YAY!!!
I just finished booking our 3 night/4 day trip back to the world. We weren't planning on going back till Oct '10. However... DW has been going through some real tough times the last 2 1/2 years. Its been real bad over the last 3 months or so. She didn't have a very good childhood. Her mother was abusive (physically & emotionally). DW put most of the memories away in the back of her head. After her mother died about 2 1/2 years ago the memories have slowly started coming back. More and more and more. Well, she hit rock bottom a few months ago and was diagnosed with Post Tramatic Stress Syndrome. It has not only affected her emotional/mental health but also her physical health. She has become alergic to most foods and her immune system has been very much compromised as well.
The good news is that all the issues she has can be and are being fixed though therapy and she is slowly making improvements.
Disney World was about the only memories of her childhood she has that were good/happy.
Together we've been 4 times and we've ALWAYS had a great time.
Since she has taken a medical leave from work and I have a vacation coming up we decided that we both needed a break from our "real world" and need some of the Disney magic.
So we did it.
We're going on June 17th to the 20th. She'll be spending a lot of time around the resort pool and grounds. Taking things very slowly and spending only 4 or 5 hours a day in the parks to keep her stimulation down. This means I'll get to have LOTS of time to wander the parks by myself with my D300.
If anyone is going to be down there at that time and would like to hang out for a few hours please by all means let me know.
We're not doing the park hopper. 1 park per day, but the way the dates are I get 3 EMH in the evening and 1 in the AM on the last day before our early evening flight. So in that regards it works out PERFECT!
Anyway. We're very excited and I can't wait to get back down there. It will be 18+ months since the last trip.
This certainly will be a much needed mini-vacation.
