I am so excited to finally say that I am going to DAP. I will only be attending the Seminar though, due to an issue with the employer I was interviewing with. But, given the news I just received I was thinking about maybe staying longer. However, I called Expedia, who I booked the package with, and was told to change my airline ticket it would be $500!!!! Which I most definitely do not have, so after much thought, I was thinking about maybe missing my flight. I was wondering what you guys thought about that (specifically you guys who work for Dreams), I am flying the last flight of the day with United and thought that maybe if I missed it, they would allow me to stay the evening and I would just politely ask the customer service agents, if they could put me on the last flight of the day Sunday one extra day later (this way I could also stay for the PODCAST taping!!)
I was so excited to go down there, but the wall street firm I was interviewing with (who shall remain nameless) dragged me along on the interview process, telling me that I will have to come in for a THIRD round interview Friday late afternoon. So I booked that flight, however, now, they have decided to all of a sudden pursuit more qualified candidates!!!! It is so annoying because just before the second interview, I had noticed that one of the candidates’ mothers worked for the company, which would explain probably why he got it! Pure Nepotism!!! At any rate, now I can actually attend all of the events, but was wondering if that was an adequate way to do so. I know it is not right, but figured the Disney cheer would be a good pick me up after loosing out on an ideal job that I wanted.
Let me know what you guys all think and I look forward to seeing you guys at the seminar!

Wow! I do not have any answers for you, but I sure do hope everything works out for you.

Hi Anthony,

I know the feeling with being strung along. There are side-effects of missing your flight and it depends on United's policy on missed flights. I would check with the airline's site and see the policies for passengers and see the time limit that they have for passengers to show up for catching the next flight. The airline will more then likely put you on standby for the next flight after you arrived at airport. The point I am making is you want to see how much time can transpire before they will charge you for the fare difference ($500 that you were quoted by Expedia). Keep that in mind when you make your plans. You said it was the last flight out for United so the first flight maybe best try but you maybe able to go further just check.

I would also try contacting the airline, I think the change fee on united is 150 dollars and the difference in airfare. Sometimes there is not a change in fare, so you might get away with just paying the $150..

It depends on how much the difference between his ticket and the rack rate for the fare. That is not unusual to be that high. Ive seen ticket differences be higher for shorter hops.

I called and spoke to United and the CSR stated that I would be placed on the next flight that evening, even if it meant traveling to an airport out of range, they would try their best to get me to my destination ASAP. But, she also mentioned that I could buy a one-way ticket, or perhaps even plead with the agent when I arrive at Orlando. She said if it is an elaborate story I come up with, just try, and worse case scenario is they say no. I also asked how much it would be to change the ticket, they said it would be around $300 dollars, but she said not worth it, if the other plans work. She was one rep. that was chock full of information!

:mad:Sorry to butt in, but this reeks! Where I work, I had recommended a highly qualified (college graduate) individual for a job. But instead the Manager of the department halted all interviews because she decided to hire a hillbilly fishing buddy of her husband on the spot.

Have you tried to find out how much a one way ticket back would be? Maybe it's less expensive to just buy a new ticket.

I think that was the suggestion of the airline too. The agent more or less suggested it. Last minute fares can be cheaper especially since this is not the peak travel season.
