I'm bringing my diploma straight to the The Mouse! A June PTR-6/18 TR Link!!

Yay for being paid off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How nice of your Mom to take care of 1/2 the bill for you..HAPPY GRADUATION!! Woohoo!!:thumbsup2

Glad you found a dress at Old Navy you liked, they are SO cute, aren't they? And so very affordable, too!!:)

Looking forward to hearing the next update, it's getting soo close!! Btw, did you see I started me new PTR? Check it out when time permits, of course! ttys and have a good week!!!:cutie:

Being paid off is the best feeling, it seems so official now!! My mom is the best, she let me choose between a huge party or this trip, and it was obviously a no-brainer! I don't need a big party and I am too Disney obsessed to pass that up!

You are right, Old Navy is so affordable, I want to go back this weekend because they had a ton more stuff I liked. :)

I found your PTR and I will be reading along closely! Can't wait to hear all about your next trip!! Have a great weekend!

I'm so excited for you that you'll be paid off!! I can't WAIT to be able to say that!

YAYYYY for you!!!!

Thank you we are so happy about it!!

That's very cool. I like it! :thumbsup2

Thanks! We obvi won't have those butterflies all over it and it will be frosted to match our colors, but you get the idea!

Pretty cake (or cupcake stack I should say!!!)

Have you found any Disney worthy clothing yet? I've bought ONE sundress, and i'm bringing the sundress I'm wearing today for the shower... But it's so hard in April.

OK time to get my hungover butt in the shower (what are you feelings on spray tans? i don't want to wreck my skin but i'm WHITE)

I found a couple of pairs of shorts and one sundress but that is it. I have a 100 dollar gift card to AE that I have been saving since December especially for buying Disney clothes haha! I better get cracking...you are right though it's hard to find good summer clothes in April!

It's so funny you mention the spray tans because I was just having the same convo about them with my bridesmaids the other day!! Wedding twins strike again :laughing:I want to try Mystic Tans because I heard they are good but I'm nervous to be orange. I am VERY pale so I know what you mean.

Love the cupcake tower - looks really neat and different. :thumbsup2

Yay for being paid off! :cool1:

I hate wearing shorts too. Thankfully I was able to get away with pants on our trip, but I would imagine June would just be way too hot.

I've done Mystic a couple of times before and the best advice is to just test it out. I've never turned orange, but I can't promise you that you won't. I've had a couple of streaks on my legs but they blended pretty well the next time I showered. The tan itself doesn't last very long, so if you're too orange, I would guess it would fade within a week. If you want to try it, I would suggest doing a test run asap just to see how your body reacts to it. A couple of tanning salons here offer discounted rates if you go on a Monday, because they know it won't normally last until the weekend, which is when you would normally want the tan. So you might look into that. Mystic is ok, but I HATE the smell. It lingers and gives me the worst headaches. I've had the same, if not better, results with the Neutrogena self tanner that is already orange to prevent streaking.

Hi Lauren,
:woohoo: on your trip being paid in full, that is the best. I love the cupcake tower, very cool. Let me know how it goes if you try the mystic Tan. I'm white as a ghost but usually lay in the sun a lot during the summer months. Would be nice to be tan for the trip though. Some self tanners break me out a bit though.

Thanks! Our wedding is going to be very traditional so we figure cupcakes is just one little way to make it different :goodvibes

I'm packing half "real" shorts, half bermudas and hoping they don't make me too hot. I hate my legs so buying shorts is the worst!

Thanks for the info! I will DEF be doing a test run before the wedding. ALL of my bridesmaids are pale like me (we are a bunch of Irish girls haha) so we are going to go together to check it out I think. But for this trip I think I'm taking your advice and going with Neutrogena to save some money. You are a huge help :cutie:

Hi Nichole!! I will definitely keep you posted on my self tanning experiments! I am seriously embarrassingly white, I like to lay out in the summer too but the result is a sunburn that fades back to white :rotfl:

listen if i get enough no's to my wedding you need to come and see how alike our weddings will be. too bad you're not ohio too :) but listen, i want to tan tan-- and kinda wreck my skin a little but i get so pink and i get zits ... but i don't want to be orange and streaky. what a dilemma!

I just wanted to stop in and say hey! Life's been hectic and we haven't talked lately!

Hey Tink!! Thanks for stopping by and saying hello :goodvibes You are so right, life has been crazy!! With the end of the semester coming I have been flat out without much time to Dis, I'm sure you are in the same boat. But I'm heading over to your PTR now to get all caught up :)

Hi Everyone!

Even though I haven't had much time lately to work on trip plans, I thought I would write an update to bring you up to speed on what's been going with us. :thumbsup2

Life has been a little crazy! I graduate May 9th (wahoo!) :woohoo:But in the mean time I have 6 final projects to take care of, including my master's thesis Ahhh! :eek:I also am working as a graduate assistant on a research grant at UConn, where I go to school, and we are in the annual report/intense research phase so that is taking up TONS of my time. I'm planning a family literacy night at the school where I teach that is coming up this week, plus it's just nearing the end of the school year, so things are nuts there too. DF has been working 12 hour days at his company, is leaving for his 3rd (long) business trip in 2 months next weekend, and he just took his GMAT test and is working on applying to Grad school.

Phew! So that's what we're up to and kinda explains why I haven't been able to make it to the boards much :sad2:But in three weeks I will be done with my Master's and back on here all the time since I am truly addicted

Meanwhile, wedding plans have been put on hold until after graduation. However, I have had some time to start mentally make lists of things I need to do and buy before our trip!

To Do's:

1. I need advice...what is the best way to send a room request? When should I do it? I want a king size bed and a room that is not on the first floor, in the Mighty Ducks section of ASMo (for my hockey loving DF) . I heard two weeks before the trip is best so they don't lose the request.

2. Pre-order the photopass CD. We got this in January and loved the pictures, since it will just be the two of us, I don't want to have all pictures of one or the other of us or ask strangers constantly for pictures.

Shopping List (I am a shopaholic so I'm very excited to get started!):
1. More shorts and tank tops (I don't have many and want to be ready for that hot weather.
2. Granola and cereal bars (So we can have breakfast in the room some mornings)
3. Gum (for the plan especially)
4. Ponchos (want to be prepared for any potential rain and I don't want to have to buy these in the park)
5. Cute, comfy flip flops ( I lived in these last trip since sneakers didn't work out, and I want new, practical ones that are still cute :cutie:)
6. Moleskin (I forgot this last trip and regretted it when I had ugly blisters)
7. New books for DF and I (We like to get new ones before we live to read at the airport and on the plane)

That's all for now. I'm sure I will keep adding to this list as time goes on and I think of more stuff we have to have. :)

Thanks for reading and
HAPPY EASTER!!!

Hey Lauren! Congrats on almost graduating! :thumbsup2 I know you're super busy, but when you're done with school and have more time to Dis, I hope you'll read my TR. I'd love to have you there! :goodvibes

As for the room request - I simply made my requests when I booked the room. But, I have heard the best way is to fax a letter stating your request the week of your arrival.

We ended up getting a GREAT location (not the one I requested, but much better) and the 2nd floor that I asked for.

Happy Easter Lauren! Sounds like you have a busy month coming up. For your room requests I would make sure they are on your reservation. Also I would send a fax to the resort 5 days before check in. The photopass is great when your a couple, so I would definitely do that again.

Hey there Lauren! Just found your PTR and thought I'd join in!

First of all, congrats on your engagement, how exciting your fiance proposed in Disney World! :goodvibes:cloud9: He must be pretty awesome if he's a Packers fan. :thumbsup2 ;) haha

Now I've got to go catch up on everything!

Just joined so sweet he proposed in Disney. :cloud9: Trying to catch up on the Engagement Trip report and started the graduation one.

Thanks Carissa! I think I will call and add it to the reservation, and then fax it like you said. That is awesome that you got the room you wanted! :goodvibes

I'm procrastinating doing homework so I'm heading over to check out your TR!! Can't wait to read all about your trip :thumbsup2

Hang in there, you don't have too much more to go til you get the whole summer off !

Thanks Caitlin! That is what i keep telling myself!

And not too much more and you will be a married woman! :cheer2:

I cannot wait! I want to just sleep and lay out by my pool all summer haha. While I will still be doing a part time job, a nice break is much needed!

Oh no I'm sorry you've been having nightmares. But I wouldn't worry, you are right sure it's the nerves!

33 days that is crazy! What stuff do you have left to take care of? Don't be scared you've been waiting to be married and you guys are gonna be so happy :goodvibes

I love the cupcake tower! I love cupcakes, so that's right up my alley!

Congrats on being paid off and on almost graduating!
