I really have done an exhaustive search but many of the posts are old so hopefully no one will think I haven't done my homework. Our group of four are parents, DS 12, DD 9. From what I can have read #2 seems a favorite s - close to the pool, on the sand, good view for dive in movie? (hoping for Friday 13th Oct). If this is already booked (I had to leave a message at the rec desk) what else do you Cabana Bananas  recommend? Also, is the themed cabana worth the extra bucks? We are staying on club level - current price? Can you bring down drinks/snacks from lounge? Adult pop from your room? I'm really hoping we can get it for the 13th as :grouphug: DD and DS are doing HHN on the 12th and I'm sure they will be sooo happy with a day at the pool. Are you charged a gratuity, or left up to your discretion? I'm assuming everything you order is an automatic 18% added. We will be at the parks for 4 1/2 days and the biggest question of all is.... IS IT WORTH IT!!!

You didnt say so I'll take a guess that you will be staying at hRH and that this is where you would like to rent a cabana?

We were there in May and rented #9? its the one just between the themed ones. We had a terrific "down" day that we all loved. There was lots going on at The HRH pool and we were entertained.

The kids loved the pool and slide and pool tables as well as some other games they played with all the other kids. The Cabana waitstaff was excellent as was the meals we had there.

Staying on CL the Cabana will be 1/2 off. Themed Cabanas are $150 and the others are $125 You may arrive at 8A p/u your TV remote and head over to the cabana where you will find, bowl of fruit, water soda, ceiling fan/light, TV, table and chairs a menu from Beach Club, 4lounge chairs and planty of towels for the day, there is also a fridge.

Great day totally, had a blast. :)

Thanks for your advice - booked #9 as per your and staff member's recommendation. I was going to book the themed cabana since floats are $20 each a day (yikes!!) and so upgrading to the theme cabana would be cheaper than renting them. Well, they have recently changed the policy and you no longer get a discount on the themed cabanas when staying on the club level, only the regular one's. I have to commend the concierge staff, I had left two messages and no one had responded to me. I called concierge, left a message, they called back within minutes and she kept me on hold until she tracked someone down who could book the cabana. I'm so excited :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

We've spent days in most of the cabanas and I love the location of #9 and 10 ! Rented #9 after they themed 10 and raised the price (we don't use floats in the pool, so not worth the extra to us). You are right next to the kiddie/wading pool area, near (but not too) the slide entrance, the volley ball court and the back hot tub. We never had anyone question what we brought to the cabana - as long as you don't bring anything glass - we even brought our wine down in plastic cups in the evening - kept milk and bottles in the fridge for DGrD - had a nice lunch and great drinks in the cabana from the pool bar/restaurant - wish I were going again soon - you'll love it :thumbsup2 !!

We had #7 (yellow submarine theme for the kids) & #8 (regular one for the adults) last summer. It was absolutely worth it. #'s 7, 8 and 9 are close to the path heading out to the parks, so the kids (including the adult kids) would run back and forth between the rides and the pool. I had a blissful day with a good book by the pool with a ceiling fan to keep me cool.

The service from the bar/restaurant was actually too good as evidenced by our bar tab at the end of the day :teeth: I wish they had been just a bit less attentive :)

We actually preferred 8 to 7, as the big themed backdrop could not be opened. So, the themed cabana you could only open on 3 sides for air circulation, while the unthemed one (8), you could open all 4 sides of the cabana.

We had 7 kids with our group, so the floats did come in handy. Although, while the kids were in the parks, they left the floats in the cabana. I was next door in 8. I was amazed at the number of people I had to shoo off that would come into the cabana to try to take the floats. And the cabana was obviously being used as there was backpacks, towels, etc strewn all over the place.

Is it worth it? Absolutely. We kick ourselves that in all the years we have gone, we have never done a pool/cabana day at the HRH. We won't be making that mistake again!

All seven children (3 families) whom are all seasoned Disney/Universal veterans, voted the Cabana day as the best day of any recent stay there.

If you are considering a cabana, why not just reserve one? That way, you will be assured one of your picks. You don't need to put a deposit down on one, just give them your reservation number. And you have until the day before to cancel without penalty.
