Aloha and placed a non-smelling (but pretty) lei across us. Me and then SIL....and asked if we were with anyone else. I said my daughter who was in front of us. I then said to myself, oh she would want a few dollars tip. I get out my $3 (I am a cheapskate :rotfl: I admit) and then hand it to her but she keeps talking and said something about helping and her brother and $10.
I then begin to remove the lei. :rolleyes1 ....my DSIL is getting out money!
:rolleyes2 ....and I snatch my money back. :rotfl2: I was NOT going to fall for that line....(making a $3 lei and getting $10 for it). Oh well, I am sure my DSIL will learn in a few years...he is only 22.

We then continue along the beach up towards map of hotels
Royal Hawaiian and then past the Sheraton! So pretty, the water on the left and the beautiful hotels and beachside singing to the right of us.
Then past the beautiful Halekulani hotel.....and then to the Outrigger Reef.
This is where DH's bro and fam stayed. we walked thru it and then on to the main drag. When we were in the small alley way areas there were fireworks going off! beach area. Dang! we missed seeing fireworks (go off on Fridays at 7:30) by like only 10 minutes. Drat. Oh well.
Roamed some more and headed back.

Saturday we will be touring the USS Arizona and USS Missouri.

Aloha....
