I'm bringing my diploma straight to the The Mouse! A June PTR-6/18 TR Link!!

Hi Lauren,
First off Congrats on graduating and getting your Masters :woohoo:. That is definitely something to celebrate. Your plans look great! ASMo will be fine I'm sure, it's not Poly but how much will you be in the room anyway. As long as it's clean that is all matters. Besides you need to save up for your Honeymoon :goodvibes. Your dining plans look great too. Of the 3 you asked about my choice would be Coral Reef. Dh and I don't eat seafood either. They have steak and chicken there too. The steak is a NY strip and has always been good. If you can get a tankside table then it will be great! Tuttio Italia was just okay IMO. I have never been to R&C but if you could get and outside table for Illuminations, then it might be nice. I have heard the food is hit or miss. Do you think it will be too hot for and outside table??

The dining plans look great, Lauren! In answer to your ? about places to dine in Epcot, I loved Coral Reef, but I do like seafood. I've never eaten at either Rose and Crown or Tutto Italia, but based on my likes (and I am fairly picky) I would go Italian. :) Just me. Also, I know you said Epcot, but Liberty Tree Taven at MK has great food, I loved it when I was there. They've stopped doing the character meal there, but it is still fun. Maybe a back up if you can't get one of your other ADRs. :cutie:

Hi Lauren!
Congratulations on your engagement and upcoming graduation! 2009 is an action packed year for you!! I skimmed over your engagement TR and this will be my first PTR to read from the beginning and I'm counting on you to show me how it's done! Me and my BF are going 10/31-11/7 and we are staying at CBR and will more than likely be doing the basic dining plan as well. I can't wait to follow along and hopefully pick up some pointers along the way!

Ohhhh I love attraction talk!!! I remember in 1980 going to the MK and seeing BTMRR but it wasn't open. I couldn't wait to go back and sure enough, three years later I was there!! And I could tell you about a lot of rides that are gone but not forgotten...If you Had Wings, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, Horizons, Wonders Of Life (Body Wars), 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea!!!

 I remember a lot of the old attractions too. I was never a Body Wars fan but I did love Cranium Command. Mr. Toad's Wild Ride is something I still miss! I also miss World of Motion at Epcot. The only time I ever rode 20,000 Leagues was at Disneyland when I was a baby and I slept through most of it. Delta DreamFlight is another old one I liked...lol I could go on and on!

Thank you so much, and thanks for stopping over :cutie:

You are so right, if it is clean I am happy, we will only be there to sleep and Poly for the honeymoon is so worth staying value this trip!

Thank you for the great advice! I am very much leaning toward Coral Reef...we stopped in there this last trip just to sneak a peak and I loved it inside. So I'm glad to hear you guys liked the food! And you are so right, it might be too hot sitting on the R&C patio, I never thought of that! I kind of like the idea of being able to relax in the AC during our sit-down meals, I hate being too hot and I wouldn't enjoy my food if that was the case.

I actually suggested Liberty Tree to DF as an alternative to Tony's later in the week! I love Thanksgiving type food, and we ate at LTT a few years ago and really liked it. DF doesn't want to do any more character meals actually so the fact that they stopped having them there is a plus, maybe I can talk him into it :) Thanks for the advice!!

Thank you so much!!! I'm so flattered that mine is the first PTR you've read from the start. I hope it lives up to your expectations! :rotfl: You should start one eventually too!

I am full of pointers and so our my wonderful disfriends as you can see lol so you came to the right place. Dining plan is awesome you should definitely do it! I've always wanted to stay at CBR, it looks so pretty. I have also always wanted to go in the fall, I never have before. Thanks for reading :goodvibes

Hi there!

Thanks for your response on the dining plan. I think it makes sense, too, I just have to get my sister on board. ;) I think she thinks we'll end up spending more money anyway on things like snacks, but I usually come with as few granola bars in my purse anyway, so I think we would be OK and not spend too much more on the snacks.

I like reading other trip reports, and especially if I don't have a trip planned - I can live vicariously through you! :woohoo:

Okay I will comment on all your day plans when I have more time, but I wanted to answer your questions real quick...

I've never tried Beaches and Cream, but I heard it's good.

I'd try Tutto Italia.

Your plans look good. I love Pecos Bill and Earl of Sandwich!

Pecos Bills is a tradition for us! Their food is just a bit better than the other CS places in MK, IMHO. I am excited to try Earl of Sandwich, what did you guys order again? I remember reading about it in your report and thinking it sounded yummy!

Trip reports can be so addicting! It's what gets me through from trip to trip!

I hope you can convince your sister to do the dining plan! If you do the math, it really is a money saver and if you pack extra snacks then you should be all set. We usually pack some too, but the last time we had DDP I didn't eat many of them because I was so full! Also, sometimes I would order a rice crispie treat or cookie as a dessert with lunch and save it for later for an afternoon snack. Even the cake they give you comes in a handy little take-out container! Just another selling point to share with your sis ;)

I've heard great things about Beaches and Cream! What did you have at Tutto? I love Italian food. Is the atmosphere nice in there? I really would love something kinda romantic since it's just the two of us for the first time!

i've heard Beaches N Cream is really good, too, and we almost went there one night, but i have to submit for consideration.... Kona. So yummy!

I don't know if you already saw this, but last night I totally commented on your TR that I am now considering Kona :rotfl: Great minds think alike...your update about it reminded me of how good it is so I'm definitely considering adding it to the plans! :)

Hi Lauren,

It's me again. LOL... I am home all day today so I got to surf "DIS" any time. :)

I haven't ready through the whole thread yet because I saw the post on question about food. That got my attention right away. I know I haven't get to the eating part in my TR. But it will be soon, I promise.

I see you already picked out some pretty good restaurant. However, while Tony's Town Square is good but I would consider a one hit wonder. I would go back only if I ran out of other places to go. It's also very crowd to get in even if you have reservation. I think it has to do because it locate inside MK.

I had people told me about Le Cellier. It suppose to be a great steak house. Never try it yet but I intend to on our next trip.

Jiko - The Cooking Place is an excellent restaurant. It locates at AKL. Another crowd place.

Another nice surprise restaurant is Anandapur Yak and Yeti at AKP. They have great appetizer, main course and their desert is out of this world. (You will have to wait from my TR to see what I ate.) LOL...

Ohana in PR is a great place for dinner. Their open fire grill BBQ is spectacular. I can't eat enough there. I told my DW we must go back there again on our next trip. That's how great they are.

Another hidden gem is Teppan Edo at EPCOT Japan. I have eaten Hibachi all over the east coast. IMO, Teppan Edo beat out every one I have tried. If you don't mind trying something different, it's worth to give this a shot.

I am spilling too much already. You will just have to follow my TR and find out what I have eaten at these restaurants.

Hey Lauren, your dining plans look good. I am not a fan of Tony's but I guess some people like it. Le Cellier is a must for us & I have not had a chance to try Tutto Italia yet but that would be my first choice because I could live on Italian food!!:thumbsup2. I also have not tried Beaches & Cream yet but will next year when DH & I are staying at Beach Club for our 25th anniv. We have been to Coral Reef (1999) & we really liked it then & I have been reading good reviews on it. I'm sure whatever you decide will be good. I have to like your DF for being a Red Sox fan!!! WOO HOO!!:cheer2:

What did you have at Tutto? I love Italian food. Is the atmosphere nice in there? I really would love something kinda romantic since it's just the two of us for the first time!

I haven't eaten at Tutto, but we are trying there in June. We did eat there when it was Alfredo's and if the restaurant looks anything the same-it would be VERY romantic for the two of you!

Hello! Just subbied!!

Love the engagement pics. And, some awesome ADR choices. Although, don't worry - you won't be missing much with SAI being closed for refurb. That's the only place I've ever eaten at WDW that I hated. (We gave it three chances too, and it was horrible all three times.) There are so many other amazing choices at Epcot, you can't go wrong!!

Hello! I am glad you got some time to Dis, I know you are very busy! Thanks for taking the time to make all of those suggestions...especially since you ate so much on your trip, you have lots of good advice! I cannot wait to find out more about what you ate in your TR. I especially can't wait to hear about the dessert at Yak and Yeti, I LOVE dessert. And I am trying to talk DF into trying Ohana because it sounds great...maybe we will switch that for Tony's because I think you are right about that one. Geez, there are so many great places I'm having a hard time choosing!

I have eaten at Tony's before and liked it but I'm not sure if it is worth the TS credits. The more I think of it, the more we might just go with Tutto because we only want to eat Italian once. I also love Italian and Tutto sounds more authentic. Glad to hear you like Coral Reef, I think I'll definitely be going with that one! Thanks for all of your input!

Beach Club is so beautiful, what a great place to spend your anniversary! And I will pass on the kind words to DF, he loves his fellow Sox fans! :goodvibes

I haven't eaten at Tutto, but we are trying there in June. We did eat there when it was Alfredo's and if the restaurant looks anything the same-it would be VERY romantic for the two of you!

Good to know! But then again, what's not romantic about an Italian place lol. I hope you guys enjoy it!

Hi!! Thanks for reading, glad you like the pics! We like SAI for the atmosphere, but I will not be missing the food because we have so many other good choices! It gives us a chance to try something new at Epcot, and you are right there are so many good choices!

I'm along for the ride. Enjoyed your last trip report. :thumbsup2

Hi! Thanks for reading :thumbsup2

too funny. i always go to my own thread last, so i hadn't seen it yet! :rotfl:

We actually went again later in the trip, but you'll have to wait to find out how that meal went! :rolleyes1

 Way to leave me hanging Sare! Just kidding, you know I will be reading, can't wait to see how it went the second time around!

OK, the ADR thing is something I know I will be revisiting in this TR over the next few months, but for now since I have to wait a few weeks to book, let's talk about what we're gonna do besides eat :)

DF and I had a fun car ride home from visiting relatives tonight that was spent going over everything we wanted to do in each park, what was a priority, what we wanted to skip, etc. I thought I'd add it to the PTR! So hear it goes! I love to hear what other people's lists are like in the attraction department so comment away :thumbsup2

Hmmm, let's talk Magic Kingdom first since it's my favorite park :flower3:

n9008981_35385157_2842.jpg

First, a list of the favorites that we do multiple times a trip, as much as possible! Written in the order of most popular for us:

-Splash Mountain, my overall favorite of any ride, and the first one we do if possible
-BTMRR, immediately following Splash whenever possible in order to dry off
-Haunted Mansion, we like to look for stuff we never noticed before and see who jumps when the ghosts pop up behind the gravestones hee hee
-Space Mountain, which sadly will be closed this trip but had to mention it anyways to pay some respect
-Pirates of the Carribean, and I often sing along (poor DF I think I embarrass him sometimes!)
-Peter Pan's Flight, I don't really like this movie for some reason but the ride is just wonderful
-Philharmagic, DFs favorite in Fantasyland because of a certain Duck
-WISHES! I haven't been in three years and miss it so!!

Here is our list of Must-Dos that are not really our favorites, but stuff we still like to do but we missed on our last trip due to lack of time/people in the group wanted to do other stuff instead:

-Carousel of Progress: the one time we tried last trip it was closed!
-Monster's Inc. Laugh Floor: this will be brand new for us and I heard it was a lot of fun
-Mickey's House/Minnie's House: We do these every other year because they aren't a favorite but are so darn cute!
-The Enchanted Tiki Room: for an AC break and because I discovered tonight that DF has never experienced it's cheesiness! :lmao:
-Swiss Family Treehouse: we stop here every few years, I like the book and it's another new one for DF
-Snow White: another one we do pretty must every other trip for some reason
-Railroad: I'd love to do a full lap, fun and relaxing!

Things we want to catch if we have time, but are not must-dos:

-Tom Sawyer's Island: made it there last trip and loved it, but not a favorite
-Buzz Lightyear: I love it and I'm sure we will make it here, but after riding TSM over at DHS, its just kinda old news to us :confused3
-Jungle Cruise: We had a fun skipper last time, but will that happen twice in a row? Not sure, we'll see! I'm willing to wait for it if I can have a dole whip while in line!
-Magic Carpets of Aladdin: if we stumble upon it with a short wait, and only because we like the view
-Peoplemover: on this list only because we are not sure if it will be open for us this trip :sad2:
-IASW: fond childhood memories, but not a must do
-Winnie the Pooh, again I do like it but not a must do so we'll see

And finally, here are the things we will be skipping, sorry to anyone who is a big fan but they are not for us (notice this is a small list!)

-Dumbo: I prefer the Magic Carpets, no particular reason but we just hate waiting for this one
-Indy Raceway: The smell of burning rubber gives me a headache and I haven't really enjoyed it since I got my license, something I think we'll do again when we have kids!
-Carousel: For some reason I don't love carousels, I just like to look at this one, it is very pretty and the music is nice
-Parades: sadly, we are not parade people, although I do enjoy Spectro once in awhile
-Mad Tea Party: I like them, but poor DF gets motion sickness
-Astro Orbiter: see above :rotfl:

So that is the very detailed list be came up with. We are both very organized and like to categorize things, if you couldn't tell! Hope this didn't bore anybody, I had fun writing it and I just can't wait to be there to do all this stuff!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend! Up next: Favorite things in Epcot :cloud9:

Love your park list with must see attractions! I wish I could get my DH to sit and go through the attractions for each park. I an't even get him to look at the flight times and park plans :headache:. I usually run down the list with the kids and get their must Do's for each park. Thomas says yes to almost everything .
