Hi Everyone!
Even though I haven't had much time lately to work on trip plans, I thought I would write an update to bring you up to speed on what's been going with us.
Life has been a little crazy! I graduate May 9th (wahoo!)But in the mean time I have 6 final projects to take care of, including my master's thesis Ahhh!
I also am working as a graduate assistant on a research grant at UConn, where I go to school, and we are in the annual report/intense research phase so that is taking up TONS of my time. I'm planning a family literacy night at the school where I teach that is coming up this week, plus it's just nearing the end of the school year, so things are nuts there too. DF has been working 12 hour days at his company, is leaving for his 3rd (long) business trip in 2 months next weekend, and he just took his GMAT test and is working on applying to Grad school.
Phew! So that's what we're up to and kinda explains why I haven't been able to make it to the boards muchBut in three weeks I will be done with my Master's and back on here all the time since I am truly addicted
Meanwhile, wedding plans have been put on hold until after graduation. However, I have had some time to start mentally make lists of things I need to do and buy before our trip!
To Do's:
1. I need advice...what is the best way to send a room request? When should I do it? I want a king size bed and a room that is not on the first floor, in the Mighty Ducks section of ASMo (for my hockey loving DF) . I heard two weeks before the trip is best so they don't lose the request.
2. Pre-order the photopass CD. We got this in January and loved the pictures, since it will just be the two of us, I don't want to have all pictures of one or the other of us or ask strangers constantly for pictures.
Shopping List (I am a shopaholic so I'm very excited to get started!):
1. More shorts and tank tops (I don't have many and want to be ready for that hot weather.
2. Granola and cereal bars (So we can have breakfast in the room some mornings)
3. Gum (for the plan especially)
4. Ponchos (want to be prepared for any potential rain and I don't want to have to buy these in the park)
5. Cute, comfy flip flops ( I lived in these last trip since sneakers didn't work out, and I want new, practical ones that are still cute)
6. Moleskin (I forgot this last trip and regretted it when I had ugly blisters)
7. New books for DF and I (We like to get new ones before we live to read at the airport and on the plane)
That's all for now. I'm sure I will keep adding to this list as time goes on and I think of more stuff we have to have.
Thanks for reading and HAPPY EASTER!!!
What does your DF do? I want to travel!
Also, I just preordered the Photopass CD today!!!! How far in advance can you do that?
Third, make me a shopping list please... I'm supposed to be buying wedding makeup and nail polish, a mother's day card, getting a manicure so they clean up my cuticles before t he big day, start tanning today so i don't FRY in Key West, and working out so I FIT in my wedding dress. Instead I'm sitting here on the boards eating Thai food from a delish new place thatjust opened up. Love days off.
I got some new hardcover books but hardcovers seem slike they'd take up too much valuable packing space! How in the heck can you walk around the world in flip flops? i get blisters!
We just got our ME passes for May 17 and the 31st!!! It may be because they had put an error in our mailing address, so I'd call jus tto be sure, but the only reason you REALLY need them is if you want your luggage to go straight from the airport you depart from to your Resort!
