Hello again Disers, and welcome to my PTR!! :welcome: I (literally) just finished my TR for our January trip. I had so much fun writing it and couldn’t wait to do another. Check it out if you want to see all the fun we had! I promise you’ll be glad you did ;)

For those of you who don’t feel like reading all of that, I will introduce the cast again and give you all the essentials:

WHO: I’m Lauren, the trip planner and soon to be bride who got engaged on said January trip to the world. I’m 23, a UConn grad student and special education teacher.:teacher: I love books, shopping, the elliptical machine…and oh yeah DISNEY! Been going since I was three, and I’ve been back every year since. My favorite characters are Daisy and Belle.

My fellow Traveler: My DF Kyle, 22 going on 23, my fiancé of about 2 months and my prince charming who proposed to me in front of the castle on said January trip!
Our proposal!:

He is a marketing associate for a company here in CT where we live (not together yet, we are very traditional and won’t move in together until after our wedding). Avid sports fan (Red Sox/Packers/Huskies) and pretty new to Disney. Other than the occasional high school band trip, he’d never been before we started dating. This will be his third trip with me though and he loves it and is willing to go back every year (sometimes twice as evidenced by this second TR of 09 haha!) His favorite characters are Donald and Eeyore.:donald:

We’ll be getting hitched June 25, 2010 here in CT then Disneymooning. But more about that later! This trip is to celebrate something different…

WHAT: My graduation!! As of May 9th I will officially have my master’s in special education. I was itching for a second trip this year, and when the 4/3 deal came out, my mom decided she would pay for half the trip as a gift to me! This will be me and DF’s first vacation just the two of us. We usually go with my family, so we are very excited for this romantic trip! And after spending 5 very intense years getting two degrees and teaching at the same time, I am ready to celebrate!!

WHERE: All Star Movies. Since this is our second trip in a year and we’re saving for a wedding, we decided to go value. And I do not mind at all, DF and I have both stayed at All Stars (me music, him sports) on different occasions. I like them a lot, the theming is cute and as long as I’m staying at a Disney resort I’m happy! This time we decided to try Movies for a little change of scenery. Plus DF is a sucker for the Mighty Ducks ;)

WHEN:
June 6-13th. Two weeks after school is over, but before I have to start teaching summer school. And I pray before it gets too crowded and/or hot! I have never been in June before. In fact I’ve only been in the summer once, in August for free dining in 2006. It will be Star Wars weekends. I’m not a huge fan, but heck it’s a new experience, right? And who doesn’t love Mickey in a uniquely themed costume, it might as well be a Jedi!

HOW: We’ll be flying down out of Hartford on Delta, the official Disney airline of course! Our flight out on the 6th is 7am. We are only morning people in Disney! Then the return flight is 6:55 so we can get a close to full day in on the 13th. I booked our entire package through Disney with the airfare because I honestly was feeling too lazy to figure out the airfare and mom’s paying half anyways haha! We have 7 day hoppers. No off days for me, we’ll be in the parks all day every day, that’s just how we roll lol.

We are also doing the Dining Plan. :woohoo: Not deluxe because I can’t eat all that food, but I like to have one TS almost everyday so it seemed the way to go! I can book my ADRs on March 8th so of course I’ll be on the horn at 7am. Just need those June hours to come outs so I can work on our itinerary some more!

Coming up next: I’ll show the list of where I would like to eat (if I can get the ADRs I want!) and share our “Must Do” list for this trip! Stay tuned!

Yeah, first poster! :cheer2:

I'll have to go back and read your engagment report - how exciting for you! Congrats on graduating and getting married!

We went last year the same week you're going - I thought the weather was perfect and it wasn't super crowded, I think b/c some kids are still in school. But we had a great time!

Looking forward to reading more!!

Thank you! Yay I have a reader already! I'm so glad to hear from someone who went that same week. I have been worried about what the crowds and the weather would be like so it is good to hear you enjoyed it!! Thanks for reading :goodvibes

I'm sorry up front if this is already in your other trip report, I promise I will go and read it. :goodvibes

You mentioned you are doing the dining plan - have you done that before? I've always contemplated it but not gotten it before. I would like to use it if/when they have free dining again, to see if I like it before we pay for it, but I've always been curious about that one.

Have a good one!

Hi Lauren! Congrats on graduating and the engagement! I celebrated my graduation from grad school the exact same way!! I'm in for your PTR! :)

Onboard again! We went that week last year... tons of fun! We are the week later this year, due to snowdays and school starting later!

I'm onboard again! :lovestruc
I wish I was graduating from grad school in May, but I will definitely use that as an excuse for another Disney trip next year when I AM finished!

Yay! I can't wait. June isn't bad, just make sure you go early! (Although I don't have January to compare it to!)

Hi Lauren, i just read your whole TR and am now on board for your PTR. Your DF is so sweet to propose at Disney, and you and your whole family just seem to have fun wherever you go. It's so great to have people to be silly with! :goodvibes

Congrats on the engagement and on almost finishing grad school. You must work very hard!!!

I'm along for the ride--I read your engagement report--how fun! I'm looking forward to reading along!

Hi! I'm here!!!! Can't wait to go along for the ride!!:goodvibes

Hi Kristen! So glad you are here :)

I'm sorry up front if this is already in your other trip report, I promise I will go and read it. :goodvibes

No worries, I love answering questions especially if they are about Disney, and it is actually not in my report because we didn't use the Dining plan in January. We stayed off site and you need to be a resort guest to get the dining plan, but we have used it before. This will be my third time on the Dining Plan actually, and I love it! I missed not having it on our trip last month.

I highly recommend it, the first time we did it we tried it during free dining because we weren't sure, just like you are feeling now, but it is totally worth the money! We went with 8 people in Jan. 08 and saved over 1000 dollars. You are never hungry, your food is paid for up front, and you get to eat so much great food, plus dessert at every meal which we would never order otherwise!! I love having 1 TS meal to look forward to everyday, it makes the trip more luxurious I feel. Definitely give it a try, and let me know if you have any other questions about it!! :goodvibes

Hi Lauren! Congrats on graduating and the engagement! I celebrated my graduation from grad school the exact same way!! I'm in for your PTR! :)

Thank you so much! That is so funny that you also celebrated your graduation there too! Thanks for reading :)

Onboard again! We went that week last year... tons of fun! We are the week later this year, due to snowdays and school starting later!

Oh silly snow days. I am praying we don't have a lot of those next year because I really don't want to have to miss school for my wedding. They mess up everything!

Too bad we won't be there the same week, but I'm glad to hear you liked the week I picked because I was a little nervous about it at first! Thanks for reading :cutie:

I'm onboard again! :lovestruc

Yay thanks for reading! And you are done next year, that is awesome! I sure hope you get a trip out of the deal too, it is an awesome excuse :thumbsup2 I hear they make mortar board mickey ears for grads, if I find them I will let you know!!

Yay! I can't wait. June isn't bad, just make sure you go early! (Although I don't have January to compare it to!)

Hi Irky! Glad you are here!!

We picked early June hoping some kids wouldn't be out of school yet and you better believe I will be dragging DF to the park for morning EMH and/or rope drops every morning!! I will be in serious commando mode, we were spoiled with very low crowds in January so we got to sleep in, but I know that's not the case in June.

Oh wow you read the whole thing I feel so special! Thank you for all your nice words :flower3: We are indeed a fun loving family and Disney is the best place for that! I work hard....but come June 6th I will be playing hard :rotfl:

I'm along for the ride--I read your engagement report--how fun! I'm looking forward to reading along!

Hello! It was indeed so fun and I cannot wait to go back! Thanks for reading!! :goodvibes

Yay I'm so glad that so many people are onboard already!! Now if June could only get here a little faster, I'd be even happier  But for now my Dis obsession will get me through, thanks for helping out with that everyone!!

Hi Lauren..too bad you'll be leaving the day we get there. Actually we're driving down on the 13th, will spend the night and get up Sunday morning and go to the parks!! But I'm here.

Woo I'm here!

Hi everyone! Happy Friday! I am so glad it is almost the weekend :) But sad that it is the last day of February school break, becase that means less Dis time for me

So now that you have the background on our trip, let's talk FOOD! One of me and DF's favorite topics!

Here is the plan we have so far. We know where we want to eat, but the days we eat certain places could change based on the June hours (whenever those get posted, let's all hope it is soon!)

Saturday, June 6th: Arrival Day. DHS, Late lunch at Sci Fi. I have eaten here once for dinner and did not really like it, but DF really wants to try it, so I agreed to lunch because the burger does look good. We'll probably get a light dinner later when we are back at ASMo.

Sunday, June 7th: MK, Crystal Palace breakfast (this is our first-morning tradition), CS dinner, probably at Pecos Bills

Monday, June 8th: Epcot, Sunshine Seasons for lunch and we are still trying to figure out dinner because we just heard that San Angel is closing for rehab :sad2:

Tuesday, June 9th: We are at DHS, doing two CS because we don't really want to use another TS here. We'll probably try Studio Catering Company for one meal since we've never done it and the menu looks pretty good, and Backlot Express for dinner since I love it there. For some reason I love their hot dogs :lmao: Or, I might try and talk DF into paying OOP over at Beaches and Cream because I'm dying to try it.

Wednesday, June 10th: AK trying Flame Tree BBQ for lunch and using 2 TS for dinner at Jiko. I am dying to try the filet and mac n cheese!

Thursday, June 11th: Breakfast at Captain Cook's in the Poly to try the Tonga Toast!! Then Epcot again, DF's fav park! We are doing Cantina de San Angel for lunch probably, and dinner at Le Cellier.

Friday, June 12th. MK all day, Breakfast at Main Street Bakery to get my cinnamon roll :yay: Lunch at Columbia Harbor House and TS dinner at Tony's Town Square.

Saturday June 13th: Departure Day :sad1: Breakfast at ASMo, then heading to DTD. Trying Earl of Sandwich for the first time. Then maybe Ghiradelli Soda Fountain again for some more yummy sundaes!

Ok, so there you have it. I make my ADRs March 8th, so everyone cross your fingers for me that we get what we want. Plus, it could change based on the hours because we do want to hit up a lot of evening EMH. We'll see, I think it's a good start.

My questions for you readers: Here is where I need your help!

1. Do you think it's worth trying to get into Beaches and Cream? I've heard good things, but I definitely don't want to use a TS credit for it.

2. We need one more TS for Monday, June 8th and I'm having trouble deciding. We would prefer it to be at Epcot, and here are my top choices: Coral Reef (I've never tried it and we are not big on sea food, so is it worth it for the atmosphere?), Rose and Crown, preferably during Illuminations, my mom suggested it but I'm picky so not sure I'd like it, or Tutto Italia.

3. Anyone eaten at AS Movies food court? What did you think? Any recommendations on what we should try or stay way from?

Let me know what you think, and if you have any opinions on the other places I picked or suggestions of places we should try! Thanks for your help everyone :)

Coming up next: Time to talk attracitions :wizard:

Ohhhh I love attraction talk!!! I remember in 1980 going to the MK and seeing BTMRR but it wasn't open. I couldn't wait to go back and sure enough, three years later I was there!! And I could tell you about a lot of rides that are gone but not forgotten...If you Had Wings, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, Horizons, Wonders Of Life (Body Wars), 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea!!!
