It just occurred to me as I was booking our MNSSHP tickets and then our Seaworld and Penguin experience tickets and of course co ordination this all with ADRs and EMHs that my close family ( DH and both DS) and my extended family ( sister, her partner, nephew and my mum) that will be joining us for their very first visit have absolutely no idea of the effort and amount of planning this trip is taking and therefore really don't and can not possibly appreciate it.

Having done all the ADRs because I was on the button at 11am at exactly 180 days and still having the FP+ to do I just wanted to say "thank you" to all you UK DISers out there for just being able to understand what it takes to put a WDW holiday together

:) :) :)

Done on my iPad so I can't put any flower emojis in LOL!

I know what you mean! If your group don't understand just how much planning, re-planning and co ordination go into putting a trip together you feel like there is no point telling anyone what you have spent hours doing because instead of thinking you're awesome, they assume you are (1) easily distracted, (2) obsessive or (3) just very slow ;)

I don't know that I'd like to take on the planning for a big group. I'm quite comfortable with my party of 2 and that keeps me busy enough! Well done Isabel. I'd love to say sit back and relax now, but you are probably going to be making changes anyway :rotfl:

It's funny isn't it. My DH couldn't understand why I put so many planning hours in, but after a few days in WDW he said he totally got it and thanked me for doing it :)

My family think I am mad for all my planning, checking , park planners, ADR's etc but it's a necessity, which I actually enjoy!

A holiday to WDW ain't cheap so doing that extra ground work ensures that you are at least semi-prepared before you go!

My brother was like  when I told him of the 180 days for ADR's etc! I don't think I could do one for a larger group and feel happy enough doing it for our family of 4.

Having done family holidays before they can be quite stressful and I imagine one taken in Disney would be :furious:

My dad is usually a 'planner on holidays' this trip my parents joined us at wdw in feb and left everything to and loved it and couldnt believe how stress free it was when we were there.

When he first heard i d pre booked restaurants he thought i was completely mad

They re off to eurodisney we nothing planned and no fp+ so will be interesting how they find it

I completely get this. I don't find people's reaction to booking restaurants 6 months out surprising at all. Even after our numerous trips, I still see a good dose of insanity in the whole process. I only accept it because I understand why we do it, but really, it's nuts :faint:

:disrocks:

It's when they say "are you on that DIS" again that makes me laugh, if only they knew ;)

I so get this my family undated and why we need to plan, but when I book trips with the extended family they don not get why I need to discuss where they would like to eat etc etc. The DIS helps me to feel normal when they look at me like I a mad for doing any type of planning (there standard reply is well we will just go with the flow and decide on the day!)
